"Submarine Beta headed to the surface, we're running out of space for samples here."

"Copy Beta." There was a slight pause as the geologist with the research expedition took over to contact the surface. "Surface crew, send down another mapping drone. We're looking at a chain of vents down here, might be promising. We're going to need a better map."

"Copy that. Surface sending down the drones, expect them in thirty minutes.Looks like we might be hitting some paydirt, eh?"

"Lets hope so Surface."

Three meters away, a grate whispered open and a slim female form slid out of the vent. Ny had arrived. Taking in the situation at a glance, she moved back along their path, pulling out a set of flexible hand restraints, the same kind commonly seen at riots. The two of them moved in the opposite direction. The first room held just a single person, half-drowsing as he cleaned the table in the small kitchen. He was hit with an unpowered strike behind the legs to knock him on his back, then a powered baton strike to the stomach to knock him out.

The next room was adjoined to the kitchen, and through the cracked door they could hear the sounds of a local sports game. Two people in there according to the Force. Again the Sephi was the first through the door and taking in the situation with a glance. His pistol came up and the beam hit dead center on the torso of the Devorian across the room, followed a second later by a powered strike from the baton to knock the other one out. Rather than a bright flash and the distinctive sound of a blaster shot, the beam was silvery, slightly protracted, and gave off a gentle hissing sound. Both of the soldiers fell to the ground, also unconscious.

The next room was not so relaxed. Three alert minds, and beyond them four more that were focused on whatever they were doing. Two steps beyond and on the other side of the hallway were the barracks, with no fewer than seven sleeping beings, and just meters beyond that were the reinforced doors of the armory. A flash-bang grenade or a blaster bolt would be needed for the first room, and when either of those sounded the sleepers would be up and armed. That was when they had a fight on their hands. With the 'alert' room having no door, they couldn't sneak past either.

So. Options. If he knew more about Devorian physiology, he'd try to knock one of them out and sneak past to secure the armory. But he didn't, so that was out. There were three of them, all alert, so he likely couldn't Mind Trick them all. They had the flash-bang grenades, and with the Force he could be sure to bounce one into the barracks, but it wouldn't exactly do a whole bunch of good with them already asleep. Alternatively, he could use the Force to drop a grenade into this room while Jak slipped past to deal with the sleepers. If they waited for a few more seconds, Ny would be able to join them and open up even more avenues.

Gabriel blinked as she responded absent-mindedly and then immediately went back to texting furiously.

It did not seem to be going all that well, which was clear by the way her face was flushed, the frustration rolling away from her in waves of anxious thoughts and unpleasant feelings. The lass was clearly upset and that wouldn't do for Gabey. Look, with a day like this, the sun shining bright and the waves pleasantly rolling, with the sound of music in the background and the cries of happy feels by the kids in the ocean?

Nah, that wouldn't do.

"Hey." Lethe tried to get her attention again. "Why don't you join us?"

He gestured towards the sea, the guys and girls swimming, then gestured towards her surfboard.

"I could teach you a few tricks, if you'd like?"

At the end of the day all Gabriel really wanted was for everyone to have as much fun as he was having. Spread the joy around, make people happy and into the moment, because when everyone was having fun... that made everything just that much more enjoyable in the grand scheme of things.

He pulled off his little headphones, the breeze of the music barely audible now, besides the rhythm of it hitting the currents.

"I don't know what you had going there, but no sense in letting it go a perfect day to waste, right?" Now he smiled, tried that trademarked Gabey-smile that was two-parts goofy and four parts charming.

Girls always melted for that smile.

Bobbing in the waves with the rest of the crew, Makai completely missed Ellie's response to his own terse reply. Waves were much larger in the middle of the ocean, floating over the fathomless rift. Whirring of the wench bringing up one of the submarines from the depths.

Loud splash hit the surface as two mapping drones were lowered in. Makai joined the crew in helping push them away from the boat and getting them started under the waves. The drones were not very large and slightly flimsy. There was no way possible for them to be able to break the seas easily.

"Must have found something to send down the mapping drones again."

Oh, his smile certainly would have melted any girl's smile. Anyone save one Myra Elspeth who was getting more and more aggravated by the second as Makai Dashiell dared to ignore her 'Fine' and didn't even send a reply!

Was he really ignoring me? Why wasn't he responding? Usually, he types back pretty fast. WHY ISN'T HE TYPING ANYTHING.

All that frustration culminated in Myra ignoring Gabe for a moment as she shut off her datapad with a flick of her thumb, muttering, "FINE, be that way!" at the electronic, her grip knuckle white as if she was shaking the Dashiell instead.

"UGH, why are boys so.. soo... STUPID!?!" she burst out, perhaps a little louder than intended. Far more emotion than rationality at the time.

Especially since it seemed her eyes were filling with moisture and quickly turning red.

[ I would advise that we remain on the ship. ]

That was the ship's A.I's recommendation as she enacted the defensive shielding. There was only so much that a ship of their design and ability could do.

[ All requested units are responding and are en route. They will be here in approximately one hour. ]

The A.I saw the Companion's eyes grow wide. It appeared that the timeframe did not suit the brunette.

"One hour. But anything could happen in an hour. There must be a way for us to help." Noire cried.

Adema only logically answered with. [ If you exit this ship the odds are eighty-seven percent that you will fail and perish. ]

Trextan slapped the control button as the others arrived. The bunker doors slid shut behind them. This was it now. They were sealed in with the soldiers and has to move forwards until they took the generator. Then hold out here until the bombing stopped.

He rushed forwards at the first two troopers in cover, blade snapping back and forth to meet blaster bolts. One wide sweep of the blade cut through bunker walls and both troopers.

Trextan stood there at the mouth of the corridor that ran down, his bright blade held vertical between him. He sensed something strong through the Force: fear. Not his own, not from his companions. The stromtroopers. He tried to see it from their perspective. A group of Jedi had assaulted their bunker and then sealed the doors behind themselves.

"Lay down your weapons!" Trextan shouted. He didn't even back up the command with any influence through the Force. The troopers raised from the locals, the ones in brown, started to put them down.

Trextan turned to Rebel and offered an almost embarassed shrug.

Once again Gabey was left at the wayside as things outside of his scope were occurring.

While waiting for a reply he had looked away for a brief second, towards the redhead waving to him from the water - sun kissed, emerald eyes and a smile that spoke of pleasant things by the beach at midnight. But then his attention was grabbed up again by the outburst of Myra, Gabriel blinked and looked back to her. Hands tightening around the datapad, a lip that was pouting and heralded the arrival of the little, dopey tears already swarming just outside of view.

Kriff, was it me? Did I say something? Gabriel, you are good, you are money, money you hear me? This has nothing to do with you, absolutely not. That smile was perfection and you know it.

The Lethe boy nodded to himself in grim acceptance of the facts displayed and stepped a little bit closer. Not too close though, because the last thing he wanted was to get that datapad slammed into his face, because he had a few spare parts half of the Galaxy did not possess.

"Hey... hey, it's okay. Really." He wasn't all that good at empathy - not the emotion, but the sense of the Force and soothing people's feelings. Otherwise he would have done something like that now. "Please don't cry- if you cry, I am gonna cry, then everyone's gonna cry and if everyone's gonna cry, then even the pretty sun and beach can't save us, right?"

He wrecked his head for solutions.

"What if we go get you some... ice cream? Or I could teach you how to use that surfboard? Whatever you want." Just please don't cry please.

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)

It seemed that majority of the fighting was moving underground while Noire was having an existential crisis arguing with an A.I. that was making some good points about her inability to flirt the zerg-like Sith spawn to death, and Cathul dealing with the insurgents and spawn around the Great Seal. Ironborne and the other Greycloaks finished sealing up the borrow tunnels dug by the Sith spawn, the strange hand signals and sigils they contorted their fingers into were a way of both activating the Grav-Gloves they were equipped with and modifying different settings they employed, for example power intensity, or the range at which gravitational anomalies thrown by the glove would warp into existence so that objects could be somewhat manipulated without other creatures or objects getting in their way, for example when HK used one of those gloves to snap a Ysalamiri's neck while the creature was hidden away inside a cage. Either way, the droids would not expect for a lowly organic to understand their ways completely.

Ironborne made sure the probe he caught was secured, even if it bore no data on it the droids could with careful examination still acquire information from the design and materials used in the creation of the probe itself, but that would happen later. For now the machines finished clearing out enemies from the Palace, capturing the insurgents who did not flee away by now so that they could be safely taken into the custody.

What was happening with HK Ironborne had no way of knowing once the tunnels leading into the underground domain were sealed,

"Come on,"

He motioned to the other HK-copies with him to follow him,

"We have to get to the Great Seal and help the main-unit."

The others nodded and moved to follow with him outside the palace, heading towards the Great Seal where the other Abregado soldiers should still be stationed, some of them would be diverted by then to the Palace to deal with the captured insurgents and protect the King.

"We are going in."

Ironborne said to the soldiers unceremoniously, they had no choice but to comply to their commanders as one of the Greycloaks pulled the Great Seal up, moving it aside briefly just to allow Ironborne and two other armored and lightsaber-armed droids to slip inside into the tunnels and help HK out. Moving through the dark catacombs after the Great Sealed was moved back into its proper place after they entered by the one Greycloak that remained above the surface, only releasing a small cloud of ominous green gas that dissipated into the atmosphere, they would finally find HK, they saw him still brandishing his white-blade lightsaber, his black cloak in tatters from the sprays and dripping of acidic festerer saliva, the armored duraplast and shark-skin plates attached to his biot were stained with darkened burnt marks, biot itself hissing viciously from damage it sustained,

Hsssssssssrkshsh,

Yet HK would be surrounded by piles of dead festerers, crushed, cut apart, torn asunder, and bashed to death, currently the droid was holding a dismembered festerer claw in his hand, plunging it down to impale the spawn and kill it with its own weapon.

The Greycloaks reactivated their blue-bladed lightsabers, moving in to join the main HK-unit in his fight to push back the monstrosities and protect the underground denizens of Aleen.

It would seem the droids were in the tunnels now, if the life forces of her Festerers fading away was any indication. She was frowning behind her mask at the operation being compromised so quickly, and many of the Festerers were now dead. Still... it had proven an effective test for the Sithspawn, and highlighted that in the future, they would need to be improved upon. As it was, the base creature had proven adequate for the tasks it would be given. If she was completely honest with herself, she was more irritated by the loss of one of her probe droids.

The last few Festerers would start to burrow away from the droids, leaving them to deal with the angry Kindalo that inhabited the tunnels of the underground. They would be heading for a point where they could be collected for further examination while Eldaah made sure her two remaining probes were in their spots on her ship. They would upload the data they collected from this exercise to her ship's mainframe and power down, leaving her the unfortunate task of contacting her master. Opening a secure and heavily encrypted comm channel, she straightened up as the image flickered into life of a hooded figure.

"I regret to inform you that this operation is a majority failure, Master," she said. "The Aleena had outside support from a force of droids, and the Festerers and insurgents were ineffective against them."

There was no worded reply so she continued.

"However, valuable data on our base Festerer strain has been made and they were effective against the Kindalo. Even now, groundquakes have been triggered across the world... but not to extant we were hoping for. The remaining specimens are heading to their collection point, but the Alliance may very well analysis the corpses they retrieved."

It was over. Two more dead Festerers down the hole she chucked the last one she found by herself: she made that last use of Electric Judgment count. But this entire deal with the Festerers nearly exhausted her Force-batteries; it was the end of the road for her. She no longer had the energy to extract the dead Festerers from their holes, using telekinesis, while droids are scouring the underground environment for surviving Festerers, even though the Festerers' time underground is counted because they seem to react somewhat negatively to the atmosphere below. She was lucky to have a rebreather, but these dead creatures are not equipped with such. And once she is back to the Great Seal, she shuts down her broomstick, and, upon realizing the casualties on both sides, she decides to call for medvac and casvac. After all, the Aleena would be angry to see dead Festerers on the above-ground portion of the Great Seal, as well as their own kind, and they may blame it on the Kindalo.

"This is Therapist Actual: any dead Festerers are to be kept in reserve for analysis. Oh and we also need medvac/casvac over the Great Seal"

Ice cream?? Did he really suggest icecream? It was the oddest, and most random suggestion that Myra couldn't help but gawk. Granted, she didn't seem to make herself look any better like that. Not with cheeks flushed, nose red, watery, frustrated eyes and frustration running through her veins.

"What?" she sputtered out, lower lip trembling. Another wave of frustration as she gave a glance down at her bag. Still no sound suggesting that Makai had messaged her. Was he really ignoring me.

The back of her hand went swiping over her nose.

"Icecream doesn't fix anything!" she added, trying her best to gather her bearings -- but failing. A big fat tear began to roll down her cheek and she wiped at it in frustration anew.

Makai watched the drones go down past the point of where he could swim. The water was incredibly cold to his body and a bit uncomfortable as he slowly swam to the surface, back up to where the sun shone brightly. He could hear the technicians talking on board, scheduling to bring the submersible his father was in up shortly. The half-Galan found himself getting out of the ocean to warm up.

Wetsuit hung around his waist and once more and he fished out his comm. Back rested against one of the rails as he rested lazily in the sun. Eyes squinted at the message before his brows furrowed. What did 'fine' exactly mean? It didn't sound good but that was always hard to tell.

[So we're on for dinner then? There's some fancy place in our resort that cooks the food at the table, like a show.]

"We will explore enhancing the strain later," her master replied. "And it is little concern that the Alliance obtained these new specimens. They will be sent to the Jedi for analysis and their investigation will lead nowhere. You have done well, my apprentice. Retrieve our surviving specimens and return to the facility. I will expect a post-op full analysis of our survivors."

With that, the transmission ended and Eldaah allowed herself a small amount of relief. She had been worried her master would take the news... poorly, but there must have been some other motivation for today's operation. She likely would find it out once returning to the Festerer creation facility. Having her ship take off, she headed for the pickup point for the surviving creatures. En route, she briefly viewed the data obtained from her probes, jotting down notes and her opinion on the creature's viability and what needed improving.

Casvac arrived at the Great Seal to extract the under the form of a Neimoidian Yacht: while on Kaeshana she had Therapy Command deploy 19 squadrons of medvac craft, she knew that the Neimoidian Yachts were not usually equipped for medvac duty, yet for casvac duty, it was just fine. But there was a twist here: there needed to be a special compartment for the seven Festerers, with sterile conditions, much like those found in surgical wards onboard hospital ships or in military hospitals. Here the survivors from the rapid response teams sorted the casualties into three groups: Aleena, Festerers and everyone else. Yet, with additional groundquakes, but decreasing in intensity, each group had to be sorted apart, with the Festerers being the heaviest of the bunch, heavier than even the heaviest in the "everyone else" category. Everything the GADF would learn from this unpleasant, bewildering experience is welcome. Once the aft access hatch of the Neimoidian Yacht was open, the Aleena were loaded first, and then the people who fall into the "everyone else" category.

"Are you sure the compartment set to contain the Festerer bodies is sterilized?"

"Any reason why you wish for a sterilized compartment for the specific use of the... Festerers, admiral?" the casvac pilot asked.

"This is for scientific reasons: we have a new species on our hands. They were able to kill a few Jedi and damage the Great Seal, although preliminary data indicates that it was all to do with point-blank range"

"That's a serious point-blank range threat right here, then"

"Put the Festerers on the upper deck, everyone else on the lower deck"

The droids within the tunnels were swinging and slashing their lightsaber about, cutting through the Festerers and throwing them about all over the place, using their telekinetic capabilities and hard bedrock to bring great ruin upon their foes. They managed to survive and stay active long enough to see the Festerer's begin to retreat, burrowing back into the tunnels they poured out from, although plenty of their armor was badly burnt by the spawn's acid, much to their dismay as their suits were recently polished and fixed after First Order used similar acid-based ammunition against them.

Ironborne was about to chase after the spawn to hunt them down, dashing through one of the tunnels to follow it tracking movement and sound of the Festerers digging through the rock walls, but he was stopped by a metal hand clutching his shoulder, it was HK himself,

"Let them go, they are either done or this was only a test. Either way, the battle is won."

The droid would deactivate his lightsaber, holstering it on his belt, Ironborne nodded to him and saw the older droid scan the nearby tunnels,

"From the looks of it the Kindalo are still pissed about this whole ordeal, I doubt there are any other remaining holes these things dug through that would let surface atmosphere inside, the quakes should take care of their burrow-channels by now. Ironborne-"

He addressed the Greycloak, looking to him,

"Grab one of the better preserver spawn corpses and take them to our transport, if this was just a test I doubt it will be the last time we saw these things, and if they will be back, they will be better prepared than these runts,"

Ironborne saw HK kick one of the lifeless insect-like corpses of the Spawn nearby, turning the creature over, its tongue lolling out and acid spit drooling onto the rock floor,

"So we shall be prepared as well."

Ironborne nodded to his leader,

"It shall be done."

He agreed and scanned the room to find a suitable corpse to carry out,

"The rest of you are with me, we need to speak with the Kindalo and calm them down."

"Yessir."

As the rest of the Greycloaks marched out along with HK, their cloaks swishing softly in the air of the tunnels, Ironborne hoisted up a corpse he marked for analysis, one of the Spawn that were chocked out by the poisonous atmosphere within the caves until its unnatural life escaped it, and with the corpse over his shoulder he moved out towards the chute leading up to the Great Seal.

"Weird ugly things."

The solution was quite simple. The two non-humans would go back to the break room and let Ny deal with the rest of the guards. It was the solution she offered, and if it were a serious offer they would have taken her up on it. Instead, all three gathered by the edge of the doorway. Jak had two grenades in hand, a flash-bang and a concussion grenade. He was further back and prepped to run. Ny held a blaster pistol in hand, the barrel already starting to stray towards the doorway. And Audren, of course, held the baton and his own pistol.

Jak's underhand toss kicked off the whole thing. The instant the piece hit the floor, it detonated and dazzled the guards. He moved past the open doorway, heading for the barracks. Ny and Audren rounded the corner and dropped the guards with precise blasts. Ny immediately began working on the door, and fifteen seconds later there was the rumble of a concussion grenade and the sound of a few additional stun blasts. Barracks taken care of.

Unfortunately, the situation before them wasn't proving to be as simple as the rest of the place had been. The doors before them had specifically been designed to be sealed against oncoming enemies for the defenses they controlled, and they were the one set of doors that had actually been secured. Concussion grenades wouldn't breach them, and there were no access panels on the outside to open up and rewire. So much for keeping the entire place intact. With eyes half-shut, the Sephi ran his hand along the door, using the Force to try and determine where the locks were. He could sense them, but realized that they would be better off eliminating the door entirely. It was a heavy bulkhead that dropped from the ceiling, then had two horizontal bars on either side slide from the wall into slots on the door. Not only that, but bars on the door slid into the wall. It would be better to cut through the middle than try to open the door.

A few seconds later had an orange lightsaber blade carving through the door. While tough, it was simply hardened durasteel and carved away at a steady pace. The first seam was put into place near the top, and their only other concussion grenade was shoved through. The blast bent the loosened metal backwards, but the hatch was tough enough to resist major bending. The rest of it was completed as quickly as possible, then a flash-bang sent through for good measure. It wasn't needed, the four inside weren't yet conscious. Jak secured them while Ny went to the consoles. A glance was all that was needed to confirm the units were unlocked, they had full control over this shield sector.

"Blue team reports mission success."

The optimal option would be for all three teams to power down their shields simultaneously. To do otherwise would give advance warning. Yet if the other teams couldn't complete their objectives in time, this particular unit would go offline anyways. Better one unit offline and limited approaches to the target than none and keeping the element of surprise.
