He looked around for a moment.

"Uhh." His eyes darted from place to place, and he quickly found that he wasn't quite sure where the little movie drive actually went. Back home he hadn't ever worked at the theater owned by ATC and his own house had...well a single holo-tv that was mostly occupied by the nature show his mother enjoyed watching. His father had never really been one for Holo-TV, even movies which Kurt himself had always found rather odd.

"Where does this go, Honey?" He asked with a charming smile as he walked over her. His hand slipped beneath hers. "Your boyfriends not too clever."

He gently began to pull her back up to her feet. "You're going to have to show him the ways of all this advance technolomergy."

Kurt gave her his most winning smile.

Blue eyes flickered in a few quick blinks as Kurt lifted her back up from her comfy position sitting.

"Oh." She hadn't actually considered the fact that he might not know how to work the terminal. "Sorry." Her face flushed a light rose color as she guided him back to the terminal. It was a pretty small thing, and the HoloDisc itself simply slid inside the small arm that popped out at the press of a button. Jamie pointed towards it on the left side, then pressed down with her finger. "There." She said, directing Kurt towards the opening.

"Once it's about halfway in the arm will catch and pull it the rest of the way."

Jamie waited for him to follow her instruction before tugging on his hand back towards the seat. "Have you never used one of those before?"

She wondered for a moment how many other things she simply took for granted that Kurt hadn't really ever been exposed to.

Kurt plopped himself down in the recliner that Jamie had sat in earlier, making himself comfortable before gently pulling on Jamie's hand so that she would sit in his lap.

"No." He admitted to her as he got comfortable.

The Courier wasn't ashamed of that fact, had no reason to be. Tatooine was admittedly a bit more low-tech than many other planets in the galaxy. They didn't have the same advantages that others did, and even in standard stuff like...holo-vid players they usually didn't get the latest stuff. Again Arceneau Trade was pretty good at keeping the important things up to date, but when it came to moisture farmers like Kurt's parents? Well there were other priorities.

"That's why I have you though." Kurt said as Jamie sat in his lap. "I just wait for you to show me everything."

A shrug rolled over his shoulder as his arms wrapped around her.

Each chair was more than large enough to comfortably accommodate two so she was happy lounging in his lap when Kurt pulled her down onto himself.

"Oh. I see."

Leaning back she pulled up her legs and rested them against the head of the chair in front of them as the screen flickered on. "So I have to do everything?"

She squinted her eyes at him in a glare, "Maybe we'll just have to enroll you in classes here."

The glare turned into a mild grin. "For your own benefit of course."

Kurt would never find himself more bored in his life if she subjected him to the same kind of studies she'd grown up doing. Back when Kurt was out podracing she was likely learning how to properly stitch a tear in fabric, or how to properly arrange silverware and plates. The only thing more dreadfully dull? Law and ethics debate.

He frowned for a second.

"You realize that I ditched classes back on Tatooine, right?" Of course there was no actual school system back on his homeworld, rather it had been a rather elaborate voluntary educational system set up by Arceneau Trade. The classes had all been free, materials had been provided, and the subjects had ranged through everything that regular schools systems did. Yet it didn't have the same sort of structure as one would find on Naboo or other civilized worlds.

His fingers slowly slipped beneath her shirt, resting on her stomach as he wiggled about and made himself a bit more comfortable in the chair.

"Your schools couldn't handle me." He told her with a smile as the film slowly began."The teacher would quit inside of a week."

Plus, there was the fact that Kurt didn't really consider himself smart enough for school.

He had done well enough at the Republic's Naval academy, but that had mostly been simple instinct. Math, memorization, everything else that was necessary to do good at school weren't exactly things that Kurt excelled at. A return to any sort of classroom environment would likely be extremely embarrassing for him.

Not that he'd admit it. "Though if you want to dress up as a schoolgirl to encourage me..."

"Don't get ahead of yourself." She quipped, turning back to look at Kurt. "We didn't have uniforms."

Besides, it was unlikely that Kurt would be accepted into any of the system's programs given his foreign status and age. He could opt to pay for courses and such, but as for their schooling system, Kurt was far too old for that now. Besides, Jamie didn't really expect him to actually do it. She was more so just teasing him with the idea of making him go back to school.

The lights in the room dimmed as the HoloVid began to play, prompting Jamie to settle back into Kurt's lap, leaning herself back, head against his left shoulder.

"Maybe I'll just have to teach you myself."

Slowly Kurt smirked, kissing her neck lightly.

School had never been his cup of tea. He'd never been the type to actually want to sit down and learn, he'd rather get up and go somewhere. It was odd considering his parents were both academic, scientists that had developed weapons for the Sith Empire.

”Teach me huh?” They were probably picturing very different scenarios, though Kurt suspected she'd like his just as much as her own.

He kissed her neck.

”Will you punish me if I don't learn fast enough?” He mused as he kissed her neck again

The blonde sat up and turned halfway towards Kurt, voices in the background coming from the HoloVid. Her eyes half closed as she offered Kurt a harsh glare.

"You just think you're so coy."

Her thumb and index finger pinched together atop his thigh, a small, playful prick against his skin. "Careful what you ask for."

She smirked, seeing the moment of grimace pass over his face before she released him and settled back down.

"You may not like the punishment."

The small beeping on her wrist let her know that it was about time to baste the Shaak to prevent it from drying. A glance down and a press of the button on the device silenced the noise. Hands pressed against either side of the chair as she began to lift herself up from Kurt's lap. "I gotta check on the food."

"I'm sure we can find a middle-ground." He told her with a smirk, his face contorting a bit from the bite of pain on his leg.

She could be cruel when she wanted to be.

He frowned for a moment as she paused the film and slowly began to push herself up. Amusement ran through him as he pictured her rushing back and forth between the theater and the kitchen every fifteen minutes. He thought it might have been easier just to get a droid of some sort do the job. In fact they probably had one, though it had likely been taken by Jamie's parents along with most everything else.

As she stood before him she'd find his palm quickly smacking down on her rear. "I'm a very good negotiator."

He smirked as she glared down at her.

The blonde let out a small yelp as his hand found its' mark on her behind, turning quickly to scowl at him whilst rubbing the assaulted area.

"I'm not sure where you learned to negotiate, Mr. Meyer, but that's not how you treat a lady."

She poked out her tongue and headed for the doorway that led back towards the kitchen.

"I'll be back." Jamie opened and quickly closed the door behind her after, trotting off to the kitchen to check the Shaak, baste the meat and shift the vegetables within the oven before resetting the timer for another fifteen minutes. The smell that poured from within as she opened the door, the heat hitting her first followed by the aroma was incredible, reminiscent of her grandmother's cooking.

A smile crossed her as she lingered for a moment.

He smirked at her as she began to head out the door, calling after her. "It is when it's how my lady asks to be treated."

"Or need I remind you what you told me earlier?" The reminder would likely cause a blush, but that was the intent.

As soon as she turned the corner Kurt leaned back in the chair. His head tipping back against the plush of the headrest and his eyes closing. Surprisingly, even after everything that had happened today he wasn't all that tired. Their fun in the pool, the conversation they'd had, everything else and Kurt still felt like he had enough energy to run a marathon. Perhaps it was the simple fact that for the first time in weeks he felt like he could actually relax.

There was still things to deal with, Kaile, the baby on the way, and of course financial worries, but...he had Jamie.

That was more than enough to at least put his mind at ease, and perhaps for the first time in what seemed like an age he would actually be able to sleep. That thought alone made him as giddy as a school kid, sleep had been rare since he and Jamie had their argument back in that hospital.

Rest would do him good.

The door of the theater creaked slowly back open as Jamie pushed on it, a bit of light saturating the back rows of seats as she entered. Her fingers slipped free of the door and it swung closed, the metallic latch clicking to signifying it had closed behind her while she made her way back to where she'd been sitting with Kurt before.

He wouldn't have seen the red blotches on her cheeks as she left earlier, but she hadn't forgotten what he'd said either.

Climbing back into his lap she twisted her head to look at him with a half serious stare.

"That's not fair, you know."

She shook her head, tossing blonde strands of hair about. "You can't use that to prove your point if it's not something you would say in front of others."

Some things were private talk in a manner of speaking. Things she said for him only.

For a few seconds he kept his eyes closed, even as she settled in his lap and he wrapped his arms around her he kept them that way. Kurt simply enjoyed the scent of her, the feel of her back in his arms, the slightly wiggle of her rear as she made herself comfortable and half turned to face him. Only when she spoke did he open his eyes, bright blue meeting bright blue. He smiled at her as she spoke, his arms growing just a little bit tighter as he tugged her closer.

"Well." Kurt began as he pressed a gentle kiss against her cheek. "To be fair I don't think I'd smack your ass in front of others."

The Courier pointed out. His mother had raised him well after all. He would never treat Jamie like that in front of others, not when her reputation was on the line. She had explained more than once what the nobility was like on Naboo, and how certain things could tarnish her image. Being seen with a farmboy's hands up your skirts while surrounded by people...well that was probably about as bad as you could actually get. "So I think as long as we're alone I should get to do as I please."

He nuzzled her neck.

"You know, create a sort of balance to it all." It made sense, in a very Kurt sort of way.

"As you please? I don't know about that." She teased, "If I just let you do as you please what fun will that be for me?"

Not that he didn't already more or less do as he pleased, but she enjoyed teasing him a bit all the same. Jamie turned back towards the large screen, wiggling a bit atop Kurt to get comfortable again. A pair of fingers danced lazily on his forearm while she watched the movie. Small snippets of laughter here and there broke the silence between the two as the film rolled.

It was nice, being able to simply sit and enjoy the afternoon, tensions of all sorts being released finally. She too looked forward to sleeping beside Kurt for once after all the time that had passed. Jamie found that she always slept better when he was beside her, even if she couldn't pin why exactly it was. Perhaps just the feeling of security, and the warmth of his body beside hers made it easier to rest her head.

"I think you have plenty of fun when I do as I please." He told her quietly as she settled herself down and the movie resumed playing.

The film was much as he remembered it, and the two of them watched in relative silence. Kurt broke out into small fits of laughter far more frequently than Jamie did, finding enjoyment in the smaller more immature jokes that had been inserted into the movie. The style of the film was a bit older, something that one could tell from the angles and equipment actually used within the vessel itself. The Courier chuckled still though, finding a great amount of entertainment in all of it.

He smiled slightly, glancing at Jamie every now and again to check that she was enjoying herself.

His hand slipped beneath her shirt, thumb slowly stroking across her stomach in a comforting motion. "Favorite part."

The Courier whispered to her as the film began to transition into a little bit more chaos, the humor becoming a little bit more slapstick in nature.

"I didn't argue that." She said very matter-of-fact, smile still on her face as she turned back by Kurt's cue. It had been a long time since having seen this HoloVid. It was definitely aged, as was obvious by the overall look of the movie itself, but this was after all her parents collection for the most part. It was still humorous, though Kurt seemed to enjoy it far more than she, laughing and snickering at much more often.

Several times more the timer on her wrist signaled time to revisit their meal and check on its' progress before both the movie and food was finished.

One final time the device sounded off as the credits scrolled, making perfect time.

"Dinner should be done now too." She chirped, hopping back up and off of Kurt's now likely asleep legs. "It smelled really good last time I checked on it. I'm pretty excited."

"I bet it will be delicious." Kurt said as he dragged himself up and off the recliner, his feet betraying him slightly as he felt pins and needles stabbing all over his skin. For a second The Courier half danced around, trying to get some of the feeling back in his extremities. Eventually he managed to curl his toes without that odd sort of prickle to them, and the shot Jamie a smile.

Almost as if on cue his stomach let out a loud growl.

"Oh." Kurt said as he glanced down. "Guess I worked up an appetite."

His hand quickly came to settle on the small of Jamie's back as she stood up from turning off the projector, a smile painted on her face that matched the two of them. They quickly headed out of the theater and down the hall, the light within the estate having notably dropped as the sun quickly set on the Horizon. "Do you want me to set the table?"

He asked her as they passed into the Kitchen.

The blonde poked at Kurt's belly in reaction to the growling sound coming from him.

"I guess you have!" She laughed, turning half towards the door leading out. "That would be great if you wouldn't mind. That way I can take everything out of the oven while you do that." There was most definitely going to be leftover food, the meat itself was enough for four people alone. The vegetables only added to that. Most of it she would offer to Kurt to take with him, as she rarely ever got around to eating leftover food.

The closer they got to the kitchen the more the smell of the cooked Shaak could be smelled. Coupled with the marinated vegetables within the same pan it made for a delightful aroma. "The plates are to the right of the sink in the top cabinet. Silverware is in the drawer in the center island. Glasses you can see in the windowed cabinet beside the refrigerator."

While Kurt gathered the plates and silverware she would see to removing the meat from the oven and begin cutting it into oval shaped pieces.

Setting the table was just about the one task in the Kitchen that Kurt was actually reliable for.

That and doing the dishes had pretty much been the primary function of his life growing up. His mother had always told him to do those two particular things every day, like clockwork. Thus the Courier listened carefully when Jamie instructed him on where everything was, and as soon as she was finished he set about diligently setting everything up.

For a moment when he reached the table he frowned slightly, realizing that the thing was big enough for a family of eight to all sit around at once. He considered for just a few seconds, then placed their plates opposite one another at one end of the table. He really didn't feel like sitting ten feet away from Jamie during their meal, and sitting beside one another would have felt a bit weird. The Courier quickly slipped a knife and fork to either side of the plates, then returned to the kitchen for glasses.

"That smells good." He said as he wandered behind Jamie, placing a quick kiss on her cheek.

A second later he plucked two cups from the cabinet, wandering behind Jamie and placing those on the table as well.

A crystalline platter was where she set the half dozen slices of Shakk, encircled by the variety of mixed vegetables that had simmered alongside the Shaak in the seasoned sauce that she had mixed together as well. While Kurt went about setting the table she covered the rest of the food with a wrap to ensure it stayed hot until they were finished.

Clean up could wait until they were finished. Typically she cleaned as she went, but she was in a rather hurry to actually eat, as it sounded like Kurt was as well.

Taking the platter by the handles on either end she carefully walked the food into the dining area and set it atop two stone slates off to the side of each plate within reaching distance. Looking down she noticed the manner in which Kurt arranged the table settings and couldn't help but giggle at the sight. He had arranged the silverware in a peculiar way, a way she wasn't quite used to.

A single fork and a knife sat opposite one another, separated by the plate in the middle. She didn't say anything, but the smirk on her face remained while she bounced her way to the wine rack and pulled free a bottle before turning towards Kurt.

"What would you like to drink?"
