In Exis (Lady Kay)

Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist

Matsu was looking at her as she gave a nod of her head. "I am hoping on the side anything that might have been there and is still alive is old, tired and not going to be attacking us." She had a look on her face while going forward towards the trees and she crouched down checking it. The roots of the trees were interwoven strengthening each other before she she brushing at them and it was a dome of carved stone while the holocron hummed. "I am Andur Sunrider and coming this far has ledyou to the site of my grandfathers death. He managed to return to me long enough to tell me what they had found and that I would be a great jedi but he didn't say how. It was not my place to try and know the future in case I tried to influence it. A way to the darkside." Matsu was looking at him as there was more to the report that had been delivered, more about what was down there and where to enter as Matsu reached out to open the doorway leading down into it. An old metal ladder covered in growth and roots all around while she moved smelling the decayed air.

Kay furrowed her brows as she watched and listened. Knowing the future was a way to the Darkside? How interesting. And odd at the same time.

The secret door caught her by surprise. Not to mention the ladder. "Maybe it was sealed for a reason? If his grandfather died there, it might have been for going down there. Are you sure that we should go?" She wasn't so sure about exploring in dark tunnels.

Matsu looked at Kay now and put her hands on her hips giving a Peter Pan style pose while she thought about it. "Is it the smart plan... no, is it the daring and fun plan.... Yes. I don't know what is down there and who knows what we might be able to find down there or if anything still remains." She was letting her eyes drift down before jumping a little and grabbing the ladder as she found a good position and slid her boots to the side with her hands. letting her slide down into the depths of the dome while she felt the darkside like a sticky sap clinging to her skin and slowing down her descent.

Kay couldn't help but smirk and laugh inside as Matsu spoke of it not being a good decision. And her playful attitude was uplifting. She watched as she slid down the ladder. Oh boy. Kay wasn't going to be that reckless. Instead she climbed down the ladder the proper way, step by step, letting her eyes slowly adjust to the darkness on her way down.

"I didn't come all this way to have you go off by yourself, just try to be a bit more cautious, please?" Especially as there seemed to be more darkness down here than just a lack of light.

As she came to the floor the jedi master looked up when Kay was speaking. "Promise." She could be careful more so but looking around at the shadows while the holocron on her belt was humming and pulsing. Her hand gripping it as she lifted it up to the armband as it unlocked. The prismatic lights from it illuminating the room as the image of a teenager appeared. "You've followed the clues and come this far, after my grandfathers ghost told me to become a jedi I came here. To find his body, there wasn't much left, there wasn't even what they had been searching for. Just chests and crates of artifacts taken from local ruins." She could see the map and coordinates in the galaxy were updating leading to another world... leading to Ambria. Her head buzzed a little while the saber seemed to resonate with the inclination. She knew the story and history of what happened next though. Te ghost that liked to talk to her through her lightsaber told her.... Totally not crazy as the jedi master held a glow rod and was looking around. The crates and whatever they had found were still here as she was lookign through it lifting at the dust and pieces. Datacrons and old holocrons with vases and decorative plates. "Doesn't look like there is much left here, these might come in handy and teach some things though."

Kay studied their surroundings while listening to the holocron as it spoke. As Matsu started going through the crates, so did she. The decorative plates were beautiful, but she didn't dare take them. She was only looking.

"Are we on the move again, then?"

Looking at her as she thought about it grabbing the holocrons ad setting them in her belt. She'd check it later while turnign to see Kay as she spoke. "We will be but there is stuff here still, the information might be able to help us down the road.. or something you never know." Look at the walls and illuminating it with a glow rod while everything was lite green. "I am not about rushing to far ahead as fast as we can, I rather am enjoying spending some time with you. Though last politician I was alone with I got engaged to marry."

Kay laughed a little at the thought of being alone with a politician, only to end up marrying them afterwards. But she didn't dare ask what had happened, for that would certainly cause her to have to speak again about her husband's death and she had done that far too much already. No. This little venture was to be separate from everything else going on in her life.

"I'm all for exploring. I just don't think that we should take too much. Those that follow us years down the road might need some clues too."

Matsu thought about that and could agree with it, they didn't need to take anything but filling a pocket or bag with some would be find and they could always add new things like clues. Her hands were shifting and grabbing at a datapad as she started adding what information she could with her fingers rapidly tapping. The paragraphs loading in the buffer as force enhanced speeder made her type faster then it could process her entry. The notes about the holocron and where they might be able to find a new clue on Ambria before she finished and left it sitting on one of the crates. Replacing the area in her pocket with a small triangular holocron, she looked at the prismatic one on her belt and couldn't find much else that had been here, signs others had over the years and removed or added crates but her clues were more visiting coordinates before she turned to look at Kay. "Don't have to take everything but we can leave one or two things. Only things that might be dangerous should be removed though." She tapped the holocron just in case and motioned. "If you are ready, one of those plates might look nice in a display."

Kay watched her type like a mad woman, her fingers moving almost in a blur. And then she went about collecting more things after setting the datapad down.

At the suggestion of gathering a plate, Kay pondered as she looked them over. "I suppose..." She reached over and picked out the plainest one of the bunch. At least it would leave something worth while for future generations. She then wrote in the dust on one of the crates, -Lady Kay and Matsu Ike were here, having come and gone with the utmost respect.- She looked up at her friend and smiled. "I'm ready to go now."

Matsu looked at her and gave a nod of her head, heading back up the ladder quickly as she got out into the trees and waited for Kay to ascend. The woman was different then others she had met and going on this with little thought of a reward was something she had been surprised about. It didn't mean she wasn't going to try and give her something. The jedi master knew many tricks and a few things, she'd see that Kay got it even if the force sensitive politician was that humble. The least one could do while going forward back towards the ship and bringing up a map in her palm holo as she set the new coordinates towards Ambria to sync up with the computers. Her head turned around looking at the woman as she offered a smile though. "You are surprising, more respect then most jedi I have seen and you are a politician... A rare thing."

Kay followed her up the ladder, glad to be above ground. She took in a deep breath and then let it out. Fresh air. There was nothing better! She followed Matsu towards her ship. "Is it a rare thing? I would've figured that most people that weren't career politicians would be this way. Surely I can't be the only one..."

"I have seen jedi who don't care as much as you do. Most seem interested only in themselves then the tenet of respecting all life." She said it while heading towards the ship and having the course set as Matsu was going over a few things and looked at Kay. "You should use this time to sleep, Ambria can be a dangerous place and the lake there if you are not careful can corrupt those who feel the force and drink from its waters." Matsu was moving while her attention was on her gear and putting it down as she set the holocron on the desk in her room and took care to have the open com should Kay need anything in her cabin.

"Many Jedi are at war right now, which would be why their respect for life has dwindled." At the suggestion for some sleep, Kay nodded her head. "I will sleep a little. Hopefully you'll do the same." She bowed her head before going to her cabin. She set her satchel aside and then curled up on the bed. A lake that corrupts others? It must be fuelled by the Darkside. Kay pondered on that thought as she drifted off to sleep.

The travel from Krayiss to Ambria was more then enough time to get a shower in the fresher and some sleep, as she came out drying her hair and laying down. They had more then earned a good night sleep while her attention moved towards the bed while she laid down and was going to sleep. Reflecting on the journey and all that she had been learning and seeing, her eyes closing while the chrono on the nightstand counted down to wake her up before they arrived. The rest of the journey there in silence as finally Matsu awoke to the beeping of the chrono and she looked out at the star map showing them above and heading down toward Ambria. The lake was something she could feel from here before she was getting dressed and ready to head down. The sounds of the holocron as she touched it to the armband and the image of the woman came. Her lightsaber resonating with it as she spoke. "Andur died, criminals killed him while I held my daughter and I came here, to follow his legacy and my daughter followed with me. We learned from the man who was to become Andurs master and he taught me some of his greatest secrets."

Kay had had a lovely sleep. The fresh air had done her good. Her dreams were interwoven memories and thoughts of the day, leaving her with a restful night. She woke up earlier than Matsu did, having had all of the rest that she needed. So as she was up, she had prepared herself some tea in the kitchen area. She didn't use the fancy machine. Instead she had used her own supply. The tea had a heartier taste to it that way, more fulfilling to her. But that was probably just her imagination.

Her thoughts dwelled onto the lake and she wondered how it was that a lake could corrupt someone.

Matsu was ready to work now as she had her tea and some food with a grin on her face looking at Kay. The holocron was there as she moved around holding it out with the prism activating while the image of Nomi holding a child in her arms. "We came here to Ambria, staying by the lake for three days until Thon found us. He led us away from the lake explaininghow the ghosts of many sith were trapped beneath it and the waters held their corruption. The hatred and bloodlust for revenge of dozens of evil beings. It was more then enough to warn us but he wanted us to be able to resist it from the earliest stages of our training. He was a wise master but not always the most friendly choosing to teach Vima as well so she could become something greater then all of us." Matsu was looking at it and then at Kay as she felt a rush with a grin on her face. "I think I am more then ready to go and see what they have for us now aren't you?"

Now she understood about the lake. Listening to the holocron as she sipped her tea, Kay tried to picture it. But how did it corrupt? Must one drink from it? Or do the trapped souls whisper? It was hard to say and she didn't feel the most comfortable about it. But Matsu seemed eager and not worried. "Perhaps. But we should be cautious as well and not underestimate this lake." Just the idea of it gave her the chills.

Matsu gave her a nod as she showed several bottles of water in a pack for them. "No chances, I have seen darkside nexuses and they are very good at being deceptive. We'll have our own water for safety and..." She trailed off opening the doors while looking out and the world seemed muted in color as the darkside emanated from the lake. Matsu started down towards the area away from the lake watching the map she had leading them towards a large canyon and where they had been staying. The jedi master had her saber ready to grab should they need it. The hssiss on the planet were dangerous but they could find them with the dirt and mud if they were coming at them.

The doors opening seemed to have distracted Matsu. It took a few moments as Kay approached, but she soon figured out why the sudden silence. Seeing the world almost devoid of colour gave her an uneasy feeling. It was so....unnatural.

She followed in behind, her satchel at her side, eyes ever watchful for danger.
