[Insert Pun Here]: Contruum Invasion OOC

I just wanted to give a shout out to [member="Barrien Siegfried"] and to SWRP Chaos. It has been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a duel or invasion. Thank you Barrrien for the duel and thank you Chaos for having a decent system in place where writers can enjoy their stories. :)

With the invasion drawing to a close, I hope we can come up with something soon. I do not mind calling it a draw, but I always find decisive battles more alluring. Either or though, has been enjoyable, and interesting!

PS. Totes gonna knark on you Mullarus!! :p

Technically you can't deny anyone if they want to fight you in an invasion.

Now I am getting mixed signals. If above is true, the invasions rule are in a terrible poor shape. I could simply find acolytes and force myself on them for 90% certain wins. The idea is always to find a match, unless one self is challanged by a lower tier.
Also without any ooc contact previous to battle he just leaped into the fight saving [member="Agamemnon"] and agamemnon has already posted his reply. I feel tricked and made a fool of.

[member="Darth Carach"] - I do not want to write you (can it be clearer). Come out and make an ooc response please.
please remove your post and [member="Agamemnon"] edit yours accordingly. I have ovelooked late posting with you before (when you forgot our fight) and I can do it again to sort this mess.

I was sleeping. Just like you had your party, I also had things to do outside the board.

Anyway, I am kinda done with this attitude. This is an invasion. An invasion is an open thread to both parties, where people can engage one another - if you want to lock yourself down in a private realm where nobody else can touch you, create a duel thread or a private thread.

Two times now I got told there was a fight I could join by my admins, and yet again I am being fed the same old story.

So as far as I am concerned my post still stands, but it isn't my job to decide what goes and doesn't go in this invasion, that's on the FAs. So let them make the decision.

Alright, I think I have made my point clear. I do not want to write with you in this invasion, but yes - since we dont agree and you obviously want to write with me I think we reached a point where it is up to FAs.
Mean while I suggest we put a pause on the posting. Can we agree to that?

So a word from FAs would be nice.

I remember seeing a post from Reverance in which it was made very, very clear you do NOT simply join an existing duel without permission.

Not aware that stance has changed.

People, for the purposes of this invasion, you are expected to communicate with your opponents before engaging them. It's courtesy and it will be extended. That starts now.

An addendum, if you are having trouble finding an opponent, please private message me and Taeli and we will work to find you someone to write with.
Not sure you can make it any clearer :)

[member="Corvus Raaf"]

That rule stipulates you contact your opponent beforehand to establish a line of communication. Makes things easier for the fight. It does not say you require their permission to engage them.

Let me be clear- you failed to make it a rule for this invasion that all fights are 1v1 unless otherwise agreed upon. That's what the Primeval did on Ziost and it worked wonders for them. It was in their invasion terms. It's not in the terms for this invasion.

LOL - I didn't make any rules. I'm not an FA.

This board used to run on the minimum of rules and common sense and courtesy applied.

It's a sad indictment of CHAOS if we have to create rules to manage the minority' that lack either.

Not a criticism of you BTW. But to extend your logic, I'm not aware there's a rule that says you HAVE to accept a new writer into your 1:1 :)

That's because there isn't one. Many people will roll with the punches, but as Reverence pointed out that you are to engage in conversation OOC before posting in a fight, Carach kind of didn't adhere to that, which gives Mantic grounds for saying no, and telling him to back off.

It's common courtesy, people. Joining the tail end of the fight in effort to sway it (duel sniping) is bad form.

We've taken the issue to PM guys. No need to stir it further.

In case it's unclear to folks how invasions work, these invasion terms (and their lack of opposing writer permission for duels) were agreed upon by BOTH factions before the invasion started. If there was an issue with it, it should have been solved before the terms were released.

That would be the way to ensure the least amount of confusion over this issue IMO.
