Private Into the Rabbit's Hole

Angonous sighed when Rowena refused to kneel, this wasn't the time to worry frivolous things such as her white dress which she insists that it's dirty even though upon closer inspection it was still immaculate. Well at least she was hiding behind a tree but still she still stuck out in this artificial rainforest, Agonous sighed before staring at the spaceport. "I'm not leaving you," he said. "I'm just-"

The Sith Lord eyes rose up in shock as he saw the Rakghouls carrying the bloody carcasses onto a large pile. "Look in the corner," Angonous whispered to Rowena. "The Rakghoul are gathering bodies, but why?"

His body entire body froze, another disturbance in the force. Before Angonous grabbed his Lightsaber, a net dropped on Rowena covering her multiple roars were then accompanied. "ROWENA!" Angonous ignited his Lightsaber only for him to be tackled by a human infected Rakghoul. His weapon flew from his hand and Agnonous found himself struggling against the beast.

Well that gave her a bit of a sense of relief. Darth Angonous Darth Angonous wasn't planning on leaving her. She didn't want to be there alone while he wandered off. Even behind the tree she felt vulnerable. A part of her screamed that they should leave and get further away.

But no. The pile of bodies caught their attention. Rowena's jaw tightened as she had never come across such carnage in one place before. It was disgusting and for a brief moment she thought about the families that were now smaller. No doubt that in time her own family would be informed that she was missing.

Her thoughts were interrupted as the net fell overtop of her. Rowena gasped as the netting pulled her back and tightened itself around her. "ANG!!!" She stumbled back and lost her footing, causing her to fall backwards. There was nothing for her to hold onto but the net, so she fell hard on her back. A high pitched scream escaped her as she struggled to free herself. She couldn't see Angonous, she couldn't see him fight his own monster. She could only focus on the net and trying to work her way out of it.

Rowena's scream was fuel for Angonous' rage, tapping into the force he grabbed the human infested Rakghoul by the temples utilizing his force strength to crush monster's head. Pieces of his head began to spread all over Angonous' face like a Watermelon as the rest of its body fell limp on to his chest. Pushing the corpse off him, Angonous summoned his Lightsaber rushing to the three Rakghouls who were trying to haul Rowena away.

The Sith Lord force pushed one of the creatures and he was slammed back first onto the oak tree. The rest of the Rakghouls began to drag the net containing Rowena and began to flee.

Oh the horror! Her dress was dirty!! No doubt her hair was a mess too! The dirt and grime that was sure to be building up on the beautiful white fabric and her luscious brown locks was surely enough to make her shudder in disgust. Oh she was going to need a real spa treatment after this....

Rowena could see Darth Angonous Darth Angonous trailing after them now, as she was being dragged along the forest floor. "Ang! Hurry!" She stated the obvious. Of course she wanted him to hurry. Every inch of dirt that she was dragged along only got her dress in worse and worse shape. "Kill them all!" Rowena was by no means a pacifist. And when it came to monsters, well...they needed to be dealt with by whatever means necessary.

"Hang on!" Darth Angonous leapt high in the air and with the force surrounding his fist slammed it on to the ground. The two Rakghouls were flown into the air while the Sith Lord jumped, activated his Lightsaber and reduced them into bite sized chunks. The two Rakghouls limbs immediately fell onto the ground as Angonous landed. More roars were heard from afar and soon the entire forest was filled with the dreaded Rakghoul shriek. It seems that they found Angonous and Rowena and were ready to descend upon them.

"Rowena," Angonous bent down removing the net from her and slowly bring her to her feet. "Are you okay?" he whispered as he wrapped his arm around her dirtied body. There wasn't any injuries but he had a feeling that Rowena would be horrified by her now dirtied dress and messy hair. "We have to keep moving," he whispered hugging her close. "The Rakghouls picked up our scent we need to stay out of sight until they disperse."

The ground shook as Darth Angonous Darth Angonous threw himself upon it in an embattled rage. Rowena's trapped body was thrown upwards as well, landing with a thunk onto the ground. Upon instinct she raised her head so that she wouldn't hit it on a rock or some tree root, whatever was around and hidden from her view. The net still firmly kept her bound and she could only hear the battle taking place ahead of her.

Only after Angonous broke her free from the net did she realize that she was holding her breath. Rowena hugged him tightly, her eyes closed as she listened to his whispers. "I'm as good as can be expected. Thank you. But where can we hide? We're trapped in this place." They had to get to the security building. That was the most important thing. The shields needed to be brought down as soon as possible.

Angonous looked around scanning the surrounding area. "There," he said pointing at a wooden house that was hidden between two tall Oak Trees. "Looks like a safehouse of sorts. We can hide there until the worst is over. Probably some people there too." Taking Rowena's hand, the Sith Lord jogged through the forest keeping alert for any Rakghoul ambushes. The only thing that was heard were Rakghoul roars that became louder and louder. The pack of feral beasts were closing in.

After what felt like an eternity, Angonous and Rowena arrived at the house. "Here we are," he said. "I'll go in first and see if there's any danger."

Running? Ladies don't run! Their high heeled shoes didn't make it easy, they were meant for strolling. As such, Rowena did her best to keep up with Darth Angonous Darth Angonous , which was made all the easier given that he was holding her hand to help pull her along. The sounds of the Rakghouls also did well to keep her motivated. "What is taking the authorities so long? Can't they just cut the power?" Her words were spoken inbetween her breaths. She wasn't used to such physical activity.

Finally the two made it to the little cabin. Civilization at last. "Please let there be nothing bad in there...." Her heart was racing and she was still trying to catch her breath, all the while trying to maintain her composure.

Rowena was right, they weren't that far off from the Casino clearly the authorities would've heard their distress call by now and mobilize. Angonous sighed deeply, Casino security usually responded fast but what was the hold up? Unless..... Angonous shook his head as he held Rowena's hand tightly. They couldn't possibly think to use that option not with two survivors here? Then again the Sith would've employed that same tactic. Right now though it wasn't the time to think of what the security would possibly do. Angonous' top priority is to keep Rowena safe, he attempted to open the door but the metal refused to budge.

"Please pay the entry fee," the A.I said. "Slide your Credit Chit through the slot."

The Sith Lord shook his head, he didn't have any credits on him at the moment. Perhaps Rowena has some..... if she didn't lose her purse that is. "Rowena," he said. "Do you have any credits?"

Something was up. Rowena could tell by the way that Darth Angonous Darth Angonous tightened his grip on her hand and shook his head. He was obviously worried about something. One look behind her didn't reveal any of the monsters tailing them, so what was it?

The sound of the A.I. distracted her, however, bringing her back to the present. "Oh of all the ridiculous...." She sighed, shaking her head in disapproval as she rummaged through her purse. "It's a security lockdown situation, and still they demand credits?" With a scoff she produced a chip and slid it into the slot. This resort was surely going to get a really bad review.

"Thank you for compensation," the A.I said. "Have a pleasant stay." The door immediately slid open while Angonous shook his head, even during a pandemic the pursuit of profit never ends. A pathetic attachment to have compared to the power of the Force. "I'll go in first," he whispered to Rowena slowly walking into the room.

The Cabin was surprisingly big for for what it was, large black sofas, a Holocomputer though it looked like it was out of commission. Two bottles of Brandy lay on the on table. The lights turned on as soon as Angonous stepped in and he was greeted with a cool air. "Come on in," he said to Rowena staring at the bathroom and turning on the fossitt. The water was running and there was also a shower, it was a nice place. Rowena would love it.

Rowena waited outside of the door as Darth Angonous Darth Angonous checked the suite over. She was used to guards and security sweeping rooms that she was to stay in, so neither of this was out of the ordinary.

However the Rakghouls that seemed intent on preying on them sure were. Rowena turned and looked back at where they had come from, shuddering inside of herself as she imagined many scenarios as to why they seemed to want her alive.

And just look at her dress! She was such a horrible mess, with dirt stains and wear on the once beautiful white fabric. Wisps of her hair that previously was well kept in the perfect updo were now hanging out all over the place. Oh this was hell.

Angonous interrupted her thoughts. Rowena cleared her throat and then turned to step inside. "Oh thank heavens, it's untouched..." She wanted to just flop into the bed and hide under the covers until this was all over, but she wasn't alone. Instead she walked over to one of the bottles of brandy and opened it. "Where do you suppose they hide the glasses?"

"Have a seat Rowena," Angonous said looking around the room. "The glasses are probably the kitchen somewhere." He wondered why no one bothered to come here. Then again the A.I did ask for credits and of course a panicking person would've been devoured trying to find some. Looking through the large rooms, Angonous found a laudary place where Rowena could wash her clothes.

"Found something for your dirty dress," Angonous shouted. "An automatic washing machine could get your dress spotless."

The Sith Lord approached the kitchen where he found some wine glasses sitting near the sink. Taking two, Angonous headed back to where Rowena was at placing them on the table. "So you should wash up first," he said. "Before drinking I'm sure you want to be clean right now."

Rowena watched Darth Angonous Darth Angonous as he moved in and out of view, checking the cabin over. At the mention of a washing machine, she was delighted. But then again she wasn't anywhere safe. And she didn't have a change of clothes.

When he returned, she poured the brandy into the glasses, taking her own and having a sip. "I would love nothing more than a huge bath filled with bubbles to soak in, however, the last thing that I need is to escape out of the tub with nothing but a towel should those monsters break into here. I think that decorum dictates that not taking care of my appearance straight away is entirely justified." Oh but looking the way that she did irked her. However she kept herself poised and proper as a Lady should.

"I've spotted a bathrobe in the bathroom," Angonous said sitting on the soft couch. "I'm sure you can survive wearing a bathrobe while your dress washes which won't take too long. I've seen those washing machines, the Z-20 Mr.Clean special can make your clothing spotless within minutes." He looked around and sighed there wasn't a sign of any Rakghouls he figured it won't be best to bunk here for the night and explore in the morning. "Go and wash yourself Rowena," Angonous said taking a sip of alcohol. "It seems that we're safe tonight."

"Well as long as you are certain..." She had another sip of her brandy and then got to her feet, moving towards the bathroom and feeling better and better with each step. She closed the door behind her and turned on the hot water, allowing it to steam up as she prepared herself not for a bath, but for a delightful hot shower.

Twenty minutes later she stepped out of the bathroom, covered in the snuggly bathrobe and obviously in brighter spirits. Being clean was certainly better than being dirty. Her dress was washed, yet it needed to hang to dry. Bypassing Darth Angonous Darth Angonous , she returned to her spot on the couch with her brandy in hand and tucked her feet underneath her. "The shower's free for you to wash up."

Taking another sip of Brandy, Angonous allowed himself to relax trying to use the force to sense for any Rakghouls. But yet he wasn't able to feel any of them as though there were staying away from this area or were busy someplace else. The only good thing was that Rowena was safe and was obviously happy when she passed Angonous to sit down across from him. "I'm good," Angonous said. "I don't want to leave you alone even if it's for a few minutes besides I can't sense any Rakghouls around this area. It's possible that they're starting to build their nest."

Rowena gave a sly smile. "Don't want to leave me alone for even a few minutes? I was in the shower for a little while. Don't tell me that you were spying on me in there..." She watched Darth Angonous Darth Angonous to see his reaction. Would he blush? Give a sly smile in return? It was hard for her to guess for right now it could go either way.

The mention of the Rakghouls brought her back to reality, however. They were still out there and even though she did her best to maintain her poise and composure, she couldn't help but look to the windows as if waiting for the monsters to appear.

"Build their nest? And what does that mean?"

Angonous gave Rowena a small smile at her cheeky response. She was teasing him a very good sign that she feels safe. "Maybe not that much," he chuckled. "I'm too much of a gentleman to even entertain that notion." Angonous was a serious person but that didn't mean that he could dish out some snark every now and then. The Sith Lord took another sip of brandy staring at the window besides them.

"When a Rakghoul reaches the surface," he said. "They start building their nest a place where they can start to multiply. You saw them gathering bodies, it means that the Rakghouls are starting the process into turning this place into a nest."

It also means that they need to hurry and shut down that shield. However some rest especially for Rowena was needed before they could proceed.

Too much of a gentleman? Riiiiight. This coming from a self proclaimed Sith Lord. Darth Angonous Darth Angonous was a man, and she could tell that he felt something for her. Was she feeling something as well? Rowena was trying not to. Yet he was quite similar to her husband, both in stature and confidence. He was her type. Maybe that was why she hired him...

Rowena turned her attention back to the situation at hand, sipping her brandy as he explained just what the horrid monsters were doing out there.

"Don't they multiply by affecting others? Like parasites?"
