Private Into the Rabbit's Hole

Angonous could already sense conflict within Rowena, he knew what it was but decided not to act on it. She was a married woman and Angonous had little interest in women growing up feeling that love was just a distraction to greater knowledge of the force. However the Sith Lord can't help but feel some sort of attraction to the woman. "Keep it professional," he thought. There would be nothing good that would come out of breaking Rowena from her marriage. Or could it?

"They do," he said. "Perhaps nest is a misnomer it's of their base of operations," Angonous took another sip of brandy. "We should be lucky that they lost interest in us but we need to find a way to that shield generator and shut it down."

Looking around, Angonous placed his glass on the table and stood up. "There has to be a place where we can contact security." he said. "Surely a place like this has one."

"A base of operations made out of bodies....How utterly vile." She had another sip of her brandy after voicing her thoughts. The drink itself helped to sooth her spirits, yet her training helped to keep her from panicking. Rowena was used to getting her way in the end, and so she was quite confident that she'd get her way here too.

"Check the holoterminal. See if it's got some kind of signal. I was able to use the one in the main building, but we were rushed. The security building may be our only hope. But of couese....we have to get there first...." If the Rakghouls had lost interest in them momentarily, then maybe they could slip away to the security building.

Maybe...

"It is," Angonous said sitting down next to the Holoterminal and accessing the main system. "I can't a signal from here," Angonous began to type in basic access codes but none seemed to enter. "Can you come here my lady?" he asked using his arm to motion her. "I'm having problems accessing the resort's mainframe. You have had more success in cracking into this than I have? Can you help me?"

Rowena raised a brow as Darth Angonous Darth Angonous seemed to be having a bit of trouble with the holoterminal. She was no slicer herself, but she knew well enough when it came to doing research and other things that have kept her plans in motion.

She set down her brandy and then got to her feet, moving towards him as she secured the belt around her bathrobe a little more. Moving in almost behind him, she placed a gentle hand on his shoulder as she leaned forward to look at the terminal herself as her other hand accessed the keyboard. "Before we were in the lobby, so there was more access allowed. Now we're in a cabin. The passcode should be..." Rowena entered the cabin's suite number which was on display at the front door just outside. A few seconds later, the resort's mainframe was made available to them. "There you are. Try it now..."

Rowena's small hand was only blip on Angonous' massive shoulder yet her gentle touch placed him at ease. He actually liked the fact that Rowena was leaning on him. It was awkward but he did his best to ignore it. "Thank you my lady," Angonous said accessing the files that were available to him one of the icons gave a red pulse causing the Sith Lord to frown. Clicking on it, a recorded message began to play: "This Dropship section." A man's voice said beneath the static.

"Can't get a good signal," Angonous frowned trying to access the mainframe in an effort to boost the signal but to no avail. "Fun and Sun- Rakghoul infestation is everywhere evacuate everyone on the pl-Request that we bo-."

"Damn," Angonous sighed as the signal went dead. "The signal fizzled out but at least the security forces are here but what are they saying?"

Whatever the pilot was suggesting it did not sound good.

Rowena's brows furrowed as she tried hard to decipher what little of the message that they could grasp. "Evacuate to a platform, maybe? To access the dropships?" But that didn't make sense as the shields were up. The dropships wouldn't be able to get through.

She clicked her tongue against her teeth as she puzzled it over. "See if you can filter out the static. Drop the message in a sound editor. That should help us to get a little more, I think." Still she hovered over Darth Angonous Darth Angonous , all of her focus on the holoterminal and their teamwork at trying to save themselves.

"They're referring to their callsigns," Angonous replied accessing a program to filter the remaining static. "If I had to guess they're evacuating the entire planet. It's protocol for most planets that has a Rakghoul outbreak." Angonous didn't want to alarm Rowena about the next part which would be bombing the infected area. It was what Darth Malak did to Taris when it had a Rakghoul outbreak thousands of years ago an unfortunate but necessary move.

Ironically Angonous was hoping that the security would at least try to hold off the bombing to look for survivors. As Angonous loaded up the software he realized that he needed a password. "Great," he sighed instinctively grabbing Rowena's small, soft hand. "I'm locked out care to use your woman's touch again?"

"Evacuate? But we're stuck in here..." Evacuation meant death. And she didn't want to die. That wasn't in her plans. THIS wasn't in her plans!

Instinctively Rowena curled her fingers around Darth Angonous Darth Angonous ' hand as he took her own, making herself a silent promise that they were going to get through this situation.

After a moment she let go and turned her attention back to the holoterminal and keyboard. It took a couple of guesses, but she managed to succeed, her knowledge of resorts, casinos and hotels paying off. "There. Somehow we have to get a signal out to let them know we are alive and uninfected before they all up and leave us..."

Angonous smiled turning towards Rowena "you are better than you think you are lady Rowena," he grinned impressed that she managed to access the signal strength. "I'm going to try to send them a message real quick," Angonous said typing furiously on the Holoterminal, hopefully they received the message on time well they did with the uploaded Holotape this morning. "I've sent it," Angonous said seeing the message delivered to the Casino security. "All that's left now is wait until morning and then we can take down that shield."

The Sith Lord sighed leaning against the chair, he hated lying in wait he was person who took action but even he knew that there was time to lie in wait.

Rowena watched Darth Angonous Darth Angonous as he worked on getting the message out. No doubt his fingers could work quicker than her own given that he was a Force User. She straightened herself up, sliding her hand off of his shoulder while he leaned back, her hands moving up to the collar of her bathrobe as she glanced about the room.

"Well, I don't suspect that we'll get any room service. But we should eat something before bed." She turned and headed into the little kitchenet, looking through the cupboards for anything more than little snacks. Nothing looked very appetizing though, or at least not nearly as tastey for her expensive palette.

Angnonous wasn't hungry but nodded in agreement, it would be foolish to spend the night without eating something. He leaned on the chair again while Rowena went into the kitchen in search for food. Angnonous could sense her dissatisfaction with what she found, she was a fancy woman with fancy tastes no doubt. Given that Angonous trained in the harshest jungles of Drumond Kaas with a master who constantly tested his limits the Sith Lord would eat anything that was edible. "Found anything?" Angonous said. "I plan on staying up for the night to keep watch, wondering if you could make me some Coffee? Like some black coffee no sugar."

Sugar was a poison created to have the body destroy itself, Angonous lived most of his live consuming as little sugar as possible. Lean meats and plenty of greens was the way for him. Though occasionally the Sith Lord would go for some dark chocolate or even sip on some black coffee. "Check the upper cupboards," he said. "I'm sure there's some coffee there."

Rowena paused for just a moment as she rolled her eyes with her back towards Darth Angonous Darth Angonous . What was she? His servant? Do this. Do that. This is where you can find coffee, etc.

That moment lasted for just a few seconds, however as she pulled herself together and bottled everything within. "Yes there's coffee. How fortunate." Rowena pulled a small container of it out from one of the cupboards and began prepping the maker. "No sugar? No honey? Don't tell me that you avoid all the sweets in your life." Of course she divulged in it every day, but just a little bit. She did have a figure to maintain. But it wasn't as though she sat around all day anyways. Rowena was usually always on the go. And managing her future and lineage wasn't an easy or stress-free task.

"If there was a food that represented the Light Side," Angonous said. "It would be sugar, it may look inviting but the food damages your body. If I could poison the people of the Galactic Alliance it'll be by putting that stuff into the food of your people. They'll grow and lethargic to the point where it'll be a mercy to kill them all. Sugar is nature's way of killing you with kindness it kills the pancreas, drains your energy, affects your mood. The galaxy has been cursed with sugar. Everyone should burn it, discard it, blow up planets that have a lot of sugar."

The Sith Lord sighed, he can rant all night about the dangers sugar but if he had trouble building up his rage in battle all Angonous had to do was think of how sugar sends the body to their early grave. "I avoid sweets the same way a person avoids not jumping into an ocean full of Sharks," Angonous said crossing his arms.

"My people? Honey, you're talking to the wrong Lady. I'm not a part of your circle of enemies. I am your employer." Rowena listened to him rant and then abruptly shut off the coffee maker, mid-brew. "Killing you with kindness, you say? Well then perhaps you should make yourself your own coffee. I wouldn't want to aid in prematuring your death."

She turned to face Darth Angonous Darth Angonous , holding her gaze on him. "There are other kinds of sweets in the Galaxy that you don't digest. But maybe such a thing is beyond a big shot Force Using Space Wizard like yourself. It's made you blind to what's in front of you."

The sudden realization of what she had said caught up with her. She flicked on the coffeemaker once more and then quickly left the kitchen to the bedroom, closing the door behind her. She didn't slam it, but she needed the escape. Her heart pounded in her chest as she sat at the vanity, staring at herself in the mirror. "Get a hold of yourself, Row...Get a hold of yourself..."

Who knew that Rowena liked sugar so much, how sad but still the last thing they should be doing is fighting. However what piqued Angonous' interest was when Rowena mentioned the fact that sweetness was more than just food and that there were other sweet things that were right in front of him. "Wait? What?" Angonous got up from his chair as Rowena left to her bedroom obviously flustered at what she just said.

The Sith Lord was confused, what did she mean by that? From what little he knew of Rowena, she was the type that kept her true intentions to herself. It was a good reason to because the political game required a person to mask their true emotions. However when one plays the game for too long, then it'll be hard for them to spit out what they mean. A major reason why Angnous hated politics, a person should never hide who they are it's not the way of the Sith. "Rowena," he said approaching her at the bedroom. "What did you mean by that? And please don't lie to me." There was something between them, Angonous can feel it but he didn't tell her. He couldn't, this relationship was supposed to be professional or at least something to be utilized in the future but there was something more. Passion? Love? Perhaps but Angonous wasn't entirely sure how Rowena felt.

As Darth Angonous Darth Angonous spoke just outside the door, Rowena was staring at herself in the mirror. A few seconds prior she was regaining control of herself, however his words caused her heart to beat rather quickly. Why am I so nervous? This is silly! And what am I to say?

Well she certainly couldn't have him wait for too long. For a brief moment she turned in her chair and looked to the door, before taking a deep breath and getting to her feet. She approached the door and opened it part way, her gaze lifting to meet his eyes. Rowena hoped that she could hide the speed of her heart rate from him. But who knows what sort of things a Force User could detect from a person.

When she spoke up she didn't lie. Instead she just distracted from the truth that she was still trying to comprehend herself. "I apologize. I was out of line for calling you a Space Wizard. This situation that we're in is not what I'm used to. I'd rather face rowdy politicians than those monsters..."

Angonous smiled gently placing a hand on Rowena's slender shoulder. "I've been on the battlefield for most of my life," he said. "I've been called way worse than a space wizard. If you're worried about offending me you're not. My skin is as thick as Beskar I won't drop into a fetal position and sob like a servant who pricked their finger."

Only the hard and strong could call themselves Sith, it was earned through blood and survival. These political clapbacks were nothing compared to what Angonous had endured during his training. "Besides the only insult," he smiled. "Is the fact that your hair isn't up like it was this morning. You looked rather..... alluring with your white dress and pinned up hair."

Well at least her comment worked. That was a relief. However the thought of Darth Angonous Darth Angonous falling to the ground in a fetal position crying seemed quite amusing, although in a joking manner.

However his next comment caught her by surprise. Roweena found herself blushing a little, which she tried to cover up by clearing her throat a bit. "Yes, well, after being caught in a net, running for our lives and having had a shower, while also waiting for my dress to dry, it'll be a little while before I am presentable..." Lord knows that waltzing around in a bathrobe was highly unbecoming, nor was it proper.

"Well my lady," Angonous said giving her curt nod. "I suggest you clean up and go to bed," The Sith Lord turned his back on her. "As soon as you wake up we're heading towards the building. Of course I'll give you time to freshen up, even though we haven't know each other long. I know that you value your looks above all else."

Angonous turned around and gave Rowena a smile and a wink, part of him felt a bit out of place. Did he.... just flirt with the woman he protected? Of course he did, there was more to her than just make up and clothing. She had great strength within her, she was married of course but that didn't mean Angonous wouldn't take care of it eventually. Treachery was the way of the Sith after all.

Oh there was a great sigh of relief coming from her as Darth Angonous Darth Angonous spoke of them getting to the security building tomorrow. This will soon be over and she couldn't be happier.

And as she was about to bid him goodnight, she caught the wink and smile. Did he just....? No, no it was just her imagination, surely. "Goodnight..."

Rowena closed the door and leaned against it for a moment. Her thoughts dwelt on what transpired in the past half hour or so. The touches. The looks. All of their conversations was being looped in her mind. Not to mention how she felt during each of them.

Oh but she was married! Devoted at that! But outside of being a Force User, he was very much like her husband. Maybe that was why she was reacting and thinking in the way that she was.

Slipping out of her bathrobe, Rowena slid into bed and curled up, hugging one of the pillows. She knew that she'd sleep once her mind would stop racing.
