Invasion of Carida: June 20

These are the objectives as laid out by the RPJ's:
1. Gain control of the Circle of Merchants HQ in Carida City (the capital as there is not one listed on the wookieepedia page).

2. Gain control of the Spinara Plateau where the Academy of Carida and the Military Council seat is.

3. Gain control of the Military Base/Training Area in the Forgofshar Desert.
There will be fleeting. Each faction will get up to 5 fleeter's with 25km of ships per person.

They're pretty simplistic, though rather restrictive in terms of what we can do. I expect that the thread will soon be unlocked. My plan for the invasion remains the same. I will be boarding the enemy flagship and then once ive taken that apart will proceed to Objective #1.

Objectives in my view restrict where one can go and what one can do in an invasion. Coruscant for instance is a HUGE planet with hundreds upon hundreds of locations. Having objectives like these essentially negate a good 90% of those locations because if you go to one of these places and it is not listed as an objective, then fight there, your fight won't actually count because it wasn't at one of the objectives and what you did was entirely moot.

With these terms for Carida for instance you have exactly 4 places you can go. The Capital, The Military Academy, The Military Base, and the Fleets. 4 options out of what should be -hundreds- of places on Carida.

Objectives limit what one can do in an invasion to an extreme.

I guess this also allows the Republic to distribute their Masters evenly? Since those objectives seem to be in different locations, it might be hard to help each other... though it probably prevents the Republic from shifting from one place to another to reinforce their forces there.

We can have more than five people in space so long as the people that intend to capture/kill Popo and other high value people in space do not bring ships.

We can take our time so long as people remain interested in the Invasion, and we can easily get a second wind by changing our focus to another objective. It's a simple tactic: if there are multiple objectives and little harm in ignoring several for a small period of time, we can focus exclusively on one with overwhelming force.

In the end though, do what yall want. This is all about having fun, and people do so in their own ways (hence why Shara and I are against objectives).

Just letting you guys know that I'll be gone for a couple days, but intend to join this as soon as I get back. And count me among the fleeters, if possible.

Both factions have stated they're ready as of like 12 hours ago. So were just waiting on staff now.

I could do so, although my character being an acolyte would make him an NCO at most (he could be made temporary commandant, or perhaps his command could be limited to starfighters, with the capital ships controlled by somebody else)

To the most capable fleeter, you can use this:

I had it at Sabarene until I conquered the Pacanth Reach, and since then it's been in orbit above Panatha.

I think it needs some loving.
We have a dreadnought? Oh HELL yes!

I'll be among your escort fighters btw

Okay, anybody willing to elaborate on fleeting? Are we allowed to destroy their assets or are they treated like characters and I can only fire shots at them, but only their guys can state the damage it takes? Can I inflict massive damage to them or poke them until they consider themselves dead? Also any pointers on how long can shields hold under fire? I assume it's proportional to the ship size and firepower being thrown at it, but a starting point would be nice from someone who had exp with this.

Something else I'd like to ask about fleeting...what ships are we bringing? We have at the very least an Interdictor-class Cruiser and a Scythe-class Battlecruiser. Are we bringing that dreadnought to the fight? If we do, the Republic's in SERIOUS trouble.

Fleeting is exactly like regular fighting. You list your fleet then your fleets actions. You decide that damage that is inflicted upon your ships. Basically, use logic. If you're in a cruiser and a Star Destroyer is firing on you full force, its highly unlikely your shield will last very long at all. Does that help?

Okay can some one give me a hand with what ship to take, to make it the magic number. So I can Included my personal ship, as when I board I have pvp strategy which is really good

If you plan on boarding, don't worry about having an entire fleet at your back. It shouldn't be an issue as long as your ship isn't bigger than like 150m-ish, and if there's a complaint we'll handle it.
