Question about sizable project:
When Merr-Sonn reaches tier three, one of the requirements for elevation to 4 is a sizable project. Could this be something like opening its subsidiaries? As Merr-Sonn has 2, and I plan for a third non-cannon, I wonder if role playing through this would be acceptable?
Or would it need to be something like making a death star or something?
No, submitting a subsidiary is not a sizeable project on its own. A death star (in the literal sense) isn't all we are looking for, but it can be looked at as a rather extreme example.

Well I hadn't meant one, I meant all three at once. Aka the finding of planets for HQs, factory building, etc. But either way, what ideas could be used then? If that is an extreme example, one that logically my company couldn't do, I need pointers. Of course don't blatantly say, do this.

That's cheap.

Lol I don't know how to ask...feth...uhm...maybe designing a fleet of ships? Would that be acceptable? Or a super ship? I know you can't all out give me ideas, even if I didn't think it cheap. I'm just kind of drawing a blank...

You make weapons/guns, right? You can develop a new/innovative, and maybe costly weapon for a major/minor faction or another company. Like a new kind of blaster, maybe. Maybe pioneer into a new field even. An example is a cloning company doing a clone army for the Republic, or a ship company making a new flagship-esque destroyer.

These questions are in regard to the miscellaneous threads necessary for a company tier advancement:
  • How many posts minimum do they need to be?
  • Can they be about anything the company is involved with?

Sorry if this question has already been asked.

I've read the droid creation template but I'm a bit confused. Perhaps it can be cleared up to me here?

Mostly, I don't know how to go about the manufacturing process, mainly because, I think it should be mass-produced given it's usefulness and very low abilities to be abused, but I wouldn't know where to start with that and I'm very confused ^^; still getting used to all of it here.

Basically, I have decided to give my Wookiee character a wearable translator droid based off M-TD, though mass produced instead of a unique item, because it seems like a useful item for the general universe to have, for species that cannot speak Basic or other languages, besides Wookiees. I gave it a name in the bio without realizing I should run it here first. :(

I'd like to keep that bit, but basically, yeah the functions would be the same as M-TD though with my character's being a bit older and clunky at times, as a character trait. Limitations being that it only has the 5,000+ most common languages which do not include much of anything ancient, which would have to be programmed in specifically, as to not be overpowered as a translator device.

  1. A development thread must be a minimum of 10 posts, so ten posts or more should be the goal here.
  2. Anything revolving around the company, yes. Just make sure the involvement is centered on the company.

The factory is entirely optional, so it isn't a requirement to submit it, but if you feel it is something you'd like to do, you can utilize any canon company as the manufacturer (or ask around for a player-owned company) that fits the piece of technology and mass produce it.

Hi there. I am currently in the midst of doing my corporations major project in order to Tier up to Tier 6. During this process I noted two things required to grow a company that I have always wondered about.

Sign a contract with two more major factions OR Tier V+ companies.
Obtain the permanent sponsorship of another major faction.
I realize the normal importance of this, companies require funds and contracts in order to substantiate growth and show expansion, however I find it a bit silly that this growth needs to come from governments, especially considering that a corporation may not at all agree with the proceedings of those governments. For instance a company may wholly support only one faction and only that faction due to IC reasons, this would prevent them from further expanding because according to the rules they require at least two to reach Tier Six. Obviously this is a rather Niche reason, but in general I believe that Companies should not need the support of a government in order to grow.

So my question is this. If additional development is supplemented into these threads, could these requirements be bypassed fairly? Say instead of a 10 post thread securing government sponsorship a corporation does 100 posts worth of Dev Threads expanding business in a different way.

Thank you for your time and eventual answer :)

From my understanding, the focusing crystal in a lightsaber creates a beam of plasma that is captured in an energy field.

Theoretically, could a blaster utilise a focusing crystal? encapsulating the plasma in an energy field and propelling it, just like an ordinary blaster, but of the course the effects and damage of the bolt would be increased due to the crystal?

I'm planning on creating a FU who focuses on firearms and not lightsabers, so I was curious if I could create what would essentially be a blaster with the power of a lightsaber due to the focusing crystal

No. Any blasters which fire plasma with a lightsaber cutting power will not be accepted.
