Mi'la paused her work as the master explained, rather surprised how neatly and to the point it was. She was envious of that, Mi'la would just ramble on and on about things. She needed to get better at getting to the point of an issue. Finished with her mapping, Mi'la loaded it onto her datapad, and clipped it to her hip. She just needed to grab some mining axes and she'd be right as rain now. "Everyone has such interesting pasts it seems, and ten years to go from a padawan to a master? That's crazy good, I'm just coming up on my ten years and I'm still stuck here as a knight. One day, maybe." She commented, securing a pair of axes to her belt as well. "Well, long story short, used to be a slave, met a jedi, lost an arm and head-tail but here I am." She smiled, brushing over her less than pleasant past for, many reasons. The less people knew of her failings, the better she felt she'd be. "Sometimes, you know, I wonder if I should settle down and try to get married. But, that's probably a disqualification for being a master, no?" Truthfully, she had tried to find someone, she really had, and it never lead anywhere good.

Now ready, Mi'la awaited Wu to go with her, eager to start digging at the planet below, and see just how far this whole mystery went.

"I don't think it is, I know several masters and who have children myself included." SHe said it and explaining Ykua wasn't exactly easy but Yayao was precious and Akari her padawan protected the little girl... and Wu was able to go out on missiosn like this. "Besides a family is important it anchors you to what you are meant to protect... Life." She said it and set up the ship so that the security system of the collected stars were goign to be controlling the ship to protect and track them in case of a need for quick extraction. She had her saber clipped on her hip while she secured the pack on her back and shoulder strapped equipment pack. The scarf remained around her as she checked it and it gleamed in the force while she infused it feeling the calming effects of the scarf.

Mi'la listened to what the woman said, and hearing that she could indeed have children was a surprise. She wasn't sure why, but she had thought that having offspring in that manner would have landed her in hot water. Then again, she knew several jedi masters that had flings like it was a-actually she didn't want to even finish that metaphor. "Can't it also blind you to giving into and following the will of the force?" She asked, moving to depart down the landing ramp, feeling rather good with the new equipment they had at the ready. "I don't know, honestly. I don't think I'll even get to that point." She dismissed the idea entirely. She hardly had friends anymore, how in the hell could she manage a relationship? She didn't even know how to date someone. She pushed such thoughts from her mind as she stepped off the ship, focusing instead on the task ahead.

Turning back to Wu, she motioned towards the cave, uncertain if that's where they should start. "Back into the belly of the beast I guess? Maybe those critters shook something up within." She suggested, not entirely sure how one went about this sort of exploring. She normally kept to temples, not creepy monster infested caves.

Listening and nodding a little. "It could or it could have been the will of the force for you to find them. I do not doubt the forces will gave me the means to have Yayao, nor that it led to the dangers that claimed my sister. I have been learning more and more to trust the force and helps when you have the right teacher." She said it while they were headed back there.. with a grin on her face while she thought about Kurenai Yumi Kurenai Yumi though sparring it as she wondered how she would handle this situation... okay she knew exactly how she would handle it but Wu didn't have a mini gattling cannon that could be carried around and just used to tear apart everything with superheated plasma.Wu was looking down towards the hole and she was prepared for anything that they might face. With her saber and they had a pair of sky cycles in the pack with the compartments.

Listening to the masters words, Mi’la was left to ponder what truths she wished to cling to. Master Sakadi had always been stern about no attachments, and yet, part of Mi’la longed for that sort of thing. A jedi’s life was one of sacrifice after all. Then again, how much had Mi’la sacrificed compared to other Jedi?

Too much she’d say, but was that her place?

Ugh. She needed to go talk to someone about this at some point. She knew if she brought this up to Sakadi it wouldn’t go well.

Within the cave, Mi’la looked to the master, before looking back to the hole they had escaped from. “Alright, wish me luck.” She muttered, as saber in hand, Mi’la leapt down into the hole, her saber burning into existence as she did, only to find…nothing. The rocks they had dropped down here has been crushed and melted away, and the vats that been sitting along the room ahead were all shattered, yet that force tremor seemed to be stronger now. “We’re all clear down here master.” Mi’la called up, as she slowly moved into the room, feeling that sensation within her growing.

There was something here however, and if Wu entered into the room below with Mi’la, she would begin to hear familiar voices, voices of loved ones that had passed. Almost like whispers around the room, yet whispers they were still. Something was wrong with the force in this place.

Mi'la Undari Mi'la Undari

Wu bowed her head in a nod as she was looking at the hole and as Mi'la lept she crouched touching the ground for a moment. Her senses and the force reaching outwards to better try and connect with the world. She wanted to better improve her understanding of what they might find or face but it would be better if she could to use some of the jedi skills like Matsu or Saki they understood shaping and how to read elements like rock for seeing in the distances. Her saber activated though as she stood up and lept down slowing her descent with the force but also launching climbing ropes that they would be able to use to quickly ascend if they needed itas well as guide their path. THe majie drones going down as she caught the one so it held her up to land looking at Mi'la. "Shall we?"

The Master would feel something not that dissimilar to what Mi’la was feeling now, though perhaps in finer detail. The world they stepped on seemed to be bleeding Force energy, as if there was a rift in the netherworld that was seeping out the living Force into this world. Mi’la however, felt this Force flooding in around her, and quietly vanishing before she could touch it. The sensation gave her chills, and no less unnerved her, though she waited calmly for Wu to continue forward. Using her senses, Mi’la felt for the correct path ahead, as past the large shattered tank in the room,
two paths laid ahead.

After a moment, Mi’la found it to be the path to the left. Trying to ignore the odd sensations, she continued ahead, and began down a twisted corridor. However as she began to move down it, she would halt as the confines of the corridor were no longer the confines of the corridor, as she found herself in her childhood room on Ryloth. Stopping, she seemed to be almost frozen, though Wu wouldn’t see the same as she moved into the hall, the master instead would be treated to a visage of her own homeworld. “What in the name of the Force is going on here?” Mi’la muttered to herself.

Feeling the force and heading through the lab only proved to raise more questions but Wu was allowing herself to be open to what there was... working to discern what the force was doing to her in her mind before she was heading down the path after the other jedi. The sights changing to Tiantang as she stood there looking at the bright sun and open fields... her mind wanting to accept it but there was wrongness here... she wasn't smelling the grasses nor the air. Sweet scents of spring as well as the sounds of the animals... it was good thjough and she stepped around as she heard the other jedi. "SOmething mental and illusionary... it is good but shows what is coming to us not all of it."

Stumped by what she was seeing, Mi'la closed her eyes, and focused instead on what was here, not what she was seeing. Though in her minds eye the illusion did not fade, the path ahead remained like a thinly traced outline. She could go on ahead, this place was not forbidden to her, though the Force that she was reaching out with seemed so warped and distorted here, and with every step that seemed to be the case. "I've never felt anything like this before, it's just so....twisted." Mi'la commented, moving ahead with her eyes closed, ignoring the illusions that she moved past.

The corridor they walked seemed to stretch on, but eventually, it did finally come to an end. The lab they stood in now, had a nauseous green color to it. All about the pair, consoles lined the walls, strange characters flashing across them, but ahead was the true mystery. A strange black gateway stood, several large power cables connected to it. Between the archway, a white shimmering glow lingered, and from it, the Force seemed to almost contiously stream out from it. Looking about, unsure what she was seeing, Mi'la started dumbfounded at the portal, and became alarmed as the very room before her began to morph. Rather than a lab, she once again found herself with Darth Malevolum's torture chamber. Instead of consoles, an array of torture devices were laid out, and the gateway was now the very table she had been tortured so thoroughly upon.

Taking in a sharp breath, Mi'la could feel Wu near by, could sense the master even though as she looked the woman was gone. "What even is this?" Mi'la asked aloud, trying not to give into the sensations of fear that stroked at her core. She still had nightmares about this place at times, but how could it be captured so thoroughly? And what even was this archway?

Wu on the other hand, would find the Twi'lek missing as well, along with her droids, viewing whatever painful memory that she might have had buried down.

Mi'la Undari Mi'la Undari

Wu continued to walk and she was feeling it... her mind racing as she saw the illusion changing... memories were there but she had some benefit... she accepted pain and what had happened. Her parents being lost and dead, her people massacred by offworlders... the jedi she knew and met being attacked and dying... the danger of it all was there.. the pain but she accepted it. The feeling of hands on her as the mercenary was standing there next to her and quiet brought her head around. SHe was looking at her but she was wrong... no scent... no warmth.. KLurenai always had a warmth to her and even when she was acting vicious to those they were fighting. She saw her reaching for her neck with her fangs and Wu remained where she was speaking and looking at the woman. "It isn't fear of her losing control... she is old enough it is fear that I might not want her to stop."

Unsure what Wu was seeing, Mi'la attempted to move forward, just in time to see Darth Malevolum standing before her. Metal face still with rage, though she herself remained placid. The Darth had long since died as far as she knew, yet Mi'la had a long moment to stare at the form of her tormentor, and the person who had destroyed her connection to the force. Ever since that day, she had struggled to reconnect with the Force, and even now, she hadn't fixed her connection entirely. Taking a breath, she moved forward, ignoring the hiss of the saber that moved to strike her, and the imposing form of Malevolum as she attempted to jump between her.

Wu was right, this was just some sort of attempt to control them. Once the pair had confronted their special image, it would fade not long after, leaving them again in the control room, with a shimmering archway before them. Mi'la still felt the Force trembling before the portal, so much so she could feel it now against her skin, the sight itself was dreadful to her. "By the Force, what manner of devilry is this?"

She really hoped the master could explain, because she sure as hell could not.

Perhaps if Wu was ware of such things, she could recognize that this was a rift to the Netherworld of the Force.

Mi'la Undari Mi'la Undari

Wu watched the energy vampire fade and her attention went to the room itself as she was taking in many parts of it... her attention with the droids as she directed them to scan and collect all important information that they would be able to as she turned to look at the gateway. "It looks familiar." She said it and there was several types of gates she knew about.. Atrisian had worked and expanded their transporter network which used gateways to access a pocket dimension called infinity that the Kwa had discovered... it made travel across a planet be almost in an instant and they could go to the moon or other worlds within the Atrisian system. Sasori who made jedi equipment used a gateway with the bangmangi to access a dimension of space and reality called the dream which you could use to create force energy into objects at a far greater capacity... THis though was looking like it accessed something else. "There are some gateays that jedi have developed but this is strange with its energy and sensation."

To Mi’la’s relief, Wu seemed to know what this object was. Which was much better than anything she could work out. Watching as the Jedi master moved closer, Mi’la only watched in confusion as to what was really occurring here. As Wu gave her explication, Mi’la tried to think back to what sort of tech she had read about before, when it clicked.

The Rakatan’s had similar technology, portals that could reach into the force! Though Wu had said this energy felt off, and Mi’la had to agree. It was very much off. “So, what do we do? Shut it down?” She asked, eyeing the power conduits still linked to the device, but waited for Wu before she would attempt anything.

What sort of tech had they stumbled across?

Mi'la Undari Mi'la Undari

The jedi master turned her attention to the power conduits and she checked on it. "Look for a computer first... just cutting the power might not be the best idea. The gateways collapse could cause an explosion." She said it and there was more they might be able to work with.. she was directing the droids to the computers while tapping the kirano visor to check out and see information for them on the display. "We should be able to shut it down though, the droids can slice the computer and the internal AI can collect the data needed to show what is needed to use the computers." She was going over more information and reached out with the scanners for the energy recording it so they could compare it.

Hearing what Wu advised, Mi'la looked to the console, then the jedi master with a short nod. "As you say." She wasn't much of a scientist, though she moved over to the console, trying to work it out. Wu on the other hand, would find the energy readings were unstable, in a flux and they were becoming more and more unstable as time progressed.

Mi'la meanwhile ran her hand over the console, catching flickers of memory within the Force, giving her more and more insight through fleeting glimpses into the past. This...machine had been designed for something, an experiment for energy? It had been abandoned in the past, but as the Bryn began to die off, someone had attempted to revive this project, though it seemed it had claimed it's creator in the process, leaving this unstable arch to warp and distort itself, but for how long Mi'la hadn't a clue. "I think I...found something, but I don't know how to cut it off yet."

Mi'la Undari Mi'la Undari

Wu continued to look at the scanners and unstable energy wasn't a good sign but they would be calm and rational about it. THe best way to handle such a situation would be to first make sure they found what was making it unstable... likely it was the tear in reality created.. so that was one thing. Second would be the best way to close the gateway which would be to cease the systems in place activating it. Power suddenly getting cut off might damage something and this much energy coming out would be a lot more dangerous if it didn't have the moments needed to unspool as it were. She started working on the gateway itself to let the AI begin to shut down the system and slowly lower the power levels.

Mi’la continued to study the signatures left on the console, getting glimpses of how it worked, but she didn’t feel much better at the circumstances they were facing. The portal did not take kindly to Wu’s alteration however, as it began to crackle, the force aura about them swelling with power that seemed as it might crush them under the pressure. The Twi’lek on the other hand seemed to be trying to find something useful, but managed only to know that this creation was not only power dependent, but Force reliant as well.

Gasping at what she now realized, Mi’la looked to Wu, before moving closer to the portal, opening herself up for the Force, and feeling an immense amount of pain as she felt it all come rushing into her. She nearly toppled over, extending her arms as she attempted to create a shield around the portal, hoping to starve it from the Force, and perhaps cancel it in the process. “W-Wu, I think, if we can…cut its connection, it-it will stop!” Mi’la grunted out, the pain flaring up all along her body, her Force presence wavering and warping from the energies, but the knight felt as if she was managing to accomplish her goal here.

Mi'la Undari Mi'la Undari

She listened to the other jedi and if they had to cut the connection then that would be something easy. The force gates on the monoliths were documented and able to be deactivated the old fashioned way... smash them and infinity gates or even hypergates had much the same process.... damage the gate and they could shut it off. Tears like this were a little easier to handle when you could condense and focus on them with a barrier and she didn't speak just focused the force holding a hand on the twi'leks should as her robes and scarfs calmness and focus would be able to wash over. It was good having force enhanced equipment that worked to calm you down in the most hectic situations. "FOcus on containing it... I'll dismantle the gateway." She said it and reached out with her other hand gripping as the droids were using fusion cutters to dismantle.

Wu seemed to understand the plan, though Mi'la was unsure if she could continue what she was doing. The pain she felt was crushing, as if the Force was gripping her, squeezing her life from her. It was like on Yavin again, Void atop her, punching again, and again, and again. She grimaced, trying to withdraw, going deeper into her mind. Don't give into fear. Don't give into the suffering. Block it out, power through. She told herself, the Force flickering in and out within her, as some drew out from within, the warp in the Force shifting, and rather than a crushing pressure around Mi'la, it began to circle around her, like a lens, Mi'la felt a degree of control coming over her, as she gripped her hands, and focused hard on the bubble she desired to construct.

She felt it now, for once since she walked on this surface, for the first time since she had started to feel the Force, her connection felt...normal. Emboldened, Mi'la grunted, eyes narrowing as she could feel herself drawing in the Force energies from the space, keeping it from feeding the portal, as Wu's droids began to dismantle the device.

Mi'la Undari Mi'la Undari

Wu continued to channel the force thrhough herself and into Mi'la as she was drawing on the calming energies of her robes... the ability to calm herself in the heat of battle was important... the saber on her hip did much the same with the solarite metal that had been designed. SLowly though she and the droids were dismantling the arch of the gate and it was falling to the side while she began focusing on the force barrrier and holding it contained. "There we go... it is working... just breathe." A smirk was on her face... trying to explain this adventure to Akari would be a treat if they were going over things.
