Operation Downfall: Carida [One Sith vs. Republic]

[member="Evelynn"]

Sciath continued to walk away from the battle that had begun. Of course taking a force light wasn't something you just got up and walked away from – especially someone like Evelynn who seemed to forget how to chew and swallow food. She kept talking to him in her mind, it was funny how she didn't connect two and two together. Her words echoed in his head and he ignored her for the time being and continued to walk till they arrived to his speeder. Plopping the girl down he reached into the bag and ripped off a piece of one of the buttery, flaky and warm croissant.

“Here.”

It was all he said as he looked at her. He was curious if she'd recognize him, but with the taint of the darkside his features changed and the scars from his adventures with Kaine Zambrano did quite the number. Reaching over and disregarding any sense of personal space, Sciath buckled the woman into her seat. Once more he gave her a piece of the croissant when she had finished the first bite. Climbing onto the speeder as well, he secured the food in front of him and gave her a death stare assuring her of some sort of consequence if she tried to get more of the food. “We're going away from here. So sure, somewhere nice.”

The Speeder flared to life and the two took off.

Oh he did hate it when people drew too much attention, or maybe it was just more of a slight distaste, regardless the one doing the attention grabbing was on his side. Helping seemed like a good call. Calmly he set his fighter down amidst the chaos and vaulted out of the cockpit as the canopy let out a hiss as it broke the airtight seal. Aw, the attempts at saving the fallen had already begun. Cale had been there when Hion went bezerk, he'd tried to stop it, tried to save him, honestly tried because it was what he'd believed in, and look at Cale now. Oh the fething irony.

Wordlessly the One Sith sleeper agent approached the Helgaric. He'd arrived moments too late to hear the force bellow he'd missed oh so much, but no matter. Of the three hilts hanging at his side he grabbed only one, a simple, no frills, black hilt aqnd thumbed the ignition. With a snap-hiss the once paragon of the S'hadar brothers watched as a crimson blade sprung forth buzzing hungrily, yearning for its near infinite bloodlust to be sated. In time, in time.

Darth Banshee looked at her old master rexus drath and smiled, I have always been sith, but sith are not evil. I have been given medical aid to people of coruscant, the people who the republic never gave damn about. I trying create jobs down their, to make them self sufficient. I am doing this with the blessing of my fellow sith. She then added with a broader grin It is good to have you long though.

As her ship came out from cloak she was aiming for blind spot on their capital ship, but Sentinel-class Cruisers then opened fire on her ship. She had hoped her Admiral Tibirus would still been here to defend her ship, but he was dead. Her ship dived and try to use the the protectorate command ship as cover. While she dived she began strafing it with her ion cannons to help reduce it shields. She then sent a holo message to her fleet Our Admiral Tibirus has died valiantly, we need to regroup and honour him in victory today. All Ardent Class frigates I want you take down the Sentinel-class Cruisers, especially the one attacking me. Victory II class Destroyers I want you to go for the last two Stalwart-class Heavy Cruisers. Also I want MC140 Scythe-class main battle cruiser you to split into two groups, half of you take down the Stalwart-class Heavy Cruisers, and other five I want you to attack Leviathan-class Super Star Defender. Furys I want on Shield-class Cruisers, and fighters I want you to provide cover, but stay away from those corvettes. She was hoped those frigates would be enough to take down the cruiser targeting her, and get their soon.

Tyrin decided he wasn't going to give her too much time to get comfortable in the hallway. It was clear to him now that this contest could not be decided by their respective knowledge of the Force, but by their skills with a lightsaber. However, he certainly didn't want to charge in on her if she could do that stupid Force Light hocus pocus whenever she damn well pleased.

An illusionary Tyrin charged towards her, lightsaber held high in the air as he prepared to strike. It vanished just before getting to her, at which point the actual Tyrin revealed himself behind Tahira, hand extended.

Crimson tendrils of energy snaked out of his hand in every which direction, honing in on Tahira's back. This was no Force Lightning, and would not be deflected or absorbed by a lightsaber. It was instead Force Drain, and Tyrin intended to sap just enough energy out of her to keep the light show from going off again. Then the clashing and slashing of lightsabers could come.

The packages didn't stop coming. Canal and his men continued throwing chairs, tables, and the vending machines while stealing some refreshments from the machines. There was no need of wasting ammunition on just one man when they could use it on something more big and huge. That was when the turboshafts were being acting up with no one controlling them. The emergency lighting made it difficult to see but that didn't stop them. They were throwing the items that they had until they were out. After throwing three tables and five chairs they finally threw the vending machine with some beverages in it so it could have more damage in it.

This was going to get the sniper in deep trouble.

Rex crossed his arms and spoke to her after she have her orders. "Really?" He said to her sounding like he was speaking from his throat. "The sith aren't evil?" It took just about all the will power In the world to not face palm right there. Buddhist monks could not even manage this kind of will power. "So what you are saying is that the sith. The lords of darkness and all things black and scary are not evil?" Looking at the palm of his hand the option was still there but he managed the strength to carry on. "Well I guess they aren't evil then! I mean Togoria didn't happen I guess. Hey guys billions of people weren't slaughtered by a sith emperor who works here! It's cool guys let's pack up and head home these dudes are not evil!" Walking over to a small box nearby Rex began to neatly fold the robes in his possession and place them in it.

"Hey I guess my master who was a sith knight didn't torture and kill people making me heal them before they died before he tortured them some more! NOPE NOT THESE GUYS! THEY ARE ALL JUST ANGELS!!" Shouting now Rexus used the force and mental powers to cast a nothing to see over here vibe into the soldiers around him. "I guess the bombs we are dropping aren't causing civilian collateral damage! Nope! Or we aren't invading a peaceful system! I guess the leader of the New Order on the other side of the galaxy is not evil and doesn't support the slaughter of innocent Mandolorian civies! Might as well just pack my bags up cause there's no evil here! The one sith man those guys are cool" Placing a small lid on the box Rexus packed up his robe neatly and held it in his arms.

"HEY GUYS WARS OVER! THE SITH ARENT INTO KILLING AND GENOCIDE! LETS ALL GO HOME FIRST ROUNDS ON ME!" Now face palming Rex began to walk towards the hanger to get ready to board. Reaching into his pocket he grabbed a cigarette and a lighter sparking it up he took a deep breath in inhaling the toxins and speaking with the smoke still in his lungs. "Sith ain't evil, girl get out of here with that crap." He said while walking off getting ready to fight a war he hated.

Admiral Kyrin Nassin
Light exploded near Kyrins left flank as another two ships went up in flames. The powerful Protectorate fleet was tearing apart his Scythe's. His teeth was gritted, at least he was doing damage to them, quite a bit of damage he thought from the way those shields were flaring.
He watched for a time as his own starships were getting in position, the Arden-class Frigates below the fleets seemed to inch closer and closer, turning their gun turrets upwards towards the sky and pointing them towards the assailants of [member="Albrecht Tagge"]. Without command the Ardent's fired with pinpoint precision, shooting towards the cruisers that were assailing the wing of Tie Defenders. The Admiral watched with Stark eyes.

“Keep firing.” The Bakura Shook slightly as it was struck, sparks flying.

“Sir! We've been critically damaged!”

One of the ensigns called out to him, and Kyrin nearly ground his teeth into dust. Get those fighters in that fleet! Our boarding parties need to land. Hundreds of CF9 Crossfires flew forward escorted by the nine remaining Vindicator Heavy Cruisers.

Before the fighters made it too far another Volely of fire came from the Sycthe's shooting at the Indomitable's and desperately attempting to destroy them.

This fight was about to get up close and personal.
1x Bakura-class Star Destroyer- The Herder 850m – Severely damaged, critical

“Admiral, we’re entering the system.” The helmsman shouted onboard the Jugdement.

The 7th Sector Fleet jumped into the fray that was Carida, lightspeed becoming realspace with an explosion of light and energy. The fleet itself arrived in a wedge formation, three Justicars taking up high, two down low. A wide-spread of the fifteen Watts Heavy Class Cruisers throughout the wedge formation itself. Alarm klaxons began sounding off on the bridge as Alarice calmly walked over to the tactical officer and made a gesture. “Deploy the fleet. I want Wraith, Hammer and Freedom to reinforce the Supreme Chancellor’s ship.” She was mentioning specifically the Justicar’s themselves. The tactician began manipulating the holos of the Justicars on the map.

Small trails on the holomap indicated their specific trajectory as their orders were relayed through communications. “Deploy all fighters.” She said calmly as additional commands were input into the holomap. Small wedge icons in various formations began popping up on the tactical map, indicating fighters to be deployed. “I want Command Cruisers targeted first, take out the head and the body cannot function.” Simply put…the Bakura-Class Star Destroyer would be the first target of the fighters from the fleet. This of course in pure passing as they moved to reinforce the Supreme Chancellor.

Wraith, Hammer and Freedom would take shots enroute to a solid position on the aft of the Heart of Coruscant. Behind them would be seven additional reinforcements composed of Watts Heavy Class Cruisers which would also take shots at the command cruiser.

“Have Judgement and Liberty take position on the port side of the Leviathan. Spread these eight…” Alarice paused and brought her hands down to the tactical map. “Surround that Pellaeon-Class Star Destroyer and wipe it from the face of the Galaxy.” She spread her hands out, the various icons on the map moving out to various positions to encompass the battlefield surrounding the Pellaeon-Class Star Destroyer as well as the Torment-Class Star Destroyer. “Direct ship to ship engagement, I don’t care if it’s close range.”

Each vessel’s command was relayed through a secured communications channel and the ships began to moving into position. Fighters began pouring from the open bays of the larger ships, causing the space surrounding Carida to become cluttered. As soon as the 7th Sector Fleet was in range, it was game on. The One Sith Fleet would not know what hit them...

The Acolyte pulled up sharply to avoid a streak of laser fire flying in his direction from an unknown source. Checking his sensors, he let out a sigh of relief; at long last, the Sith fleet had opened fire on the Protectorate's anti-starfighter corvettes, forcing them to scatter their formation enough to allow his battered squadron to escape. He ordered them to regroup with the newly-arriving starfighters while he searched space for potential allies.

There, he thought as he spotted a familiar arrow-shaped craft: his Master's Annihilator starfighter. Albrecht wondered for a moment why he hadn't yet landed in one of the enemy's hangars, given that Bloodfin Squadron had made a considerable dent in the fighter screens blocking their path. Either way, his fighter's performance was starting to diminish, leaving him with another 15 minutes before it became inoperable from battle damage. Oh well, that's what the contingency plan was for, one that had only been a contingency because of concerns that he might become a liability in close-quarters combat, given his somewhat uninspired performance on Coruscant.

Pulling into formation with the Sith Lord, he opened a coms channel and sent his message.

"Lord Shara, this is Bloodfin Leader, my fighter is stricken with maybe fifteen minutes of flying time left - with all due respect, the most productive course of action as of now would be for me to join your 'boarding party'."

...the was beginning to become more of a nuissance than it was worth to Ronan. He'd look up, in the dim illumination of the emergency lighting, relying on being able to see in the ultraviolet spectrum as much as the regular one as the troopers continued to throw down an assortment of different objects towards him. Of course after every wave of objects they threw into the turbolift shaft it would take them longer to retrieve more of them for the simple fact that they'd be required to widen the radius they were searching on the floors above. Never one to waste time Ronan had only continued climbing down the turbolift shift after he'd smashed the control box that switched on the emergency lighting as well. Looking up he'd hug against the ladder he'd been descending on as another chair flew past him and smashed against the side of the shaft somewhere below him before continuing downwards once more...

...considering the distance he'd climbed down and the addition of emergency lighting in the turbolift shaft it was likely nigh impossible to see him now. It wasn't being seen that worried Ronan though it was the random debris that could hit him. It'd been a mix of luck and that he was looking out attributing to the fact none of the falling furniture had struck him yet. Well besides that one chair anyways. When he looked up and saw something larger, heavier, coming down the turbolift shaft at him though Ronan didn't even think he just reacted and jumped...

...he'd been traveling down the turbolift shaft for awhile now so it wasn't a stretch that he'd fall and land ontop of the turbolift he'd sent to the ground level not long ago. As he fell he'd turn his body and attempt to roll with the impact. He was partially successful. When Ronan hit the roof of the turbolift he'd roll to the side, his body aching, until he fell right off of it; only quick reaction speed allow him to grab onto the sides of the turbolift as he went over the side to keep him from falling into the darkness. An instant after he'd rolled to the side that vending machine came down though and smashed through the roof of the turbolift shaft where it fell into the turbolift itself with a loud crash...

...it seemed likely that anyone looking into the turbolift when this happened would have been stunned by the sight of the vending machine crashing through the ceiling. Anyone underneath it probably would have been crushed. Hanging on to the edge of the turbolift Ronan would have brought his legs up and spring boarded off to the side though and twisting his body as he did this he'd turn before impacting the side of the turbolift shaft wall and scaling downwards slowly. In any skyscraper there were more levels that than the main level; there was also the basement level and sometimes another beyond that. Disappearing underneath the turbolift the vending machine had just smashed through Ronan would have made his way to the basement level, out of sight, where the Assassin could begin prying the doors open and finally make good on his escape...

He spent most of the time that day climbing the skyscraper from the inside, his Phrik covered body finally emerged from a doorway that would lead him to the ledge and he looked up into the sky. He couldn't rarely see the battle in space, since it was, well, in space, but he knew there were people up there fighting and dying. He made sure that his ship was fuelled and prepared for lift-off in the case that the Republic started to lose in space. Zaren would make sure he'd join up with a boarding party and infiltrate one of the Sith ships. Maybe he'd get one for himself, huh?

Probably not.

Ships looked cool, but when they were over fifty meters, they were a threat to everyone.

He looked out over the city, and while he did that, he remembered what he had said to [member="Kiskla Grayson"] upon Yinchorr. How he had failed when he had been needed the most, but that didn't matter anymore. What mattered was the people of Carida who would be harmed because of the One Sith Invasion force. He knew he wasn't the best duelist around, but he knew he was good enough to hold back anyone who would come to try and take the planet.

At least for a little while.

Both of his phrik gauntlets were being clenched and he leaned on the ledge, gauntleted fingers digging into the duracrete. "We can't lose here." He said aloud. There was nobody with him, but his own words still re-assured himself, just a little bit.

They could hear the huge crash of the vending machines which made some of them laugh cause they could now imagine how their enemy is in. But that changed when the team at the entrance communicated Canal via comm link. "Sir, there is movement in the basement of the skyscraper." This made Canal somewhat angry and he would say out loud, "That scumbag! How the hell could he avoid being splattered and not be sent to the fiery depths of hell?!" But that was just wasting time. "Just go to the basement through the stairs and engage combat with him when you see the bastard. Also, get a team at the basement's entrance so that way the guy doesn't escape." He looked at his men who were around him and they knew what they're about to do without orders. The first one to jump out into the void that the target went through was, obviously, Canal. The jump was a rush and was exciting as well. It was hard to see because of the lighting but a couple seconds later the clone could see the turboshaft that had the vending machine through the hole that was made. The Mandolorian Commando activated his jetpack so the landing wouldn't injure him. The doors were prayed open which means that the sniper wasn't too far. After the landing Canal held his Czerka assault rifle, loaded with BASIC slugs, and headed out in the basement and began picking up the sniper's signature on his HUD and followed it.

The others in his team did the same thing and they began following him once they were in the basement. They were running after the assassin's signature on their HUDs and Canal fired all thirty BASIC slugs from his assault rifle horizontally so he could hit their target and make him bleed from his wounds.

Standing silently, the Luka Sene Padawan watched the street. The Sith were coming here, and Anarya wanted nothing more than to help end that. Her hand went to her belt, checking once more for her saber. It was her means for defence, not a weapon of attack. Sighing, she sat, entering the meditation that she had been taught in her early years.

A scene of carnage flashed before her. A world burning. The invasion lead to the planet razed to the ground. Nothing stood in the way. She saw a figure who seemed to be wrapped in shadow. He stood towering over the body of a woman. He laughed as he noticed Anarya, charged her. She dodged out of the way, ran to the body. It was Saran. The skyline of a different planet stretched out now. One she had seen only in pictures. Coruscant.

She woke up in a cold sweat. The meaning was clear, and one thing she did not want to hear.

Saran would die to retake Coruscant.

She raced away from the spot, heading to the roof. There was someone up there. Maybe they could help.

He released the ledge of the building when he began to sense the meditative state of someone a level below him. There was another Jedi nearby, he understood that orders were you were meant to stay with a partner. Especially if you were a Padawan, but if it was his idea, he wouldn't have any Padawans defending planets for the Republic. They would stay in the Temples and complete their training with the Academy Instructors.

But alas, it was not to be.

He turned around and looked towards the door, he would wait for whoever it was coming up to see him. He could only wonder what this person wanted, they seemed quite...Anxious.

The space port of Carida was divided into square lots, rather than the circular ones seen at ports such as Mos Eisley. Each lot was blocked in by two story structures housing repair equipment, fuel stations and spaceport security. In the wake of the One Sith's arrival on the planet the spaceport security had all but been extinguished, albeit at great cost. The platoon of stormtroopers Orcus had arrived with had spread out further into the spaceport, intent on wiping out any remnants of resistance.

Meanwhile, the massive Herglic stood inside one of the lots, ready to confront the encroaching Jedi. The starship occupying the lot had been destroyed by his bellow, blown into three pieces. The fuel had ignited in the blast and now flames lapped at the remnants of the vessel. The red-orange light flickered in Orcus' black eyes, giving his features an eerie quality even as he smiled at the approaching Jedi.

Ever in life, Hion had been affable. Orcus appeared little different than his former vestige save younger and mightier.

Without the Soulsaber clouding his thoughts, Orcus had direction and purpose, from the Dark Lord's own mouth, no less. Before he'd been a fool, exiled from his pod for gambling excesses and then intent upon righting small wrongs in the galaxy. His focus had been too small. The galaxy needed conflict to purge it of weakness. And once that weakness was purged the Sith could unite the galaxy in order and peace. Oh, no doubt there would be rebellions, but such combat would only serve to sharpen the Sith's Nova Imperium. He served the Dark Lord in full, now. They were One. Perhaps the former occupant of this body had been sacrificed, but it was necessary.

Just as defeating these Jedi would be necessary for victory. The only difference between each act was that Orcus would savor defeating these so-called guardians of justice.

"I am no longer called by that name," Orcus boomed, voice hitting a note so deep it reverberated in the stomachs of those nearby. "Hauum, I have been reborn."

The Dark Ocean roiled within him, a building typhoon upon whose cresting waves he rode. Orcus still held his great saber in a Shien guard, but he made no move to engage. Instead, the orbalisk-encrusted Herglic loosed a high pitch shriek that shattered the glass with a hundred meters and would indubitably blow out the eardrums of anyone in the immediate proximity as well as causing immense discombobulation due to the disorientation of the inner ear.

Ki'an had been concentrating on battering aside the blaster bolts coming in from various angles as the Sith troopers continued their assault on the Academy. So far they appeared to be making some minor headway. The Sith were not being pushed back, but nor were they able to press forward. Ki'an, [member="Talon Vosra"], and [member="Tugoro Taidarious"] had been joined by a number of soldiers from the Academy and they were help to hold the Sith at bay. Leaping forward, Ki'an sank his green lightsaber into a Sith soldier, burying the blade in the unprotected armpit of the armor he wore. Ki'an stepped back just in time to see a small, alien bounding left and right. He moved with amazing agility and cut down several of the defending soldiers allied with Ki'an and the others.

The alien was unlike any Ki'an had seen before. It was small and agile and appeared to be some sort of small mammal. Sensing its force aura, Ki'an was certain it was the sniper that had almost killed him earlier in the battle and that had dropped many soldiers already. Ki'an brought his saber into a defensive pose and made towards the attacker. Ki'an's advance was cut short however, when the sniper turned on Ki'an and let loose with his blaster pistols in full auto. For anyone to control two blaster pistols on full auto was an impressive feat, and it was doubly impressive for this small mammal to do it. Ki'an's blade danced in front of him as he batted away the bolts. This was the hardest he had been pressed yet, and his blade danced around in a green blur. Even with the force aiding him, Ki'an felt a sting along his left shoulder as a bolt got in past his defense. He could still swing his arm about freely, so he was sure it had only grazed him. Knowing he had to act fast to avoid anymore blaster bolts piercing his defense, Ki'an called on the force and his training among the Baran Do sages. Ki'an lifted the dirt in the immediately vicinity into the air, creating a cloud of dirt betwen his attacker and him and then with a forced altered leap, Ki'an leaped up and over the dust cloud, aiming to come down within striking distance of his attacker. The dust would hopefully help to cover him from attack for the few seconds necessary to cover his assault. But even as he leapt into the air, Ki'an continued to reach out into the force to try and keep his guard up. He didn't know his adversary well enough to know if he would be ready for this attack. Against an adversary such as this, Ki'an had to rely on the force and his training more than ever.
