Peace is a Lie

The Reaper of Won Shasot
Dax let the woman practically drag the man out of the cantina, hastily dropping a few credits on the table before his drink ever arrived. As they stepped back into the clean air Dax took a deep, refreshing breath. "Thank the Force I was suffocating in there."

"Same and by the end of today that bar will be gone along with the gangs of this great planet." She had gotten a tip that there was going to be a meeting of the big bosses of the gangs. This must mean they were about ready to come out of the shadows. She would come to the bridge where the meeting would take place. She would then lower herself over the edge onto a small ledge. "This is where it is happening."

Dax looked around at the buildings that surrounded them. His eyes searched for a perxch to observe and intervene when necessary. "There." he said, pointing to one of the taller buildings. It wasn't exactly very far away and offered a clear line of sight of the whole bridge.

"How much time do we have till the meet?" Dax asked as he watched the woman wire up what seemed to be an explosive. To be hones, Dax hoped to have that as a last resort. Random explosions in Theed was probably not going to go over well with the Queen...

"Looks like we got time to set up then." the man said. He surveyed the area they were in some more. A wide open bridge, a sniper's paradise...this was the kind of stuff that worried him...

"Hey were gonna be ok" She says, she uses the tone she used to use with her soldiers to instill courage in them when things looked grim. It had worked every time she had used it. She would look at him and smile "I owe you my life you know that right?"

"Nah," the man said, turning back around to face the woman, "You don't owe me anything. You saved my life too. We're square." The Rogue looked the woman in the eyes as he spoke. He meant what he said. They owed each other nothing. He was here because he wanted to be, just as she was.

"You woulda made it." he shrugged, "Besides, I'd like to think anyone else woulda done the same.". The two had fought through a gang war after all. You don't just drop the other person off at the first convenient spaceport after something like that.

"I don't think so, I have seen a lot of bad people in my time. A lot that most people could not imagine, I myself have killed a lot of those people and I still see them when I close my eyes." She said being completely honest with him

"Its a job someone's gotta do..." the man said said, a slight nod, "Better us than someone else."

To sacrifice oneself for another. A life few could live, and one that almost always led to death. But it was worth it in the end. It had to be.

Aspen would nod and remember her biggest mission ever, her and a task force of 4 men were to break into a secret military compound and take down a very high value target. This would be no simple feat, none of them were foolish enough to think otherwise. The mission began according to plan, they parachuted into enemy territory using stealth chutes that would help them avoid detection. They then moved 3 miles through the night and the rain, they would make it right to the secret entrance to the military facility and taking down 4 guards they would then swipe one of the badges off of their belts and make their way inside. Once inside they gave the word and the tech gods killed the lights, that also meant they were stuck inside without a route of escape. They moved using every bit of military knowledge they had. They killed at least 200 men before reaching their target. Aspen would have her men hold him down as she shot him in the back of the head executioner style. She shivered at the thought

"Speaking of jobs..." Dax said, interrupting the woman's thoughts, "I need to figure out my perch...and how good of a shot I'll have from up there. So, if you'll excuse me." The Rogue began to take a step backwards, heading to his prescribed task. Still, out of politeness, he awaited her dismissal before leaving.

The man settled himself into his perch, getting comfortable, but ready to move in an instant. While his slugthrower was useless at his range, he kept it in hand regardless. You never knew.

"Its your show Aspen."

"I hear you they should be arriving pretty soon. Once they do I am going to set off my little surprise down there, that should hold them at bay for a moment so that I can pick most of them off from here. Once they do recover they will be without a leader so they should be easy to take down." She said getting ready

"If things goes sideways for any reason, I'm coming down there and we're gone. Head back into the buildingI'm ontop of. I'll follow you in." he said as he scanned the area for any other movement. So far, there'd been none.

"Alright." She said and then people began to show up, soon everyone was there and it was time to through this plan into drive. She would take the detonator and hit it, a sonic boom would break through the crowd, it was enough to blow the ear drums of every person on that bridge. Aspen would begin to pick them off one by one, by the time the first was recovered 25 lay dead and that left only 15 more
