Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist
@Jeela Tillian

"They might but the Jensaari are very unique, not wholly light or dark I suppose ones who might be more cruel or more friendly but they seem to have found a balance. On the surface at least, everything can look easy on the surface." The ship was coming out near Dathomir, the hyperspace lane they could use was easier and traveled more while she spoke more. "You'll do fine Jeela, the witches magics are very unique their spirit ichor can heal dangerous wounds to rival most jedi healers. Their spells also allow for some things the jedi and other force groups do not know."

Had the Jensaarai found a balance? It seemed that way, from her perspective at least, and Matsu was correct. There were ones who crueler and ones who were kinder. Then there were a few that were neither cruel nor kind, but simply were, almost like a force of nature. Those were the ones that scared her. Not that she would admit it. But they did. And there was a possibility there was some secret dark Jensaarai cult hiding somewhere in the Suarbi system.

The witches though were interesting. She knew very little actual information about them. Mostly the Dark Side aspect. The Nightsisters. So what did the witches do? What was their focus? Their vision?

"What is the culture of the witches like, Force wise? I have no knowledge of them."

"Force wise they do not "suse" the force they invoke the spirits and use their spells which some of them can be very different. Few jedi if any can stick to walls, or track a being anywhere in the galaxy, feel the weather and know what is coming. The witches have learned a different aspect same as the shapers with their abilities. When we are with them it will be more spiritual and learning to commune with the force as they do."

Jeela considered this. It was definitely far from anything she had learned from the Force before, but that probably was the point, and certainly an advantage. Just very different. She pursed her lips thinking. Commune with the Force. "Is that similar to the Unifying Force from the Jedi tradition? Or is it an entirely different aspect?"

It seemed to be more of a mystic focus, compared to the rather pragmatic view of the Jensaarai. That would be interesting. A small shiver ran down her spine and a ghost of a smile played at her lips. This would be an exciting venture. Not that the others weren't, but this one was... dangerous. Wild. Completely out of the realm of anything she had ever studied before.

Matsu looked at Jeela and had a small grin on her face for her. She was trying to put a label on something that was harder to explain. The roar of a rancor herd as they stood in the trees and approached. Matsu looking at the largest rancors that grew on the planet compared to other planets. She was small and felt smaller now looking up the large chest of the creature and exhaling as she spoke. "Hello, I was the one who sent the message the friend of Lavania of the clans." The women a top the large creatures dropped down and stood looking at them. "Lavania is a sister of the night and friend to the singing mountain clans. Her friends and allies are always welcomed." Matsu bowed her head to that, Lavania was a former nightsister at times... she kind of goes back and forth like walking on a tight rope as her people and the witches shifted leadership on the planet.

Jeela followed Matsu's example and bowed low to the woman, swallowing nervously, I characteristically nervous. She had never seen a rancor before in person. But here one stood, towering over her. Even if she were a master, there would be little she could do against the creature. So,etching cracked inside her. A confidence, perhaps? Or an arrogance? As if her foundation was no longer as stable as she thought, even after she realized the depths of her hypocrisy. That still stung. She shifted slightly and moved closer behind Matsu, trying not to seem prude by looking away.

This was unsettling. She had little power or sway here, which had not happened in a long time. Even while an apprentice at the enclave, she had some sway as the Tillian golden girl. The rest she earned herself through work and a razor honed dedication. It had even withstood the full fury of the Saarai-Kar and the Council, driving them to desperate measures to uphold the illusion of the rightness of their reactionary behavior.

Here? Nothing. What could confidence and determination do in regards to a creature that could crush a starfighter? Nothing again. Not as far as she knew, anyways. Perhaps that was what she was here to find out.

Matsu continued to stand there while the witch gave a nod of her head. Jumping back onto the large beast as she spoke. "Your ship arrived the other day, the beast of Felucia is waiting for you. A Bull Rancor is not as easy to bond with." Matsu looked up and had a glint in her eyes of approval and amusement, she had spent a good amount of money to get the rancor mostly as a baby for this purpose while walking behind the rancors while they went into the trees.

A large herd meeting them and all heading into a clearing near a mountain that looked like an old quarry miners would have used. The jedi looked at Jeela while going through just placing a comforting hand on her back and shoulder. It was also for show while moving through the crowd of witches who had gathered some holding their staves and bolo's for catching ones to claim. The witch spoke to them moving towards the larger tents. "The elder will see you."

Jeela shot a quick, concerned glanced over to Matsu. A rancor? She had ordered a rancor? What had ever made her think that was a good idea? Those things were dangerous. But then, perhaps no more dangerous than walking through a crowd of Dathomiri witches, who seemed rather predatory at the moment. She felt Matsu's touch, rather confused at first, but then made the connection. Clever. Very clever. She squared her shoulders and lifted her chin, striding proudly through the crowd after the elder.

She had faced the wrath of the Saarai-Kar, struck out on her own before she was an adult, been kicked out by her family, and chose to tackle the evils in the galaxy head-on. A smile tugged at her lips as she looked out across the crowds. There was no reason to be intimidated by them or their customs. The Force was her ally.

Matsu looked at Jeela while they kept walking and the sound of the baby rancors was there. Matsu kept walking as they appeared under the tents of the elders. The rancors were their size and she was petting the only bull rancor there with the large tucks while looking at Jeela, "One of the largest tests the witches have is bonding with their friends, their pets and allies. The rancor herds are just like any creature within the galaxy and have ones who rever them, ones who praise them and befriend them." Matsu looked up as the ones from the clan stood with ornate robes while holding staffs. Witch staffs that could fire shots she had learned about from the mandalorian contacts they have within the silver jedi. "Looks like we are being expected."

Jeela paused slightly and hung back upon their entrance to the tent. She had never been this close to a rancor before. Not entirely sure she wished to either. She had a limit to the risk she would expose herself to. Once she was at that point, she evaded the situation. This was beginning to skirt the line. She used to hear rancor stories when she younger, and about how they would lurk under her bunk.

"Not many other creatures are beloved of crime lords for their execution value," She murmured softly, glancing around the tent, "And so it appears."

Matsu looked at Jeela while letting the baby rancor go back and play. A small smile at the idea of fun and she was making that walk up towards the elders while speaking to the young girl. "Yes they have gotten a reputation but reputation is talk and action. The creature is not to blame fully for what it does, being taught to kill things for a master, it might be a dangerous predator but as the witches have shown they cane live together in peace."

She was at the top and looking at the older women as they stood around the two of them and Matsu bowed her head. Two staffs were there as Matsu waited for a moment seeing also the bowl of green mist shimmering in the back. The smile tugged on her lips for it all while she remembered learning the spells before from Elayne Hawk and all of her family. The time as a jedi master. "Welcome back, take your equipment and ready yourself."

Jeela considered that. It was an accurate explanation and summary. Many reputations were inaccurately earned, labelled through duplicity and gossip. Her reputation had been just the same until things came to a head and she clashed heads with Lareena Thornn. That had been the first clash she had been defeated at. Or perhaps not. She had pushed her to drastic measures to maintain face and respect from the Council. A new faction leadership change was a touchy era.

Jeela looked to Matsu for guidance. Were they supposed to go and claim them? Was there some sort of ceremony? She bowed her own head in respect, and glanced aside to wait for further guidance. She wasn't entirely sure how protocol went in this world.

Matsu looked at Jeela and moved forward grabbing the staff and she brought out from her belt one of the bottles of water pouring out the rest and filling it with the green water and mist. She had gone through this with Elayne and knew the power of the spirit ichor while she motioned with her head to Jeela and smiled. "Don't worry, they won't bite, you are going to want to have some fo the ichor as well for this. The spells use it to channel the force."
