Scum and villainy

The streets of Nar Shadaa were no place to grow up, or to be living in general. Death and crime were rampant. Mara walked through a crowded street, keeping vigilant, occasionally taking so,egging from the purse or pocket of bystanders. As she passed an alleyway she saw a slumped over figure, with a small patch of red liquid reaching the sunlight. The man was obviously beyond help. Mara quickened her pace, till she came to a small crowd. A fight had broken out, not uncommon at all here on Nar Shadaa. She merged with the crowd, pickpocketing the observers.

Nar Shadaa, a home away from home...Well the exact opposite actually, Mason hated it, it was such a filthy place. And the smell was what got him the most. He had been walking the streets only to bump into a bounty hunter. Mason knew better than to mess with hardened baddies. "Sorry..." Mason said as he tried to continue walking. He felt his shoulder get pulled back and Mason flinched. "You know you should really watch where you're going, might bump into the wrong person." The bounty Hunter said with a growl. Mason could tell the man was sizing him up. Mason was 6'3 but lanky, the bounty Hunter was about a good half foot shorter and seemed pretty athletic. "That's why I apologised..." Mason said as he chewed his bubblegum. The man frowned. "Are you disrespecting me boy?" The Hunter asked. Mason blew a bubble and it popped. As soon as it did, the man sent a fist flying into Mason's stomach.

Mason fell to his knees. "Chit." Mason said he could barely speak due to the air being knocked out of him. Next thing he knew a knee hit his face and he fell onto his back.he tasted a mixture of blood and bubblegum in his mouth. He looked to the side and a crowd gathered around the duo.

The teen heard the hunter chuckle. Then the hunter spit in his face. He then felt his pockets being patted down. They were checking him for credits. "Lowlife" that earned him another kick. Soon the bounty Hunter left, the crowd began to disburse. He laid there still. It hurt to move. That's what Mason hated about fighting.

And I thought Tatooine was bad.

From the couple days that Mac had spent there, he concluded that Nar Shadaa was probably the worst place in the galaxy. Everything reeked, his motel was terrible, and unpleasant things happen in the alleyways. Mac had been on the move for quite sometime, but he had not encountered such a place like this. But terrible places breed hard men and that was what brought Mac to this cesspool of a planet. He was in between jobs at the moment and was sent by the Coalition of Brethren to put together a little crew on Nar Shadaa and raid a nearby moon for valuable ores. Mac's recruitment efforts were a bust however. No one seemed interested in his proposition as the moon was apparently picked clean. What's more is that Mac didn't even have a ship. The past couple of days hadn't been particularly successful for him and he had time to kill. Mac just wanted to keep a low profile, or at least as low of a profile a man his size can keep, until he could find an excuse to leave this planet .

He walked away from the bar that he was recruiting at down a crowded narrow street. Mac towered over the other pedestrians as he ambled his way to the motel he had been renting. As he did so, he kept both hands on the axes that were holstered at his sides. He knew that cut-purses would be prowling these streets and he wasn't about to let anyone snatch the only valuables he had.

As he was walking, a fight broke out in the middle of the street, halting the traffic of sweaty pedestrians. From what Mac saw, it wasn't much of a fight, more like an ass kicking, but the last thing he wanted to do was get involved. As jeers and cheers sprang from the crowd that had gathered around the scuffle, Mac spotted a young lady worming between the people.

Ah! Sweet Nar Shaada! It was Mallith's home away from home, seeing that their home was under control by the Imperial Remnant. As they were were walking down the street, on their way to one of their favorite pubs on the planet, they saw a bounty hunter being terribly rude to a young boy ([member=[/SIZE]Mason]) who bumped into him. They quickly headed in the direction of the two as the situation unfolded. In the end, the boy ended up on the ground.

"Leave him alone." Mallith ordered the bounty hunter while he was leaving as she pulled out her DL-44.

The bounty hunter may have been larger than her but they did not care. They looked directly into his eyes with passion. The bounty hunter left anyways, so she then stepped over to the young boy and knelt down.

"Hey. You okay?" He asked.

Mason touched his face and looked at his hand, there was blood. The teen let out a small groan as he wiped it on his shirt. Soon after [member="Mallith Renyl"] came into view. She held a blaster pistol pointed directly at the bounty hunter. Eventually the bounty hunter left, which was good seeing that Mason didn't want any one ending up dead. The woman knelt down and asked if he was okay. Mason gave a smile, a bit of blood painted his teeth. He sat up and spit the bubblegum out of his mouth then looked at her.

"Yeah, as far as not ending up dead... I'm fine." Mason smiled. "Thanks for the rescue. I'm Mason Warrick." Mason grinned and stood up. Mason looked down at the blonde woman.

"Not dead is always good... Unless your life sucks. Then I'd rather be dead." Mallith shrugged as they got up "Anyways, nice to meet you, [member="Mason"]." They held out her hand to the boy "Name's Mallith."

Mallith watched Mason closely. What was a gum chewing young boy, like him doing wandering the streets on Nar Shaada. If he'd stay out here any longer, he'd most likely be eaten alive. It isn't as if this doesn't happen often on Nar Shaada. All sorts of things happen on this moon. They looked up at Mason. There was blood on him. He was bound to get more hurt if he stays alone for much longer.

"Hey. It's not very safe out here." Mallith said "Where are you heading? Maybe I could escort you."

The fight had seemingly ended quicker than it had began. What looked like another bounty hunter had come to the kid's rescue and managed to intimidate the instigator well enough to see him off. The bounty hunter lifted the lanky kid off the ground and dusted him off.

The kid's lucky. Such acts of kindness should not be taken for granted in a place like this.

Mac had morals but that didn't make him a hero. Had the fight gone further south, then he would have probably broken it up but thankfully it hadn't come to that. Mac's stature was intimidating enough that he probably wouldn't have to unholster his axes to get his point across. At this point, the fight that the crowd wanted was clearly not going to happen so the disappointed pedestrians began to disperse. As the crowd began to break up, a girl bumped into him with quite a bit of speed. Mac was a giant and so the flimsy girl was the one who was sent on her back as if smacking into a wall.

Mac grunted, "Hey watch it kid."

Mac soon recognized her as the girl who he saw worming throughout the crowd when the fight was taking place. She was attractive but couldn't have been more than eighteen years old. Still just a kid. Mac's attitude shifted a little.

"You alright?"

Mac offered a hand to the girl on the ground knowing full well that the girl had attempted to pickpocket him. He was being mindful of the axes that were holstered at his sides.

Guz watched on, a cheeky grin on his smug face.

Nar Shaddaa was an old roaming ground of his, for the underworld was much like he was; shifty, dirty, and very, very untrustworthy. But he'd been around the moon more than enough times to know how to and how to not get attention in these parts. Hell, Guz was on the Hutt's most wanted list. Why he was on a crime world, almost entirely populated with thugs, Hutts, bounty hunters and other slime, nobody could quite understand. But he could, and that was all that mattered.

Not that any of them could catch him anyway.

He watched the girl do her smooth job at pickpocketing those around her, though he realized one or two had certainly seen her, and he chuckled. A show, for him? How wonderful. [member="Mara"] Illyret had quick hands and did it the way most professionals would, but some more level of skill would probably be required of her. She was sneaky, though; a good trait, one he absolutely admired.

The young man that had just had the living gum beaten out of him was not particularly strong, for sure. Though there was a lightsaber on him somewhere, the Supercriminal knew [member="Mason"] wouldn't be any good at using it. In fact, seemed the kid was certainly on the wrong moon at the worst of times.

The next character he noticed was the woman who saved him, the renowned bounty hunter ,[member="Mallith Renyl"], who even Guz had heard of. She seemed to be pretty good at what she did, though a woman of her taste - and indeed, beauty - was more suited to core world business. Regardless as to why she was out here in the reaches of the sludgy outer rim, Guz knew he'd have to introduce himself, treat her to a drink, maybe even get her holodigits...

The whole time he watched on, however, he couldn't keep his eyes off of the big guy, [member="Macoda Haberon"]. The man was a hunk of meat, a towering beast of a human with axes, AXES by his sides. He could probably lift a speeder with his bare hands and throw it like a javelin. He liked it, a lot.

What a motley crew that was presented before him. He'd have to take advantage of it... Anything to use as fuel against the Hutt Cartel on the crime riddled moon.

And so he stood by, looking each one in the eye, hoping to grab their attention so he wouldn't have to approach them himself. They'd notice him, for sure; his face was both handsome, and plastered on the wanted poster right beside him.

A deliberate move on his part.

"True. But my life is pretty lit." Mason joked. The woman asked where he was going, he grabbed her hand and got up. He patted down his pockets then looked at his jacket. "chit I got blood on it...This was designer jacket." the Jedi said as he pulled off his jacket and tossed it. He then turned his attention to the woman that helped him. "An escort? Well i don't really know where I'm going." The Jedi admitted.

"Lit? So that's what these teenagers say these days." Mallith mumbled under their breath before putting her attention back towards [member="Mason"] "Hey, I'm sorry about your jacket. I'm sure it will wash right off and even if it doesn't, that's too bad. Things like this is to be expected on Nar Shaada." They reached up to Mason' s shoulder so they could put their arm around it "Just stay near me. I'll make sure no one hurts you." As Mallith was talking to Mason, they also noticed someone else ([member="Guz McGarion"]) watching everyone in the area which intrigued them "What you looking at!?"

The Intergalactic criminal stood by, taking it all in, and grinning when the bounty hunter simply acknowledged him in the street.

Well, as acknowledging as a sudden outburst like that can get.

His only reply was to wink rather flirtatiously as he turned and slipped through the front doors of the Hostel he had been standing outside of. Right behind where he had been standing, layered over years of rotting paper on a bounty board, sat the smiling face of the criminal on a Dead or Alive bounty letter.

The price on it was horrific - it would easily set a dozen bounty hunters to become millionaires for life.

The simple thought of why he had been standing in front of it and watching the group, seemingly trying to get their attention, would have been beyond anyone's capability to understand.

He needed something.

"What you looking at!?"

Mac's attention was diverted upwards towards the blue bounty hunter and away from the girl on the ground. She took this opportunity to spring up and run away, disappearing in the sea of people. Mac confirmed that his axes remained at his sides and dismissed the girl, she didn't really mean anything to him anyways. No. Mac's eyes shifted to the bounty hunter and the beaten kid who had confronted this grey haired man leaning smugly against the wall of a hostel.

Mac grunted. His eyes looking from the blue bounty hunter to the man she confronted. Something was off about him. The man was too cocky, and wore a smile like he was in on a joke that no one knew about. Mac caught sight of the wanted poster hanging conspicuously next to the man.

What are you playing at?

Either the man was stupid or looking for a fight, both of which usually lead to a short life. Especially if you leaned next to a wanted poster of yourself. This sparked Mac's interest. The bounty was well worth the effort it would take, the grey haired man didn't look like much of a challenge at all. Still, Mac was cautious as ever. He didn't know what the man had up his sleeve, and his smile suggested that there was more than meets the eye. Mac frowned and carefully crept closer.

Alright I'll play your game. This trip might be profitable after all.

Mara silently thanked her luck as she disappeared into the crowd. The man she had bumped into didn't seem threatening, but on Nar Shadaa it was always better to be safe than friendly. Even as she walked away, listening to the crowd, she grabbed a few things, even taking a few credits off the sharply dressed woman who had helped the kid who got beat up. All the while, she kept her left hand in her bag, fingers wrapped around her blaster.

Mallith watched the man ([member="Guz McGarion"]) carefully as into the hostel. When she saw the wanted sign she put a big smirk as she put her hand on her blaster and told [member="Mason"] "Actually, I have a small errand I need to do first. You can come with if you'd like." As she turned to speak to him, she immediately noticed a woman ([member="Mara Illyrett"]) straight up taking her belongings. Mallith quickly pointed her DL-44 at her face and commanded her to "Put your hands up!"

[member="Macoda Haberon"]

As Mac stepped closer, inconspicuously trailing the grey haired man who slunk into a nearby hostel. He made sure to keep his distance behind the sharply dressed bounty hunter and her bubblegum chewing companion although he couldn't tell how obvious he was being for a man of his size. Suddenly, a small figure dashed past the bounty hunter, evidently relieving her of whatever she had in her pockets. The bounty hunter stopped her pursuit of the grey haired man and responded with her own speed, quickly drawing her blaster pistol on the kid.

"Put your hands up!"

Bloody Hell

Mac cursed, he didn't want a scene to start lest the grey haired man with the incredibly large bounty be spooked and disappear. He also didn't want to see some poor kid get blown away over some simple pick pocketing. Had it been some other scoundrel then sure let the bounty hunter blow his head off.... but she was just a kid. Before the situation could get out of hand, Mac quickly stepped up to the bounty hunter who still had her pistol drawn. Mac loomed over the bounty hunter, making his presence very well known.

"Let's not make any hasty decisions here," Mac said in a low voice in order to not drawn any attention. He looked around to see if the grey haired man was still there but Mac could no longer see him. "There are bigger prizes to be had."

Mac settled his unwavering gaze back onto the sharply dressed bounty hunter who still pointed her pistol at the young girl's forehead. Mac locked eyes with the bounty hunter, his axes half way unholstered. He was involved in whatever this was, no going back now.

Mara swore under her breath. First time she got caught in a while. Mara slowly turned around, staring her victim/opponent in the face. Mara took her right hand out of her bag, holding the credits she took, except two or three of course.

"Look, I can just give you these back, and we can both be on our way, no harm done."

Then the guy who she had bumped into walked over, beginning to draw axes and hulking over the other bounty hunter, the one with the gun pointed at her face. Mara began to back up as a small crowd began to form. Mara's white knuckle grip on her pistol loosened as she moved her index finger to ready position.

The Intergalactic super criminal slipped into the Hostel, hoping that the attention of those outside had been gained; he needed a motley crew, one that he could use against the Hutt Family on the ragged planet. This would be hilarious and incredibly shift,y and a completely dangerous job if something turned horribly wrong.

Guz loved taking dangerous bets against all odds. And he trusted that those that were following him would certainly be in on it when they came in;

they wouldn't have much of a choice. The entire building was booby trapped. As soon as they entered, they wouldn't be leaving unless Guz said so. And if all went well, they would all leave the planet alive, and very, very rich allies.

He chuckled; the Hutts were going to suffer.

Mallith took a deep breath in and exhaled "You better give them to me." She then noticed a grey haired man step to her. She glared at him for his suggestion "I don't take lightly to being robbed. Anyways, I'd like to have my things back before I take my leave."
