That laughter was an annoyance. The boy wasn't used to anyone other than himself even pretending to have fun in battle. To have anyone else displaying anything akin to enjoyment while he himself wasn't felt inherently wrong. If he wasn't having fun, no one should. Causing discomfort was his thing, not something someone could just do to him. And if he had his way, no one would. He was not here for someone else's amusement, those days were long over.

"Oh I know exactly who you are, uh, whatever your name is." The face was unforgettable, with that scar and all. The name, however, was another story. It must not have been that important at the time. Oh well, if it was important he might remember it after today. The mention of the Dark Lord had his attention, his head cocking to the side at the mention of the man. Now that was a name he remembered. The very notion of him bowing to such a creature was a ridiculous notion. An infuriating one at that.

He felt the pressure, trying to push him into bowing before the Lord. It was one thing to tell him to do it, a bit silly, sure, but the moment Drios attempted to force him into it had him absolutely infuriated. "Give it a moment, there won't be anything to bow to." His threat was barely above a deadly whisper. With the jerk of a hand, a burst of telekinetic energy grasped at portions of rubble they were surrounded by, flinging the material at the Sith Lord.

I feel my fire starts to burn
The heat controlling my mind
Berserk a savage running wild
Within me the beast starts to roar

The whole company took their positions quite hastily, more than two dozen of homing missile launchers had made their way into the hands of capable soldiers.

:: Already done, m'am. :: Alta's reply came shortly after Lieutenant Saryn's orders came through.. :: Whole company's ready. Waitin' for Blue Squadron. ::

Odd noise behind him took his attention and the lieutenant turned his head around to see the same bear looking Sith from Dromund Kaas munching on some leaves from an oddly looking tree. He wished to raise his finger and ask a question but he only muttered over to Bo Lin.

:: Sir, we, uh', we've got some bogeys comin' our way - i'd suggest ya to git sum cover. :: Scipio nodded respectfully before turning back to focus on the homing missile launcher he held.

On Scipio's HUD were registered the arrivals of Galactic Imperial reinforcements. A new callsign showed up, too - Inquisitor Actual. Not surprisingly, the head of the reinforcements himself. Meanwhile, the deployed machinery from the Galactic Empire began delivering its addition to the firepower of the artillery pieces that kept on unleashing hell on Xucphra City.

The Sith would leave this world behind only when it turned into ash. The 42nd Airbone Division looked forward to doing it.

The galaxy needed an example. This was it.

:: Stiletto Actual to all Stiletto Callsigns, Blues coming in, get ready for bogey scum to enter range before you let all guns blazing. :: Captain Najek's voice came through and confirmations rained back to him.

The lieutenant's HUD as every other Sith-Imperial's HUD, more or less, gave them the ability to understand what was happening in the sky and when their Armada brothers and sisters begun getting shot down, Alta could not help but feel shortness of breath but he focused and hoped.

Confusion sparked in his mind to why the Blues had dived down into the city, they were doing perfectly well with their straight flight path to Stiletto. As any good soldier, Scipio tossed the questions into the depths of his mind. He did not need questions now, nor answers. He only needed to focus and fire when needed. The sounds of Sith-Imperial artillery pounding heavily the city deafened the closer the quickly decreasing in number Blue Squadron got to the positions of Stiletto Company.

"Blue Leader to Stiletto Actual, it doesn't look like we're going to make it to you. Too many bogies, flew down when I shouldn't have."

"Almost complete casualties. Just two of us left, now."

Captain Najek's face was not the usual calm and collected. Anger was stirring in his veins. Anger and confusion. Anger at those who downed their comrades one by one and confusion at Blue Squadron's odd maneuvers. Maneuvers that took them into becoming easy targets for Alliance fighters.

"Make that one. Just me, now. The hostile squadron should get to your position momentarily. Give them hell. Blue Squadron, out."

The captain took a deep breath and as any experienced soldier concentrated on the task ahead.

In Najek's mind, the famous speech of the Emperor [member="Darth Carnifex"] was on repeat. It was carved in his head and the last bits of it echoed endlessly in the depths of his wits.

...crush the arrogant in war

The last explosion of a TIE fighter signaled the beginning of inferno in the sky.

The Galactic Alliance squad locked in by over a two dozen homing missile launchers and the numerous Monolith walker's quad laser cannons from an adjacent side, the orders for fire came in immediately. HUD interlinking between Sith-Imperial units made sure no overlapping occured when locking targets.

Scipio pulled his trigger and immediately began reloading, others doing the same.

A storm of homing missiles darted with sonic speed at the Alliance fighters, as eager as the men who fired them to obliterate their targets. On the other hand, Monolith walkers unleashed their arsenal at the squadron.

The skies lit up in retribution.

There were no better Jedi hunters in the galaxy than their eternal counterpart - The Sith and vice-versa. Vitor's goal within the burning city of Xucphra clear as the bright flames engulfing the planet in a magnificent chorus of retribution.

Of justice.

Unlike most Sith-Imperial forces on the ground, Vitor did not bother slaying everything capable of movement. Precision and efficiency were key characteristics of his persona. The case today would not differ. He sought the so-called defenders of Light and end their agonizing existence. Only in the grasp of the Sith would the galaxy find law and order.

The Sith Lord's sharpened senses lead him to where the Light basked the Jedi.

Keeping his profile low, both physically and within the Force, the cloaked figure of Vitor Avendahl made its way to the burning hospital. The usage of Force beckoning him. From the corner of the entrance he caught a glimpse of a Sith being flung backwards with the power of the ethereal. At the other end of the encounter stood a Mirialan female.

A Jedi.

He gracefully moved to a more concealed position and observed.

Awaiting the opportunity to strike true the foe like an assassin's venomous dagger.

The closer the boy drew, the more radiant the presence grew. As Ambroys continued to stare out toward the fleet that sat above the skies of Thyferra, like a carrion bird waiting for the right moment to collect its meal, he could feel the emotions that played the Jedi he had met as a mere child like a puppet get greater and closer still. He wasn't alone, either, it was rather cute to behold; he had gathered a strike team to his cause, no doubt to defeat the Count of Mania and bring him to justice for the death of his master all those years ago. Or perhaps it was more recent? More so, what was his name? As he waited and delved into his thoughts to try and remember the name of the young boy who witnessed the Sith Lord brutalize his master, he could hear the officers communicate behind him at their stations;

"Sir, we have an incoming vessel, it's not one of ours. Transport, no doubt a boarding party."
"Our cannons will shoot it down, worry not Ensign."
"No."

The Count of Mania spoke aloud, the Captain of the rather sizable vessel that the Sith Lord had requisitioned as his personal front row seat to the sacking of the planet below seemed to look towards the Elderly Sith with a questioning gaze, though still showed the proper respect; "My Lord?"

"Do not fire upon them, allow them to board. The boy comes seeking my death, the payment of blood for his master draws him to me. It is this that will be his undoing. Let him bring his light aboard this vessel, his troops to strike this vessel down. Only then will he realize his folly. You never know, Captain,

We might make a friend of him yet."

The Captain hesitated yet nodded, referring his orders among the bridge crew. The boy, now remembered to the Count as Jacen, would have no difficulty making his arrival aboard the vessel.

The true fun would begin when they were within the halls of madness.

"Sweet karking Kaine on a cracker," she muttered as Morgan showed her the receiver.

"CHANGE OF PLANS KIDS!" She called out over the squad channel. "Plant the charges. Sixty seconds and we're out of here! Anything not loaded up we're leaving. Samez, Tallis, get the lifts running. Jaris, Xeric, quit karking around and get that barrel. Ramirez you're with me, take the left side I'll take the right."

Dante hefted the cluster of explosive charges and glanced at Morgan.

"Take Jonas and watch our arses?" Her voice was lower. There wasn't anyone else she trusted- he was a good soldier, and his cybernetics gave him an edge.

Of course.

That was all.

Once she got a nod she turned away, hurrying across the warehouse hangar.

Objective: Fire and Blood.

Everything had been different since Felucia. Before that, she had known her place, where she belonged and fit, even if perhaps it wasn't always comfortable. But something intrinsic had shifted. Nearly a week of unrestrained mania and blood shed, so alien to the usually calm and collected woman. It had left everything thirty degrees off kilter. Luca had kept her alive, literally, forcing her to sleep, to eat, instead of endlessly slaughtering. The order from Kaine, unintended, make them bleed, but an order it had been and there had been no denying it. It hadn't been a matter of choice. It had been embedded impulse, a need placed into the psyche of the clone- perhaps it never would have been used, but a fail-safe surely for a woman cloned from the architect of the Omega Crisis.

She glanced sidelong at Luca, though he couldn't see it through the mask. She didn't answer him. She didn't trust herself to.

None of that was quite right. Not really. It wasn't Felucia that had changed her.

It was Luca.

If he hadn't been.... everything he had been..... she thought that maybe, just maybe, she could have gone back. Back to nothing mattering. Back to the chill, the over correction after what had happened so early. Emotions, memories pushed on her that weren't hers and the utter rejection of it all. Making a choice to not feel, to not care.

That was the problem though, wasn't it? It didn't mean that she had no emotions. It just meant that she never allowed herself to feel them.

Now she was.

And it complicated everything.

She nodded, bringing her thoughts back to the now. The warehouse he'd chosen was large inside, with plenty of ambush points. Something shifted in the Force and she grimaced, not sure exactly what was happening or why. Kith had no experience with Force bonds, had never thought to search deeply into them.

::Get somewhere out of sight:: She subvocalized. ::Fire when you have a shot. I'll keep his attention, use his distraction.::

It was an order, not a suggestion, and Luca nodded, melting into the shadows to take up a position. Part of her knew that he would be most useful as an ambush. And she could logically give that as a reason. But.... Part of her wanted to keep him safe- words that she had not yet said bubbling in her chest.

She moved to the center of the space, turning and activating her second saber- shorter, curved hilt, the blade a paler shade of blue. She didn't remember why she used blue saber crystals instead of the more traditional red of other Sith. It wasn't a memory that belonged to her, and after she'd been cut off from the sliver of the original's soul on Serrano, she had lost any capacity to pull up those memories. But it felt right.

She was waiting for him when he came through the door. Dark shadows illuminated in a circle of azure just around the masked figure, her voice unrecognizable as male or female, young or old, human.... or not- distorted by the vocoder of the mask.

The form before him was utterly still as she regarded him. She assumed he was doing whatever it was on purpose. It wasn't an entirely accurate explanation of what ever it was felt like, but it was close enough.

The last thing she ever wanted to do, was to step in Galactic Alliance space again. Okay, maybe that was rather farfetched, almost nigh impossible to avoid forever. But it didn't stop Mara from worrying, fretting over the fact she was currently in a area of space that would likely have her strung up, if they caught her.

It was alleviated by the fact she was effectively a ghost, decreed KIA years ago. And even then, all her records had been expunged and 'Mara Kellarov' had technically ceased to exist after that day.

So to say the least, she was fairly nervous being in GA space.

All it took was one face, someone from the past to see her, for everything to potentially blow up in her face. Thankfully, a good ninety percent of them were dead these days.

Still didn't lessen the concern she felt.

Nonetheless, her job on Thyferra had been a simple one. To oversee a deal to purchase some Bacta, a simple matter of arriving at the destination, meeting the buyer and making the transaction. No fanfare, no getting shot at.

Just an ordinary, simple mission.

After that it had been matter of waiting for the transports to arrive to collect the newly acquired product. With time to kill, Mara did the one thing she knew was a consistently good time to waste the time away.

Hitting up a cantina and having a drink or three.

Mara had only gotten into her second when she heard it. Through the noise of the patrons and the soft music playing throughout, the Agent could hear the thunderous sound of boots hitting the ground.

The double doors were kicked in and a squad of troops stormed the establishment. They did not hesitate in opening fire. Mara quickly moved from her seat at the bar, just in time as a bolt struck the spot her glass had been. For a moment she stood there, looking at the soldiers trying to recognize them.

It didn't take long as she caught sight of the emblem that was plastered on their armour.

The Sith Empire.

It's always the Sith...

"What are you doing?"

The voice brought Mara's attention to the very real danger before her. She quickly unholstered her blaster and began returning fire, diving behind the table Saoirse had handily knocked over.

"I was just assessing the situation."

The rebuke delivered by the Goddess was taken in strides as he inclined his head in moderate acceptance.

Of course luck would be with them, when the Goddess of Luck was the one hungering for a good meal. Already the paw curled tight around the handle of his power hammer. A human would have needed to use two hands to keep it up and would still tire after a while, but for Kaz? It almost felt like a toy. It was like carrying the wind about you... until it actually hit someone with its power engaged.

It could smash through boulders and humanoids were squishy things.

He had not yet encountered one of them that could survive a direct hit, much less repeated ones. "I... call myself Kazmai." It was not his real name, but it was as good as any and better than Six.

To be reduced to a simple number had not been the worst of the things suffered. Yet it came close to it.

"Do you have a preference for a name, oh Shining One?" Perhaps Da'shee had a preference for one title or name or the other. It was his duty to ensure she remained pleased... or it could spell doom for all of them. An indignant Goddess of Luck could wreck havoc around her. Years of luck wiped away in an instant, replaced by failed crops and worse.

His hearts were pumping hard.

Adrenaline started to course, saliva running and forcing him to swallow to wet the dryness of submission. The fight was close to them. Kaz could feel that, but the trickster goddess was comparable to a leash.

She kept him grounded in the moment.

For now.

In Scene: High Warlord Malgrog
Equipment:

As the force of alliance neared moving through the jungle carefully with gunship support in the skies, the graut advanced scouts hastily reported the forces to their overseers. Word came back to High Warlord Malgrog about the troops who were walking right into disaster, and a vicious plan was hatched in his mind then. "Move the graut horde wide and behind them. Warlord Gorkai bring your shock troops forward. Warlord Ukrauth split your clan on either side let loose the war beasts. We shall feast on MANFLESH." The High Warlord ordered. While his warlords followed orders he made sure his clans anti aircraft weaponry were prepared, the gunships would be the first to go. The signal to the dark legion that the ambush was to begin.

A short time after...

The soldiers of the Galactic Alliance found the jungle eerily quiet with the exception of jungle noises, maybe the occasional swift moving graut through the underbrush that was caught out and killed. A smart commander would find this unusual to Taeli Raaf it reeked of an ambush. But unbeknownst to everyone present her loyalties were with others, she said absolutely nothing, using none of the intuition that Jedi Masters had to warn her soldiers. Maybe they had caught the Sith unprepared and maybe they had the chance to take them by surprise?

Until the explosion.

A dozen anti aircraft rockets streamed across the sky impacting on the gunship support above in brilliant orange plumes their blasts strong enough to rock the entire gunship as they blew apart descending in balls of fire to the jungle beneath as men burned alive, blew into pieces or fell to their deaths or injury into the jungle below. The entire force barely had enough time to be alarmed before the first wave came directly in front of them. Heavy shock troops with chain gun cannons that were more made for aircraft cannons than the massive graug that stood nearly nine feet tall gripping them. The torrent of fire from these heavy gunners exploded into the ranks of soldiers those who were caught in the open were just plain torn to pieces by the auto cannons, others managed to get to cover and begin returning fire as the battle had begun.

That was until the roars.

A loud united roar so deep, so deafening they drowned out the sounds of the auto cannons rocked through the jungle like a great explosion. A frenzied horde of ravenous monsters from ones deepest darkest nightmares surged from both sides of the jungle. Wicked long clawed mutated Guzijeij that shrieked wildly, massive graunk and weapon toting glycons. The great warband of graug and Hyal'Hâsk http://starwarsrp.net/topic/107217-hyalhâsk-they-who-crave-anguish/http://starwarsrp.net/topic/107217-hyalhâsk-they-who-crave-anguish/charged in their wake then from three sides in a slaughter so atrocious it could make the very gods above weep. It wasn't just enough to kill them and move on. The graug fed on the terror, the panic. They ripped the soldiers to pieces with blaster, blade, tooth and claw in sprays of blood and gore that turned ones stomach.

Taeli Raaf had run her troops right into a meat grinder.

Those foolish enough to try and run would find the massive horde of graut and warghests charge in from the rear boxing them in. In the middle of it all waded Malgrog. The massive High Warlord lifted a man in the air with one hand clenched around his throat, while he held the other down on the ground with a boot to his face. Malgrog flashed a toothy grin to the man held and others around while he leaned forward, his bulk so great the sheer pressure crushed the grounded man's skull with a sickening crunch. In the eyes of such hopelessness the High Warlord simply roared out to his legion "Empire! Emperor! Loyalty!"

The High Warlord then planted the man in his hand face down on the ground and dropped a knee down to hold him in place. Malgrog slashed with a clawed hand into the mans back digging deep, he wrapped a hand around the mans spinal chord and with a heave he ripped out the mans spine holding it high in the air, again he roared his chant repeated across the entire legion over the battle.

"EMPIRE! EMPEROR! LOYALTY!"

It was during these moments that Morgan was at his best.

Hands steady, heart beat stable, there wasn't anything else on his mind except the mission. Except when Dante spoke... she was a distraction, but a good one. Mor didn't really know what they were. Didn't really worry about the definitions, but she kept him grounded somewhat. Before they met? The mission was all he had. Now Morgan had a reason to get out as well.

"Done." Morgan agreed with a nod, before gesturing for Jonas to follow him. "DeWitt, take right, I take left. We sweep the backrooms first. Then we take it side by side, got it?" One missive at a time, instructions coming in piece-meal, so they wouldn't see the entire picture.

It was crap, of course.

One of the reasons why people got killed. But in a high-tense situation Morgan couldn't afford Jonas to start worrying and having his brain race in front of his body.

That was all Morgan needed. They left the group behind for now, taking it slow as they passed the empty corridor. Modular rifle at ready, currently set up for short-burst fire better suited for this close-quarter situation. :: sir? ::

"Gonna be fine, Jon, keep your eye on the scope." Before they could get much further into the discussion Dan pinged back. It was time to get out, the timers would be set in the next couple of seconds. "Looks fine here-"

Blaster shot.

Morgan dropped to the ground, behind the wall. Jonas was less lucky, his glasses melt as the plasma wrapped itself around his face and instantly evaporated him.

The curse was barely out of his mouth before Mor started running. "Incoming, Jonas is down, coming in hot." This was his rodeo, when things started going sideways Morgan was at his best. Already he threw a 'nade over his shoulder in the run. Timer set, it would go off... right... about... now. But he wasn't there for the reaction, he was around the corner and approached Dan and the group.

It had been a long time coming, but Zahori had finally gotten what she wanted. After the attack on Muunilist, Zahori vowed vengeance for the insult that was the offense that the Galactic Alliance had produced when they fled Muunilist. At the time, she could not get what she wanted, but she waited patiently. And it turned out in her favor as the Empire's invasion of Thyferra was all but inevitable. This would be her chance to enact her vengeance.

In the peace of space surrounding Thyferra, a fleet of ships came out of hyperspace, several kilometers from the orbital defense platforms deployed by the Galactic Alliance to defend Thyferra. They were ancient models, but still effective. Zahori knew better than to underestimate their strength. This is why she brought with her a full attack fleet. Two Plague-classes, the Sith's most impressive carriers, were flanked by four Ascendant-classes, four Xo'Xaans, and several Exterminators. At the center of the fleet was Zahori's command ship, Sable Scar, an Imperator-class battlecruiser from the era of the Sith Ascendancy. Zahori came with all the firepower she could muster and it was quite the power she had.

Zahori sat idly by as the fleet exited hyperspace and locked her gaze on the orbital defense platforms. She slowly exhaled as she rose form her chair and walked closer to the center of the bridge. Viewports at her sides and before her, RADM Denko began the assault. "All ships, fire when ready. Decimate their defenses. Don't even leave a screw unscathed." And with her cold command, the Sith fleet began firing upon the defense stations in a hail of all their powerful weaponry. All starfighter wings departed their respectful hangars and made bearings for the defense stations, their weapons hot and ready to be unleashed upon their targets. Zahori would make no mistakes or errors during this battle. She came with something to prove. Not just to her superiors, but to her enemies as well.

Be careful...that was one thing he couldn't guarantee. If there was a trait that he and his brother shared, loathed as he was to admit any similarities beyond their physical natures, it was an unshakable recklessness. He couldn't speak to Reverance's reasoning, beyond a simple desire for death, but for him - the Marshal - it stemmed once from a need to prove the good in him. And now, the habit just seemed to stick.

::I'm not a fan of that answer, Taheera...:: He trailed off as he watched the leaky and burning figure ([member="Orion Darkstar"]) as he walked amidst the targets, currently under fire by the ad hoc sniper. He didn't have enough time to get a shot off before the Sith entered the medical facility and Gabe felt his heart sink. Even now, even from the distance, he could feel the spike in Taheera's force presence as she moved within the medical center - trapped like a green verdant-gazed rat.

Pressing his fingers against the forearm datapad, he quickly connected with the shelved defense drone.

Like a bat out of hell, the defensive drone whirled off from the confines of the stealth ship in direction of the facility. In a matter of moments, its shield would initiate and it would navigate the halls to Taheera's specific bio sensor array. And there, the drone would serve as the protocol dictated.

Gabe fire off rounds of the sniper rifle until there was nothing left in the clip. Bang bang bang. Not taking aiming into account, he hit a few targets before the muzzle turned red and the sound went dead. He was more intent on drawing attention and with that sniper rifle used up, he stood up and pulled the blaster rifle from his back. Loading up a clip, he fired a volley of shots into the sky before peppering the streets with a slurry of blaster rounds.

Taking a step towards the ledge, he amplified the force around him as he jumped to the next building - lower in landscape. Landing with a thud, he began a quick charge, leap frogging buildings in direction of the medical facility, as he continued to fire on the Sith soldiers and hellions below.

He could feel the subjugated shard in the heavy hilt begin to wimper as Bo slowly thumbed the weapon active. The shard screamed in the force and Bo ate another handful of carrots from his pocket. The saber continued to scream as Bo lunged around a corner and lopped the head off a fleeing bug-person-thing.

He paused only to pull off a leg and spear some meat out of the creature's carapice to hold over a fire. That was what he had come for really, see exotic places, meet new species, taste them.

Bo walked slowly away from the tree, leaf crumbs on his chin and started toward the engagement area. He didn't particularly want to kill humans but the big bugs were another story entirely. He had never eaten giant bug before, you see, and human he didn't really have time to season properly in these conditions. He looked around at the fires that were spreading...cooking wouldn't be a problem though.

She practically danced her way into the capital slicing and dicing any living person that tried to either stop her or flee from her wrath as blaster fire soared as she redirected them back towards the shooters as she continued her little trot through the city, She was practically in heaven doing what she was doing but she was hoping there would be more of a challenge that lasts longer then a few moments. Then as if someone heard her complaints she laid eyes on a young Jedi woman that was helping out the civilians, Her simple grin turned into a full twisted teeth shown smile as she made her way over twirling her active blades as she walked licking her lips a little before she spoke with the voice of a child about to open there first present at there Birthday combined with a eerie twisted almost as if this woman was possessed by something as she spoke to the young jedi.

I was hoping to find a worthy toy to play with during my time here, All these others are so frail and break too easily. She said with a pouty tone like a child who was disappointed when there toy breaks or doesn't work properly before she spoke again back in that malicious tone from before.

Your a pretty little thing...I might keep you for later I wouldn't want to have anyone else break such things without my consent after all, But first I must see how fragile you are little one.

Her blades started to surge with lightning as she continued walking towards her her eyes where filled with a wild lust for battle and blood and she hoped this one would give her such battles.

The saber glowing like a blue beacon of hope in her right hand, Stephanie urged and guided scared citizens back the way she had come, a clear path with a couple of unconscious Sith soldiers trailing along the floor.

”Go! That way - you'll be safe away from here!”

There was an acrid smell in the air - not just the smell of death and fire wafting across the city, but from the Dark Side. Stephanie's face was gritted with a determination like no other, and her head lifted for a second, processing the spike in the Force like she felt on Mirial, and span around to see another female standing there. A female tainted by the darkness, standing with crimson blades and face that looked ghostly. The Sith spoke like a child, an innocence and wonder to her tone but with death and bloodlust in her eyes.

Stephanie raised her blade up and stepped around between the Sith and the Alliance citizens running from the small path she had ventured on. The crimson blades seemed to spark to life, and Stephanie recoiled slightly. With a shaking of her shoulders and passing the hilt from one hand to the other quickly, she slid the shield off her back and looped it around her left wrist and held it close, peering over the lip.

”Where I stand, there is no fragility my friend. Only the Force, and the Light.”

Her brown boots crunched as she side-stepped slowly to gauge the space around her and keep moving, mind racing with "what ifs" and "hows".

”Please see this is not the way. You don't need to do this.”

Inside, she kicked herself - why did she say that? It was such a dead-end statement and not what she should have done. What she should have done was charge, attack and beat the Sith down. Instead, she fought down the adrenaline starting to course through her veins.

Drios was enjoying himself, perhaps a little too much. The Epicanthix could feel himself getting sidetracked, deviating from his intention of gutting the annoying little brat open like the butcher he was destined to be. For a few moments, silence greeted Cairyn as the Lord constructed a response to his bold statement. "Soon enough you will learn to fear my name." was all he elected to say, his voice still deep and demonic as if it wasn't coming from him and from the battlefield itself, which seemed to rage on with tempestuous ferocity whilst paying no attention to the standoff in the midst of the turmoil.

Darth Aurum's face exploded with glee, his maw flashing open to expose dazzling teeth, gritted and as nasty as a vornskr's. Cairyn was his prey, and he would consume him.

Upon the threat, however, Drios' mood turned and the Force shifted around him, and he was sure that his adversary would feel the seismic change in his aura. As the rubble sailed toward him, the largest pieces were caught mid-trajectory by some invisible hand, and tossed into a crowd of friends or foes, ending their pitiful existence with a plume of dust and crimson blood. The smaller pieces impacted him, but bounced from his robes leaving him relatively unscathed.

"Empty threats, little boy." he would snarl, taking a few paces forward and whirling his blade around him, a blur of vermilion light obscuring the behemoth of a man in a shroud of dust and energy. "Shall we see whether your pathetic skills with a blade have improved?" came the next question, before a massive leap bridged the gap between the pair and a roar escaped from his cavernous lungs as the Dark Side swelled within him.

Darth Aurum was using Djem So, and with a massive yet fleet arc, he aimed to land upon Cairyn and batter into his orbalisks to at least disorientate and stun his opponent.

The blaster bolts that came near were deflected after the white blade in his hand sprang forth to meet them. He made sure they flew harmlessly into some bit of wall or something so that no one got hurt, of course. For whatever reason, even though he was being shot at he didn't feel like the bounty hunter was really trying to kill him. Either that or he had bad aim. Could be either. Could also be he was just stupid, and that was why he wasn't using the sonic pistol.

That line of thinking changed when a jet of hot napalm snapped out at him. He flung himself backward, away from the flames, and through a doorway. Alas, the door had not been open, and such he grunted in pain in the hall, realizing he had bruised his ribs for certain. He grumbled as he worked his way to the opposite side of the building and knocked out a window with his saber. Nobody was around and considering the considerable damage that had already befallen the building, he didn't think one pane of glass would matter much.

He jumped out the window and landed on the fire escape of the building across, which he started climbing, still following the shapeshifter around.

"Bloody kids and their uncivilized toys. Nobody knows how to fight anymore. For that matter, no one knows how to be decent anymore."
