The Chorus of Chaos (Dominion Dom of Mandalore Hex)

"Here they come!"
Jhiaga took cover to avoid the debris caused by the drop pods falling down upon Concord Dawn, readying herself. She hated this; having no parameters for her to tactically plan something. It was nothing more than standing her ground from now on... which would probably be easier now that she saw allies approaching from behind. She raised her fist at them, thankful to see more people around. "Look alive!"
She went to look down at her wrist-mounted display, only for her to frown once more. Turning to the side, she held a finger up, confused.
"The Death Watch isn't allied to the Empire now, is it?"
This whole invasion was getting more and more chaotic by the second.

I stared down into a village from atop a hill, the hood of my robe draped down over my head just enough to allow my eyes to see clearly. The villagers, unaware of the danger they were in, went about their activities associated with village life. I counted no more than twenty adults and five children, a small village by most accounts. I was of the strong opinion these people down here wouldn't aid me in my quest, but I was already here salivating at the mouth from the prospect of tasting pure and innocent flesh.

I began my trek down the hillside, when I felt a strong disturbance in the Force. Not halting my advance, I stretched out to connect with the being whom I felt; taking notice it was indeed a worshipper of the dark side. I didn't attempt to mask myself in the Force, I wanted this individual to know that a real life nightmare had come to infect this village. I stopped at the edge of the village, accumulating several puzzled stares from the inhabitants of this small, quaint community.

"My name is Darth Sarcophago, Inquisitor of the Sith Ascendancy," I announced. The woman began gathering their children up when I added, "I did not give you permission to leave." The strong tone of my voice was enough to freeze the woman in their current positions. The men, however, were of the notion of becoming heroes as several of them, brandishing small farming tools and equipment, moved toward me. "It will not benefit any of you to challenge me. I will kill you, make no mistake about it."

The men, still high on heroism, continued marching toward me. "Very well." Digging into my knowledge of the dark side, I conjured up Inflict Pain on the nearest male, forcing his body to experience immense amounts of pain; thus causing his companions to come to his aid. In that split moment it took them to come to his side, I had produced my weapon and lit the lightwhip end of it; slashing it out in front of me cutting down two other males. I powered down my weapon, noticing their heroic faces changed to that of horror. "So, shall we have a civilized conversation now?"

The Eastern Front...

Volck watched as the edge of Keldabe became a raging inferno. Another barrage of Artillery fell upon the troops and men died in scores. The AT-AT went down in a terrific explosion. They had lost the majority of their artillery, but Volck was determined they could make it forward.

His power armored frame turned swiftly as a speeder charged him. It careened past him and he cut the rider in two with his echani sword. The day sky turned bleak and dark as the buildings burned. The battle flags on his back flew listlessly in the wind and screams filled the air. It was impossible for him to make out anything. The smoke clogged the streets. The fog of war had settled on Keldabe.

As he readied to charge forth a great sound as if the cogs of war had become tangible began. He turned just in time to witness Hailfire tanks emerge from the ash stricken clouds. They barraged the saber tanks with missiles and the Saber’s turned to face the Hailfire’s assault. Lunarius was shaken as a tank exploded near him and he subconsciously lifted his arm to shield his face. The tanks fired at the Hailfires, but they were outnumbered.

A new threat materialized as a unidentified amount of armored vehicles began to circle the battlefield and fired upon Volck’s forces. The AT-ST’s engaged the new threat, using their speed and mobility to run circles around the foe. With the support of Volck’s mechanized vehicles divided in trying to fight off the enemies own armor his troops became easy prey for the speeders.

Volck reached behind him and grabbed hold of the flag on his back. He waved it high into the air “Retreat men! Fall back to the beachhead!” They needed to regroup. They were to outmatched by the Mandalorians to continue this fight.

[member="Ardgal Raxis"]

The Southern front…

Blaster fire sang through the air as thousands of men fired their weapons at one another. Hundreds of men charged and all over the battlefield skirmishes turned into bloody melees as men closed the gap between life and no man’s land. The AT-AT’s leveled defensive and civilian structures. Great heaping chunks of rock and soot filled the air as explosions collapsed buildings. Machine gun nest spat salvos of death at anything that moved.

The trooper with the flag moved forward and waved it triumphantly, but was knocked back as a great boom shook the earth. He went flying into the air and landed with a thud. The flag lay just outside his grasp. He reached out and took ahold of it. His ears ringing, nose bleeding he stood on shaky legs. More explosions rang out around him. He looked above to see several bombers and gunships circling the battlefield like carrion of death.

Lunarius felt something slam into his back. It knocked the wind out of his lungs and the bolter went flying from his grasp. Suddenly another great wind slammed into his front and he had to dig his boot into the ground to avoid flying backwards. The heretic claimed Mephirium had turned against them, but Lunarius knew this to not be true.

The AT-ST’s turned their focus to the skies and began to fire upon the ships with their miniguns. An AT-AT collapsed upon the barren earth as the dar’yaim cannons took out it's legs. The saber tanks raced to engage the artillery and protect the remaining Walkers. The trooper searched the battlefield to find the priest who had helped him up before. He discovered the man lying on the ground obviously dead.

The trooper ran to his side and tore the robes from the priest armor. He tied them around the flag pole and waved it high into the sky. “See here! A saint is born!” the trooper cried and it was true. Through an act of faith the priest had single handedly rallied the troops to fight onwards. His robes became the new banner in which they rallied behind.

But, this priest was not the only saint. He was indeed only one of many. For the faith of Lunarius’s legion held so strongly that they could hold against any assault. So, as the heretics words exited his mouth. They were already doomed to fail.

Still lunarius heard them and felt the words hang on his heart. Had the Archlord truly abandoned them? His troops would continue to fight forever if they had too, but for what? To what avail? It seemed increasingly obvious the battle was doomed. Still Lunarius charged the man again. This time bringing his blade high and aiming to bring it down atop the man's head. “I WILL NOT FALTER!”

Virgil pressed her forefingers to the side of her temple, "Repeat, we didn't copy....... Copy that."

Ardgal looked to his helmeted cousin, quirking a brow. She stood to her full height, proud but also a hint of confusion carried in her voice, "Sir, the enemy is retreating. We've lost all but one of the deployed Grinders, sir, and five of the Hellstorms."

He looked at the holographic images on the board before them, he could see several of his heavy armored units going down, the Grinder and a few of the Hellstorms going up in brilliant balls of fire at the concentrated fire of the AT-ST's. It was good ground work, an effective counter attack to his secondary ambush. It was a killing ground, it was only logical for the enemy to retreat to better ground for themselves.

Ground his enemy already had re-enforced. If they were going to make this work, it was going to take some serious timing and planning.

Ardgal pointed to Walters, "I want full Artillery fire focused on the enemy's encampment. Hit them with all they have, push the barrels to the redline."

"Sir?"

"I want you to level it, leave no survivors. Give them a battered, shell-scarred beach to return to."

"Yes, sir."

He pointed to Virgil, "Order all heavy machinery to withdraw. There's nothing we can do to save the torched buildings, want them to start smashing them so it doesn't spread to the rest of the city. Set up the Vode and Alpha for phase 2 of defense."

"Yes sir."

Now for the tricky part, "Order the Icarus guns to start shelling the retreating enemy. All of them, focus fire on the ATST's. Utilize their SSM Concussion missiles in salvo fire to maximize their effectiveness and minimize reload time. Start to move the Behemoth in line with the rest of our troops waiting in line. We will do further work when we have finished protecting this city."

The fleeing enemy would find the Mandalorians stayed in the city, but the destruction would not end. No, far from it. A salvo of 45 SSM concussion missiles would soar through the air like golden falling stars, landing with ground shaking force. Massive blossoms of fiery red explosions roared where they landed like God himself was angry. At the beachhead, a pelt of Artillery fire would come down on them like metal rain. The flak rounds blasted with horrific force, sending shrapnel and concussion waves in all directions as they landed.

Aedan watched as the men rallied already having taken casualites and down a large amount of vehicles as the gunships turned their fire onto the AT-ST Mk 3's firing homing missiles after the walkers before firing on them with their laser turrets. He looked back as the man leapt at him swinging his sword downward Aedan reached out his free hand and suddenly clenched it into a fist using the force to take hold of the sword swinging down at him the young man turned his violet gaze on the man shaking his head gently. Closing his eyes he started to draw on the force his body starting to shake lightly before his eyes snapped open the once violet gaze now almost straight crimson with lines of violet throughout it as he stepped forward his presence in the force screaming of darkness. Finally he let out a loud yell of anger and rage before he swung his lightsaber pike downward the grip he had on the mans almost ruined sword through the force tightening as he let the rage take him over.

Around him the Knights of Bogan sensing what was happening started direct his men to move around or away from Aedan to keep them safe while they fought the enemy the 25 members of his guard moving to create a half circle behind the young man who was losing himself to his rage. His men moved now forward moving from cover to cover swiftly firing rapidly into the as they viewed them invaders to their home. The Red Fang moved forward not worrying about cover they acitvated the personal shields on their armor as they started to fire into their enemy rapidly the large Dar'yaim cannons firing recklessly into the middle of the enemies ranks as the large cragmaloids roared their displeasure at the enemies resistance.

A chorus of status reports echoed through the comm unit in Olivia's helmet. Ships and fleets entering and leaving the system, commanders declaring themselves for or against the Dominion. Status reports and sensor data from Wayland, Concord Dawn, and Yavin... Olivia was made aware of it all as the CIC network of the Meshla'ade be'te Ne'tra Sho'cye worked overtime to stay abreast of the activity in the sector. The most interesting though, was the actions of the pair of Star Destroyers that had earned her attention. "Are they running, or are they moving to reinforce another flotilla?" Olivia asked as she continued towards the belly of the ship at a brisk pace. "No other formations in their path... Looks like they're running, mam."

"Let them run then, adjust speed and heading to put us in their former orbit over Keldabe, belly towards the city. You have may initiate insertion operations as soon as you have a clear reading on the Aruetii forces." Olivia said, issuing orders as she stepped onto one of the ship's many drop pod loading bays. "Understood, mam. We'll keep you informed." The bridge officers reported. Olivia simply clicked the acknowledgment indicator and stepped onto the nearest drop pod. A ACS standard variant.

Minutes ticked by in silence while Olivia and the other seven Marines sat and waited for orders. At last, the same officer's voice chimed up in her ear. "We're in position mam. It looks like the Aruetii have Keldabe besieged at three points, with infantry fighting inside the city itself. Unknown forces are engaging the Aruetii on the southern, eastern, and western side of the city.... It looks like the Aruetii on the eastern front are in a state of collapse. Possibly falling back to their beachhead.". The officer reported.

"And where is their beachhead?" Olivia asked, already suspecting the answer.

"Just outside of the Larraq Homestead. Within a few miles distance." The officer reported.

"Deploy the bulk of our ground forces at the Homestead." Olivia ordered, deciding right away on the strategy for this particular battle. "We'll try to break their beachhead before they can rally and sweep the city once the surrounding area is clear. Initiate bombing runs on the stronger of the western or southern front and try to raise someone ground-side to coordinate orbital strikes." Olivia ordered before going silent and waiting for the inevitable kick that came from an active drop pod.

A green light finally came and the drop pod was propelled from the Type 3 Keldabe on magnetic rails before the pods own thrusters activated and it accelerated into the upper atmosphere of the planet. On her helmet's display, Olivia saw a swarm of small craft launching from her three Battleships. Two squadrons of Rekali Starfighters (bomber variant), six Gar'surhbir-class Dropships, two squadrons of Cabur MkII Starfighters, and four squadrons of Kandosii-class Starfighters all chased into the atmosphere after the first wave of 16 drop pods. "Alor." Came the voice of the bridge officers in her ear. "Someone's activating the planetary defense shields. Once the first wave is deployed, we won't be able to support the ground force."

"Understood. Prepare gatecrashers and shipkillers." she ordered before turning her full attention to the planet itself. It took only a few brief moments for the drop pods to hit dirt outside the protective shield of the Larraq Homestead, the place of her birth. Armored doors kicked off of the drop pods and almost 200 Clan Dem'adas Marines stepped foot on Mandalore, Alor Dem'adas included. While her Marines secured the area, Olivia looked up and watched as the swarm of Starfighters escorted the six dropships to Olivia's position. The ships had barely lowered their ramps before a half squadron of Myrkava Assault Tanks rolled out of each. 36 in total, each fully loaded with more Marines. From within the Homestead itself, two dozen vod riding Bes'uliik wardroids emerged and took up ranks next to Olivia's small army. As soon as the dropships had touched dirt, the 76 Starfighters circled twice overhead before breaking off and making for Keldabe city.

"Clan Dem'adas is ground-side." Olivia said over an older Mandalorian Clans line, using older encryption methods.

"All forces in the vicinity of Keldabe city, give me a status report."

Cairyn nodded along as if he understood the politics of everything. He was about to speak again once Jack finished, mouth already open and just a syllable away from another barrage of questions as they hit the surface. His tiny form didn't stand a chance, him flying out of his seat and onto the floor. Scrambling to his feet and out of the pod, he was right on Jack's heels, the questions starting again.

"So I get to play with them, right? No one's gonna stop me if I collect their eyes? Remove their spleen? I've always wanted to try my hand at disect-oh, wait, that'd mean I'd get left behind? Blast it, that's no fun." Speaking of eyes, his own took several moments adjusting to the sudden light, the sun reflecting on his glasses.

Gear & Action
For gear, please refer to Jack Anderson's previous post and assume that Cairyn will have the troop's gear either on his person or ride, in addition to a lightsaber.
Action wise, Cairyn will act mostly on his own/in support of Jack's squad of 10, as letting the child be in charge of anyone would be silly.

Anti-Air encampments, as small in number as they were, lit up the sky with flak. Ground turrets and shoulder missile launchers fired at the assaulting enemies.

The Death Watch was digging in. They were outnumbered against the strike team that had attacked but they were using their 'fortress' well.

They had no other choice. Jaig knew sooner or later the aruetii would find this place and attack. A shield in orbit entrapped them, there was no way they would leave it active.

And there was no way Jaig would leave the aruetii from taking over.

Warriors clashed with warriors. Those that were more experienced immediately figured out who the soldiers were. Primeval dogs. An old enemy that seemed to be mustering strength once again.

When the reports came of Primeval soldiers fighting, Jaig wondered if the cult had been paid or was this something entirely else? He did not dwell much on it, though.

There were invaders to be killed.

As ships rained hellfire from the sky, the ground shook as a few careless flyers were sent hurdling into the ground. Rockets and flak made the sky glow bright with destructive passion, the kind of which only the patriotic and chauvinistic could press; yet despite the return fire there was still far too many in the stealth orientated swarm to stop them outright. A focus was found on the anti air establishments first, while those who could spare took careful strafing runs on the various areas that protected the main entrance.

At the same time, the various groups of speeders made their pincer movement known as their seemingly divided strike came to a spearpoint on either side. Those stragglers that were outside the base were struck down by lances, while those at the gates were bombarded by high speed strafes; various blasters firing what they could at the groups before reorienting for another pass.

The Slave however, took the direct approach. He rushed down the middle, carefully hiding his trail with the force while maintaining the cloaking of his armor. The distance between him and the front gate was minimal, but to ensure his success he brought the speed of his ride into as far as it could; offering a violent screech of its ion engines into the vicinity. Those around weren’t likely to distinguish it from the others, betrayed by the environment of war that surrounded each of them.

"Air strikes.. I kriffing hate air strikes." Meraal said to himself as he took off his helmet. Meraal leaned up against one of the bunker's walls as he looked around in his utility belt. Whoever was throwing plasma their way meant business, he could feel the impact of air strikes reverberating through the building's steel from where he was standing in the control room.

As Meraal continued rummaging through his utility belt he examined his fellow compatriots with his peripheral vision. None of the helmeted men or women were from his clan, but he couldn't help but to feel a certain bond between them. Even though the Mandalorians, Meraal included, were all holed up in some dusty facility that was being bombed to Mustafar and back, the building was filled with a certain spirit which Meraal could barely taste in the force.

Speaking of spirits, Meraal finally found the flask of Vasarian brandy he kept on his belt at all times. Meraal detached the small flask and promptly drained its contents. While it wasn't enough to get him drunk, it did help calm his mind and dull him to the emotional chaos whispering to him in the force around him. If only my old masters could see me now. Meraal put back on his helmet, and slammed a fresh energy cartridge into his rifle.

He nodded at Mesh as she informed Lok that his step-nephew was under the care of a Munin clanswoman. He didn't need any complications in their defenses and performance; especially not someone part of his family.

"Let's roll out, fethers," the Munin said in the comms, not really meaning to insult those on the comms as it was his way of speaking to most people. Save for Jaig. The Vizsla wouldn't tolerate that kind of behavior directed to him.

The outlaw would hop on his swoop bike and started heading for the expected area of the drop pods. Other warriors did the same and follow him, and some stayed behind as the keepers and guardians of their headquarters.

"Coordinates sending, Amaya," Lok said to the Verd and gave his regional coordinates through his helmet.

Death Watch and Mando'ade defenders of Concord Dawn alike moved out from the Munin Stronghold in the Northern Hemisphere, riding fast across the dusty plains on their swoop bikes with razor sharp determination, ready to put down any aruetiise that wanted to take their planet away from them. As the enemy filled pods filtered their way down through the lower atmosphere, the Mando units would spread out taking different landing zones of the Dominion troops.

[ Seems like they're scattering, Verd. Do the same with your units as well. ]

[ Roger that, Lok... Got your six, ner vod'ika, ] Mesh keyed back to her stepbrother over the comlink in the petite blonde's helmet as she rode like a wingman of sorts to his right.

Mesh'la's last combat assignment was at the Battle of Kashyyyk where the Mandalorian Clans following Mand'alor Ra Vizsla's rallying call liberated the Wookiee planet from the Galactic Republic, essentially ending the faction's hold on the galaxy. The young medic had served with the Mandalorian Medical Corps and aided on the medevacs sent to the front line. Ever since then it had been family life, raising her son, and surviving the destruction of Manda'yaim. It had all hardened Mesh as her ex-husband would surely attest to that.

As they followed one of the pods down to ground, the red and black armored Mando readied the dual blasters on the front of her Flare-S swoop, then just as the first of the occupants stepped out of the troop carrier she let off a rapid succession volley at them coming in fast and furious.

Okay... Maybe Lok had her six.

"Acknowledged, Munin." Amaya confirmed and moved along the Ngāti Toa to issue the order. "All Auli'i scatter drop pattern Beskar, Aure, Beskar-Four." The sounds of the hybrid drop/gunships moving past the Kirehe vessel were heard. And above the Mandalorians their vod would deploy, from drop pods and speeder bikes as the ramps opened and the gunfire began. The engineer and her two other heavy frigates moved into the lower atmosphere with their guns at the ready. "Relaying up to date topography and enemy locations, vod." From there at least she could (when not engaging the enemy) provide up to date information, a moving satellite as you will. The Ngāti Toa soared through the skies of Concord Dawn and could be easily seen from the Munin Homestead or even the Hospital, as it lowered just a little bit more, taking to the clouds like a fish to water.

The large fleet of the enemy was unaware of the Sovereignty's slow approach, too busy with the offensive of [member="Rach Vizla"] and [member="Ronan Vizsla"]. The collection of ships that had arrived in system and began firing were of such sudden voracity that the blockade was momentarily caught off guard. However, the trained crews of the vessels did not allow for that momentary failing to stop them. Just as quickly as the attackers had arrived, the defense was opening up with its beginning barrage. Missiles flew alongside the bright fire of turbolasers. If it had been a ground battle the sound would have been deafening, but in space the only proof that there was even a fight was the light show.

The missiles fell quickly, none could break through the disruption system. In preparation the fleet launched its fighters, many smaller ships began moving out to engage the attackers, while some hung back. A number of the flak cannons disabled a Crusader, which began to slowly limp away out of the battle. After the initial barrage, the front line began rapidly firing in the general direction of the enemy fleet. The main group attempted to target the Frigates with concentrated turbolaser fire.

--------------

The Sovereignty began speeding up as the momentum began carrying the vessel ever faster towards its destination. Ultimatum knew that this opportunity was too great to waste waiting for a response from potential allies. The fleet would notice his ship eventually, he just hoped that it would be later rather than sooner. The few of his ships that had arrived slowly moved towards the blockade. The A'den waited to release their fighters, holding fire until they could detect weaknesses in the defending ship's shields. They were awaiting the inevitable shield shifting that would open up the defending ships to a barrage.

Aden followed behind the pair. He was suddenly feeling like a third wheel knowing he'd missed quite a bit having been gone. He cursed under his breath for missing out and wondered what else he'd missed in the two years. The sniper just quietly followed behind as the group left to advance against the enemy.

His eyes were keen, looking for a place to perch. Aden knew his best efforts would be stationary. From a bike he could only do so much, but the sharpshooter could pick off the opposition easily if he could just find the right place to hide. Strider had trained him well, and unlike many warriors, Aden had exceptionally steady hands. It was a shame Mesh'la hadn't allowed him into her bed just yet as his hands were less likely to fumble around as they had when they first crossed that line.

Aden fired a volley at a crew of oncoming troops. He sighed as Mesh'la sped ahead into the fray. SHE was the medic. If she got hurt then there was no one to look after them. It was reckless, but Aden had already gotten the look of death when he mentioned the women who were protecting the children. The way he had said it made it seem to be as though he saw them as inferior which was not the case.

["If any of you see a good perch let me know. I'm not as good to you on this bike as I am stationary."]

Flak rocked the skies around the facility as their anti-air battled against the fighters overhead. Gharis sat silent and still with his rifle perched out over a duracrete defensive emplacement in front of the bunker. Several stragglers from outside the facilities walls had fallen back, jumping over the wall with their jetpacks. They lined up shoulder to shoulder with Gharis, their helmets all trained on the gate that lead into the compound.

"Some of them have cloaking devices." The Mando to his left told him. "They're going to try to charge us with their lance bikes."

"Overcharge your blasters if you can. We need to punch through those bikes." He called out on comms. "If they get to us, and your blaster overheats, go at them with a vibroknife or whatever you have. Those of you with jetpacks, use the height to your advantage."

"Win today, and Mandalore will be ours again."

The Sovereignty crawled through space, meter by meter. Until it passed the first line of defense, Ultimatum was quite satisfied to have defeated the first line of defense. However his joy was short lived as a barrage of fire from the inner ring of ships struck the forward shields. The energy harmlessly dissipated over the shield, however it was not the fire itself that Ultimatum had feared. It was the revealing of his presence. Without a second wasted he commanded, "Tell our ships to begin firing on the first line. Launch all fighters tell them to keep their ships off our pods and shuttles. If the opportunity arises, fire on the inner defenses. Hold from launching the pods and shuttles just a few more moments."

The commander nodded before beginning to relay the messages to the allied ships towards the edge of the system. Ultimatum then communicated with 334, "You will be launching soon. At the moment you will have a few minutes in space and then land in the enemy vessel. It will be a bumpy ride, our fighters will escort and defend against enemy ships as best as possible." Then he looked from the comm and spoke to himself far too quietly to be heard, "Forgive me, should you not make it."

The Sovereignty turned off its stealth fields and boosted the power of its shields as the large vessel leaped forward, all power that had been held from the propulsion suddenly surged through the engines. To the ordinary soldier it would seem to be a self-destructive run, a headlong rush to collide with the command vessel. Ultimatum was keenly aware of the massive amount of energy blasting against shields and in some places, scoring the hull weakly. The droid wished that he had more stealth craft to have with him here. He was defenseless at the moment with his only definite allies too far away to come to his aid should he need it. And he would definitely need help as long as he remained in the cross fire of two lines of enemy ships.

As the fighters aboard the Sovereignty began flying out to clear a path to the command vessel, Ultimatum sent the command to launch all boarding craft. Wishing 334 good luck silently the droid then turned his attention to organizing his ships. As the lesser vessels at the edge of the system closed and began firing, more of his fleet began arriving, two more A'den and the promise of another Tome'tayl. When they arrived, that would be all the help that Ultimatum was sure he could muster at the moment.

Objective: Steal The Battleship
15 squads :
10 x Cyclops Battle Droid per squad (random assortment of given weapons)

2 x Scorpion Drones per squad

WD-334 stopped it's shield-bashing when the words it wanted to hear, no needed to hear, to satisfy itself came from @Ultimatum. "This unit understands" were it's only words as it waited for the launch to proceed. And then, it happened. A sudden jump across the pod, knocking WD about in the cables that held it in place. The Cyclops droids seemed to have been doing well, clamped tightly against their seats. The Scorpion Drones had cables like WD, however they seemed to be having a tougher time, wobbling around much more than the colossal war droid. Ultimatum had been correct, the ride was incredibly bumpy. But as long as WD could get a fight on, it would go through this rather bumpy ride.

Impact upon impact hit around the pod from fire coming from many ships. WD could not hear any fighters nearby through the metal walls of the pod, and only hoped that Ultimatum had kept their word with fighters. Or this would be one short trip. But he had, and soon the war droid's pod slowed as thrusters slowed the boarding craft's approach once they neared the ship. WD immediately snapped it's cables once the connection was made, then immediately sent word to Ultimatum through a transmitter on the pod, thanks to one of the Cyclops droids activating it while the two Cyclops droids at the front began cutting through. "Boarding sequence begun. Objective two: Capture the hangar, soon to be in action."

As the transmission reached Ultimatum the droid spoke to himself again, "For what it is worth, may the Force be with us." He then had a confirmation signal returned before his attention switched to commanding his forces. The enemy ships were beginning to focus their fire on the intruder ship. Their fighters swarmed in masses, shooting first at the Sovereignty and then the fighters that were flying towards their command ship. The Sovereignty's weapons remained powered down, the energy that would have been used by them sent to the shields and engines in order to keep it alive and pull it out of the formation.

The enemy ships held formation, though some of the first line began to fall behind their brethren as their shields collapsed. The A'den moved before the Tome'tayl, acting as shields for the ships in order that they may begin barrages with relatively safety. Their first target was the line of Hammerheads in order to crumble the wall defending against the Sovereinty's escape. They started with the middle, planning on demolishing it from the center and forcing a gap that would break apart the defense.

It seemed however that the enemy ships were well commanded, for they maintained their positions, allowing their shields to take the brunt of the damage and shutting off their engines to increase the shield strength. The center block focused on the Sovereignty while the line halved their fire to both the interloper and the advancing force. Only a few of the fighters were even aware that boarding craft had been sent, the Awe fighters were doing well destroying the few fighters that were moving towards the craft. As soon as the boarding craft stuck to the command vessel they began focusing more on the fighters themselves while maintaining a defensive position near the hull of the command vessel.
