The Coronation of Baroness Magrath

He tugged his eyebrows together and frowned. "I'm very aware of the presence of dark siders." he said, looking over his shoulder at Ana, momentarily. "Yes, Anastasia is my master." he said proudly. "I'm still in training, you see."
He glanced at the Baroness and then back at Ray. "Like I said, it is none of your business, you are not permitted to know." he said calmly and quietly. He didn't trust this man and he wasn't going to until he knew where his loyalties lay. He thought it odd so be in full armour unless he was here for a reason.... "State your business." he narrowed his eyes.

Ivy strode confidently in the building as the air of caution swept over her, she covertly moved her eyes around the place sweeping it for anything of interest and then continued to subtly make her way to the party scene.

She wore a fine shimmer silk dress, with matching heels and a more cleanly appearance, she wasn't use to this barbie doll look and definitely didn't feel comfortable in it, yet she kept that side of her and her own intentions locked away and completely inaccessible, or did she?

Her dress was an off white that in direct light would give off a faint pink hue, it looked ridiculous but its the only dern thing they had in stock so she reluctantly bought it to try and appear formal. Besides, she was here for the party, and not the looks.
Weird really since this is literally the very first formal gathering she had ever attended yet she wasn't at all defenseless.

And thats when she felt it, a faint aura.. another padawan somewhere, she smirked as she continued to walk to the crowd and intermix with them all, her own darkside taint would more than likely throw any sith off, unless they knew what to look for and somehow found her very faint lightside aura.

(OOC sorta tired from getting little to no sleep last night, feel free to let me know if I had missed anything here.)

It was no secret that Josh DragonsFlame was a Jedi Master. I mean, sure, he was here due to his royal links, but a simple look at his name would have said "Former Grandmaster, Jedi Master" right under some kind of subtitle. Still, that didn't stop his gaze from going toward [member="Ray Valerio"] who was trying to extract information out of [member="Fletcher Lorcan"]. Now, that wasn't fair, using the Paddys. They didn't know any better. Josh would look back at [member="Anastasia Rade"] with an expression that told of worry, and to calm her student before he caused serious problems. Meanwhile, he would decide to allow himself to use telepathy, firing a message right into the mind of Fletcher.

"Hey, kiddo, we're in the middle of a party filled with Sith, and you're identifying yourself and others as Jedi to a possible mercenary to the Sith here. I told you to be careful!" sounded in the kid's head.

He was mentally facepalming at this point.

Ray smirked this kid was a wealth of information, just waiting to be dug into. A padawan named Fletcher accompanied with his master, Anastasia. He had already identified two Jedi in moments of starting up the conversation. It was strange that he hadn't mentioned the other man, however. Maybe he was truly just a random event goer? No it was too convienent, the apprentice just wasn't as well informed on other Jedi as he should have been.

A tug of annoyance pulled at Ray as the boy commanded him to state his business. He was a proud warrior, he wasn't going to take orders from some brat who had to use his magic to win in combat. Still, Ray bit his tongue, no good would come from starting conflicts with the Jedi here. Of course he could eliminate them both, not to mention the sith present would surely leap at the opportunity to fight Jedi.

Ray eyed the other boy wearily and shrugged "Mandalorian business. None of yours." He replied with a smirk. If the Jedi wouldn't reveal their intentions, he would be a fool to reveal his own.

[member="Fletcher Lorcan"]

After hearing [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] speak in his mind. He almost turned to face the Jedi master but forced himself not to so it wouldn't be obvious that they were communicating. He acknowledged the message but didn't say anything back. Rather letting him know he understood through the means of his actions.

"I know you're only using me for information and I'm not going to give you any more." he said stubbornly, standing up tall to the man and folding his arms. He took it very personally when he felt people were taking advantage of him and wasn't afraid to stand up to them. He looked disapprovingly at [member="Ray Valerio"]

Ray held a surprised expression beneath his helmet. The Jedi had been so easily used for information before, suddenly his loose lips had sealed. He had picked up on Rays intentions and was determined to prevent them. It was no concern, he already had the names of two Jedi and knew of the third one even if he didn't have a name. This alone was valuable information that could be traded to the sith, but why stop here.

Ray shook his head slowly, "Any information you may have given me, I could have easily attained otherwise. I have no desire to use and manipulate you, I'm not a Jedi or a sith." He said with a smirk. "Of course there is a bit of information that the Jedi might be able to provide me. That's probably something that your master would know more about, though. It's not like they give students important information, perhaps I should find a real Jedi to speak to." He said sounding a bit insulting towards the other boy, but playing it off as a casual conversation.

Horns quickly sounded, the coronation was to be soon, and the Baroness closed her eyes as she remained indoors. Her circle of Guardsmen around her, keeping anyone from even approaching their mistress as she closed and opened her hands. Steeling herself for the moment, she was about to step outside, to reveal herself as she ran a hand along the dark purple gown before nodding to herself. Hearing the purring she smiled softly, her hand running along the back of the Nexu as it stood up, its tail swaying as it seemed eager to push forward. Nodding to herself once more she looked to the guards, their faces masked by their helmets, though she knew each and every face beneath those masks.
"It's time."
She spoke before she turned towards the draped curtains that slowly danced upon a soft breeze. As she approached her Nexu stepped out first, rustling the drapes before it jumped up onto the balcony railing, its nimble and slender form moving without a problem as it glared down at the crowed. It was a sign of strength, the beast showing off its own, while also showing off for its mistress. With a soft giggle being held back she watched as the Nexu jumped down before circling around the throne that sat out on the balcony.
A slender hand pushed the drapes to the side before she stepped out into the light. Her fiery red hair dancing on the soft breeze as people in the crowd began to cheer. As she stepped towards the balcony she looked out over the packed courtyard and the large path beyond as thousands of citizens stood waiting. Her golden-yellow hues danced across the large mob of people, watching and following as she smiled softly. Her hands ran along the balcony railing as she looked towards the guards, the circle that had accompanied her showed their own force when they stepped out behind her before taking their positions along the balcony, their backs against the wall.
Two large claws came up to her side, the Nexu pulling itself up slightly so its head could look over the railing without blocking its sight. The Baroness did not hesitate as her hand ran along the beasts back, brushing down the quills that stood up right from the beast being excited. Her small smile pulled into a slight smirk as she looked down at the people before she stepped back. Taking her seat in the throne, an elderly man stepped forward, holding a crown in his hands before approaching her.
With a soft bow of her head, the crown was placed upon her brow, one that would not be more troubled than it had been before. Leaning back, her hands ran along the arm rests of the chair as she sat quietly. She could feel those that were strong in the force around her, Sith and Jedi alike. She knew that there were those there to support her, and others there to watch her, spy on the proceedings and find out if the Avidonian Dominion was going to be a threat that needed to be nipped in the bud or not. With a soft smirk on her lips she listened as the elderly man addressed the gathered crowd.
"Now crowned, the former Baroness. I present to you the Autarch of the Avidonian Dominion, the Duchess Raulyn Hawkshaw Magrath. May she reign with strength and judge with compassion."
A clamorous applause and cheer came from many of the people as she slowly rose, stepping forward and nodding her head as the elderly man bowed before stepping away from the newly crowned Duchess. Her golden-yellow hues moving over the crowd as she smiled softly.

As the horns blared and called out through the room, Ray tore his attention from the young Jedi padawan. He looked up towards a large balcony that was placed boldly over the crowd. Shortly after the horns stopped their noise, a creature appeared on the railing. The crowd was silent except for the whispers and murmurs travelling the room. What was this beast doing on the rail? A moment later a small feminine hand slid between the curtains and began to part them. The drapes swung open and the baroness appeared.

His eyes locked onto the baroness and he smirked. The way he saw it there were two scenarios that could befall himself and her. The preferable option being that she became a wealthy employer of his. The second being that she was marked by another wealthy employer and Ray was sent to collect. Either way he saw a prosperous relationship ahead of them.

The crowd began to cheer and applaud as the woman stood above them in her violet dress, her golden eyes scanning the crowd below. The fiery hair that sat atop her head blew gently as she seated herself in the thrown. An elderly man spoke a few words as he placed a crown on her head. The crowd went wild and Ray even clapped his hands slowly a few times.

He stared at [member="Ray Valerio"], insulted. "Excuse me? I don't know who you think you are or what you think you're doing but insulting Jedi isn't going to get you anywhere now, is it?" he said, his voice patronising. He scoffed and shook his head. "I don't know what you want but my master isn't going to trust you." he rolled his eyes and looked around to make sure no one was looking.

He paused at Ray's words. "A real Jedi?" he repeated angrily, quickly reaching for his lightsaber at his belt.

Ray smirked as his words gripped at the boys reserves. It was quite entertaining watching him fight for some sense of dignity. The young Jedi was clearly growing more and more agitated with each passing moment. He had already gained far more than he had planned to when he arrived, anything else he could pull from this event was just icing. He thought to himself briefly at the boys words. It was probably true that his master would be harder to break, but then again he wouldn't pick at he like he did Fletcher.

His eyes followed the Jedi's hand as it moved towards his weapon, things were going to get exciting it seemed. He placed a hand on a blaster pistol that rested at his hip and gripped it, not yet raising the weapon. "Yes a /real/ Jedi. Not some kid that dreams of becoming one. You might make a better slave than a Jedi, though with your lack of talent you'd probably fail there as well." He taunted, if the Jedi drew his weapon then Ray would be able to do the same without the blame falling to himself.

"Care to see a real warrior in action?" He asked in an insulting tone.

[member="Fletcher Lorcan"]

He watched Ray's every movements and as usual, acted without thinking. He didn't think of the consequences he would face afterwards when he pulled out his lightsaber, holding it out, close to him. Even by doing so was a threat, but he didn't care. He was tired of being used and manipulated. He always dealt with consequences after he had done the actions, which he had been told many times, was a bad thing. "Everyone has to start someone. I'm not dreaming of becoming one. I will be one, I am one." he said with finality. "A slave? Thanks for that suggestion but that's my last career option."

He glared at Ray, seeing him as a potential enemy. He assumed the Mandalorian had been against him the whole time and Fletcher wanted to show he couldn't be messed with easily and have people get away with it. Although he wasn't the most experienced battler, he had a single scar on his face from a previous battle. He didn't have time to regret what he had done, before he knew it, it was too late.

"Gladly." he said finally.

[member="Ray Valerio"]

In an instant things went from a friendly gathering for celebration to a conflict that had potential to cause immense damage. The way he saw it he had won already, he would easily defeat the Jedi, of course, but on the chance that he failed the Jedi would likely be apprehended by the sith that stalked the area. The Jedi had drawn his blade and had no chance of concealing what he was at this point. If they somehow managed to escape then he would no doubt be punished by the Jedi order.

Thoughts of what could happen were tossed out of his mind as the blade was pointed towards him. His pride would never let him back down from such a direct challenge. "I've beaten more skilled Jedi than you when I was a new warrior." He taunted as his jet pack spat out flames and launched him backwards away from the other young man.

As he gained a bit of distance he pulled out two small blaster pistols and quickly let off several shots. His aim wasn't off and the innocent bystanders would be safe from the direct blasts, however if [member="Fletcher Lorcan"] deflected the blasts he would be responsible for where they travelled next. This was a mistake that the young Jedi might not be so fortunate as to learn from.

"Stop"

The sound reverbrated through the boy's head. It was the Jedi Master, warning him again.

"A Jedi does not feel or use his anger. The man is playing you like a fool, making you angry so you'll cause a scene and get kicked out, and hoping to get information from you. Stop this nonsense, right now"

It was a scold, but a damn well good one, and it was needed right now. The Padawan needed to be stopped before he got hurt....

But it was too late.

While the child had drawn his lightsaber, he had not ignited it, only held it threateningly. There was still time to salvage this. As the Mandalorian would ignite his jetpack and fire off shots, the Jedi Master would act, grabbing the lad and using his own back, his own body, as a shield, absorbing the shots. The Jedi Master let out a grunt in pain as each seared his back painfully.

But to anyone looking, it would seem as though the Mandalorian had attacked the child, as he had never ignited his lightsaber... And the young man had shielded him.

Josh would fall to one knee, staring down at the ground. Force sakes, that hurt..... But flesh wounds could be healed. The life of another could not be.

[member="Fletcher Lorcan"]
[member="Ray Valerio"]

Horrified, he stood besides Josh. "Master! I- I..." not sure what to say to the man. "Can you walk? You have to get out of here.." he said quietly as he dropped his lightsaber to the floor and knelt besides the man.

Suddenly feeling overwhelming guilt, he looked extremely worried. He knew this was his fault and he would get the blame. He glared at Ray, knowing this was somewhat his fault too. "We need to go." he warned the master as he tried to support him.

[member="Ray Valerio"] [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

The lightsaber didn't leave the boy's hand. Somehow, it went right back under his robes. Nobody ever saw it, nobody could see it out, and the boy wasn't to blame... It came at a price, of course, but what was true was that the Padawan wasn't harmed, in any way, shape or form. Josh would look at the boy, obviously in a lot of pain, but he would give him a small cheeky smile, as well as one toward his Master. He'd been subtle with the Force, but it may have just saved this kid's skin...

The Jedi Master would start to get to his feet after... Painfully, obviously struggling to get back up. But he was a tough son of a schutta... He would be able to do it. It was times like this he wished he had worn his Magnus Armor under this attire... But it wasn't suitable. It had been a long time since a blaster bolt had hurt him, much less two.

Ray looked a bit surprised as the man leapt in front of the blaster fire and took the attack for Fletcher. It definitely hadn't been what he expected, but it did make his belief that the man was also a Jedi more concrete. Now he knew of three Jedi for sure and they all stood before him in a sea of sith and nobles. Only one problem remained, he had just fired his weapons off and would have some serious explaining to do.

Unwilling to risk losing anyone here as potential clients, he quickly formulated a plan. The small spheres that released the fire from his jet pack rotated and quickly moved him forward. He landed in front of the two male Jedi and stood over them, if he was going to keep himself from being punished and dealing with consequences, someone else would have to.

"Sorry, Jedi, but I don't think I can let you leave so easily. You see I don't believe you are welcomed amongst some of the other guests here." He said with a smirk behind his helmet. If he exposed them for what they were he might dodge the consequences and even come out with the favor of those who oppose Jedi.

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]. [member="Fletcher Lorcan"]

He smiled slightly at Josh, though behind his smile, guilt was racking him. "I never meant for this to happen." he said, looking up at the man as he spoke. Momentarily forgetting Ray, he turned back to the Mandalorian with a placid expression. "I don't know what you want but if you expose us, you'll have one hell of a price to pay." he said in attempt to threaten the man.

He stood before Ray, unafaid. "You need to learn where your loyalties lie."

[member="Ray Valerio"] [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

She had seen enough. Calling on the Force, she invaded the mind of [member="Ray Valerio"] and used her ability Mind Shard to infect both his mind and body with agonizing pain. The poor sod was lucky she didn't outright kill him on the spot. But a death would only breed more violence. The Fenrir Guard encircled the man and dragged him away from the other guests.
"If he tries to resist or reenter the building...kill him," she said into her wrist com link.
The guests barely gave a second glance to the man as he was dragged out. Then one of the Fenrir Guardsmen moved to the Jedi asking them if they needed a medical droid. Darth Venefica, hidden from the view everyone, let out a small chuckle.

There is to be no violence at the Coronation

Ray smirked at the young Jedi and shook his head slowly, "I know where my loyalties lie, kid. Its not with y-" his words choked off and he gasped for breath several times as an unbearable pain began to creep into his mind and spread through out his body. The pain started as a dull ache but quickly transformed into a stabbing pain. In an instant it changed again and his entire body was on fire! Each individual cell was engulfed in flame and he felt every minor ounce of pain.

His breathing grew harder as he tried to fight the pain, he was a proud Mandalorian warrior, no Jedi mind trick would crush him so easily. This was just in his head, a trick cast by the Jedi, probably not the kid it was more likely the older man. He gritted his teeth as he teetered back and forth fighting the pain.

Then it was too much, he fell to his knees and placed his hands on the ground, it wouldn't stop the pain was so intense and it only grew! The pain vanished as guards grabbed hold of Ray and drug him out of the building, limp and practically lifeless. They threw him outside where he collapsed on the ground, trying to catch his breath.

After a moment he was able to lift himself to his feet and glared back at the entrance. This was no longer about that brat and gaining information. A warrior wasn't insulted and tossed aside, no he would regain entrance and he would reclaim the pride that had been burnt from his body. Though he had to admit that it was a bit impressive that man had been able to control those guards while causing such agonizing pain to Ray.

After awhile, Ray appeared at the door once again. He was no longer recognizable by his armor, he had stowed it away inside and was dressed in a fine suit that marked him as a noble. He offered the guard his invitation and quickly made his way inside. He scanned the area for the Jedi but to no avail. He couldn't just leave, he'd simply mingle until he could locatenhis targets.

Ana could only sigh and shake her as she watched the display between her Padawan and the Mandalorian. She had hoped for a nice party where she could dance around a bit and drink fancy wine but it seemed as if it was just not to be.

It seemed that a lesson about patients and controlling ones anger was in order for Fletcher once they got back to the Temple she would have a talk with him or perhaps it was time for a mission to teach him a few things.

What didn't help was that Ray was Vode and causing a mess along with her Padawan. If it wasn't for Joshua they could have a real mess on their hands.

As soon as he knelt down Ana was at his side. "I can help you, I'm a healer." She spoke to him via the force before looking to Fletcher.

"You can't pick fights like that but your lucky. Can we all just start having a good time now? Drinks? Is your leg ok sir?"

Ana felt like Flecher's mother for the moment which she kind of was. She was his teacher and this was a good lesson.
