The Coronation of Baroness Magrath

Ray leaned against a wall with a drink in his hand, he sloshed the alcohol around for a moment before taking a sip. When he wasn't geared up and looking for conflict it seemed he quite enjoyed himself. He had to shoo off a few young women who were drawn to a handsome and mysterious noble, dainty flowers weren't exactly his thing.

He drank from his glass again as a giggling couple of girls approached him. "Ah, ladies, how about I fetch us drinks?" He asked in a charming tone. They giggled and blushed in agreement as he made his way to the bar. "Jeez, these women are relentless when they're hunting for a suitor." He muttered once he was out of ear shot.

After a few words and the payment of several credits, Ray was awarded another glass filled with some liquid that would likely impare his judgement. At this point he was enjoying the festivities enough to drop his vendetta against the Jedi... For the time being. Still he scanned the crowd, stuck up noble men who seemed like they wanted to spit on him, and dainty young women in frilly dresses, just hoping that he would make an advancement on them. He knew there were sith and probably more Jedi around, but he couldn't place a single one. Everyone looked so similar in their suits and dresses. He glanced down at himself and smirked at his own suit. "Guess I fit right in..." He muttered before taking a gulp from his glass.

Ivy was not too far from the comotion that had displayed outward like a bad concerto in a drunken crowd of nerf-herders, her mind focused as she glared when she seen a man fitting the description of someone she once knew as another took a fall and watched silently as she weighed the situation.

Remembering a time when things were more simpler in terms of lightsiders doing more for the galaxy, and the sith still keeping to themselves Ivy smirked at the man that took the fall and calmly made her way to him, she was calmly and skillfully weaving her way through the crowd while making her way to someone she did recognize through the eyes of another.

Moments later she arrived to his side and knelt beside him and covertly looked at him, she then surveyed the area and looked directly at a padawan with the appearance of the very order another whom now shares her life via biological engineering was tossed out of and for a moment sheer darkside tainted her outer body with serious anger, until she calmed her mind and it dissipated.

Looking to the jedi master she smirked Long time no see Dragonsflame she said quietly so the only ones who could hear was them and whomever was using the force to enhance their own senses. She knew he wouldn't recognize her at all.

The next few events had been like a blur to Josh in his incredible amount of pain. As [member="Ray Valerio"] would land in front of them to cause them more trouble, he would surprise him by finally standing on his own two feet, despite the Padawan and his Master trying to tend to him. Gasps emitted from the guests in the hall as, while it was obvious he was in an incredible amount of pain and was struggling to keep himself like this, he was refusing to show weakness and stay down. His body shook, his insides roared with pain. But he didn't care. He stared into the eyes of the Mandalorian... Determined eyes of his own refusing to back down to his bully just yet.

But before he could do anything... Another had struck. From the shadows, [member="Darth Venefica"], who he would soon meet later, would work her magic, causing the Mandalorian [member="Ray Valerio"] to go into a spasm that would make Buzz Lightyear without his space helmet jealous. He would raise an eyebrow, who was.... Of course. The place was crawling with Sith. Only a Sith would be able to do this. This little spectacle only confirmed what he had suspected before. The One Sith had the run of the place here, and he was in enemy territory. Good... Let them come. Injured or not, he would fight. It was no secret that he was a Jedi Master. Unlike the others, his reputation preceded him. He could not disguise himself as anything other then a Jedi Master. Sure, he was a noble... And he was welcome here as one, but the name Josh DragonsFlame was identified with the Jedi. And that was the end of it. If he had lived most of his life as a noble, and a small portion a Jedi... He might be able to pass as someone else. But... A Jedi was who he was.

The guards would take the fool away, and he would have people crowding him, the child's Master, an offer for a medical droid, and even a woman who's presence he almost seemed to recognize, but their body was unknown to him, would all offer healing. His legs shook and wobbled, and he considered his options before smiling over at [member="Anastasia Rade"]. "Sweetheart, I can heal most of it, but if you want to help me take care of it fully, I would appreciate it" He would offer with a chuckle. Despite everything, he was still in good spirits, seemingly anyway. It mattered not who knew he was a Jedi now... It was bound to get out the moment he walked in. And he didn't care. Let them have their minor victory, while he would live to fight another day. The Jedi Master would clench his fists as his wounds began to stitch back together as if by magic... He would eye the Jedi Knight before him, allowing her to join in and help.

In Umbris Potestas Est
As Vanessa looked over the now-Dutchess Magrath, she smiled, waiting for the opportunity to speak with the new leader of Avidon. When she received the opportunity, perhaps she could finally accomplish what she had been here for. The anarchy of the situation seemed to have stabilized, and no radical Jedi had attempted to wantonly assail a darksider with a lightsaber.

It was good.

Golden-yellow hues watched as the entire situation was quickly resolved, though she had already noted whom was here to cause trouble. She had welcomed many with open arms, with hospitality and as a host she was incensed when she noticed how openly violent a guest had become to attack a young Padawan in the middle of a crowd. For the newly crowned Duchess it was enough proof that it was not the Jedi that she need worry about, as much as the Mandalorians. With the situation quickly over with though, a soft smirk pulled at her lips as she stood there silently for a moment, letting the crowd settle. If [member="Darth Venefica"] was watching closely, she would easily see the pleased look that graced her face as she nodded softly.
For many whom had just witnessed the event, they would have seen just how quickly the Fenrir Guard moved into action to prevent any such intrusions and problems. It was clear that they would not tolerate any action that would disrupt the event or any violence that could cause harm to their mistress. The Duchess brought her hands up, her fingers running along the railing. It was usually around this time that a speech was to be made, and it was going to be needed. Carefully scanning over the crowd she noted the few Jedi that had made their own presence known, her golden-yellow hues falling upon them for a moment.
The fact that this all had happened and was aimed towards a simple Padawan was almost enough cause to cause her to laugh. Holding herself back though, she remained poised, acting as if the violence had not happened. She was the image of a true leader, cool and collected even with danger near. Raising her hand slightly, she quieted the murmurs and whispers of the crowd.
"My friends. Let us not fight among ourselves. The Galaxy is in turmoil and we have better endeavors to place our energy upon than waste it fighting among ourselves. Yet there are those in the Galaxy that would seek to push this chaos further and allow it to fester and grow under their claims of peace. We can not allow this to continue. We must rise up and declare that Order is what is right for the Galaxy. Balance is what is right for the Force."
While the Duchess had her own alignments with the Sith, she knew that even the Force was out of balance. She had been carefully and closely watching a new cult that had begun to rise in the recent days since the disappearances, and its belief was beginning to catch and spread to others. She had even taken the time to attend such a meeting incognito and listen to the words spoken, each of which touched her mind and opened her eyes.
Yes she was a Dark Sider, and yet that knowledge was only beholden to a select few across the galaxy. The Duchess though felt that she should not be judged on that fact a lone, and yet it was more often than not the only thing that mattered to many whom viewed the Dark Side of the force as less than their own practices. Carefully moving her eyes over the crowd, she remained standing, her voice once more ringing out.
"Today as I accept this title, the title of Duchess, and rightfully reclaim the family title, I look towards the future. Not just my future, the future of my people and our place in the galaxy. Today I announce that the Avidon Oligarchy will be reorganized into the Avidonian Dominion. We shall rise up and bring Order to the Galaxy my friends. We must bring order, we must bring balance."
As she spoke her lips curved into a smile, watching as many people began to cheer and applaud, while few others watched on in stunned silence unsure what to say or do. The Duchess was clear that she was not going to let the Galaxy continue on its destructive course that it seemed bound.

Fletcher listened to his master. He respected her and agreed that they should try to have a good time, although he was still on edge from the previous events. No doubt everyone knew what they were by now. He stuck close to Ana's side as he always did. He felt protective of her although really, it was probably her that protected him.

He looked over his shoulder at Josh, watching him close the wounds. He watched in awe, hoping that one day he would become as great a master as the one before him. He was grateful that the stranger had protected him, though he wasn't quite sure what to say, how to thank him, if to thank him...

He turned his gaze back towards the Baroness, watching her every move as she began to speak. Both offended and shocked at her speech, he didn't show it. He watched without expression. As everyone else cheered, he said nothing, did nothing. Only looked back at his master for recognition. He thought about the influence people with power had on everyone else, how they could get what they want...
He slowly started to look troubled. Why was it that every dark sider had power and he was stuck, only to be known as a Padawan? He shook his head, refusing to think about it.

Queen Jaira shook her head in disappointment at [member="Ray Valerio"]. This only made her worry more about her son going against him. Queen Jaira then walked up to [member="Baroness Magrath"]. "Hello. My name is Queen Jaira of Taboon. I come to greet you and say congratulations." Queen Jaira said as she bowed.

As the speech ensued, Ray turned from the bar sipping at his drink. He watched in amusement as the new Duchess gave another speech, one surely directed towards his encounter with the jedi. Looking back at the situation it was more or less just an failed interrogation. He had originally set out to gain information, which he did, but once he was threatened there was nothing he could do but fight, he was a Mandalorian after all. Still, it would have been wiser to take the conflict outside.

As the crowd began to cheer at the end of her speech Ray couldn't help but smirk, Bring order to the galaxy? Spoken like a true sith. It was none of his business what the sith did, however. He cared little for their actions if he wasn't being paid to fight for or against them. As long as they steered their fleets away from mandalore there would be no reason for them to be crushed.

He couldn't help but frown at the light he was clearly being seen in though. In actuality, he hadnt even started the conflict yet he was the one punished and looked down upon... No, those thoughts were useless, he simply needed to enjoy the party. Still, it looked bad for business.

Feeling guilty for getting Josh hurt, he wandered away from his master. He gave her a quick look to ensure she knew that he was going to be fine. Though if she believed him or not was another thing. He made his way through the crowds, silently. Left to his own thoughts, he began to wonder. Was the Dark side actually that bad? Sure there were some really bad individuals that afflicted themselves with the dark side, like the siths, but was everyone there like that? He started to think their reputation was emphasised to the Jedi in order to reprimand them. He questioned his reasoning but still continued to think about it. Deep in thought, he wandered aimlessly through the crowd, not paying attention to anything around him.

[member="Ray Valerio"] [member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] [member="Anastasia Rade"]

As his eyes wandered the crowd aimlessly he counted the outfits to occupy his mind. Twenty three blue dresses, four yellow dresses, seventeen white dresses, three black dresses, and one brown robe. Ray was soon wandering away from the bar with two full glasses in his hands. In a few moments he was standing before the cloaked young man. He wasn't in his armor so this would be the first time they saw his face.

"Hey, you look... Tense." He said in a charming tone as he held out a glass to [member="Fletcher Lorcan"]. "Drink?" He offered with a smile.

He looked at Ray, staying silent for a moment before realising he'd been spoken to. He decided to keep his hostility to himself this time and became trusting once again. He kept his composure.

"I'm just... thinking." he said, well more like questioning morals. It was the speech that had gotten him thinking. He took the glass, expressionless. "Thanks." he said quietly before taking a mouthful of the drink.

[member="Ray Valerio"]

A smile spread on his face as he shrugged his shoulders "No problem." He said in a friendly manner. He looked The boy up and down quickly, he certainly wasn't acting like he wanted to pick a fight. Maybe it was the armor that put people on edge, nah couldn't be that.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked curiously. Ray suspected it was something about how dumb he had been in almost getting himself shot earlier. Still it could be some childish first world problem too. "I've been told I'm a pretty good listener." He added with a smile.

[member="Fletcher Lorcan"]

[member="Ray Valerio"] Had forgotten something about the Jedi. Them being able to sense auras. As the other Master helped him heal, he would look at Fletcher, who was chatting up a man. The man didn't look safe, and to his surprise, he could sense a familiar presence... It was the damn Mandalorian again. How did they let him in, armor or not? He was legit on a list, if he'd used his name to get back in he would have been booted.

"Its the Mandalorian again. Unarmored" would resound in the childs head telepathicly. A warning was best for now.

His trusting nature set in and he sighed, pulling the hood from his head and setting the glass down. His master had warned him not to talk to people he didn't know, but sometimes he just couldn't help it.

"Is the dark side really that bad? I know there are bad people who are selfish and do nothing for anyone but themselves. But surely some of their intentions must be good? I mean... did you hear the Baroness?" he asked, though the questions were for his own benefit as well. He was being naive, talking to a Mandalorian...

By the time he had heard the warning, it had been too late.

[member="Ray Valerio"]

Ray smiled as he listened to the young Jedi sympathize for the dark side. It seemed he wasn't as pure as other Jedi seemed to be. "Well between you and me, I get along quite well with a few dark side users. And the baroness is another example of the dark side not being just for the wrong purposes." He said as he smirked "But what do I know? I hardly know a thing about the force.". He said as he looked around the room quickly. He spotted the other Jedi looking in their direction and gave him a quick smile.

[member="Fletcher Lorcan"][member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

He acknowledged the master's warning and blatantly ignored it. He thought for a moment before speaking, in case he said anything that might penalise himself.

He spoke quietly, partly to not be heard but mostly because he was unsure. "So there are some good people in the dark side?" he asked, though he never planned on turning to the dark side.

"Maybe the Jedi have it wrong, maybe they shouldn't condemn every dark sider..." he said even quieter. His longing to be with his brother had made him question the morals of the Jedi.

[member="Ray Valerio"]

"It IS wrong to condemn every dark sider"

The Jedi Master would speak over to the boy and the Mandalorian with a small smile, allowing Fletcher's Master to heal the rest of his wounds while he regained his strength. "I knew a few darksiders before, they're not all.... Bad people, per say. Just do really bad things. Some of them hunger for power. Some of them hunger for domination. Some hunger for the pain of others and their own gain. But there are some with good intentions, but do the wrong things to do it. This is where the dark side comes in. To me, the Force is really just one entity, but the reason it is split into light and dark is because of the different ways it is used and how it is commonly used, and what it can do to people"

"Take it from me... Using the dark side is dangerous. I've tried, and I'm not ashamed to admit that. And I never want to touch it again" He would reveal. "But I've had friends who were darksiders. And it is there that I see their true nature, for some of them. But they have been corrupted by the constant use of it. That is why they are called dark siders... They've become corrupted by this power" He would explain. "Is it wrong to mercilessly condemn and kill every dark sider before trying to save them from what they are doing to themselves? Yes, it is, and that is why I left the Republic's Jedi. But most dark siders are bad people. And the ones who aren't...Well, they aren't always in control" He explained. "This is why the Jedi so strictly keep you away from it. I was foolish enough to touch it when I was your age. It... Didn't end well for me. It pains me even now" He would warn.

[member="Fletcher Lorcan"]

He looked at the master, uneasily. He listened to what the man was saying. He didn't interrupt.

"I don't see why we are limited to one side of the force. I know the dark side is bad and don't get me wrong, I've never had any intentions on joining it. But... I've known someone who excelled in the dark side far more than they did in the light side. Besides, the Jedi are strong and we are fighting against a force stronger than us." he said, a hint of arrogance in his voice.

"I would rather die before I joined the dark side, but I want to know the Jedis reasoning." he said in reassurance.

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

"I've just told you their reasoning, child" He would respond softly, calmly. "The thing is, the path of the dark side is quicker, yes.. Not more powerful. Just quicker. But the question is... Do you really want to trade who you are and what you stand for, for quicker power?" He would ask Fletcher. "The dark side is simply a shortcut to power, while the side of it that the Jedi use is slower, but in the end more efficient. As I said... The dark side, while quicker, corrupts you. And before long... You become something that you won't even recognize" He would speak, looking the child dead in the eyes. "I used to think that was foolish, until I dabbled myself, in my arrogance thinking I could handle both sides that early in my life, that early in my training without losing sight of who I was. And... I almost did. I hated what I had begun to become, and I was able to bring myself back before I got too far, with the help of the Jedi. The dark side will act as a bait that promises you the power to do what your goals are... But once you grab it, it will shape you into something that turns your goals into a nightmare as they change. A plan to protect people... Turns into a plan to massacre necessary people, in the name of protection. Your wishes, your goals, your dreams... They become warped and distorted"

"This is why the Jedi don't use it, Padawan. They know that while the quote on quote light side is slower... It's the only way to do our job without our view of that job becoming warped and distorted, and turned into an abomination" He would warn. "This is why they are so strict with it"
