The War on Hapes (Year Long RP)

Miles rolled to his feet, weapons in hand, he noticed the two soldiers firing at the other Jedi. Miles utilized his duel-weapons in a flurry of hacks, slashes, and stabs. Coming in at the Sith like a hurricane of blades. Miles would use a style he learned as a commando called Fast Style, utilizing mobility over brute strength, Miles would attack, move, attack, move, etc. Rolling, jumping, ducking, twisting and flipping, like the holo-vids he watched of Master Yoda from the Clone Wars. The development of this style was to counter brute strength opponents and make it nearly impossible to counter every attack, Cuts would start to appear over the Sith's body. In such an occurrence that the Sith withstands the barrage of attacks or stops them, Miles would use his pack to withdraw to decide another strategy. Given that he was no Jedi or Sith, Miles knew he was at a disadvantage without the Force. He would still put up more of a fight than the Sith could ever bargain for.

Since the soldiers hadn't been using their jetpacks for quite a time now, @[member="Meta "]did little more than pull the man over, whose companion fired of another shot at the Jedi, one which violently exploded once it neared him since he was using the force. The first shot was followed by three more, then a fourth, then a fifth. The last two came from the man who had been pulled down, but now had risen to his feet. Meta was outmatched.

"Now why would I want to help a vile villain such as youself?" Daxton quipped at @[member="Meta "]as he moved to meet @[member="Miles Varden"]'s charge. Vibro weapons clashed against lightsabers as the pair flowed in different maneuvers between strikes. When the first couple of blows missed their target, Daxton switched tactics in midswing. Instead of meeting blade for blade, Daxton would suddenly switch off his blade just as the blades would meet, causing the vibroweapon to miss, igniting the blades without warning as soon as they passed through the enemies guard, forcing him to jerk out of the way or get nicked with the counter blow.

While it was true, Daxton could not counter every attack as the scoring on the green and purple reflective sheen of his armor could attest to, most of the damage was deflected by the thick alchemical metal. As the soldier used his pack to retreat, Daxton reached forward and stabbed at the meaty part of his thigh with both of his blades. Unless his armor was designed to take concentrate lightsaber strikes, the combined strength and intensity of the blades would be more than enough to pierce through the armor. If he used the pack to move backward, he would end up drawing his entire leg against the combined blades, literally stripping the flesh against the blades as he attempted to flee. Daxton grinned at the irony that the soldier was doing the damage to himself and with no extra effort on the part of the Sith Lord.

Meta wasn't outmatched, these soldiers were over confident. Very much so, in a blur of motion. Meta used his augmented speed and the force to become an untraceable blur of motion the soldier on the ground was what he was targeting. Ashe reached his attacker, the what looked to be mandolorian was still turning his head. Meta slashed through him with his Lightsaber. His body flipping and twisting in the air. Meta then, still in a motion of speed took a grapple from his belt, and threw it into the air, it caught onto the flying soldier, around his neck. Meta pulled, now leaving his use of doped behind as the blur became a single person. He pulled, the jet pack or anything the mandolorian could do was nothing in comparison to his strength. He pulled the man down, slamming his body into the ground with massive strength. His head was twisted and cracked violently against the ground. "Don't worry, it's under control." Irony in his voice as no one had moved to assist him.

Miles' strategy had worked at first, but the Sith was wise, using a form of lightsaber combat known as, Trakata, though Sith had difficulty applying this style, as their power came from passion and rage rather than level-headed tactical ingenuity, Trakata was not used too often by the Jedi either, because it was a tactic that relied on deception. Miles could hear the sizzle and pop from the lightsabers making some contact with his armor during their trade of blows. As miles pulled away with his jump-pack, the Sith jabbed his sabers at Miles' leg, cutting the plates from their home and drawing a long, burning hot line along the length of his left leg. Miles landed on his knee from the pain, right leg dug into the ground to stop him from moving further or tumbling. Drawing every ounce of strength and will in his body, he managed to stand. But he could barely move. Instead, he bowed his head at the Sith, he had bested him in a fair fight.... but this was far from a fair fight. Miles set off the remaining charges, causing massive explosions around them. Through his external speakers, distorted from damage, anyone nearby could hear the maniacal laughter echoing from the commando as fire and molten earth began to erupt around them. Miles used this as a last ditch effort to stop the Sith. Massive spires of fire created multiple pinpoints that could be seen from space. The Sith had done all the work for him, and Miles had placed his charges around places that were the most damaged or cracked. Then through the cacophony of explosions, a distinct whine from a jet propelled device cut through, signalling the commando's escape from the battleground.

And he thought they were overconfident. The first man, who'd since gotten to his feet, traced @[member="Meta "]with his heads up display, rolling away from the strike. The next man who again WAS NOT FLYING, NO ONE HAD BEEN FLYING FOR LIKE, FIVE MINUTES, simply detached the jetpack the second Meta grabbed ahold of his back and rolled away. Meta may have had augmented speed and strength, but he lacked training at the level they had, and that would make all the difference in the end.

Meta kicked himself realising his mistake. The soldiers were trained, well trained. Meta backed up into the Makashi form, taking a stance away from the two soldiers. He readied his blade for incoming attacks, and a pack up of force push incase any explosives came his way.

"Are you sure you want to go?" somebody had asked from Lilith. He was just a simple person who sometimes rented starfighters and other ships to people. But this time he shouldn't have expected to see the ship. Even though the ship Lilith took with her was equipped with different sensors and other things which would send some sort of signals to the man. But Lilith knew the Force was stronger.

"Yes, I am sure. I understood, that you don't want to give it to me so that I could fly to Hapes, but... I really need it. I already payed for it. And if you won't let me take it, I shall sue you! In a court. Or even better, I should contact the Sith Emperor himself."

"Alright-alright, take it!"

---

And now Lilith was flying towards the planet. She wasn't in its atmosphere yet, but she was really close to it. She had heard, that something is going on on that planet, but she was very unsure about these things. It was better to be really carefully. Especially since neither she nor the ship were really good. Lilith was a stupid Sorceress Potential who knew almost nothing. And the ship was a really old piece of metal. She didn't know the model of it.

@[member="Meta "]sealed his own fate when he tried to push the Boltgun's (apologies for miss-naming it) rounds. The second the push touched the bolts, the exploded violently, hurtling fire onto the Jedi and kicking up a storm of dust, hopefully obscuring his vision. When it cleared, the two men would be gone from sight, having retreated to the tree line. In their place stood a single figure, hooded and masked, hands behind his back, legs spread to shoulder width apart. The man stood their in silence, eyes boring into the Jedi from behind the mask.

(Not a problem)

Not before it was too late did Meta realise his mistake. These soldiers were using boltguns. He couldn't fight them, especially seeing as he was a padawan and inexperienced. But, just as the man stood there, staring at Meta. He also wore a mask, funny. Wasn't it? However those thoughts were put aside as the tree line was broke by the rumbling escape of blaster fire, Sith soldiers pulling back from the woods as a group of republic soldiers quickly followed in suit, if neither of the two masked figures moved. They would be killed in the cross fire.

The problem with being arrogant was one tended to forget to make tactical considerations. First of all, unless the explosives had some sort of thermal deterrent, the heat of the lava would have triggered their charges so much eariler. Secondly, the explosives were placed haphazardly at a distance from the Sith, so even if some of the charges weren't triggered by the heat, he was already outside their effective blast radius. Third, the soldier had failed to take into consideration that he had already triggered some of them to take out some of the speeders. This meant his last ditch effort would prove hardly a threat, much less a danger to the Sith at all. Some super heated chucks of rock did fly in his direction, easily parried by his rich flame resistant royal purple cloak, burning holes through the tough material. The biggest mistake he made though was he forgot to take into consideration that Daxton's ally was a dragon and he was still lurking about. That and the fact that Daxton still had survivors from his unit zipping about on their bikes as well as the support of heavy bombers on the way. It was only a matter of time before the Sith would secure the position for the glory of the Empire.

Miles landed a few dozen meters away from his opponent, The Sith did not move, nor follow. It seems as though he was pondering the events that just unfolded. The charges Miles had set were strong enough to take out barrack walls and tank hulls; to break the already cracked and broken ground was nothing, and the heat from the lava would not set them off, their chemical make-up is not heat sensitive and very stable, only the combination of the priming charges' ignition would set them off. The charges were placed around the area the Sith had effected with his Force power, giving Miles an outline to follow, and even with having set off a few, that still left him with plenty of ordinance to loosen the ground and tectonic plates furthering the eruption of fire and lava. The area surrounding the Sith would look like a minor volcano surfacing in the middle of the ground. Miles was still aware of the few remaining Speeders as his unit, the cyborg, the other soldier and himself had taken out nearly all of them. The immediate area would be sparsely occupied from the eruptions, explosions, and bombardments. It's unlikely that all of the Sith units would have remained in such a hostile zone. Any other dangers would be unlikely due to the destruction of the area, warrenting no further need for attention to this now blackened spot on the surface of Hapes. Miles now limped away to find his remaining units, the rain, smoke, steam and fire would mask his retreat from any potential followers. Plus, one wounded, wondering soldier would pose no viable threat to any who happened upon him, especially considering that the rest of the Republic and Sith forces had already pulled back from this area, Miles radioed into the HQ and requested Kilo Station be glassed, and officially noted as lost but not taken. Juliet was the nearest station, and he made for it. Plunging a small vial of bacta into his leg, he would make it back with little trouble. Miles had fought and survived a fight with a very dangerous opponent, A Sith of unknown power and potential, considering the fight started as 4 on 1, Miles was satisfied with the fact that he was at least still breathing. He would need a vacation after this, and he was certain a few drinks were in order.

If @[member="Meta"] thought simple blaster fire would stop what was coming he was a fool. Twisting and ducking, the masked figure avoided the oncoming barrage with ease. Slowly he moved towards the Jedi, hands still behind his back as he avoided the stray blaster bolts that came his way. Quickly the crossfire shifted directions as the forces of the Republic and Sith moved to and fro, trying to kill each other. The man felt a pang of sadness as he saw the young men and women dying in the name of two different force using religions which none of them would ever be allowed to understand because they lacked the gifts of others. One day, they would no longer quarrel for the sake of those fools, and perhaps the galaxy would be closer to equality and peace. But their current quarrel would not save the Jedi. He would not stop.

@[member="Aequalis"] dodged and swerved passed the blaster bolts. Meta held his blade up and made his way towards the masked figure. Stopping a few metres away. His green blade covering the distance between the two, meta stopped in position. Taking a defensive position. He remained calm and focused.

The man simply stared at @[member="Meta"], his body completely relaxed as he stood awaiting Meta to make a move. The pad wan would strike, it was inevitable, but how he struck was what mattered. The boy's first move would decide wether or not this fight would be over quickly, or if it would be dragged out form a good few minutes before he was taken down, regardless, equalization was coming.

The distance between Meta and the masked man were closed by his lightsaber. He could kill him right now, but what was the point? He had no reason to. This man might have more than likely had some interesting things to say. "What's your aim?" He asked, his mask covered eyes staring into the smaller mans opposite him.

Daxton savored the victory, as the ground revolted all around him, the harsh heat and plasma flows throwing weird lights around his battle scarred green and purple armor. Tie Interceptors and Bombers flew overhead as they secured the air space over the new Sith acquisition, negating any further threats as Sith reinforcements arrived to secure the foot hold.

Savoring the heat, he was none the least concerned, after all what could products of Earth do against one who was a master of Earth. Sheathing his blades with a reluctant hiss, he had the remaining speeder secure the perimeter while they waited for the Sith troop transports and engineers to arrive, the dust trails clearly indicating that they were heading this way at that very moment.

"Equality." The man said flatly, staring down the lightsaber unflinchingly. @[member="Meta "] thought he could kill the harbinger of the new age with ease, he was wrong. A single strike with his palm was aimed at Meta's hand, attempting to knock the blade away at the hilt, if it succeeded, he'd follow it up with a kick to the gut to put some distance between them. These were defensive maneuvers, more aggressive attempts would've been made if he was more intent on causing bloodshed.

@[member="Aequalis"] was overly confident. CQC up close? Was he mad? However, neither of these things concerned Meta. He focused on the task at hand. Meta dodged the swipe easily, then moved forward. The man in front of himself torso twisted as the arm swiped at his double grip. He pulled back and brought his elbow around with speed into the mans face, a few inches away. If the hit connected, it would be followed up by an uppercut to incapacitate the masked man.

Aequalis ducked under the elbow at an impressive speed, dropping lower and sweeping back with his legs in an attempt to knock @Meta. If he was anyone other than himself, this would be suicide, but he was himself, and he was a spectacular hand-to-hand combatant. He also launched a few quick jabs at Meta's underarm, hoping to strike one of the human body's pressure points..
