The battlefield is where the masters are separated from the rank beginners. Daxton sneered as the soldier slipped from view into the clouds of smoke and steam, thinking that would obscure the Sith Master's vision. He didn't even need the advanced optics display on his hud to track down the enemies life signs, his eyes were glowed a sickening green aura as he engaged his Force Sight.
As soon as he began laying down the charges, Daxton laughed in amusement at the pitiful attempt to ensnare him. Did the soldier forget that he was standing in a field of superheated earth, the cooling lava alone would trigger any explosives before they posed a threat to the Sith. Possibly splashing the Republic soldier and burning him badly as well. Well not it mattered, it was his funeral anyway. So Daxton decided to focus on the more immediate threat of the prancing Jedi.
@Miles Varden
Typical of Jedi, they were too arrogant and gullible. Did this adept, this worm think that Daxton was playing by the same rules? Striking all out without probing the defenses was sure fire recipe for disaster as he was about to find out. As the Jedi leaped into the air, activating his blades and engaged in the falling leaf maneuver, Daxton's blades replied by spinning faster in the circular arc, leaving an backtrail image of circles of pure energy, the hilts a blur as they spun faster and faster.
At the height of the arc, Daxton leaped to meet his foe, his hands seemingly unarmed, the armored fingers clench like fists, his three spinning blades accompanying him as he struck, Malice in the lead, followed by Respite and Pride. Just as the blades were all about to intersect, Malice's red blade unexpectedly winked out, the hook hilted handle striking across both the blades of the Jedi, causing them to wink out of existence as the Cortosis interacted with the energy blades. Then a second later the red blade hissed back to life, as it tried to score the Jedi before he could recover from his weapons deactivating. Respite and Pride, struck high and low, the former stabbing at his victim's left shoulder just below where the ball socket was, while the other slashed at his stomach, with the intention of ripping the flesh and spilling his insides across the landscape.
But those were only the feint moves, Daxton's real attack as about to strike as he launched several of his Force Tentacles at his victim. Force Tentacles were the manifestation of Daxton's mastery over Telekinesis, each was a finely tuned, combination of Force Push and Pull, excerted with fine control that it was as if the Sith Lord was wielding an actual physical appendage to do so. Each tentacle was about the size of a ham, and struck with an impact of runaway truck skidding across an ice field. The strikes would be coming from all directions, bashing the Jedi across the back, neck, legs and groin before he knew what had hit him. "And for some reason, I thought you would be smarter. Well goes to show you I could be wrong." Daxton sneered back in retort as he struck. "Seems to me all you got going for you is a motor mouth, you inbreed country pig farmer!"
@Tracyn Ordo
Landing on his feet, Malice and Pride, Red and Blue blades immediately went to his hands as he prepared to finish off the Jedi before he could recover. Unexpectedly something slammed into his head, causing the HUD to jostle and buzz as it tried to readjust. Turning towards the source of the annoyance, Daxton spotted a soldier wielding a smoking rifle.
Most of the damage had been soaked by his personal shield, and the helmet itself was alchemically treated to be even harder than vaulted Mandalorian iron, but it still annoyed the Sith that someone would dare strike at him in such a cowardly fashion. Pointing a hand at the crust of lava near the soldier's position, he used his mastery of telekinesis to rip the crust apart, spraying the area with liquid molten lava in retaliation.
