The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
@[member="Fabula Cavataio"] is still my mistress/wife/captor and there is not enough ropos.
My only real complaints right now.

Contraty to popular opinion, killing your character can be an awesome ending to a story.Circe Savan said:"Potential of an awesome ending"

This forever. A lot of my most cherished RP moments have involved some of my characters getting killed, and the repercussions thereof.Ayden Cater said:Contraty to popular opinion, killing your character can be an awesome ending to a story.
AGREED, mostly the flocking part. I mean, yes canon factions of course are cool and all, but what about the unique factions, like the Levantines and all those Minor Factions that get a single glance then are left alone to die. Hell, only reason my Minor faction is even living is because all 5 of the members are my friends.Yoru Shakou said:
- Too many factions recycle the same over used system and names.
- Members flock too much to those factions that are carbon copy repeats with limited creativity or input.
- Too many new, under used and unique ideas are pushed to the side and ignored.
This forever. Fringe and OP did this for months, and so far as I've heard, everyone loved it.Gilamar Skirata said:-I think "Wars" should consist of more than a few invasions and an invasion of the capitol world. Lets see some skirmishes and faction threads with leaders talking and some more skirmishes and then a nice sprinkling of invasions. Oh, and occupations
Agreed, though i just wish people looked at the library of factions, even the mini planet factions like the chiss, Echani, (Not the Dathomiri, they actually have a player base so dont count.) And those Crystal finder guys. Like... trying to put this in the right words...Disciple said:There was a time when a brand new faction was created with a wonderfully unique idea. This faction was brillianty designed, enticing a host of great writers to it's banner. And then... the creator left (within a week and a half) long before anything could be done with the faction. No one knew what to do. So it disbanded.
Since then, that's basically been the story of things. No one wants to actually put the work into a new faction or, if they do, they feel that it is a necessity to go major immediately - a horrid idea that serves only to hasten their demise. If you want 'unique' ideas to flourish, you must first put time and effort into it's creation. Then you need to roleplay; find members. Anyone can make an alt, but not everyone can entice through story.
If you can do that? You're golden.
But just posting up a new faction idea and making a new faction is never going to attract the attention it may or may not deserve. Why? Because there's a faction for everything.
nevermind that Fringe and OP are entirely original factions, at least at their core.
Edit: The success of factions through time, as Daella has reminded me, has come from the commitment and initiative of their leaders. If you can't be arsed to stick around and support an idea, even when it seems like no one is interested... neither will the members. Sometimes you have to keep yelling until someone comes to see what all the fuss is about.
