Wake Up

Kira Talith

"Now you are just trying to butter me up," Kira told her husband, sticking the pink tip of her tongue out at him. She even blew a raspberry at him, a slight pfft sound that would be expected from a youngling. Didn't matter if the woman was well into her fifties; the Lorrdian Jedi Master was young at heart.

"The aft wings? Okay" Kira replied, sliding into her seat after ducking low. The black cushion sank under her weight, a comfortable squish. Leaning forward, her hands deftly flew over the controls. Diagnostics came online and the shuttle gave a hum.

" Running." she began, bringing her hand up real quick to push her blonde hair behind her ears. He'd been right. ""Looks like we might have a loose wire. Either that or something is blocking sending the signal to move them."

[member="Kira Talith"]

A loose wire was probably more likely than one would think. The little shuttle had taken quite a being and managed to stay whole without too many problems. He did wonder if the Pirates actually had gunners or if they were just using slave-rigging. The latter would mean every gun on that ship wasn't half as good as it could be. Unlike Soliael the Pirates couldn't control everything about their vessel with just a single thought or push of their mind.

Thank force for that.

Soliael leaned over Kira, slowly peeking a look at the console. As he moved over his hand surreptitiously fell onto her chest, fingers scrunching for just a moment before he rose. "I'll go check it out."

The Former False god flashed a smile at his wife, then quickly went off to fix whatever was wrong.

He was sure that he'd just find a wire or something of the sort knocked loose, but there was never any telling with problems like this. No diagnostics meant you didn't know what the issue was until you were already there.

"Hey! Silly goose!" Kira cried out, trying to bat at his hand as he left. Once he departed, Kira gave a slight side to side shake of her head. He was like a kid sometimes. Always grabbing her here or there. It was endearing. Kira knew that Devin loved her and it really felt nice to see how much she was appreciated. To know the depth that he still desired and loved her.

"I'll give you updates -- let me cut off the power first so you don't electrocute yourself. " The woman called out over her shoulder. Moving over the panel, Kira went through the shut down procedures. Devin might be a whiz when it came to technomancy, but there was no need to not follow standard procedures for safety.

He saw the light flash as it slowly shut down power.

His lips turned to a smile as he removed the panel tot he aft wing section. The light wasn't much without power back here. He frowned for a moment and turned, rooting through the toolbox that he had left up here for a moment before pulling out a flashlight. He clicked it a few times, Scowling when the thing didn't work. A sigh escaped him, then he whacked the Flashlight against the metal panel. A second later the bulb burned into life, smile returning to his face.

"There we go." He said to himself as he pointed the beam into place.

A small smile crossed his lips.

"Looks like you were right." Soliael called up to her. "One of the wires is cut."

He looked up at his wife. "Need your tiny hands."

" My tiny hands?" his voice was a little bit muffled, but Kira was able to understand him just fine. Lifting herself off of the chair, the petite Jedi Master wandered over the small distance. She found her husband prone with a flashlight in his hand.

"Is that all that my hands are good for? She managed to tease, dropping down into a low crouch beside him. There was a twinkle in her blue eyes and a broad smile curving up over her face.

"Alright, move your bubble butt over," Kira ordered him, giving his butt a small smack so he could get out of the way.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"No." He told her. "When we're done here I can show you many other things they would be good for."

They still had about two hours until they got to the planet after all, that was enough time for a quickie.

He moved out of her way, then brought the flashlight above her head so the light would shine into the panel. She would be able to see just what the problem was, a wire that had been severed, likely by the shock of the turbo-laser blast during the fighting.

"Need you to just tighten those two ends together, then I'll solder it." He only needed one hand to solder the wire, but both in order to actually attach them together. Unfortunately the space wasn't big enough to actually let him fit two hands, thus he had to use Kira.

Easy.

"Oh that little thing?" Kira replied, the corner of her mouth twitching. Slinging forward, the blonde wiggled her way in. "Gotta move your big butt out of the way first." She told her husband, giving him a light bump with the side of her hip.

"And who is to say that maybe I won't be showing you exactly what else my hands are good for?! she teased him, shifting and sliding so she was comfortable. Yup, there it was.

"Well that did a number on it." she murmured, moving in to squeeze her small hands to grab at both ends.

'For damages, this really ain't too bad."

As Kira fiddled around with the two wires Soliael slowly moved about the small ship.

The shuttle really had taken a surprisingly small amount of damage, just a few scorch marks and wires knocked loose. If the Gladiator had gunners they likely would have been toast, or if they'd use proton torpedoes. It was a good sign really. "Yeah."

He agreed with Kira as he wandered up behind her.

"I don't think they have a proper crew." As he spoke Kira would feel his fingers slide onto her waist. "Otherwise they'd have hit us."

Slowly, while she worked, his fingers would slip into the hem of her pants. "As for your small hands..."

Soliael trailed off as he pulled the cloth from her hips and lower.

"I think you much prefer to see what mine can do first." He smirked.

Ohh, that little...

A mock purse of her lips and Kira swung her head down, eyeballing at the upside down vision of her husband at her back.

"Just what do you think you are doing buster?" her rump gave him a slight nudge in emphasis. The innocent expression Devin reflected back at her was nothing but a pile of banthapoodoo. I know better.

"Aren't you supposed to be giving me a hand here!" she would chide him playfully, pointing with one finger at the flashlight that he was supposed to be using to help her.

"Hands off the goods and back to work!"

[member="Kira Talith"]

He smiled at her, though didn't stop what he was doing. "I am helping, honey."

At this point in their marriage Soliael had learned to make up a thousand excuses. None of them really mattered of course, she would be able to perfectly sense his intentions through the ring that he wore. That, and the small twinkle in his eye was more than enough to give away that he meant mischief. The kind that she would enjoy.

"I'm seeing if you remember your Jedi training." Soliael went on as Kira would begin to feel brisk air on sensitive skin. "Testing if you can block out all distractions."

His hands stopped on her upper thighs. "Because I'm very good."

He told her.

"Devoted." The Former False God went on. "I want to make sure you're ready for what we'll be facing."

There comes a time in a woman's life where one considers the choices she has made. The choices and the resulting consequences. As the ache of her body and the protest of her knees reminded Kira rather loudly, the Lorrdian came to one very simple conclusion.

"We need a mat here." the blonde abruptly said from under the tousled mane of hair covering her face. Everything ached. Her back. Her knees. Her legs. Everything. Not that she was complaining, just that everything was hurting.

"Or we use your knees next time." that brought to mind a whole new set of possibilities, but alas, not for the present time. Kira gave a slight, "Pfft" blowing hot air and hair away from her sweaty, flushed face. Everything was sticky -- and she was sure that a hydrospanner was poking her left buttcheek. How did that get there again?

She was half on the floor and half on her husband in a tangle of arms and legs. Every now and then a surprise twitch took her limbs, prompting a slight wince.

" Okay big guy." Kira croaked out, patting his bare belly, fingers tickling over that dark line that drifted south.

"Yeah, next time you can be my cushion."

[member="Kira Talith"]

Soliael of course could ignore the march of time, at least for now. His hair had become gray and his eyes a bit more set, his jaw a bit harder, but he was still the same man as before, at least mostly. He had no idea where the changes he'd experienced came from, perhaps playing with his genetics had done it, or perhaps it was the simple stress of raising four kids, but even with the physical changes it was more than obvious that Soliael still had years left.

Unlike Kira, he felt no aches, no pains, nothing.

He was as spry and active as he had been fifty years ago. He could still run, he could still fight, he could still fu-go all night. It wasn't something that they acknowledged, not really anyway, but it was clear that Soliael was still destined to live many years beyond his wife. "Alright."

The former false god told her as he booped her nose.

"Only because you did such a good job this time." He told her with a smirk.

There would come a day where they would have to talk about their future, Soliael's future after she was gone. The thought wasn't one that he liked to consider, wasn't one that he even wanted brought to mind, but it was an eventuality that he needed to accept. Knowing Kira she already had a plan for it all, but Soliael had simply been living in ignorant bliss.

"Hey that's my nose!" Her protests were weak, as was the light bat she attempted to push his hand away. A groan bubbled forth from her lips shortly after. Yup, too sore. A low lubdub came from Devin's chest, the steady metradone of his heart. Part of her knew that they should get up, but another simply enjoyed they were cuddling together- even if it was on the floor.

"I vote for a soak in the hot tub." That would feel worlds better. They still had some time before they reached the sector, much the less the planet.

"Otherwise I'd be no use to you walking at all." Came her dramatic sigh.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"I dunno if I can allow that." He told her as he ran his fingers through her hair.

They still had about an hour and a half before they arrived at the planet, and even when they did get there it wasn't like they immediately had to head to the surface. The Freya wasn't a stealth ship, but they would be dropping out of hyperspace at the edges of the system, and behind one of the distant moons. A precaution that Soliael had insisted on in case there were anymore pirates lurking about. This way they wouldn't be found on long-range scanners.

"You." He began. "In the tub, sensually washing yourself."

He shook his head. "It might be too tempting for me."

Soliael stretched slightly.

"I'd have to join you, and then it'd start all over again." Soliael shook his head rather sadly as if the option were not a good one.

A heavy snort followed the poke along that happy trail.

" Please, you can rein yourself in. I am but a single woman! I can only do so much!" Another bop followed along with a lazy scratch.

"Besides, what will we do if we are in the shower and then suddenly pirates again?" came her half joke, one lone, slightly scarred leg arching up to stretch in the air. The Lorrdian Jedi Master was such a tiny thing, legs and all.

"We need to focus our attention!" she teased, bringing her leg back down and rolling onto her side to face him, her cheek pressed to his chest.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"That's what I'm saying." Soliael told his wife. "We need to focus our attention on making sure you accompany me to my captains chair."

He nodded.

"I need to keep an eye on you." It was clear that either Soliael really wasn't concerned with the pirates, or he thought that Kira would be better off being less concerned about them herself. This was supposed to be a vacation after all, and if they had to go against a Pirate Empire they should do it while enjoying themselves, not staring into the misery of the situation. That was how Soliael looked at it anyway, and he was pretty sure he was right.

"But." He told her. "I guess to be fair you can change into that Navy outfit."

Soliael nodded his head. "Make it proper at least."

"You just want me to dress up in the Navy outfit!" of course, Devin wasn't going to deny it. He would simply stare down at her with exaggerated guiltless eyes. He was either trying to keep her mind busy or, well-being Devin. Likely a little of both.

"I'll have you remember that it is my Captain's chair." It was emphasized with a poke to his belly again. One that gave a slight grumble. One of the cons of being so broad and tall was that the former false god had to ensure he had plenty of calorie intake on a day basis.

"Hungry I presume? Her lips gave a twitch, and she went rolling on top of her husband's chest. Blonde hair fell forward to tickle her cheeks and waterfall over the curve of her bare shoulders.

"I guess I did work up your appetite. "

[member="Kira Talith"]

"It is a Captain's chair." He told her. "My Captains chair."

A small smirk pulled at his lips.

The chair wasn't really his, more shared with her, but he wasn't about to admit that for anything short of...well what they had just done a few moments ago. He smiled for a second as she poked his stomach. He was rather hungry, though he had expected that they would eat something when they were planet side. Mostly because food was always a good way to win people over in a new situation. He frowned for a moment and then shifted his weight so she jostled on top of him. "I am."

He told her.

"Good thing I brought your chefs uniform too." A small smile pulled at his lips, his fingers coming down to smack her rump and push her into action.

They couldn't just lay here all day after all.

"Alright," the roll brought Kira up. A sigh blew out her cheeks in a puff of hot air, blowing her blonde bangs off of her face. She detangled herself, limbs stretching despite the ache.

"I'm getting up." She gave him a slight rap of her fingers against his belly. "I know what you up to. " she told him, getting to her feet. They had things to do. Laying around wasn't gonna do them much good.

"You go on and get us something to eat then." She flashed him a smile. "You're the better cook."

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Okay." Soliael said as he stood.

The clothing that he had somehow lost earlier when Kira had pulled off her pants was scattered about, though he managed to scoop it up within just a few moments. He didn't bother putting it on however, deciding that he would probably need to change before they landed on the planet anyway.

"As long as you go put on your uniform." He told her. "One has to be properly dressed on a starship after all."

The Former false god waggled his finger at his wife, and then slowly began to head off the shuttle.

The Kitchen of The Freya was located nearby, this one having been converted to a larger model than came standard. This was mostly due for storage, but also to allow more equipment to be stored. They had everything from a fry machine to an industrial oven. Handy really.
