Wake Up

"Wait, what! the snow bunny one?"" Her voice cried out with surprise. I don't even think I --

Her aquamarine eyes narrowed at Devin. Did he.. Of course he would. She gave his arm a light punch, which only resulted in more chuckles than actual pain.

"No, snow bunny outfit!" she told him. A roll of eyes and she got back to the displays. With there being pirates around, she didn't want to be caught with their pants down again. She set commands to be constantly monitoring the space around them.

"Send the probe down," the Jedi Master suggested.

"Let's see if it is just a ball of ice or if there are more interesting things inhabiting it."

Like a massive red creature much like the one they had found back on Exocron.

"FIIIIIIIIIIIIINEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" Soliael said with more than a bit of grouch to his tone.

She was right of course. The pirates would likely eventually catch up with them, but they had at least a little bit of time before that happened. He shifted his weight slightly and returned to stand at Kira's side, eyes darting towards the planet on the surface below. He considered for a moment.

"Ice worlds are hard." He frowned. "We could miss something thats buried."

It was obvious, but kind of depressing. "We should have brought more powerful scanners."

For some reason that hadn't really occurred to him at the outset of this journey, and unfortunately The Freya just wasn't equipped to handle that sort of function. He frowned for a moment and wondered if he could rig some sort of system.

"Well, we weren't looking to go on a massive expedition, silly." Kira teased him, adding the finishing touches to security. However, there was no mistaking the fact that her husband had yet not gone to deploy the probe. Even if all it took was using the datapad.

Oh, right. Technomancy.

"You could always add them in for next time we decide to go on a winter vacation in one of the satellite worlds." she teased. Hoping off of her seat, the Jedi Master was satisfied with the results.

At least now they'd have a heads up if anyone else unexpected showed up.

"So that refresher and maybe some food?"

[member="Kira Talith"]

"Wouldn't just help with ice worlds." He pointed out. More powerful scanners meant detecting more things in general, not just things beneath the ice. Perhaps if they'd had stronger scanners in the first place they wouldn't have even needed to go down to the Temple...though that premise was probably false in it of itself, mostly because Kira would have wanted to go down onto the planets surface no matter what they'd found on scanners.

He shrugged.

Oh well, perhaps next time indeed. "Sure."

He wondered briefly though whether or not those pirates would end up following them. A part of him thought they might not. They, after all, had no idea who Kira and Soliael were, had never seen The Freya before, and for all they knew were far more weary of outsiders than one would think. Why disrupt a balance of power you have going when things were working out well for you just to chase down one rogue ship? He frowned and then turned to Kira.

"Alright lets go." His hand came down on her bottom. "Quickly."

They both took some time to clean up and shower - albeit after a bit of silliness from the two - and an hour later Kira was wiggling into her snow gear.

These were more suited for her size and very comfortable. They would keep her warm. The blue of the material matched that of her eyes, and would allow someone to keep track of her if she was moving in a sea of white.

"Okay, we'll be quick." she told him, sliding on her gloves.

"Anything back from the probe?"

[member="Kira Talith"]

Soliael had donned a slightly more tribal look. Whereas Kira wore a modern winter sports jacket painted in bright blue Soliael wore an old furcoat with a fuzzy lining on the inside. His pants were lined with flannel and in general the outfit made him look as though he'd been living on snow worlds his entire life.

"Not sure, Honey." Soliael said as he tromped through the bedroom.

"You know me and technology." He fumbled with his gloves. "Never get along."

That was a complete lie.

They both knew that Soliael was far more technically apt than Kira was, if only because...well he could quite literally manipulate the technology itself. That didn't mean however he couldn't tease his wife. Even with the threat of pirates looming over them there was always time for that. Always. "You should probably check. You're so much better than me at that kind of stuff. Really just make me look like kind of a simpleton."

A heavy roll of Kira eyes followed a muffled smack of Devin's ass. He was lucky his snow gear had softened the blow.

"Go, you lug!" she told him, grabbing the datapad to get the information for herself. If he was going to be silly, well he will continue to be insufferable.

Moving along, the Jedi Master skimmed the streams of data. Hmm.

"Some ice caverns." another flick of her finger. "Looks like an ocean over an ice cap." some more information and a sudden frown."

"There is a drastic temperature change from the core to the surface."

[member="Kira Talith"]

"That's not too surprising." Soliael said with a shrug.

"It's the same with a few other ice worlds." Soliael explained to Kira. "The core is usually molten metal of some sorts, Nickel, iron, etc, but as you get closer to the surface the metals become more dense. This prevents the heat from escaping as well."

He frowned. "The Ocean probably doesn't help either."

Again, Soliael was hardly a geologist, but he knew enough about the subject to at the very least make an educated guess. Though of course for all he knew this wasn't an actual ice planet but rather some gigantic construct that turned out to be a super weapon.

With their luck lately he wouldn't doubt it.

"No, this one is a higher temperature than you'd expect for such worlds." she told him, frowning a bit as she studied the information and the data a bit more.

"There seems to be a thick insulating layer here..." she gestured, giving a slight flick swish to bring the data into a holographic map form. The world bloomed between them.

"Can't get a good read out without actual geological sensors.. the probe isn't meant to go that deep."

[member="Kira Talith"]

He shrugged.

"Well then I have no idea." Soliael was man enough to admit when he was wrong. There was no pettiness between him and his wife, no such thing as sticking to false facts, especially when either one of them was proven wrong by the other.

"I suppose we'll have to check for ourselves." Soliael said leaning towards her. "Though, I don't think we have a drill on board."

In theory they could use The Freya's Composite Beam Lasers to dig down...but that could be dangerous.

For one thing they had no idea what was actually down there, and that meant they could hit something...volatile. If for instance they struck some sort of volcanic activity they could burst a bubble of pressure, blowing a hole in a giant spray can and sending a rocket of Magma out to the surface, something that could have disastrous consequences for...well everyone.

"Okay." it was simple as that. The duo gathered their bags, with Kira slinging her own onto her back. A little bit lighter in weight and filled with items and gear that would suit being down in an icy world. She stored her datapad in her pocket.

"Let's go."

The shuttle down wouldn't take long. Once again, Kira would be the pilot. A joke about how he should really learn how to fly was tossed in. A remark about how much she was willing to risk another shuttle crashing and getting stranded was given back.

Once in the shuttle, Kira took the precautions and scanned the sector. Nothing yet.

[member="Kira Talith"]

"What if it's a superweapon." Soliael brought up the joke he had thought about earlier.

The option was very unlikely. Superweapons generally just didn't go sitting around, but a few times in galactic history there had been incidents where someone had left something rather important just laying around. Usually it was a species that had managed to wipe itself out, but once or twice a Sith Emperor built something and just...forgot about it, or died before he could ever use it. Of course that option was still a bit silly, but he would still offer the suggestion.

"We could find the control center." He leaned towards his wife. "Sit in the control throne."

His hand snaked to her thigh, lips pressing against her cheek. "Feel some real power between your legs."

Soliael couldn't help keep the wide grin from his face as they touched down on the surface of the planet.

Another heavy roll of circlets was tossed over at her husband. The man did not know when to quit.

"You think you are soo funny, don't you big guy?" he could really spend hours going on like this too. It amused himself as much as it had amused the kids. Devin could also go on and on with the 'dad' jokes too. One pun after the next, the old fart.

"Well, when you put it that way... I guess it would be nice to finally feel some real power between my legs," she added with an innocent tone. Blonde brows rose at that.

The shuttle rumbled underneath them as Kira started the engines.

"A girl should do so at least once in her life right?"

[member="Kira Talith"]

Soliael only smirked. "Definitely."

He nodded.

The former False god didn't mind banter, in fact he enjoyed it. Though Kira didn't often offer her small bites back at him when she did it amused him to an almost incredible degree. Though many would not have guessed it from her chirpy and all time happy demeanor, Kira was actually quite clever when it came to the trading of...well not quite insults, but something along the lines.

"Maybe if you ask nicely one day." He told her with one last kiss to her cheek. "I'll let you."

With that Soliael pulled back to his own seat.

There was no real telling what they would find on the world below. He doubted that it was a superweapon of any sort, though the heat signature beneath the ice...well it made him more than a little curious.

"Me?" emphasis was given that denoted a thick coating of amusement and mock astonishment.

"Ask nicely?" a snicker and a coy roll of her shoulder.

"Now when have I ever done such a thing?" pearly white teeth went flashing over at her husband's direction. Hands would gently and expertly control the throttle and direction.

"Maybe I'll just take what I want, when I want!" the shuttle gave a slight rumble and shook as they broke atmo. A bright red glow went coating the hull, but other than that, no real turbulence. The sky was clear.

Ice worlds were always interesting beyond what they seemed. To most they were just balls of frozen water, endless Tundra of snow, hardly anyone ever considered what might have been underneath it all. Soliael however had, in a way, found out. Exocron's north had been a frozen wasteland, and...well when he'd made certain changes to the landscape true beauty had reared its head. He smiled slightly at the memory then looked at the world below.

That likely wouldn't be happening here.

"I doubt it." He told Kira quietly, small smirk still on his face. "You're very little."

Was he goading her? Most definitely. "I think I have the advantage to get what I want."

He looked at her with that same mischievous look even as they drew closer to the planet. Finding a place to land wouldn't be difficult here, most of the landscape was flat sheets of ice or mountainous plateaus that would serve as natural landing pads.

"Please," a heavy snort followed. Along with an avid roll of her eyes. Devin thought he was so smart. And silly. Okay, more of a smartass.

"I'll have you know that I'm the one who tackled you at Metalorn, buster." she reminded him with a poke to his shoulder.

"I may be little, but it was you who got his butt kicked when I froze you." an additional raspberry was blown at his direction when she stuck out her tongue.

There was a sudden shake of turbulence. Ice began to form over their viewport. Kira pressed a button and the solarium glassteel began to heat to melt the cover.

"I'll set down here." she gestured to a place on the holographic map.

"One tackle does not a conquest make." Soliael pointed out with a smile as Kira slowly guided the ship towards the part of the planet that the holomap pointed out. A part of him wondered if they were the first ones on this world for centuries, maybe millenia. There was always an...emptiness that came with ice worlds, a certain aspect that much made the places feel like they were completely and totally devoid of any life. It made him uncomfortable oddly enough.

A shrug rolled over his shoulders.

"Sure you can get me on the ground." He pointed out. "It's another thing to get my pants off though."

He shot Kira a grin and then stood up, undoing the safety harness and stepping back into the Cargo Hold just as Kira brought the ship onto the surface of the ice world. There was a loud shift of the ship, a slight buckle of the landing gear as the weight of the vessel settled into place. "Let's do a scan before we head out."

The former False God Suggested

"I would happen to say that yes, yes it does Big Guy." Kira shot back, eyeing him from the corner of her eye with all the mischievousness of a girl in her teens.

"You did marry me didn't you?" Ooo, point Kira! You could even see it in her expression. And it didn't help matters when she painted an invisible point onto the air as if to mark down her win.

"I don't know, I can always use the Force for those." another quip and pointed glance.

"Alright, start it up -- you won't crash us if you do that."

She could be so sassy sometimes.

[member="Kira Talith"]

Soliael smiled, turning innocently away from a wife. "Yeah..."

He turned to the console.

"Sure..." He heard Kira shuffling about behind him for a few minutes, getting up form the pilots seat and preparing some other things for their trip. She was sneaky, there was no doubt about it, but Soliael waited...like a stealthy jungle chat. His fingers pretended to move across the console...and then he struck.

"A-HA!" The former False God spun on his heels, suddenly grabbing Kira and pulling her up and off her feet. In an instant she would find herself scooped up and deposited onto the console Soliael had been working on. "Muahahah"

Soliael laughed as he silenced any objections with a press of his lips on hers.
