Invasion Welcome to the Jungle! [OS - Republic Invasion of Kashyyyk]

Location: Moving to Great Wroshyr Tree, bottom level.

The two Acolytes had given her their opinions, both of which were different. The way of leadership was never easy. Faye's choice was well thought, a small force could slip in undetected while the majority attacked the front, diverting the attention to the frontal assault. However, Khan was right, a full frontal assault would lead to a full on disaster. She walked away from both to think. For the first time since the voices invasion, she needed their help. "Listen up, I need one of you...the less insane of you...to give me your advice." Nothing. When she finally broke down to ask for their aid, they chose silence. Finally one of them spoke to her.

"You are a sith. Not just a Sith but our keeper. Those other two, they look to you for guidance. I say, show them what a true Sith is," the voice of one the Sith Lord replied. She closed her eyes, hearing the words of her Apprentice as she asked if there was such a worthy cause to throw your life away for. Darth Venefica did not believe in such a cause, but those two Acolytes needed to know what the term Sith really meant. After some internal debate with the voice, she had decided what to do. It maybe foolish, but if it worked, then the enemy would be caught unaware.

She walked back to the others, looking at them both. "You will think we are mad for this decision...but you two are the legacy of the Sith. You two will take 92 of the men...leaving me two...and quietly flank the enemy. I, along with two of the men, will draw their attention. This is not up for debate. Go now." She looked at [member="Faye Terrik"] and gave her a smile. She looked at her men, and two stepped forward. How brave of them.

Darth Venefica, followed by the two soldiers, stepped out into the opening. Knowing the enemy was there and watching. She smiled then bellowed, "I am Darth Venefica! I have killed nearly everything you hold dear to your hearts. And I will kill more! Who among you wishes to claim my lightsaber as a trophy? Surely one of you cowards holds a grudge against the Sith. Come now...Jedi...champions of the weak...guardians of the galaxy...hero of the light...face me and I promise to kill you quickly."

Aqulia watched as her fellow pilots dashed for their XJ-9 X-Wing fighters. As they scurried about she checked the playlist for her choice of sings for today. Nothing poignant, nothing prophetic – just something to listen to as she went about her day – killing Sith and destroying carriers. So she uploaded the data to Archie and instructed him to start the songs as soon as she was out of the hangar.

She ran her hands over the ship’s hull – she still couldn’t get over how pretty it was – and the iconic nature of the design wasn’t lost on her either.

So she slowly climbed the rungs to get to the cockpit – she’d no doubt be last out (again). She was one of those pilots that never counted kills. Sure there was a log somewhere and she knew others kept score. For Aqulia it was only ever about making it back in one piece and ensuring there were no more enemy fighters left when she did.

She wasn’t stupid – she knew she wasn’t immortal. But she figured if she died today, there’d be another dozen just like her to fill the void, so why stress? Defending the Republic was all she cared about and so if not her, someone else would do it just fine.

As she fired up the engines and taxied forward she was given the green light to go and kicked in the power. As the opening chords to the song came over on her head-set she whispered quietly, “For the families.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfFJ2mmA6bE

“Thanks Archie,” she said and darting out of the carrier and into the blackness, she saw that the droid had already set course set for the One Sith carrier. ”Angel Three in. What a great day for flying.” she called out and waited for the rest of the squadron to respond.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

There was a rhythm to war.

It pounded in her very veins, slithered through them trailing heat in its wake, until it burrowed into her predator’s heart. This was her purpose and her meaning, she mused distantly, crouched in a defensive position near one of the automated turrets and behind the wookiee warriors standing out along the bridge built onto the branch itself.

It would have been glorious had it not been her friends and comrades howling in agony from lethal, mist-like tendrils, others still mowed down where they stood to defend by Sith troopers. It assaulted her senses and offended her to her core. Orders were shouted, firing intensified, and it seemed as if the dying only seemed to accelerate.

Was there nothing, then, to be done?

Oh, there most certainly was.

Marakai stalked forward from her position, remaining, for the moment, under the heavy cover fire of the lone automated turret that remained. The one that spluttered and emitted its death throes to anyone who would listen had been attacked-

-was still being attacked?

The feline wasn’t certain what the trio of war droids was doing, but with the Sith troopers and the Sith themselves still much further along the narrow branch bridge and covered with the barrage of the remaining turret fire...she acted. A mental missive was sent to [member="Meeristali Peradun"] whom she could not see but could sense, apprising him of her plan.

A vociferous roar emanated from deep within her chest and launched forth from her gaping maw. It echoed and cut through the sounds of the fighting, bolstered by the Force and the meditation of Master Rekali atop the wall. She launched herself at the trio of war droids, noting the being they shielded for a brief moment. Claws capable of shredding durasteel would make short work of the chassis and weapons in close quarters, with the strength of the Force adding intensely to her attack.

Her senses, however, ranged out in the immediate vicinity, seeking and searching the being the droids were clearly trying to protect. If it proved organic, she would know how next to act.

Allies: Sith forces
Enemies: jedi in the area and any republic forces.

As her mistress fought else where she had begun with others to smash into the defending forces mostly deflecting and eliminating any blaster wielding soldiers in the area, her twin light sabers glowed as she sought the battlefield for a more worthy foe while moving to try and cleave down a droid as it fired at her and managing to slice it in half. She knew the jedi would not give up a location until it was likely to fall so she moved to sweep around one of the more Republic guarded spots easily hopping up onto their location before she moved to strike down the soldiers defending the area. But she soon came under fire forcing her to deflect and bat shots back to slowly whittle others. All the while she watched for a jedi to face and challange.

She looked around for where to go in this battle, and she saw the eastern bridge being attacked. She knew where she should go, she headed there to see what she could do. She moved quietly as she could, even though the force shrouded her, she also knew people on occasion could spot her. So she always took extra precautions, so not to be seen so easily. She moved towards the bridge looking a target, this would be her prey. She was still an assassin and she still used the darkside. She just no longer used the sith code, as it had been tainted by these heretics. That was the reason they must burn, the one sith must be stopped. So there could be order in the galaxy, not chaos they wrote on it.

She finally made it to the wall, near the bridge she peered out from the shadow, to try choose her target. She did not fight fair, she fought to win like the sith had taught her.

There was tension all around her. The sith were coming in force once again yet there was only one thing on Kana’s mind: Reunion. [member="Reverance"] was approaching and she knew it. Like a hound sniffing down it’s prey she set off. It was time for a rematch, a throwdown to rectify mistakes in the recent past.

The enchanting rhythm of a heart preparing itself for battle, the noise cancelling concentration as a jedi looked for it’s mark.

Kana was set for the unjedilike of revenge. Maybe not actual revenge as much as a determined strife to prove to herself and her newly appointed nemesis that she wasn’t as easily defeated as they both had come to believe. That ambidexterity still wasn’t her thing but that she had come to fill the gap with, well, little else.

Point being she wanted a rematch, and today seemed as good of a day as any.

She entered a quiet ‘clearing’ much like the one they had been on Manaan. The storefronts and homes in the backdrop had been swapped for trees and the waters had been swapped for swindling altitudes.

She let her opponent know of her presence and that she was waiting for him. The time had come, of that there were no doubts.

Gherron's eyes went wide for a split second as he realized his blade wouldn't cut through the Sith's armor as well as he had expected. At most, it seemed to give it a gentle scratch. Not good. And then again with the fire balls! Jumping out of the way, he set himself in a solid Soresu stance, not letting anything get past his blade. If he couldn't slice his enemy out, he'd tire him out. "Let's see what you've got." As he said that, his face turned to one of determination. Hopefully with a little help, he could do this easier... 'Rael!', he called through the mental link he and his padawan shared. 'I don't know where you ran off to, but I need a little help here!'

That mystical forbidden ‘sith magics’ was also known as Force Walk to those who knew what they were talking about, sadly Carach was one of those few rare individuals. Many years ago Odium had given him the Holocron of Darth Nox, he had spend many weeks, months and perhaps more so years to unlock the secrets behind the ancient technique.

It was through this knowledge that the Voice of the Dark Lord knew a few things about this particular situation. The first thing was the fact that he could probably separate the dead soul of the Sith Lord from Graxin’s armour and end this right here and now, but he wasn’t that much of an asshat.

Besides, that wasn’t really necessary either, seeing as Force Walk had its own quirks and problems. (just as most others ‘forbidden sith magics’ had) namely the fact that the technique was used to bind the souls of the dead to yourself (or items alternatively) and channel their essence for this purpose or that.

Which was fine.

There was just one problem.

Those souls of the dead had to be forced into subservience, they had to be unwilling to serve for the technique to have effect. In fact… if the soul was willing to help? It had the reverse effect with your strength being sapped instead of enhanced.

Of course Carach did not expect the Jedi Master to understand such complicated matters, it was a forbidden sith magic trick for a reason, no?

Anyway.

Either Vulcanus, the soul of a dead Sith Lord, was willingly serving the Jedi - which meant that his strength was being sapped and his plan wouldn’t work or… Vulcanus was unwillingly serving the Jedi, which meant that he wouldn’t want to help him anyway, and… his plan wouldn’t work.

While his first opponent was crafting his shiny ray of death, and his second opponent was attempting to use a technique most Sith Lords had problems with Carach did something entirely else. He didn’t try anything complicated, outlandish or otherwise crazy, whilst his opponents were probably quickly draining themselves of much needed strength… the Voice of the Dark Lord simply employed a little mindtrick, while continuing to persuade the Graug Armies of his point.

A fly flew right in the direction of [member="Graxin Rade"] ‘s face, then another one, and another one. Until there was a whole swarm of flies buzzing in his tent. Which wasn’t exactly a good way to meditate, no? In case the Jedi Master turned out to have another masterstroke and ace up his sleeve, this should help to delay his efforts long enough.

CONTROLLER: Vrag
FORCES: 165 Sith troopers, 200 reinforcements on the way
_______________________________________

The beautifully coordinated assault had long devolved into the chaotic cross-fire so typical of frontlines, and Vrag was glad she'd elected to stay a good few paces behind. Her blue eyes swept across the would-be battlefield; mostly dead wookiee forces, the horde of Peacekeepers huddled at the sole functioning turret, a flood of Vong pouring from the wroshyr tree and onto the branch, droids, flailing Jedi in the distance… yeah, chaos sounded about right.

"Build barriers out of bodies, men! I want cover fire!" Following the rather enlightened idea of the female slicer, the Sith ordered her troops to use the substantial area of the fallen wookiees as makeshift cover; while it was far from perfect, it still beat standing out in the open, protected only by stray debris and whatever crates lay scattered about.

Before the work could get properly underway, however, a deep rumble shook the branch underneath them, and she gazed, open-mouthed, as a wide swath was cut through her squad like nobody's business. Her gaze flickered to the offender, and Vrag narrowed her eyes at the leader of the Peacekeeper battalion, a large man with an even larger gun. Compensating, are we?

"I want the automated defenses under our control, now!" she snapped at the two slicers they had brought along. What else were they useful for, anyway? She didn't need any more dead weight tagging along, and the two had been taking their sweet time with hacking the turrets.

The firrerreo assumed position behind one of the piles of corpses as blasterfire continued to rain down upon them, silent curses running through her mind whenever the cadavers at her back took a hit. The Peacekeepers needed to be stopped, that was for sure. The new squad of wookiees that assailed the bridge on the enemy's side was all but what it seemed to be, and the Knight watched with a satisfied smile as her troops followed their instruction to the letter, concentrating their fire on the platoon of defenders at the far end, shooting at the transformed wookiee Vong just enough to make it seem believable. Certain that her men had the situation well in hand at the moment, Vrag glanced around to find Matsu Xiangu, who shouldn't have strayed far in those few minutes.

"Hey, Iron Maiden," she shouted to the Sith Lord, "would you mind frakking them with those tentacles again?"

  • Built makeshift cover out of cadavers
  • Another 100 troops arrived, 200 more on the way
  • Only one more turret left (Not me, Marakai Al'Orren)
  • Concentrated fire on the Peaceekepers, playing along with the Wookiee Vong ruse

While [member="Darth Carach"] wove his manifestations to life against [member="Graxin Rade"], Darth Nephthys stood by the Lord's side as his shield. His protector. Much like in several battles past, the petite young Vahla Sith Lord would be his first line of defense.

None would pass her.

Fingers would twitch at her sides, seething in the presence of the Darkside of the Force. Around them, her lord was increasingly running sway of the Graug, and she in turn, would also start to permeate with the saturation of putrid Darkside.

For she was a vessel. A vessel of Darth Isolda, Chosen of Vahl -- the Eye of the Dark Lord and the Chosen of Vahl -- of the Goddess.

And much like Darth Isolda had done in Manaan, Nephthys was her conduit. The Dark Mark would burn at her back, a searing pain that was a reminder of her loyalty. Her vow.

Her existence.

Bright crimson eyes would start to flare, a connection building and growing.
For the Eye of the Dark Lord was a conduit to the Dark Lord of the Sith.
As was she.

Bloodthirsty zealots serving the Dark Side against bloodthirsty zealots serving the Light Side. This was not a place for a true Jedi like her. The Padawan’s milky white eyes observed them for a while, trying to find a major difference between the Ession ‘allies’ and the Sith enemies, but discovered little. The beasts under their command looked the same, their hate burned the same,… As such, the Arkanian decided to let the two group rip each other into pieces if they wished to do so while she focused on protecting Republic troops and Wookiee warriors from an occasional blaster bolt that found its way among them. The thick fog that fell upon the planet all of the sudden worried her little; the Arkanian could still observe the battle quite well thanks to her ability to see through infrared spectrum. It wasn’t a nice sight though, given the slaughter and the amount of the Dark Side that suddenly grew stronger. Despite this, Elizie’s thumb had yet to stroke the ignition button on the hilt of her lightsaber.

Despite the thick mist enveloping everything, it was still possible to see the dark shadows in the sky – Sith transport ships that joined the onslaught on the beach. The Arkanian continued to observe, her expression showing little emotion as she gave herself to the Force, letting it guide her. It was then that she felt a large force approaching, Dark Side radiating from their bodies. They were not a part of the main attack force that appeared to be landing on the beach, no, those apparently wanted to flank the city defences and fall into their backs. Luckily, the Force warned its humble servant. As such, Elizie grabbed the shoulder of the nearest officer, her eyes wide open with urgency. “They are attempting to flank us, commander,” she informed him, her left hand pointing towards the forest, “Take your men and flank them instead.” She then turned to some Wookiees that overheard the conversation, nodding at them as well. Unlike the invaders, those natives knew their homeworld. They knew how to survive, how to hide, how to hunt, they knew the jungles and trees that surrounded the city. With the help of the fog, they would easily deliver a hard strike to the One Sith forces and disappear like ghosts, moving to another position and striking again. “Go!” the Arkanian barked, trying not to think about the deaths her order brought upon the attackers and defenders alike. While the Republic officer gathered a small group of men, the roar of the Wookiees summoned several of their brothers and sisters and together they disappeared in the forest.

Her head snapped in the direction of a Sith woman that strode out in the open, followed by two soldiers. She obviously wanted to provide a distraction. As several brave souls trained their rifles at her, Elizie stepped forward, caring little for the Sith’s boasting. “You are surrounded,” she stated coolly, watching as more soldiers aimed at the Sith, “There is no need for you or your men to die here. Surrender peacefully, and I promise you will be well treated as a prisoner of war. Please.” The white-haired woman smiled as she extended her hand towards the Sith and her soldiers as a gesture of peace, letting her aura of calmness wash over them.

Corvus watched it all unfold impassively. The change in atmosphere, the change in the weather, the rhetoric starting the muscles flexing and the testosterone uncorking. It was as it ever was when an Invasion started.

As for her? She decided to holds an impromptu class on the Jedi Code and its pillars with the two Padawan next to her. It filled in the time whilst they waited, distracted them and above all else, afforded them the understanding of what they were there for in the first place.

For Corvus had heard some stirring words and some troubling ones. It would be all too easy for the Jedi to forget which were which. “A Jedi uses the Force for defence, never for aggression and does not kill an unarmed opponent and of course does not, ever, take revenge. A Jedi’s first concern is to preserve life.”

She could sense the impending arrival of the Sith now. She was a Jedi. She controlled no Republic forces. She simply waited for the inevitable conflict safe in the knowledge that there was truth between her heart and the Force. All else was, of course, transitory.

“And learn to recognise when speed is not important. Race when being first is important. It is not necessary to always strike the first blow or provide the first solution. It is more common to be vital to strike the last blow and to give the final answer.”

“And finally, trust in the Force. People will let you down. Governments will let you down. Even you will let you down. But the Force will never let you down.” And she closed her eyes and meditated. The Force would tell her when the time was right to act. There was no need for recklessness. Not now, not ever.

After the conclusion of the speech the Jedi dispersed to go Sith hunting. This was different for Ana as she had yet to fight the Sith on her own. She had alway been with a group and had just been started out. The young woman certainly didn't have her lightsaber at that time either. This was a test of sorts and one which she fully believed that she would be able to pass with flying colors. The young Mandalorian had been trained well.

She paused to stop as she tripped slightly over a trap that seemingly was set to get her. As she did so a voice was heard for her to come there and she could see the red headed Sith behind her. Slowly she turned to face her lightsaber not on but in her head ready and waiting. Making the first move was not something she would do quite yet. She needed to size up her opponent. "You rang?" She stated calmly as she took a few steps forward. "This is as far as you go. I suggest you turn back now."

As their team of slicers, Dark Force users, droids, and Sith viciously fought their way through a karkload of Wookiee soldiers. Cryax Bane could hear [member="Vrag"] shouting angrily at the slicers. Cool your jets, Warrior Princess. Fething working on it over here. It wasn't immediately apparent, but Cryax had just surreptitiously sent an encrypted message to a team of Red Raven slicers hovering in orbit in a rogue space station in the skies over the Stronghold. The message was a simple coded command:

"The Mynocks are circling the Freighter"

This command would direct his slicing team in the space station above to start carrying out a DDOS attack on the communications systems, bouncing code from Holonet to satellite and back again. The target system would be saturated the with external communications requests, so much so that it would be unable to respond to legitimate traffic, or it would respond so slowly it would be rendered unavailable. Server overload. If successful it would jam the commlinks of all enemy forces located at the Stronghold. Sure, many of the Jedi could communicate through telepathy, but most of the Wookiee soldiers would be cut from getting orders their team leaders and mass confusion would erupt among the furries.

As Xenia used the custom slicing software he'd given her, software that he himself had written and tailored specifically to the outdated Wookiee tech, to go after one of the defense turrets, he had his sights set on the other. "Cover me," he commanded his bodyguard [member="Keira Ticon"] and the four Mirari bodyguard droids assigned to protect their Chiss master as he made a break for the other defense turret, sprinting towards it as his robot soldiers' blaster holdouts fired upon anyone getting close. Cutting his eyes to the other turret, the one that [member="Xenia Nastassia "]was on, he spotted a woman ([member="Marakai Al'Orren"]) launching herself towards Xenia's droids with moves like a cat. The Chiss frowned. It was painful to see a fellow slicer get attacked, but on the other hand the other turret was a nice, open target now. While Wookiee soldiers were busy fighting Vong and Graug, Cryax reached the other Turrett, plugged his Datalogger and started the slice. Glowing red eyes flickered across the Datalogger as blue-skinned fingers moved at light speed over the keypad. If successful, the other turret would be soon disabled.

Kian watched on his tactical display as the battle played out before him. The enemy were pressing in at several spots, however [member="Sochi Ru"] had been able to destroy the smaller northern branch and the southwestern branch bottlenecking the One Sith soldiers to the two largest branches. It would help in the longrun, as the One Sith outnumbered the Republic defenders.

Kian turned to [member="Ayden Quell"] and smiled at his apprentice. He was concerned for the young man’s well-being, as he was for all his apprentices on the planet.

“Stay close.” Kian said putting a hand on the man’s shoulder. “The force will guide you, it will strengthen you for the coming battle. Remember your training.” Kian said and turned to see his former apprentice, Jedi Knight [member="Varus Shatterstar"] approaching.

“Hello Varus!” Kian said, “Ayden is with me. Elizie is fighting at another objective, and James…..I don’t know where James is.” Kian admitted. He had lost touch with his apprentice before the battle for Kashyyyk had even begun.

“But now is not the time for chats.” Kian said letting out a sigh. “It is a time for action.” Kian brought up his tactical display and issued a series of Orders to the contingent of troopers under his immediate command. Then he set off toward the advancing forces of [member="Matsu Xiangu"] and [member="Vrag"], a portion of his YVH-1 droids, EMBU droids, and wookie soldiers in tow. The remaining soldiers advanced to [member="Sochi Ru"]’s position to provie support against the massive force of One Sith gathering there.

“Get those turrets guarded!” Kian yelled into his comm-link, his yellow lightsaber springing to life as he advanced toward the branch. The first to advance were a contigent of EMBU droids, rushing forward looking to drive back those who were hacking into the system ([member="Cryax Bane"], [member="X[/SIZE]enia Nastassia"]), and they were supported by a number of YVH-1 droids, whose orders were to destroy any turrets that could not be brought back into Republic control.

All of a sudden Armand could sense his Master's distress, almost as if [member="Graxin Rade"] were warning him of imminent danger. He immediately called upon the Force to help guide him and in one fluid motion he drew his lightsaber from his belt with his right hand, grabbed the lower part of the hilt with the left and parried with all of his might. The saber deflected an object which hurled downward and struck into the wroshyr tree, splintering the wood. And as if he were back in the Hapan Royal Navy, Armand yelled out to those around him "Defensive positions now!" He kept his lightsaber in hand in case anymore attacks like that were coming. Although he wouldn't show it - his face was the picture of grim determination now - inside he smiled, thinking back to his Jedi training and how Cyril asked him if he favored a one-handed or two-handed grip. Two-handed it would be.

He tried to use the Force to warn his Master who he could sense was also in peril.

James rummaged through his pack to grab the explosives he'd been toting, explosives to take the city. He'd set up a pair of explosives that he was going to use on high value targets when a pair of Republic troopers in a tower saw him and fired. They must've been to the Imperial Marksman Academy because they hit everything but James. One particular shot took out the limb he'd been on and the assassin and his toys began to fall, yet a strong hand reached out and grabbed a nearby limb. His free hand snatched one of the charges, the second was wedged between his boots, except, he'd accidently hit the primer. It was counting down from 15 seconds. Struggling with the choice, James resolved in popping it up and kicking it at the city instead.

The charge reached the city, just at the base of a support truss, detonating and splintering the truss. That section of the city sank a full meter. James cringed as he had just damaged the part of the city that wasn't supposed to be blown. From behind the disguise, he gritted his teeth to clamor back up to the top of the branch he now hung from. More troopers rushed to the site of the explosion, weakening the structure.

Remember your training?

What training? Ayden Quell was never trained for this.

He had spent time in a religious cult, exploring the depths of human faith and conviction. He was a member of the Coruscant Security Force, tracking down criminals who found liberation or relief in petty theft. As a Jedi, he was taught... what was he taught? He tried to recite the code, to run his mind through Jedi calming techniques, but nothing came. The harder he reached out the more empty his mind felt. The words that did float up from the ashes of his cognition were just hollow sounds.

Time for action?

Ayden glanced around with trembling irises. He moved with various troopers and cadets, plucking a Vector-class assault rifle from a shelf of weapons ranging from things that shot plasma bolts to things that could blow a man to pieces. He looked down at the rifle and he felt death in his hands. His numb fingers wrapped around the gun as he moved with the infantry, and with his master, [member="Kian Karr"], to the Northeastern section of the stronghold.

The young Human felt a growing sense of serenity coming from somehere. In the barrage of senses, which included death, pain, and agony, he could detect the Living Force flowing strongly. It gave the air an electricity. He wanted to reach out and touch it, but he was already in a state of debilitating shock. It threatened to paralyze him completely.

But something pushed him forward. It was perhaps a byproduct of the heat of battle, which made men slaves to its woes. The young Padawan clutched his rifle tightly, holding it like his life depended on it. He rose up from behind the barricade and fired emerald plasma bursts into the murderous mayhem. His eyes tried to discern what he saw in the chaos, but all he could see was blood.

Location: NE Stronghold bridge/gate
Objective: Help the defenders stave off the Sith troops.
Allies: NJO, Republic, Wookies
Enemies: TOSE and it's troopers.

Layna had made her way down to the bridge. She had seen the Sith troopers rushing the Wookie defenders. They fought valiantly did the Wookies but they needed help. She now stood with them, her lightsaber hard at work.

She looked over as a soldier shot down their opponent and came for her. They were almost 2 meters tall, so probably male. Wrapped in the Force and bolstered by her Master's Battle Meditation, she felt no fear. Her blade turned aside his close-range blasts.

She remembered Seraphina's words of advice during sparring. Sometimes you needed to take the offensive. The Twi'leks saber swept across with Shii-Cho's disarming slash. The soldier conveyed surprise as his weapon went flying. She finished him with a backhanded slash across his torso.

An errant blaster bolt then grazed her thigh causing Layna to cry out. So focused on her opponent was she that the bolt caught her by surprise. The Padawan gritted her teeth as she saw two more of the Sith troops rushing her. Once again, she brought her blade up....

As Taeli descended the ship's ramp, along with her troops, she sensed the attack coming from the beach defenders. A powerful wave of dark side energy was rocketing right towards her disembarking troops. Well, that was just mean and annoying, but there wasn't too much she could to stop it from affecting her normal Sith troopers, but the Vong . . . well the Vong were something else entirely.

Calling on her own connection to the dark side, she pushed out against the attack with her own dark wave of energy, feeling it sapping her strength slightly, but she wasn't going to try and match its power, just simply prevent it from ripping her apart. On either side of her, the troopers were blasted back and torn apart, but she was merely pushed backwards into the transport.

"Report, how many did we just lose?" she said, scowling as she recovered from the dark energy attack.

"3000 men that had already disembarked, my Lady," the commnader at her side said, urging the rest of her troopers onwards and into the battle. "The Vong are more angry than anything else, they got tossed backwards but aren't reporting any casualties."

"Then let us deal with this idiot who thought to use such a powerful attack so early in the day," Taeli said, igniting her lightsaber and charging out of her transport for the second time, Vong and Sith troopers on either side of her as they rushed at the 2000 Graug on the beach.

NPCs
Location: Beach front battle
Controller: Darth Arcanix
NPCs: 9,500 Sith troopers (3000 dead or wounded from Meric Nadun's attack), 12,500 angry Vong, 4 rakamats
Objective: FIGHT!

As they watched their lady charge in, the Sith troopers joined in, blaster bolts flying thick and fast towards the reptilian warriors. The Yuuzhan Vong forces started chanting and yelling as they ran, amphistaves gripped in their hands and thud bugs flying from their bandoleers. The rush of Sith forces met the Graug and began to eviscerate them from the force of sheer humbers, even as Taeli started to cut down Graug after Graug before her. She was not amused at all.

In the transports, the rakamats started to lumber out of their berth, directed by a few of the Vong handlers and they started to head towards the defenses. The lumbering beasts that the Yuuzhan Vong used as siege weapons began to open fire from their Yaret-Kor positions, molten pieces of coral heading right for the defensive wall the defenders had constructed, the dovin basals around it protecting it from missile or blaster fire for now.
