Matsu looked at the man and stood there as he was speaking and she herself was organizing and checking on what personal effects they had discovered. The small information the AI was being able to use here in the library, the sections of reference and artifacts here on the station. "Well to answer your question. I am here because i commissioned this station be constructed. As the ultimate place of learning and knowledge for the jedi. Better then most archives, mobile and designed with some of the strongest materials in the galaxy to protect the black vault and rooms like this where every jedi can be honored." She moved a little more and went to the center where they had a few stranger things but other jedi were milling about. "As to the rest of your questions ask them."

That... Wasn't what he meant. Matsu was acting like a monkey's paw here, and he would merely shake his head, chuckling lightly. "My apologies, Master. I meant more as a Jedi, as a whole. What brought you to the Jedi, why and how? And what reason do you stay, despite the things you've seen, the things you've done, the things you've endured? You had a psycho Jedi Master try to sentence you to death once, for the love of all that's holy. What keeps you going?"

He would look up at the shelves then, curious...

She looked at him and that was several questions but she could go with it and flow through them. "I was born in a jedi prison, my mother was not exactly the best type of person but she only killed for revenge. The jedi sentenced her and she met my father who was one of the guards. It wasn't like the spirit or the prism where one jedi master and droids. This one they sought to have it be more like a standard prison for force users. After she died in childbirth I was taken in by an Imperial knight who taught me until I was seven years old and then I was found by the jedi who have raised be ever since. So I have been with the jedi you could say since before I was born and all of my life."

She was still watching him and walking when she clasped her hands behind her back. "As to why i stay despite everything seen, done, endured. It is because unlike many I have seen I do not treat this like a frill. Something to do in passing that I can pick up later when it suits me. i am i jedi through and through and i serve the lightside of the force. What i have done might not be the best but I learned a long time ago that there will always be something of a price to pay for actions. Be it saving the lives of your soldiers or protecting a padawan. Someone is always going to find it offensive, someone will also have a judgement because they have time to pick actions apart and sith down back."

She stretched out finally though and standing there as the rooms view port opened to show one fo the biocubes and a massive temple. "As to what keeps me going, I am a jedi." She was staying while they could look out. "That means I never have to stop learning new things about the force. Knowledge never ends regardless of how much many seem to want to claim it does, you cannot know everything anymore then you can hold all the grains of sand in the desert or the water in the ocean." Matsu rolled her shoulders with a nod now going over things in her head. "It is why where others get bored with their supposed mastery of the force, I am still a novice learning about the force. I feel sorry for them."

Interesting... He listened intently as she would tell of where she came from and why she was here and why she stayed. It was similar to his own circumstances, really. He'd been in the Jedi in some form since he was incredibly young, and stayed because well... He was a Jedi. This was all that he knew. Sometimes he wondered what it'd be like if his life hadn't turned out the way that it had. But...

Still, he at least seemed pleased with the answer he had, and he would nod his head in turn. "I guess that explains why I took to you so well in training" He would remark. "Sure, you weren't my first Master, and you picked me up late in my training, even if I lost most of it with my wayward memory at the time, but I like to think coming from a similar background, with similar views and motivations, helped things click a lot better" He would quip, smiling lightly.

He didn't actually recall ever telling Matsu he'd regained his memory... He just kind of showed up to work more knowledgeable the next day when he was Knighted. He didn't know how he lost his memory, or how he'd regained it. But everything was crystal clear now. And he liked it that way... Even if he'd prefer to forget the years in a Sith prison.

"But... I feel the same, about those who grow bored. I feel bad for them... I don't think I could ever get bored of learning new things about the Force. I'm a Master now... But I'm still learning. I'm always going to be learning."

One should always be learning should always be seeking understanding as they go through life. She finished up down and opened the door out into the large open area of the temple cube that led down to a jungle area. "Have you ever seen the oracle, most records of it have been erased from history and even fewer understand that it isn't something new." She was looking down at the massive ten story tower with the top being a large crystal and blocky structure going down to the lower levels. Easily around in here before she was looking over at some of the things they had been discovering. "It had been destroyed long ago but with some force techniques and skills we were able to rebuild it here. For study but also to try and understand the connection it has with the force and the visions it will show people within."

[member="Matsu Ike"]

"The oracle?"

He'd never heard of it. Learning something new indeed. He would quirk his head to the side just a little, curious... What in the world was this oracle? Some sort of source of knowledge, an encyclopedia, a codex? Perhaps he would find out if he inquired...

He would then listen, shaking his head then to her question seeing as he had never seen nor heard of the oracle. "This is my first time being up here, so, no, I haven't seen it."

But as he listened to her story, he would look over at the massive, ten story tower, the top a large crystal that overshadowed a block-like structure.... Was this the oracle?

"Interesting..." He began. "Is this the oracle you speak of, that structure?"

She looked at him. "There was one of them created on a planet. The legend goes the species who created it foresaw their deaths and extinction as well as the events of the galaxy millions of years before any humans or alien species set foot on their planet. The legend is not really easy to prove aside from the age as carbon dating the original oracle was several million years older then some artifacts and structures in the galaxy. This is just a reconstruction of it based on what we have found to study it in a more controlled environment and see how it works but." She was walking. "The structure was not the oracle the interior chamber that we found was where one would meditate and be able to see in detail the future. The jedi records originally indicated that a woman used it to discover the jedi on a hidden world because that is where her master was still an initiate. It also views the stream of time in different ways."

He listened then as she would tell the story of how it had came to be, and that this was merely a reconstruction. Still, it was certainly impressive looking for a replica. He didn't know what to think or what to say about the whole stream of time viewing thing, but he merely nodded his head and listened regardless, taking the knowledge in. He really didn't have much to say in this instance, but hey, he could at least try.

"So this reconstruction, does it work like a real one to a degree? Or is it simply a life-sized model?" He would inquire, just trying to get a bit of clarification.

Matsu looked at him with a grin. "Well it has functioned for some like the records indicate, problem is since it and most records were destroyed about what it could do by the sith there is no real way to know if it is working perfectly or at a portion of its strength." she said it with a shrug of her shoulders but was heading down towards it in the stairs to get a better idea of everything they had built within here. The massive station she pulled up as well. "And the best parts of the statrion." Staying there for a mometn as the hologram display of it as a monolith took hold and the cylinder looked larger then orignally. "We can't be one fo the finest jedi stations without the look. The ancient monoliths give the best look for what we want and are revered by different species where they exist across the galaxy."

So yes and no then, more or less. He would nod his head from there, acknowledging it without speaking in response for the time being as he would allow his former Master to continue on. So it was a working model, but many records were destroyed so it wasn't as varied as the original. Still, the fact it was able to replicate the functions of the original was impressive alone, even if they couldn't salvage the original archives it held.

"The best look, huh?" He remarked, a faint bit of amusement on his face as the two would walk and look around at the area around them. "I didn't take you for being interested in fashion and home decor" The Jedi Master would joke, grinning a bit in turn.

She looked at him while continuing down with a raised eyebrow. "The monoliths are old Joshua, older then mot and they are each tied to the force. It presents something of mystique to control one of them. Since we don't have the crew or the power to actually fly one of the monoliths that have been discovered across the galaxy it is easier to make a station look like one. Mortis is a good example and the one within the rift itself where entering it you literally step into the heart of the force. It is where I found the heart of the universe and learned how to generate the force from the galaxy itself rather then just my own power." Something few to none knew and the danger of it was you could be tempted but the benefit of being able to channel larger amounts of the force itself and almost purge yourself. When the mirrorverse had been ripped open she had seen how dangerous she could have become.

He was making jokes of course, and he knew by now that Matsu could at least appreciate a good joke, even if she was incredibly subtle about it and really didn't seem to show it all that much. He had to watch her mannerisms because she really wasn't clear if she found humor in it, or was serious in her disdain. It was a pain in the arse, if he was being honest. But he would continue to listen as she would talk about the monoliths and how powerful they could be, and the reasoning behind building a station that resembled one. What was all this about stepping into the heart of the force though? He was curious, but had no clue how to go about asking about it.

Instead, he would simply nod his head. "I like to think that such power is best left alone. Both by Jedi and Sith. Leaves the environmental destruction to a minimum" He half-joked, but he had no clue just what kind of power Matsu was able to draw... He didn't want the power for himself though. He didn't trust himself with it and probably wouldn't trust anyone else with it. Honestly, it confused him as to why Matsu would seek it out, if it was that dangerous, instead of sealing it away from people who might abuse it.

"It was not the intention to find it. I was exploring and documenting what was there in the one monolith we discovered when a doorway opened." She said it watching him when she was moving to get some attention to the things before she arrived at the bottom. "Then I was in a place that was without form or direction. One of the purest forms of the force and it was raw energy that you could form to whatever you wanted." She had a small look on her face. "Compared to many places, normally I would have looked for a way to lock it down but it is beyond that. Accessing and entering the monolith requires knowledge and skill but also you have to hope the monolith or whatever is inside wants you to come in and...." She trailed off holding a hand out as she showed it. "It is older then most think or want to believe. You'll need willpower and understanding so that your mind isn't overloaded to the point past sanity." She was speaking flowery but it was hard to explain when you literally walk to a place where your very thoughts could form the force into something and you could see or feel across the galaxy anyone you were thinking about.

So she just conveniently found what appeared to be the center of their very way of life on a casual stroll? Somehow that was hard to believe coming from the Jedi that had blown a... Something, the details were sketchy in his insomniac head and he hadn't been sleeping very much so he couldn't actually remember what or who she had blown up. Honestly, a lot about Matsu was sketchy, but he'd simply adjusted to the notion by now. There wasn't any figuring it out, nor any changing it.

"Well, it doesn't take being a Jedi, or morally good, to have that kind of willpower. It was probably best you'd locked it up" He would remark, shrugging in return. She was the older Jedi, she should be better able to judge, right? But he wasn't sure, he supposed. Not locking up something from falling in the wrong hands, in favor of using it for your own gain... He wasn't sure how to react to that. And then a thought reached him.

"Or are you saying it's physically impossible to lock down?"

"The monolith is large enough to hold a planet inside of it at the tip. The crucible stations for training jedi would be a spec on the surface of it and barely even register. Locking it down, locking any of them down would require a fleet that is larger then most governments could have and such a thing would bring far more interest." It was kind of the reverse, bringing attention to it and trying to protect or lock it down so others would stay away meant there would be only more attention drawn to it and what is there.... however the opposite of getting rid of all the records wouldn't help as that was something the sith did. Find something and hide all knowledge of it except for themselves. "It would be an almost impossible task, possible sure but not without making someone think there is another motive."

"... Oh, well chit. I guess that's out of the question then. I guess that means we can't keep it out of the wrong hands then. That's... Concerning" Josh would remark, scratching his head. Force sakes, he was so out of the loop on this stuff. The Jedi didn't tend to keep him informed on anything, and hadn't in years.

Once you stopped being the flavour...

"The question then becomes, how do we stop our enemies, especially the ones who can handle it... From accessing this knowledge, and potentially any power behind it?"

"Well that is a little easier, I stumbled upon a way inside while exploring and studying it. The other monoliths int he galaxy show some intelligence in their design. You can't get in, they have to let you in. Might not be the best but it is something. I don't know if there is a ship that can break the surface of them even with a fusion cannon. The closest thing that anyone would be able to get to a superlaser." matsu kept going while she walked and used the hardlight displays here with drones. "Ancient artifacts from before anything seems to have a few things in common. More advanced then anything we can even think of making, exotic materials not found anywhere in the galaxy except in other artifacts, they have a connection tot he force that can't be measured and..." she paused for a moment bringing up different displays of monoliths they had discovered through the galaxy. "They are sentient, the Mortis monolith can more without propulsion systems on the monolith. it just moves and can move around the galaxy, hold an entire world within it that maintains a micro galaxy almost in some cases. These are ancient things we are children trying to understand. We have just barely sarted to get out of our diapers in terms of technology or mysteries of the force."

"They have to let you?" He would repeat, quirking a brow. That... Sounded surprisingly worse then just having it be open. That meant that only certain Sith could access it, sure, but... He had a feeling that he doubted that the center of the Force, or that monolith or whatever, could discern between good and evil. The Force seemed to serve both ends, he knew, otherwise the powers that the Sith had would pretty much be non-existent. And if it needed a high criteria, regardless of that criteria... That pretty much guaranteed that if a Sith found it, it would be more dangerous then anything. It meant that it was pretty much guaranteed that a Sith who found it would be dangerous. Incredibly dangerous, and much more so with whatever it was that was there, having their back.

As they walked, he would look over at Matsu and add "What are the odds that this monolith or centre of the Force as you call it, can discern between moral affinity, or if it even cares? Wisdom, strength, these or some other things, depending on the criteria...They can be accessed by more then just Jedi. That's a concern, no matter what way you look at it. Is there anyone guarding the monoliths in particular? Someone trying to keep the seedy sorts out, in case it'd let them in regardless of their intentions?" while they went. He agreed that they knew next to nothing in comparison to this kind of scale... But he could at least tell that in terms of it being accessible to the wrong hands, the threat was real and likely.

She was looking at him and. "Your concerns are noted but I do not have answers for it. I have not seen whatever is there that is sentience. I have not been able to study enough of the monoliths to understand what it looks for. Could a darksider gain access to it? Yes they could but that is a danger of anything. The dangers of finding the monoliths, of getting through the areas of space they have been found and facing the dangers that are in them. It is not something most darksiders I have met would do. The easy path presents the most danger as the monoliths offer you power at the cost of your sanity. A price that most are unwilling to pay as they mmight have it all but they wouldn't know what to do with it."

"I suppose that's not an easy thing to answer. If even possible to do so."

It was a concern, a clear one at that. And a very dangerous one to boot. But what could they do? It was an open cave, more or less... With sealings that likely did not discern between light and dark. And could perhaps even be fooled... If the person had the willpower to handle what lay within. The price for these monoliths appeared to be steep... And yet Matsu seemed fine. At least, on the outside.

"And how is your head, Master?"
