She looked at him with a small frown. "I didn't accept ultimate knowledge and power." If she had from how it seemed this could be a vey different galaxy. "Though I did encounter my mirror who had. She was very dangerous." Sticking there while she started to go inside of the oracle. "Just because it is tempting to have doesn't mean one should take it. Much better to learn and understand the power being offered then to just take it. You don't want to have the powers without the understanding. You won't appreciate the power and will be more prone to abuse it." Staying inside of the Oracle she could feel the force energies around the area letting the force energies flow around them.

So she didn't take it? Interesting. She talked about taking it at the cost of one's sanity as though she had experience. Of course he was going to get a bit confused with the way that Matsu had worded the whole thing, aye? Still, she had all that power in her hands... And she didn't take it. It was an interesting thing to consider... And apparently she had cemented her decision when she met her mirrorverse half who'd taken it... And had clearly regretted doing so.

"Aye, I agree. Sometimes it's just better left alone... Studied, perhaps? But not taken... It doesn't seem like something that should be in mortal hands."

Matsu nodded in agreement as she was in the central chamber and bringing it up. The oracle hummed with the force but she was looking at the full length mirror that didn't reflect anything around the room. Designed like that on purpose as the images required focus to see. "Studying it is the intent and since no one goes into the Rift, no one likes the idea of going to study the past it means things can be found and discovered. Like the oracle and what I used my knowledge to make. This mirror can channel the farseeing capabilities of the oracle into an image that another wishes to see. That is also one of the ways I have learned how to find things. You can also peer into the force and try to understand."

A mirror that didn’t reflect? Most would dismiss it as useless seeing as it wouldn’t fulfill the functions that mirrors were to fill, generally for convenience, or for vanity. Josh meanwhile… Was a bit more open-minded to the idea. If it didn’t reflect back what was in front of it, what was it’s use? What use did it serve? What was the owner using it for? What else could the mirror be used for if not to reflect? These were questions that would likely run through the head of the Jedi Master in this instance. And in this case, as he noticed the full length mirror while moving around the oracle, they did.

“Peer into the Force and try to understand?”

He was focusing on the mirror when she said that, still trying to grasp why it was designed in the way that it was… And how clear glass like that could not reflect at all. His focus was rewarded as he began to see something… An enhanced, enchanted, or modified mirror for focus? Interesting…

Even the unique had their use. Even if they seem useless to the unhoned eye and mind.

matsu looked at him peering and she tapped his shoulder for a moment. "Observe." The synthweaved mesh she had used on the frame was there as she put him next to her while looked at the hypergem itself going over it. Her hand was there and extended as she wiped it over the mirror and the fractal pattern shimmered going away to show an image of the library itself. The reflective surfaces of the viewport looking down at the oracle. "Show the Spirit." The image changed as she wiped her hand over it and the image appearing was from the viewport of the Spirit itself. Looking down on the galaxy while she could see the companion galaxies. "Now look into it and think of where you want the force to look. Where do you want to see or who do you want to see." She wiped her hand and focused as the image changed to show her daughter sleeping in her crib then faded away.

He looked toward her when she tapped his shoulder, then his head moved so his eyes met where she was motioning toward. He watched as she would then operate the mirror, giving commands and the mirror would show images in turn. Able to see things itself, that weren't reflected in front of it... Interesting. Matsu would tell him to try, and he would take a breath and nod as he approached it, a bit nervous about it, if he was being honest. But who wasn't nervous about the unknown?

Think about where he wanted it to look...

He did so, regulating his breathing as he would mutter two words, going along with what he was thinking.

"Shmi Labooda."

Clearly, someone was worried.

Matsu looked at the mirror as it shimmered and shifted, bringing up the image for Josh of [member="Shmi Labooda"] with a look and matsu spoke. "She is kind of ot, a little bony in the butt but not all of us can have a Hapen." She said it as a joke for him to enjoy but she was looking at a couple more things. "Pull back." She was letting the mirror do its thing. She remained standing there though before stepping to the side. "Hopefully it is all you can think about but be careful, affection, love can be important but a jedi needs to know how to keep it from becoming obsession, greed and allowing the things you feel to be twisted. Many fail that lesson, you can see it by how easily they fall and embrace the darkside."

And just like that, a vision of Jedi Master [member="Shmi Labooda"] came into view. Surprised at how quickly it had worked, and how crystal clear it seemed to be. She seemed fine at least... That was the reason he had chosen her, of course. He was a worrier, Shmi knew this. He was a bit protective of her and was always worried sick for her when she was gone on mission for long periods of time, especially without contact. To Matsu's joke, though, he would smirk and roll his eyes. "I beg to differ, hers is pretty good" He cracked right back. "I've been with Hapen, I prefer Shmi."

As Matsu gave him the lecture he knew was coming, while the vision of Shmi faded, he would simply nod his head, deciding not to protest that he knew this. "I understand" He spoke calmly. "I've been through a few relationships though, managed to not lose myself yet."

She was looking at him and there was a small grin on her face motioning for the image to change. "Perhaps but one should always be careful, anything can creep up on you or have you forgotten what Kiskla taught all of us. She was a noble jedi then suddenly she got a little taste of position and was so afraid of losing it she made sure anyone who could question her or who she perceived might threaten her position of power. It was a good example of why you need to have a respect for power and position and not let it go to your head. Same with something like another person who cares for you." She said it while motioning with the mirror and wiping it. "Ah there is our destination, the Library itself is coming to Haven. A world where the force flows through it like a lifeblood. My padawan and myself scouted it and met the people but now we are getting a chance to explore the larger southern regions. The locals are a mixture of atrisian and Jin who were enslaved hundreds of thousands of years ago."

"Oh no, Kiskla was messed up before that" He would correct with a light chuckle. "Without checking for facts, based on a rumor she tried to hunt me down and kill me when I left the Order. I never saw her again but... Yeah, honestly, I'm in no hurry to. I wasn't around when she became Grandmaster, but it sounds like that I was right to not be when she was" He would remark, shaking his head. He was blunt, for a Jedi especially. He spoke his mind, and usually didn't tend to care what people thought of it, unless there was a formal reason to keep quiet.

"But I do understand. Still, Shmi is capable of handling herself... I'm not scared for her well-being. I'm just a regular worrywort, is all" He would add, with a light smile as he then listened as she would change the subject about the mirror, listening to her story...

"She got worse but she was a good jedi once. it was when she got a little taste of power and authority and wanted more. She had no respect for it, she had no value for it. It was just given to her where others have had to go for each inch they have managed to get." She was looking at more of the planet as she started walking out and brought up information on her wrist datapad showing al of it. The planet below and the hanger bays of the ships were there. "There is a lot we could discuss about all of the people but we shall just have to go around and see. The world should ease your burden and some of your ideas." She said it while looking at a few of the other things here and there were some padawans beginning a small class.

"She was decent. But she always had that problem. But I agree... As soon as she got a taste of power... Well, it only went downhill from there. She wasn't ready" He remarked.

"Quite frankly, neither was I... But I never let it get to my head. I only wanted to help, and use that power to do just that. The Jedi's goals were mine... In a way, it made me the perfect leader, unbiased and willing to sacrifice my own desires for the Jedi's, at least, until some people decided that the Jedi's goals shouldn't take precedence over their own agenda."

"Honestly, it's begun to concern me... The fact that all my life, I've never really, y'know, thought of myself" He would admit, scratching his head. "I've... Begun to realize lately, the more time I spend with Shmi, and the more I've actually been happy from things outside of the Jedi... I've begun to realize that I've never been whole. That I've missed so much, because I've always just... Well, you know. Looked at the Jedi agenda, looked at the board and then got to work. Never stopped to go home, and be a human being. I mean, hell, look at you, you've got kids of your own that you've no doubt had to stop to take care of here and there. Me? I have none of that, I've just... Never stopped. Never slowed down. Never thought of myself, or my own needs, or my own life. Just my work, just the Jedi, just... Everyone else."

He chuckled lightly, but it was bittersweet. "Only made the pain worse when the peanut gallery caused me to resign, and leave that particular Order."

The Jedi took a breath, and managed a smile. "But... Maybe it's good that I'm starting to realize. I'm still young... Somewhat. I've still got years to figure this out. Make up for what I've missed. Being a workaholic is good and all... But not when it consumes you, I've grown to learn."

He would nod then, when she said to go around and see... He would remain quiet from there for the time being as he walked with her, just... Listened and observed.

She llooked at him. "We are jedi, that doesn't mean we are not human or people as well. There is a great deal that is neglected and for those who want more they are happy to latch onto it. They are more then happy to give in to the darkside and accept their own personal pleasures at the cost of many other things." Matsu was walking and the talk about her children was well a little different. She thought about it when her attention went to the fun things. Leading the way through the Library towards the hanger. "My children though I was able to take the time but they also traveled with me. it gave a great amount of time when I needed to take care of them. Their mother was also an important one to have help in many cases." She clasped her hands behind her back with a small smirk on her face. She stopped in one of the rooms as holograms of different equipment and the planet below were brought up. We have been working on many more things, to give the jedi a place. We have been restoring dozen's of jedi temples across the galaxy."

"Shmi and I have... Talked about the possibility of starting a family. Knowing the sacrifices we'd have to make to do that" He would admit, letting out a breath. "I don't know if I'd call it giving into the dark side, or giving into pleasures, though... I feel as though all we'd be doing is just... Well, being people. Instead of things" He would add, letting out a breath.

"So you suggest bringing them with us, when we do travel, should we pursue this idea... That and having help?" He would inquire, curious as to how Matsu would react to all of this. And the advice she could offer, having been in this position herself. He'd of course listen as she talked about restoring the temples... And giving the Jedi a place.

She was looking at him and gave a small nod of her head. "It doesn't hurt, makes it easier on you as long as you have the proper nanny droids for when you are out of the ship and ships are a lot more modular as well as temperature regulated." Matsu kept working on some of the things until she wanted to work on more of it. Showing up some parts of the temples when she set some of the supplies to the side for them to use when going near the planet. "This world we are heading to is located in a large nebula that keeps it isolated and hidden from the system it is located in. COnsidered lost in many cases but we managed to find it through mostly luck. The force is concentrated on it in an underground river that flows like a tube through the planet. Getting stronger and stronger as they have been feeding force sensitive beings into it for hundreds of thousands of years."

"Nanny droids, huh? I guess we'll have to look at it then" He would respond, letting out a breath. At least Matsu was able to give sound advice considering she'd been in this position before. He knew that marrying, having a child... It was going to change a lot of things. But with the talks they'd had lately... He was ready, he hoped. He hoped anyway. Could anyone really be ready for a child, 100%? Probably not, really.

"What do you mean, feeding force sensitive beings into it?"

"When a jedi dies we burn the body and allow the ashes to scatter to the wind. On this world when the people die they were submerged in these force waters and the body returned to the source. They also give birth in the water itself so life and death are all a part of it. A cycle as it was in some cases of the force and as it goes it continues to rebound and become stronger and stronger. It makes their crops grow larger, makes their people live longer and they can heal with the waters." It was something very nice that she and Sorel had discovered. They had worked to find a great deal more on the planet itself where she thought about it and brought up parts of the world.

"Well, that's not morbid or anything" He would joke, as he would continue to listen on. Jedi-eating river, got it. Also Jedi-birthing water, also got it. It's apparent healing properties though... He would have to make a note of them for later, that was for sure.

"And how did you discover all of this?" He would inquire, deciding to let Matsu take over and tell the story as much as she liked. She did seem to enjoy telling them, so he really didn't mind encouraging them. They were more over the top then the stories he could tell, anyways.

She looked at him and spoke. "When me and my padawan Sorel discovered the world we observed a woman giving birth. At first we were uncertain of what was happening and then we realized what was happening and searched around. We found carvings that told us what was happening. When we were coming to meet them and discussed with them what had been happening they explained more of it as well as their society. They were a lot older then we thought and had chosen to just stay on the planet instead of travel around the galaxy. We met with some of their people, saw some temples and one of their main towns. Even got an idea of what their force order does and is like but we also learned they have some dangerous things on the world when night falls."

Welp, strap yourself in Josh, it's crazy story time from the Jedi Master who has apparently seen everything. Including the center of the Force. And a city crumbling after she destroyed it. But anyways... So old people, err, really old people, giving birth in the waters, and they'd been on the planet for a long, long time. And apparently they were a different force order entirely...

Interesting.

Though the night creatures piqued his interest. Perhaps he would travel there one day, to train... He did want to get better with a blade.

"You've seen many things and people" He would observe aloud. "What was their Force order like? The one that you mentioned?"
