A Day Gone Wrong

Vinten looked up to his bodyguard. "Yes, let's move quickly. I really don't want to get caught in this storm." Vinten then got up and quickly started running toward the ship, hoping to reach it before the worst part of the storm caught them.

It wasn't long before the sandstorm caught up. The ship was less than a mile away, the storm was just too quick and it had majorly slowed them down. The course sand and strong wind created a painful combination. Vinten had pulled his cloak up and over his head, trying to shield his face as he trudged through the sand.

091 held one arm up, blocking the sand from its sensors, the other holding tightly on the rifle, which had been dropped several times over earlier in their trek to the ship. It had no idea how close they were, seeing as it could not see more than five feet ahead. the droid cared little if the ship even worked, just so long as it would hide them from the storm.

Vinten kept trudging, his arm in front of his eyes. Since he couldn't see where he was going, he didn't realize how close he was when he crashed into the ship. "Blast!" he yelled as he collided with it and fell into the sand. He quickly picked himself up, and started trying to look around the ship, realizing it was an old Corellian freighter. "Let's see if we can find a way inside!" He said as he started looking around it, trying to find and access panel to open the ramp.

091 felt along the side of the ship, trying to find some change in the smooth metal. Eventually, it came to a small divot, where metal met metal. It slid its fingers along, finding it went little ways up, looped and went back down, like a door. It felt the sides and found a keypad.
"I think I found something!" It called.

Vinten trudged his way over and squinted trying to look at the keypad. He quickly started pressing buttons until he heard something shift, and then the ramp came down, and Vinten was quick to dash inside. "Yes! Thank all things holy!" As soon as he ran inside, he started coughing, the sand flying out of his mouth. Once he stopped coughing, and wiped the sand out of his eyes, he looked around. No lights were on, and everything seemed to be decrepit. Nothing was activated, and large portions of the walls were starting to rust. Vinten began scouring the ship, finding his way into the cockpit. Inside, he found two destroyed protocol droids. Both were decapitated, but their bodies were still sitting in the seats. A little more cautious, Vinten flipped one of the switches, turning on all of the lights in the ship. Vinten then slowly backed out of the cockpit, a little concerned about the dead droids.

"Sir, I believe this ship had not been here long, but the ship itself is old..." 091 said slowly, looking along the damaged and rusting interior. Other than the two pilots up in the front, nothing seemed to be out of place aboard the otherwise unassuming vehicle.

Vinten sat down on a crate in the corner, shaking out his cloak before he sat down. "I am not sure. It is possible that it hasn't been here long. We might as well rest here and wait out the storm. Do you know anything about mechanics?" Vinten felt his face, noticing the cuts from the coarse sand flying through the air. He sneered as he felt the cuts. His face was one of his benefits. He was attractive, and cuts all over it did not help him with persuading people, especially women.

"Negative, sir. I was programmed with stealth and combat in mind, not piloting." The droid explained, opening random doors that lead to closets, and one to a bedroom.

[member="Vinten Veers"]

"Unfortunate. Well, I am going to take a sleep. I don't know if you want to power down or anything, but if you do I will make sure I wake you in the morning." Vinten gets up off the crate and heads in to the bedroom. Inside was a small bed, with a table sitting next to it. On top of the table was an old holopad, the screen cracked and the pad rusty. Vinten laid down on the bed, and was quickly asleep.

091 watched the door close and then turned to the cockpit. It walked over, looking over the console. It pushed a button, the door to the outside closing. It hit another, ensuring it was locked from the inside. 091 sat in one of the passenger seats, shutting down.

[member="Vinten Veers"]

Vinten awoke to the sound of the exterior door opening. Not knowing if it was [member="CD - 091-BB"] or not, Vinten got up and slowly walked out of the bedroom. The door was open, and Vinten could see two Weequay's standing on the bottom of the ramp. Worried, Vinten quickly ran to the cockpit, where he found his droid. He quickly powered him on. "Quick quick! We need to get out of here!" He whispered. "There are pirates at the exit and there might be some others somewhere else on the ship." Vinten looked out the doorway and saw two more walking around, looking for the two of them. "They must've been the ones who killed the protocol droids."

Vinten wasn't a fighter, but he could tell that there were at least four pirates here, and he was sure there were more. He had no idea if there were more on board or not, but he could bet there was more outside. He thought the two of them could handle the four, but more than that would be a bit of a stretch.

"Be quiet! They might have......"

"What was that?" a voice came from outside of the cockpit.

"Blast" Vinten muttered. "Look [member="CD - 091-BB"], can you just kill them so we can get out of here?" Vinten reached into his cloak and pulled out his small pistol. He knelt down and looked out the door, spotting three pirates headed their way, weapons raised.

Vinten, not knowing how the droid worked, started hitting it with his pistol. "Come on you blasted droid, wake up!"

"Hey you!" The voice came from behind Vinten.

Vinten sneered, and then turned around, seeing the three pirates, all with their guns aimed at him. "Gentlemen! What seems to be the problem?"

"Come with us!" The middle Weequay orders. He motions with his blaster for Vinten to walk. Vinten walked out of the door of the cockpit, defeated. They forced him out and down the ramp. It was day now, and the sandstorm had passed. Once Vinten got outside, he was actually glad that [member="CD - 091-BB"] hadn't woken up. There had to have been at least 20 pirates outside, all with speeder bikes. If the droid had woken up, he would have tried to fight back and gotten both of them killed.

As Vinten was looking around, one Weequay in some form of gold colored robes walked up to him. "Hey, you! What are you doing out here!?"

Vinten, thought for a second, trying to decide if he should lie or not. "My ship was attacked and we........ I mean I crash landed here!" Vinten attempted to hide the fact that he had a droid with him. If the droid somehow managed to not get found and then was reactivated, it might manage to save him.

"Were you on that crashed shuttle?"

Vinten nodded "Yes yes! I was on board, when three pirates bombed the thing!" Vinten didn't want them to know that his droid had stopped the hijacking, which led to the crash.

"So, you mean my men bombed the shuttle? I don't believe you!" The pirate smacked Vinten across the face, hard. Vinten, knocked out collapsed on the floor. "Put him on one of your speeders. We will take him back to base!"

"Error 505. Error--" The droid jerked back, ramming its head into the wall. It fell forwards, into the control panel. A spark flew from one of its eyes, then they flickered on.
"Reboot sucessful." It shot up, grabbing its rifle.
"Sir, priates-- Oh." Two pirates stood in the passenger bay, looking over a few things found udner the seat.
"What the... a droid?!" One of them said in his gruff voice. He grabbed his blaster holding it up to the droid. The other gave a chuckle, raising his.
"Must of come in with that downed ship, followed the guy we found here, how much you reckon its worth?"
"Looks like one of them old Confederate droids, worth a lot I bet!"
They didn't have long to think on how much the droid was worth, though, as 091 leapt into action. It threw its rifle into the arms of one of the pilots, who shouted in surprise. As the other looked at his companion, 091 leapt forwards, kicking his gun up. The pirate pulled the trigger, the blaster bolt rochotching into the cockpit. 091 rammed the pirate with its shoudler, knocking the man tot he ground. The perceded to kick the other in the face, smashing his nose. Using the other foot, it flipped, kicking the back of his head and killing him. The first, the one on the ground, was panting, fear in his eyes.
"Wait, wait! I'll.... I'll do anything!" He pleaded, scooting away from 091. The droid picked up the blaster pistol, following after the pirate at a slow walk.
"Where did they take the man?" 091 growled, somehow putting inflexion in its voice.
"I- Our base, about 10 miles north-west of here!"
"I- Out base, about 10 miles north-west of here!" The Commando Droid said in an almost exact copy of the pirate voice.
"I thank you for your time." It said, still copying his voice. It walked past him, leveling the blaster at his face and pulling the trigger. It then took his transmiter, unsure if it might need it.
091 walked down the ramp and hopped onto one of the two swoop bikes sitting there. It revved the engine slightly, and then took off in the direction the pirate said.

Vinten woke up, cuffed, and tied to the wall. He had a shock collar around his neck, and his dagger and pistol were gone. He looked around to see where he was. From what he could tell, it looked like a warehouse. Crates and boxes were everywhere. The entire warehouse floor was covered with Weequays and other creatures walking around. The boss must have noticed Vinten wake up, because he came over. "So, are you enjoying your new bed?"

"Who are you? Where am I?" Vinten coughed.

"I suppose I have been fairly rude. I am Raxan Otak. This, is my gang, the Otak gang! Who might you be?"

Vinten coughed and rolled his eyes. "Nobody of importance."

"Nobody of importance ey? Those clothes look awfully expensive. I would certainly say you have some wealth or power, am I right?"

Vinten just groaned as he looked down at the floor. He was hoping that [member="CD - 091-BB"] would reboot and be on his way. But there were a lot of pirates, and the one droid may not be enough.

"Tell me, or I will begin cutting off your fingers!" Otak pulled out Vinten's dagger, and held it to his left ring finger.

"My name is Vinten Veers. I am a businessman and the newly appointed Warden of Csilla? Is that good enough for you?"

"All I needed to hear." Otak stepped back and walked away, headed for a drink.

091 stopped little ways from the base, spotting heavily guarded gates. It pulled down its micro binos when the communicator went off.
"Volk, do you copy?" 091 took up the communicator, quickly changing its voice.
"I read you."
"Where are you?! You're missing the fun, everyone's in the cantina, we're messing with the prisoners from the crashed ship!" The droid decided that it had its moment, and knew what to do.
"I'm on my way." It deactivated the communicator, throwing it aside. The droid drove to one of the walls, abandoning the bike. It scaled the wall quickly, landing inside. There was only one guard outside, a man passed out in a watch tower. 091 drew something it had looted from the bikes, detonators. It attached one to the leg of the tower, then went into the building.

[member="Vinten Veers"]

Vinten stared down at the floor as he listened to all the pirates cracking jokes and laughing. With his luck, he could be stuck here forever, doomed to be a decorative piece on the wall. Then he could the the boot of the captain, and he lifted his head to look at him. "Yes?"

"The men and I were wondering, who would pay the most for you?" Raxan rubbed his fingers together, trying to show he wanted profit.

"Probably not many people. I tend to piss off everyone I come into contact with." Vinten smirked and then looked back down. "Just like I am pissing you off."

Raxan growled and backed away, looking for the shock collar remote.

[member="CD - 091-BB"]

091 ran through the halls, past pirate guards and other criminals scattered about. It avoided combat, setting bombs along the way. It came to the room containing [member="Vinten Veers"], crouching down. It peeked in, watching from afar. All of the guards and people inside were focused on Vinten. It went back around to its side of the wall, getting into cover, hidden from the door's view. It pulled out the detonator for the watch tower bomb, pushing the charge.

An earth shattering explosion shook the compound as the watch tower collapsed.
