A Day Gone Wrong

Vinten saw Raxan return with the remote in his hand. "It's time to talk!"

Vinten groaned, preparing to speak. But then, it almost felt like an earthquake. A large explosion, along with a collapsing tower sent the entire warehouse into disarray. The entire warehouse practically emptied as pirates ran outside to see what happened, leaving Raxan and two other pirates. "Looks like you will have to get information from me later." Vinten smirked, figuring that [member="CD - 091-BB"] had come to rescue him.

091 pressed closer to the wall, waiting out the crowd. Once they had passed, it peaked out again to see how many it had left. Much to its disappointment, three still remained. It pulled its looted blast pistol out, leveling it at the first of the group. After a moment of concentration, it fired a spray of three rounds.

[member="Vinten Veers"]

Vinten watched the laser blasts fly in. It caught one of the pirates right in the head, dropping him instantly. The second was only grazed in the knee by the blast, and Raxan was unfazed. Vinten looked to where the blasts came from, and saw [member="CD - 091-BB"] with his blaster aimed. Vinten smirked, and looked to the entrance, hoping no other pirates would enter.

"Where did that come from!?" The one pirate yelled.

"Over there! Go kill him!" Raxan ordered, his obvious anger shining through.

091 did a somersault to the right, evading incoming blaster fire. It dove low, evading another from the pirate leader. Within moments, it was on top of the other pirate, who was frantically trying to keep the droid in his sights. one moment, he was looking at the droid, then the next, he was looking at his boss. He found this rather curious, how did--

He then died. The Pirate leader frantically fired round after round at his fallen comrade in an attempt to his 091, but this proved futile.

[member="Vinten Veers"]

Vinten had a huge smile on his face. Raxan was the only pirate left, and [member="CD - 091-BB"] was skilled. Vinten hoped that Raxan would be beaten, but he figured he would try to distract him just to better the chances. "Guess you weren't expecting to be beaten by a confederate droid from the Clone Wars were you!?"

"Shut up you!" Raxan turned to Vinten, "After I kill the droid I am killing you!"

This moment of losing focus would cost him dearly. 091 threw the dead pirate aside, flying across the room like a blur. It brought its knee to the man's stomach, making him double over. It then brought its fists down on his back, knocking him to the ground, and giving off the sickening sound of bones cracking. For good measure, 091 fired its pistol into him.
"Hostile eliminated, sir." It droned as if this had been nothing more than handing in paperwork at the end of the work day.

[member="Vinten Veers"]

Vinten's smirk turned into a huge smile, and then an uncontrollable laugh, even somewhat evil. "Yes! Great work [member="CD - 091-BB"]! I knew you were a great investment!" He paused for a moment, looking around to see if there were any pirates coming. "Now.....get me out of this absurd predicament!" Vinten was so excited to get out of his binds. All they needed to do now was find a pirate ship and use it to get off world. With any luck they could be at Felucia in a few hours.

His eyes were blue. Not the ordinary sky blue, or the colour of the paint flaking off of the old shed in the back of the field, or even the little flowers that spring up by the side of the road. His eyes were blue like the sea, crystal clear blue- shimmering and crashing and churning. Looking into his eyes you could hear the waves falling against the shore, see the foam flying into the air. His eyes were blue like the sky right before the sun disappears- dark rich indigo, with specks of wild colours here and there. His eyes were blue like that warm wool sweater that you put on when the air gets that chill- comfortable, warm, familiar. His eyes were that kind of blue even in this arid backwater planet, his eyes could still imitate the lush seas of Naboo.

Logen looked on with his blue hues, attention to the pirates scrambling about with some commotion going on in their base. Such didn’t really matter to the old smuggler, unless it was going to ruin his payday. He looked over to the dock master, who was still taking inventory of the cargo they had delivered. The Weequay didn’t seem affected by the commotion, that eased the Corellian a bit. Though, he did wish the pirates would hurry up with the unloading so he could get out of this fekking dust bowl.

“Alex!” His low gravelly voice would whisp into his wrist comms. “Seems we may have some color happenin. Gonna need ya to start pre flight check and get ready to fly us on out of 'ere!”

He would physically look up to the massive viewports of the Lady Liberty above him, where Alex should be. The smuggler lucked out in getting a pilot of her caliber to join him on this enterprise. Not often one gets a Rogue Squadron jockey to take the yoke of a bulk freighter.

"Roger, roger." 091 walked behind its owner, breaking the binders with its hands. Upon doing this, it picked up its rifle, and blasted the control panel, closing the main entry door.
"I calculate we have, roughly, two minutes for the pirates to get in here. I recommend we move as soon as possible." It droned, looking for a ventilation shaft, deciding that the doors would only be used as a last resort.

[member="Vinten Veers"]

Vinten got stretched instantly and started rubbing his wrists, hoping to relieve some of the pain from the binders. He quickly dashed over to the dead pirate captain, taking the shock collar remote and deactivating it. He quickly removed it from his neck and threw it on the ground. Next he grabbed his vibrodagger and pistol off of the captain's corpse, stopping a moment to mock his dead body. "Foolish pirate! Thought you could stop me!"

Vinten then looked to [member="CD - 091-BB"]. "Perhaps we should try the back exit. I thought I could hear ships landing and leaving back there. Perhaps we could find one we could take!" Vinten was quick to head for the door. He wanted to get off of this accursed planet and get to Felucia. The lush planet would be a nice change of pace, and it would be somewhere Vinten would feel safe. Sriluur was crawling with pirates, and action wasn't exactly his forte.

[member="Logen Brunner"]

091 followed suit, rifle leveled on their back. No sound came, meaning the pirates were yet to arrive at the locked door. It followed its master through the catacombs, and if a droid could feel paranoia, then it would be setting in.

In a base like this, pirates wouldn't all flock to one place, so either there were far fewer pirates than 091 gave them credit for, or they were about to walk into a giant mosh pit of hostiles.

Or, they were just idiots, which was never fully off the table of answers.

[member="Vinten Veers"]

Vinten crept to the back door, staying on one side of it. How on earth none of the pirates heard the commotion inside he didn't know. They must've been far too interested in the tower that had collapsed outside. However, just by barely peeking outside, Vinten could see several pirates outside, some of which were talking to beings of other species. Freighters were parked outside with droids carrying large crates aboard, and taking cargo off. It was obvious that the pirates were buying and selling things, he just wasn't sure what. And currently, he didn't really care. He cared about getting on with his own business ventures, not the ventures of these cretins.

10. Vinten could count ten pirates outside, three droids loading cargo, and 4 potential buyers of different races. Vinten was in no way convinced that him and [member="CD - 091-BB"] alone could take them on. There were just too many outside. Vinten turned back to his droid and whispered, "There are quite a few pirates out there, but there are also ships. If we could sneak behind the stacks of crates and boxes, we might be able to get through unnoticed. You go first, and I will sneak right behind you."

[member="Logen Brunner"]

"I have accounted for all variables, sir." It pulled off the detonator to the bombs it had set earlier, holding it out to [member="Vinten Veers"]. It was small, and unassuming, being stolen from one of the dead pirates. The bombs were wirelessly connected to several charges within the base. They would probably kill very few, but a massive explosion would definitely distract everyone.

091 knew full well that this could backfire, drawing more enemies out, but the outcome was well worth the risk. Trying to escape in one of the pirate freighters would be very difficult, especially if the pirates had any fighters.

Not expecting the brash move, Vinten quickly ran away from the door, and watched the pirates from outside go rushing inside the warehouse, straight past them. Fortunately Vinten and [member="CD - 091-BB"] were able to avoid their gaze and hide. As soon as they all ran passed, Vinten turned to his droid. "Okay, I was expecting that. It's time to go!" Vinten took off out the door and ran as quick as he could toward the nearest ship. He did however see multiple pirates out of the corner of his eye, all of them aiming blasters at him.

He felt the first blast fly by, just barely missing his face. The second blast hit the dirt in front of him and the third hit a crate behind him. Vinten quickly ran for the stack of crates, jumping on top and over them, landing on his chest behind them. "Blast!" he groaned as he picked himself up and peered out around the crates. Three pirates were coming his way and the way to the ships was now blocked by the cargo droids. What Vinten didn't realize though was that they weren't simply cargo droids, they were LR-57 combat droids. "What i'd give to be a Jedi!"

091 easily evaded the blast bolts, flipping over its master's cover, and landing next to him. It peeked over its cover, watching the massive droids.

"Sir, I did not account for battle droids, I recommend a tactical diversion by way of explosives, an exploding ship, and running like hell." The droid droned, indicating the barrels of fluid. They were marked with skulls and crossbones, reading gasoline, handle with care. A shuttle sat near the LRs, still open. The barrels would have to be moved to the shuttle, not get shot till they were in position, and one would have t be able to take a shot under constant fire.

Hope is the elixir of life. (semi-retired)
Russo was in her happy place. No not the fresher, that was [member="Logen Brunner"]'s, and the Taanabian was so glad she had her own too in the Mate's Cabin. The pilot-for-hire swore something had crawled up inside that ol' Corellian and died. Yeah, it was that bad at times, and in space and closed quarters it was hard to filter it out quick enough.

No the former Rogue was happiest when working in and around a snubfighter, and that was what Alexandra or Alex for short was doing while the Captain saw to the unloading of their cargo. The Gallofree Yards Maka-Eekai L4000 transport that Brunner owned had four cargo holds spread over three levels. On the top deck of the Lady Liberty in the forward compartment known as Cargo A, there was room for "Alleycat's" X-wing with a hull hatch to accommodate it.

One of the perks of being on the payroll at Incom as an aeronautical consultant slash test pilot was you got to pick up older models of space craft for next to nothing. The retired Commander had refurbished and heavily modified a T-65 X-wing. She had been tinkering with it when her matching wrist comm came to life.

"Color, huh? You shouldn't have, Captain. Black and white would have been just fine," Alex quipped lightly. "Roger that. Give me ten. You know how crotchety the old lady gets when rushed," the brandy-eyed brunette added, then quickly closed up the starboard engine's access panel she was working in and made her way down to the cockpit on the center deck.

Vinten's face was stinging from his fall flat on his face. He had sand in his eyes and his wrists still hurt from being bound earlier. Not to mention that he was being shot at from two sides and that the only way to a ship was blocked by three huge droids with massive guns. He shot around the stack of crates a few times with his pistol, but he wasn't exactly a good shot and all of the blasts missed. The pirates weren't the issue, it was the droids. They were the only thing between him and the ships he needs to escape.

He listened to [member="CD - 091-BB"]'s proposition, but he wasn't so sure. He knew he wouldn't be able to get over to the barrels of fuel and move them without getting killed, but he also wasn't so sure his droid could either. The group of pirates would need to be thinned before anyone could get to the barrels, move them, and then have them blown up without taking any casualties. The droid was Vinten's only protection and after today, he was convinced he would need more. "If we could blow those barrels up, how helpful do you think it would be? The droids might not be distracted and they are the things in my way."

Vinten was starting to hate the action, and he was remembering why he wanted to rule planets, not fight to take them.

"Black..... and..... white...." He mumbled under his breath as he continued to hear violence off in the distance. "Listen darlin! Crotchety was my mother.... this is something far worse. More like a big gal that had been on a diet all week, got her monthly and found out ya cheated on her with some young zeltron. That kind of disaster has no name for it!" He replied back to his pilot " With that in mind, take your time firing her up!"

Logen refocused on the Weequay dock master " Hey friend, if you don't mind getting your lads to hustle a bit, i wouldn't mind getting paid sometime this year!"

The corllian's sarcasm was noted and the only physical reaction he got from the weequay was a stone wall glare "Whats wrong captain? Little blush around blaster fire?"

Logen gave the dock master a wolfish grin, his right hand itched to grip for his DL 44 heavy blaster to show how blush he was with violence. But shooting one's customer was never a good way to earn credits. " No Lark! I just don't want your problems to be my problems. Bad for business-n-all!"

"Don't worry captain, we are almost done here!" He pointed to a lift heading up the ramp. " That there should be the last of it to come out. Then you can have your pay and take off!"

Logen nodded in agreement, he turned and doddled off a few feet to over-watch the procession of laborers taking care of the cargo. The security thugs looked a bit nervous as they held their position. Nothing can't just be boring, he thought to himself as he could not help feel anxious.

you know when you land? go t a planet to drop off some supplies and items that were ordered and suddenly a fight breaks out? for stardust seemed like a normal day

she quickly ducked and had her men go and fly off immediatly the heavily armed force user brought her sabers out, she scanned the area as she looked around, she spotted the droids attacking a bunch of people behind a container

she inhaled then out as she rushed between them as she started blocking the bolts some going back others in random directions

"you know droids arent hard to kill!"

she said loudly before jumping over the boxes and landed on the other side with [member="Vinten Veers"] [member="CD - 091-BB"]

091 ducked out from cover, firing a sniper round, taking down a droid. It went back, turning its attention to its commander. The man was looking worse for wear, but still had some fight left in him.

"Sir, we must move now, unless there is an alternative, we most act now!" It got ready to jump out when something.... extraordinary happened. A figure appeared out of virtually nowhere, yelling something it did not understand. The figure was a woman, standing atop the crates, holding a lightsaber.
