Act III: Insurrection

@[member="Ket Van Derveld"] melted ethereally into the shadows around him, and Alen felt nothing but rage. A hollow victory ... he would have much preferred to see the Sith Master dead at his feet. Rebel scum, attempting to subvert the will of Akala. They had to be purified. Purified through the fires of hell itself, where Sith Masters were nothing in the presence of gods. It was pure rage he felt now. It seemed like it was seeping out of his reddish eyes, such was its power that it could not be contained by his body. Na'Varro raised one beautiful, savage fist, shaking it at the shadows.

"COWARD!!" He raged violently. Just as the duel was swinging irreversibly in his favour, his opponent had fled. He would not subvert justice again, the Dark Jedi Master swore it. Solemnly, and with deeper meaning. Then he turned with regret, looking to for someone else to fight. In the distance, he saw one of his brethren, a Kursed Master, surrounded by weaker Jedi. Some he might have recognised, but in his current state he could not even see faces. Just Force auras and corporeal masses of molecules ... that was all. Na'Varro began stalking towards them, his signature reverberating with dark power.

"All this mewling is ... pathetic." The Dark Jedi Master summoned up his power and unleashed a Force Push of his own from his balled right fist, aimed at the crowd of Jedi in his way. "Submit to the will of Akala or you will perish."

His head was inclined to her. She was right in a way, though it was her friends that would be put in danger for her decision. It must have been the right one, she didn't feel guilty he thought. And then Kara had led them over to, @[member="Melantha"] and he waited for her to finish talking, and then waited for, @[member="Kara Avoyos"], to stop talking before he added, "I'd have you know there are other allies out there who can help us if we get them to this Sanctuary. Numbers are paramount in this case." He said, and with a glance to look at Kara with a nod, he turned his head back and said, "they are quality warriors too." He didn't really know that but he would lie if he had to save people. Even if he didn't know them.

Rebels--Warehouse on the surface...sorta

The man really did seem to want to help. For half a second, Calico let his guard down, and waved the man on over. "Alright, come on inside Let's get your sorted ou-" IT was at that very moment, that Galaar began spouting obscenities--weapons fire cracked the stillness of the area around them-- bolts of energy from every color in the rainbow flew through the dusty air.

Calico did the natural thing. He dove back into the warehouse and set his weight up against one of the adjacent walls. Bolts of energy sizzled past him, but none made contact--though he doubted the flimsy wall he was using made for good cover. "Spread out, give them multiple targets!" He ordered into the CIS channel--and by extension, that of the two Jedi as well.

He couldn't take the moment to turn and look at his comrades; the battle demanded full attention. Calico shifted between overturned furniture and rubble as he fired short streams of azure laser-fire at the assaulting force. Their men were taking quite a bit of peppering fire to go down--must have been the beskar.

Hope that crater-making man can actually fight.

As the enemies fell in steaming heaps; things started to look up. Then, the Mandalorian wielding a repeater strode in shrugging off bullets and energy pulses in a way that reminded Calico of firing a water gun at the side of a durasteel wall. Odd memory to bring up at the moment. "Draw him outside, then we w-" Galaar cut him off mid-sentence. "Wh- brace!"

The explosion was far more violent than it should have been. The attacker lay in multiple eviscerated pieces among the pieces of scrap and rubble kicked up from the blast.

Okay...now we can start moving.

Calico stood up to give the order for a tactical retreat, and froze as he caught a familiar shape in the corner of his eye. Bluejay. Then, the floor gave way, loud and angry. The surface Calico had been using became nothing but air, and he was falling. Rubble and ash fell with him, obscuring his vision as he plummeted down with Galaar, and whomever else was pulled down by the blast.

"Karking...gah!"

The soldier hit a rocky surface after only about a second of falling and rolled across the ground. He tried to spring up to his feet but his balance was off from the fall--resulting in a very clumsy stumble into a nearby wall. Solid rock. Had he heard blaster shots on the way down?

"Gah...report people."

New Hole In The Ground - KURSED

Okay. That had been an exceedingly stupid idea. Yes, run into the exploding building, Bluejay. WHAT THE KARK COULD POSSIBLY HAPPEN? Moronic.

And thank the Force for walls. More accurately, thank the Force for windows, because otherwise Bluejay would have plummeted with the rest of them. Bad. Now, she got to hang from the ledge of a window. Or...well, something. It may well by a hole in the - yes, it was in fact a hole about a quarter of the way down the hole. Hastily, she grabbed on with her other hand and scrambled into the measly shelter. Better than nothing. She decided, reaching for her pistol. Then Calico spoke up. "Gah...report, people." Bluejay had to bite her tongue to keep from responding.Now...let's see, Calico, you're next. Shut up or I might just go insane.

Dang Galaar. Why the hell would you do that? After the firefight Canal and his party went down through a big crater after Galaar made the whole thing explode. He stumbled down and made sure that his effects were still with him. Good now to regroup

Then all of sudden he saw Jay pointing a gun at them. Oh, heck no. Glad she isn't pointing that thing at me. He took our his pistol and shot three times at her surprise, traitor.

Vulpesen listened to @[member="TiCira D'Arr Hawk"] and sighed as he realized where he was needed. "Very well. I may not be the strongest, but in all my years, I have yet to find anything I actually feared. Thus, I believe Phobos might be my main target." His mind was naturally barricaded against such tricks, a product of its elusive and tricky nature. It was one of the special good things about being on the verge of insanity. He didn't care if he ended up snapping, he'd done it before, all he cared about was whether or not to stayed on his path. After all, that spark of insanity sometimes led to his best moments.

Calling Ace to his shoulder, Vulpesen started to check his lightsaber for any flaws. "So, this leave me with one nagging question." His eyes lifted up to the leaders of the rebellion. "When do we begin?" His serious nature was starting to fade and he now had a roguish grin as he awaited orders. Things were about to get really messy and he was prepared for hell to start crashing down around him. After all, that was his job, to go through hell to work for good.

Well she took that comm fairly quickly, both hands cupping the small black box as she brought it to her mouth.

"Hey?!! You okay?" she asked @[member="Commander Calico CC-247"]. However, the feedback she received did not settle her nerves. Nervousness shot down her spine like ice shards, and the Lorrdian's concern and anxiety was expressing itself not only in her words, but her body language as well. For a skilled kinetic, they would be able to read every twitch of her face, jaw, and eye movements that asked a million questions a second.

Shuffling on her feet, she gave a half turn, facing the entrance of the Sanctuary, where another dark familiar face came into her sights. "Windu!" she cried out in relief, her fingers rising from the come in a quick motion of hello, the faint crack of her smile and the arch of eyebrow relaying what signified relief at seeing him safe.

That's when she caught the small bit of briefing of just what and who they were up against. The comm came back up to her lips again, and she attempted to make contact with the CIS Commander once more, her voice a bit shaky and low. "Calico... please tell me you are okay...."

Rebels - In the tunnels, finally

Everything blurred as Galaar plummeted into the darkness- next to him he saw his strill who fallen too, gliding down safely to the tunnel floor and then skittering into the distance. It was the first time in his life that everything felt so peaceful, so serene, even the blaster bolts which pierced his helmet ten feet above him in the darkness was a release in its own way. The Commando closed his eyes and took it all in, hoping it would last forever, but it wouldn't...

With a sudden thud and crack he'd hit the ground below with a solid crashing noise, pain radiated through his body with throbbing pulses. He gave a gargling wheezing gasp and rolled onto his side. His armor had taken most of the blunt force luckily enough, didn't stop the pain though. A couple seconds later his helmet hit the ground a little over from him, its typically blue-visor gone with a smoking hole through it. It was a good thing he wasn't wearing it when he fell though its systems were entirely offline at the current moment, making him seem dead to the world.

Calico would likely note that the tunnel around them was completely black with no enemies in sight and no Galaar either, but the scent of the strill was ever present.

Rebels--Tunnels, or something like that.

Oh wow, that hurts.

Calico turned and pressed his back against the ridged wall. He could see nothing other than his HUD icons, and Galaar's vitals had spiked, then dropped completely. No, no, that couldn't be right. A shock of panic creeped up the Commander's spine; it took quite a bit of self-control to keep from yelling. He cast his gaze upward and could just barely see the faint glimmer of light from where they had fallen. That had to be about thirty feet...who else had fallen with him?

He reached up to click on his Tac-lamp: emitting an eerie pale glow far down the tunnels. He could hear movement somewhere deep down, movement, the clatter of metal on rock. That was a sign of life, at the very least. Now wasn't the moment for moving on though.

Calico tilted his head east, then west. The lamp's light illuminated the Strill and gave it's beady eyes a demonic look, and then rested over the shambled form of Galaar. "I'm going to have to teach you how to use ordnance, yeah?" He grumbled, ignoring the sore spots that were now all over his body. Armor or no armor, falls still hurt.

He took four long strides over to his brother and offered a hand. "Busted your bucket, eh? Can't ever trust you with new toys either. We need to find everyone, then head for the source of that sound." Where was that Imperial Knight? Better yet, how would those Templars link up with them now? He supposed they could jump.

Then, a familiar voice crackled in his helmet. It calmed him, and set the panic aside for a moment. "It's alright Kira. I'm alive." He sighed with genuine relief. He wanted to make sure this Jedi was okay; she was one of his people now. That, and he realized she had a way about setting him at ease when he was stressed. "Had an issue with explosives in close quarters. Galaar and I went cave diving. Really fun sport."

He made a conscious effort to switch on his personal transcriber. If anyone was looking for him--particularly the Templars that were en route-- they could find him rather easily.

Galaar's eyes dilated as Calico's light shined down on him. His head turning in the direction of the strill's head and then he heard Calico speak. He grumbled lowly, hoping Bluejay had either left or was distracted at this point. His eyes shifting around the darkness as he grabbed his rifle and took Calico's hand to be pulled onto his feet. He was still wheezing whenever he breathed. He instantly began looking around the for the Imperial Knight. "Vo'ika... We need to get moving."

Meanwhile his strill was already skittering down one particular tunnel with some kind of purpose, Galaar watched and grinned. "Its a good thing the bucket's broke, else Bluejay would have introduced my brain to atmosphere. Now... lets go find a tap-caf."

Time to get steady, people actually depended on you. Unlike the Empire that barked orders into your comm every fething 10 minutes. Those guys could all go rot in a Sarlaac pit. Zius rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck, letting out a sigh of preparation as he began to walk away from the entrance of the tunnels towards Calico's position, tapping into the public comm channel for all to receive.

"Aurus here, heading out on my own to assist the commander. If you want to join in, be my guest. If you want to stick with your little tea party and hide in your tunnels, go feth yourself. Templar out."

He flicked the activation of his crimson lightsaber once again; the curved hilt felt natural in his palm almost like a true extension of his own self. A weapon used fluidly to destroy the foes that lay in the wake of any Force user, but an even more cruel extension when put in the hands of a murderer. Zius embraced this notion, accepting that he killed for enjoyment and not only for a just cause. This was truly him, and he had finally grasped it and would make it his own tool.

"Hold out for as long as you can, Calico. I'm coming."

And so the Dark Jedi made his way towards his comrade of war. Never to care of the mortality rate of the situation, or his own life, he'd take down whatever and whoever with him if it were to be that way.

He needed to keep his wits about himself. That was the trick here. Marek wasn’t a stranger to being alone, but he needed someone here. What was going on? He still had yet to figure all that out. He knew he was on Mandalore, and he had heard the Clone Commander over the CIS channel. Still, no Templar? He knew someone was nearby, even if his outbound wasn’t working right.

And that’s when he heard it, the nearby explosion. Right, most people would run away, but not Marek. Nope, he was thinking that where there were explosions, there was a conflict, and with conflict? Answers. Well, that was his thinking at least. Slugthrower at the ready, he entered the blast zone. “Hello?” Right, because calling out like that was going to help your case, Starchaser.

“Clones?” Right, that was going to be well. He kept his ears open and reached out with the Force. What the frell happened?

Sanctuary - Underground HQ

Spencer had been following for some time now, keeping herself hidden from the others. Looking around, she finally had left them and smiled softly. This was where she came in handy and with a soft hand she waved calling the attention of one of her relatives. The girl hadn't aged much, she had shifted almost exclusively to the light-side and considered herself more of a Jedi now than ever before. Her clothing ragged as it was obvious she had been in hiding for some time on the streets of Mandalore. She wasn't the current woman, who was at home probably sleeping and catching up with her holo-dramas - this was the Spencer 20 years on the future. Wisdom had set in and she finally broke the silence. "My apologies for interrupting your plans. Phobos won't be too much of a problem. I can battle meditate from within these walls protecting the minds of the rebellion. Kaa and his sons need to be destroyed we are all that is left..."

There was a sadness in her eyes as she spoke her final words, something troubled her, but she remained silent on it. A smile crossed her face and she nodded towards Ti'Cira. "Its been some time hasn't it?"

Rebels: near Commander Calico's position

Kallion had no luck finding anyone, not yet anyway, even though he heard numerous blaster shots he never saw another being "and I don't know where I am eith- actually I do know where I am, I'm in a tunnel" he looked around, he thought he heard some movement or at least some life down here. He creeped further into the tunnel, removing his pulse cannon from his shoulder and aiming it around the corner. First he saw some light that made him cringe, then he saw a man he knew, or at least had met, then he saw another one just like him 'must be the dread guard' Kallion felt relived, he had finally found someone, someone he knew add that "nice to see you again." Kallion joked while stepping from around the corner while shouldering his pulse cannon, hopefully the man would recognize his armor and not shoot him.

"By the Manda it's the girl from Elrood." Ordo said in disbelief. He had learned he was force sensitive that day she had gathered the storm. He didn't say anythong else. Time and unforeseen occurrence had taken hold of life and he had never really tried to find out what the force could do, but it was there. Finally he closed his eyes and noticed what was wrong. He had been feeling empty, broken, and lost. He couldn't feel Rianna...he didn't feel she was dead or alive...it was just like the bond was dissipated. He wasn't a genius and he didn't care to be but it didn't take one to put two and two together. Last thing he remembered was the peace ball and then the rest was fuzzy or gone.

"When did I die?" He said to the kid they kept calling Mand'alor, "never fethin mind. We got work to do."

He pushed passed a trooper with a pat on the shoulder and began picking gear. Clips of rounds for his Ripper and an extra were a good start. One rocket launcher strapped to his back to sit as easily as possible over his jetpack. He would get two shots the rest the main group would likely need.

He checked his belt for his datapad and pulled it out. He began typing out a message.

~Dearest @[member="Rianna Organa"],

Ner ka'rta, how I miss you. One last time it seems I will be going to war. I don't know if you'll get this but I have to say something very important. Ni kar'tayl gar darasuum, with all that I am I love you, ner runi. If I don't find you, always remember those words. If I survive and, my dearest riduur, this time that may not be the case, I promise I will search for you, as you know better than anyone. I love you, cyar'ika.

Forever you live in my heart,

Jasper Ar'klim, your Ordo~

He lifted his chin pushed send and tucked yhe data pad away. He took off his lightsaber and checked the power cell and clipped it back to his belt with the twin ripers and beskad. He checked the gear again picked up an old gladiator and went to stand by the exit without a word.

He stuffed his blood crusted buy'ce back on. His broad shoulders back and back striaght as his emotions slipped away. Years of training made it easy. He just disconnected from his emotions and fell into Ramikad'yc, commando mind set. All that mattered now to Ordo was taking the fight to the enemy.

Rebels - In the CIS Super Fun House

At first Voroll let the clone, who he had come to know as Canal, go fight whoever had shot at him. He did know the clone, nor did he have any concerns for his welfare; it was stupid to go attack someone with just a pistol when an array of weapons lay within reach. However, their... Captain? Major? Commander? Ordered him against such things, so they slunk into the house.

Then came a distant noise that resembled an artillery shell creating a creator not far from their position. Cover. He frantically searched for cover to shield himself from the possible fallout of future bombardments. It was in that moment he found a pair of walls that did not stick out much from the rest of the wall of the Super Fun House. He nestled himself between them - fitting just perfectly between them. In a past time it may have been decent space to store objects prone to unbalance, or stacks of things like music chips in boxes or some other things. That may have been in a distant world long gone.

In that minute or so of confusion, numerous hostiles clad in Mandalorian armour burst through an opening and rained blaster bolts into the shack only to be met by bolts of blue from every direction. When they had been felled by the clones and Voroll, a bruiser of a Mandalorian holding a rotarty blaster fired across the floor, probably leading to its eventual collapse. Which of course did happen when the thermal detonator shredded him to pieces, along with the now-weakened flooring. Dust and smoke rose from hole and a stray bolt of flew past Voroll's hazed vision. When it had cleared enough to see the other side of the room both @[member="Galaar CC-252"] and @[member="Commander Calico CC-247"] were gone.
"Karp!" He murmured, unsure of the current situation.

Rebels in the tunnels.

Canal rushed to catch up with his party. Event though he had armor on it still hurt but with those injuries it made him, better, stronger, etc. He once again checked if he has his equipment and if they were still functional he still had full ammo for both his shotgun and rifle but he was losing ammo for his pistol. Only two cartridges left.

"Are we close to the others, sir?" Canal asked Calico cause he wanted to get over with this. Well at the end after all of this hars work we all get something better. I'll be happy if I just get a promotion, just that. He covered their back with his pistol and made sure that no hostiles were in bound.

Before any discussion could be had, given the eerie silence of his brother, Jhaega found himself interrupted. The thing, a Kursed, spoke ridiculously quickly and manically, and before a response could be had wandered close to bite at one of Jhaega’s clawed feet. Without warning the beast roared and lowered his great maw, closing shut the jaws of oblivion about the snivling creature’s head. With a snap he broke the fools neck and tossed the body to the table which hosted the commanders. Let that be a warning to you all he hissed, before redirecting his attention to @[member='Phobos']. Tonight we dine in hell; you shall see the power of pure might when it is beside your puny mind tricks. And then the great hulking beast rose into the air, wings beating to keep his ascension. Gather the Kursed and head into the tunnels. The time to strike is nigh!

The ceiling broke apart, permitting Jhaega his exit through the gaping hole. His feats of destruction and chaos were well known throughout, it was said that he could possess the greatest devil and make him worse. That would be a tried and tested statement by the time this battle was over. Before Phobos had any chance to respond to him the dragon was off, gone from the Fortress as his behemoth form made its way over the ruined city-planet below. This time no screech accompanied his flight, nor did his shadow linger upon the ground. Jhaega took only the hidden routes, those already masked in shadows, keeping him from the sights of those who would hunt him. The ants beneath the city, the rats beneath his feet, would be in for quite the surprise.

On the ground below, the Kursed were being rallied. Many were frenzied, yet they were kept in line and under control... For now. Chaos would reign this night. Tyranny always Reigns he remarked mentally to himself, humoured by the sychophantic nature of so many who were beneath him. They would beg for their lives come the end. Finally he reached his destination, ahead of the Kursed. From his vantage point he kept watch, ensuring no surprise attacks were dealt. Then, when they reached the area, he descended. His entrance to the tunnels was wide and tall, providing ample space for the hulking creature. But it would be his Horde who would enter first. The battle had begun. The secret assault took place within the Underground Tunnels, along the same route so many of the Rebels had used to get to Sanctuary; it was time to heard them towards the Fortress. Finally he roared, quaking the very foundations of the earth.

For Akala!”The Kursed pounced, their restraints all but removed. They were everywhere, uncountable, and they were zealots to Her cause. Death meant nothing to them, only killing.
