Alderaan, Shades of Grey

Verrin waved off the thank you as it wasn't really necessary. He liked to think most people would have done something to help someone who seemed to be in need. Or maybe that was just his natural naivety talking, either way, he enjoyed helping others, perhaps he would look into the healing arts? Maybe but that was for another time. He wanted to ask what past, but he wasn't sure that would be the right topic for the moment. Perhaps... later if they met again he would ask, but she seemed to vulnerable to be bringing that up now. Just like once she had walked her path, once she had given up the child, once she had learned her lightning that she found important; he would ask her again if she thought it was worth it. If she felt it was the right thing to do.

"It is okay," Verrin said offering her a small smile, "I won't push anymore, for now," Standing up, leaned over to pick up his discarded lightsaber and put it back on his belt before turning to her and offering his hand, "Do you want to finish our walk?"

She smiled and took his hand again and nodded, calm now as she stood to walk next to him. "Sorry about all that, i tend to get a bit... worried. Im not the best when it comes to potentially dangerous situations, i break down and start resorting to anything to keep from being harmed or suppressed when it comes to things like that... what i mean is thank you for not just leaving or striking out at me for falling apart like a child back there.." She reddened again and kept her head down, though it really wouldnt matter with how tall he was, it wasnt like he would see her face.

"It's alright, no harm done," Verrin said pulling her to her feet. She didn't have to apologize as while he wasn't used to what happened or really know what to do, he wasn't upset with her. He had just pushed too hard too soon. It was probably his fault at his inexperience as he was sure a real Jedi Master would have done better then he had. Well... some of them. Others he had met were cold, and he felt some of them had almost... violent natures that made him wonder why they were Jedi Masters.

Thank him for not leaving her behind? "How could I just walk away?" He asked truly unsure how she could expect someone to just leave her like that. He offered up his arm again for her to take it again.

She took it and nodded. "The galaxy ive experienced is far different from the one that you have experienced, ive been nearly killed thrice by three different people, and then the many times ive been taken prisoner, impaled, or tortured in battle or for the fun of whoever it is that found me in such a position." She tapped her fingers on her side and waited for @Verrin Ris'To to speak again, noticing how dark it was getting with his arm holding hers.

The sun was going down, Verrin didn't notice until the sunset was reflected from her eyes. He was a little shocked as he didn't expect so much time to have passed so quickly. Yea, he was going to be in trouble when he got back, hopefully they would have decided to not send anyone till the morning trusting in him to be able to take care of himself as Alderaan didn't seem to have many predators that would be a large threat to him.

He wasn't sure what to say about someone torturing her, and he didn't want to think about her being tortured, "Why would they want to hurt you like that?" Verrin asked as it seemed so alien. On occasion, he felt the inner desire to dominate others, but that came from... something else inside of him, and he firmly believed that, in his heart, he didn't want to do it.

Looking up at the darkening sky, "Will you be okay with walking to your home alone?"

She walked slowly over the earth and stared ahead of her as she spoke. "Sith are cruel... the dark side is not the same as the Sith. While they use it, that is where the link stop..." She paused and looked at him. "I know you have to get back but can we sit down while we talk about this, it makes me dizzy just thinking about it." She looked sick, as if she had been hit right in the gut and then had mercury poured down her throat. @Verrin Ris'To

He did have to get back, but he wouldn't force her to walk when she looked so ill, "Sure, lets sit," Letting go of her arm, he sat on the ground crossing his legs, "I am not sure if I agree with your view," Verrin said, "The Dark Side... corrupts you doesn't it? I mean, how do you know it is the Sith that twisted the Dark Side and not the Dark side that twisted them?"

"Because i use it frequently and you dont see me killing and torturing those they do because they can. When i was a child, i had been saved by an old man from a gutter, brought to a home and taught, trained in the force away from Jedi and Sith... then a Sith killed him, and then returned to finish the job. Only instead of killing me i was taken and put under a debt for my life being spared. From there i failed and fought to kill and survive." She paused and took a few moments to gather herself before she broke down again and spoke once more. "Then i escaped them before they could ever make me into them, i escaped with my mind intact and began to return to self training... since then i have nearly been murdered twice, sustain a number of wounds that without the very person resting in me, would leave me scarred and crippled... and tortured for my failures during and after leaving the Sith." @Verrin Ris'To

"And look at what you using the Dark Side has led you to," Verrin counted motioning to her stomach, "I could never condone such a thing. A Sith may have made the offer, but you agreed so that you could learn more about the Dark Side... How can you be so sure that it isn't corrupting you? Tricking you into doing things that you never would have done under normal circumstances for the chance to learn more... to get more power."

He could feel some of her pain through the force, but he refused to bend his heart and his principles for her... he could never do that. From what little he had seen of the Dark Side, read about it's practitioners... he wanted no part in it nor it's ways. He would find ways to uphold his values and defend who he could without sacrificing his soul.

"BECAUSE IT WONT." She shouted at him as he finished before blinking and trying to figure out what it was that she just did. She never yelled, not out of anger like that, but his constant pestering to this was something that was growing highly annoying. "Sorry. I know what i have done, and im sorry its unnatural, but i made my choice whether is was a bad one or not. Once its born though my debt is paid and i should never need see her again."

Verrin jerked back at the sudden anger fueled outburst, "No, I think we are done here," Verrin said softly, "I don't think you are sorry... and that is the problem."

If she had regretted her decision... if he felt she was truly sorry for what she had done, he could over look it and, maybe someday, forgive it. But... he didn't feel she was sorry. He wasn't sure if it was because she tried to validate it, tried to tell herself that power wasn't evil... that what she would get from it could be used for good, or if she just couldn't face what she had done, but he felt the apologies were more for his sake then a true expression from her.

"You are walking a path... that I cannot... will not follow," Verrin said, his voice still low, and he would admit that he was... sad at the realization, "I cannot help but feel that one day, you will look around and realize how far you have gone, that you will have become the evil you sought to seclude yourself from. I only hope that when that times comes, you will come find me."

She cracked, he told her she had fallen, that she was evil. Her eyes shot about as she stood and pointed at him with her hands clenched tight, voice raised and no longer calm in the least as the silver parts of her eyes began to slowly change to Orange. "I AM NOT EVIL. You... you are lying, you are for a reason to tell your master that i deserve to be locked up... I wont let that happen..." She stood and stared at him as fear and anger bubbled up and consumed her without anything trying to stop it, staring at him. "I cant let you leave... i cant let you tell the Jedi that i am evil, they will find me and kill me... or worse... make me a husk and tear my powers from me." She opened her hands before shutting the again and tearing a branch of a tree as she breathed harshly. "RUN JEDI." She shot the branch at him, aiming for his chest. @Verrin Ris'To

Fear and anger. Panic. It was overwhelming her again, and she was going berserk. Verrin shot to his feet. She didn't seem to have any control over what she was doing as instead of using her lightsabers or calling on the force, she was using a branch... a tree branch to try and stab him. He wasn't sure what to do, if he ran, she would might follow and then the Jedi at the Enclave would try to stop her which would get... bad. He didn't want her to get hurt, even after everything, he didn't want her to fear the Jedi more then she did, but if he fought her and tried to disarm her then it could get worse with her instincts calling on her superior knowledge of the force.

When he had held her, she had calmed down, and he could only hope it would work again, so he opened his arms... and let the branch come. The pain was... brutal. The branch tore through his robe and into the right side of his chest just barely missing his lung as it punctured deep into the flesh, rending muscle, as his blood pumped around the branch now lodged in his chest covering it and her hands.

It wasn't easy to move his right arm with the branch piercing his chest, but he did what he could and tried to wrap his arms around her once again, calling on the force to try and ignore the pain... "Look at what you are doing... Alexandra.."

"DONT TOUCH ME." Her hand tried to hit him in the gut as he held her, her body shaking from the emotions and the break down, lost to what she was doing and to what she was feeling, she wanted to destroy him even if he helped her. "Ill... ill k-kill you." She was struggling to keep her focus on him, unable to do anything, the blood collecting onto her as she stared at him with complete hate and fear of what was going to happen to her if he revealed her. "I... no i have to kill you." She tried to reach for her sabers but couldn't before just slumping against him, the rage slowly melting though the fear remained. "More death... they caused so much... and torture... the jedi and their ability to rend the force... i cant let it happen." @Verrin Ris'To

Verrin held on despite her screams, her waves of anger, and a part of him expected to feel the burn of her sabers through him, but he did not let go. Every time she moved, it caused the branch to move, twist, and otherwise wedge deeper into his chest spreading waves of pain throughout his body. It was becoming hard to stand, normally, her weight would have been nothing but the blood loss, pain, and her weight were starting to compound and his legs were starting to shake.

He slowly lowered himself to the ground, intending on pulling her onto his lap and rock her to try and calm her down once more, hopefully before Verrin fell unconscious as he was relying more and more on the Force to keep his awareness, "It's okay, Alexandra, it is going to be okay.."

The fear drained from her before she actually just collapsed, her mind restarting itself from the amount of energy she tried to control all at once with her eyes staring at the man over her before sliding shut. Her ind was literally running repair on itself, overcome and removing that part of what had just happened as her personalities split between the two, in that moment her eyes would be seen moving heavily though remained closed as her lids only twitched. Once awake she wouldn't remember anything from that moment, but for now she just laid there. @Verrin Ris'To

When she sagged in his arms, Verrin let out a small sigh of relief because it seemed she had calmed down. That didn't take the branch from his chest, or the small stream of blood that was still being pumped out and was starting to dye her white robes red. He knew that if he left he here, he would be able to make it to the enclave, but if he stayed, he would lose too much blood, and he wouldn't be able to make it... The force could only keep him going for so long, but he wouldn't leave her in the middle of nowhere, in the dark, covered in his blood.

He would wait for her. Pulling her closer, her let his shoulders sag, and his head lowered as he slowed his breathing and concentrated on controlling his body to slow the blood flow.

Alexandra woke to see him injured, a branch in his chest, and blood staining his body. "What... what happened... Verrin are you ok?" She looked around and immediately tore her robes without care, taking a blade in hand and thinking for a moment before swallowing. "I dont know alot, and if your awake this is going to hurt." She placed her hand on him and the branch before cleanly pulling it from his chest before pushing the fabric to the wound and closing her eyes tight before breathing and putting what knowledge she had on healing into effect. She had no memory of doing it and had no idea what was going on, but she would pump as much of her power into trying to fix the wound enough that he wouldnt die from bloodloss and would be ok. "Verrin, please answer and say youre ok, you need to listen to my voice and hang on." Her voice showed worry, but over it kindness and caring, soft and focused on the task, no hint of the anger or fear left on her.

Verrin was lost in his own mind, using the force to flow through his body and numb the pain, trying to control his blood flow as much as possible. The sudden increase in pain as the branch was tore from his chest nearly broke his concentration, but he fought on. It wasn't until a new flow of force entered him did he open his eyes, so see Alexandra bent over him with her hands on his chest. He could feel his wound closing and the blood flow slowing down; the pain was still present, but he opened his eyes to look up at her searching her face for any signs of the anger and fear he felt before and finding none.

"Y-You don't remember?" Verrin asked sounding weak to his own ears.

"Remember what... why was i knocked out and why did you have a branch in your chest..." She focused still on trying to work on the wound, she couldnt do much more, already drained from this and from her previous outburst which remained unknown to her. "What is it that i dont remember Verrin?" Her eyes focused on him, trying to find what he meant as he said that, worried that something bad had happened. @Verrin Ris'To
