- What metals could be used to make earrings (with the crystal(s) described above)
- How could I fit a hidden hearing-aid (for tracking noises in combat) into each of them?

Most things are allowed if you do a proper submission and development thread for them. An armor plated pet carrier sounds hilarious, actually.

How would you describe a devastating defeat for a dev thread?

A defeat which devastates your character. Pretty self-explanatory.

It could possibly one in which he's disfigured, or mauled, or simply utterly humiliated in a way which damages your reputation. The loss must be profound, not just "Oh man that person kicked my butt." Ultimately the judges will determine if the defeat you suffer is damaging enough to your character to qualify for special materials. If they do not believe that you qualify, they are entirely allowed to reject your dev thread.

Sooo...try to make sure you get messed up pretty bad.

One last question, though I think I know the answer adn just checking. Does a development thread have to start as a dev thread? Saaaay Vulps got destroyed in the year-long RP which is technically still going, but Vulps left after his loss.
