[member="Darth Pyrrhus"] So if I role play getting a colony sorted out, on a world with sentient inhabitants that would do.
No restricted materials, force nexus, though defense will come later.

[member="sabrina"]

That would work. The requirement for a dev thread would in this case be because of the Force Nexus, and the focus of the thread would be expected to be on that. The size of the dev thread would depend on the size of the nexus. Rules for the length of the dev threads required are specified in the Planet Creation Template under Major Locations.

If I say wanted to populate the planet with dinosaur era animals
Would I need to sub the animal first or after?

[member="sabrina"]

Well, it might be advantageous for you to get your ducks in a row on the planet prior to submission. That way, you can include all the necessary cities as locations within the planet sub.

[member="Reverance"] the plan is to put mostly Jurassic era animals on the planet, with a few changes to some.
One city/colony on Island which has the obvious effects on the local animals, just means we need to remove the huge predators, though the others would shrunken. So not as harmful

[member="Darth Pyrrhus"] @Reverance @Valiens Nantaris this where I am so far, in dev thread. Can I ask what I should add, so I can begin to get ball rolling sub wise.

Need to create some dinosaurs, a few force using ones, and one big anti force one.
can not be carried on your back.
Need to do the colony it self as well as the planet.

I think I see [member="sabrina"]'s idea. Similar to the natural ways some species use the Force (Malraas etc), then one similar to the Ysalamir. I actually would like a verdict on this as well, as I want to make a new planet as well, with all new species. Not dinosaurs, but similar ideas.

Ie, maybe a species that adapted to use Force Speed to escape an already fast predator, or one that has a defense of Force Fear to cause prey to run into traps or something.

It would be possible, but creating a species is all about pros and cons.

A force using creature's dev thread goes up massively if it's already a big predator.

For instance, a Force speed using Velocoraptor would certainly attract a dev thread of no less than 25 posts...and would need significant weaknesses as well.

That was one of them
Also a force nulling triceratops

OK, since that kind of answers my want of guesstimated ranges, say I did these solo, would that still be the requested number? Or could I do 10-15 so long as each has is in depth/better than average?

Of course as said, it wouldn't be a Veleciraptor, but maybe a vulpine/canine species with Speed for a hefty but not extravagant length dev?

Last thing, for sound explanation, do you believe that a Force Nexus on planet would allow for a hastened mutation such as these?

Solo dev threads are what I consider filler. It takes more effort for people to be involved.

So if you want to do this one solo you'd need the same number of posts. Thus, it's easier to get someone to share the load with you.

[member="Valiens Nantaris"] the triceratops would have to be use alchemy if they wanted to do anything with it. Though it would be easier just get a lizard and tie it you back.
