The platoon descended the exit ramp.
The flight through the asteroid belt had virtually destroyed their transport. It sat sputtering and steaming on the right side of the hangar, awaiting repairs that would only come after the G99 industrial facility was securely in the hands of the Republic.
Malica reported to their Republic contact and received their orders. The platoon headed to the hangar closest to the engineering labs to guard the Verpine and Republic personel who were frantically preparing the fighters that could be launched into space and deactivating the rest and packing away what they could. The parts, along with several Verpine engineers would be shipped to a safe zone in Republic space should the Imperials infiltrate the engineering hangar. They were ordered to destroy what was left in the lab. If even one unfinished model was captured by the Sith, a Verpine ally could easily replicate it.
Malica and her elite platoon of Omega Pyre agents covered the hangar and it's adjoining passages. Several Republic soldiers were already stationed, agitated by the battle in the main hangar of the asteroid. As the Sith attacked the asteroid head on, the engineering hangar vibrated. Verpine scientists scattered around the unfinished fighters, disassembling the technologies they had worked on for years. Reports from the front said that Imperial forces were making their way toward the inner labs, intending to break into the hangar bay for the valuable, nearly finished fighters.
Malica communicated with her team over her headpiece. “Prepare for attack from all sides.” When the Sith broke through the front lines of the main hangar, they would be coming straight for this one. “Affirmative.” One squad reported. “Copy.” Rang in the other. The tunnels had already been breached by powerful Imperial forces and the reports of an armored terentatek-like beast attacking @[member="Delila Castillon"]'s 73rd Infantry set the Omega Pyre platoon into readiness.
