Galactic Alliance Dominion of Terminus and Manpha

TERMINUS Orbit
Own Objective

The problem with being places aboard a GADF medical frigate was that sometimes you didn't get to transfer before it was redeployed to react to another emergency. He should have been taken to a fixed facility before they made the jump but the fleet had been despatched to the sector before he could be signed off as safe for transport.

At least he was out of the bacta now. They hadn't even given him a dunk after Kaeshana. It was remarkably claustrophobic to be trapped inside that little mask with hardly any view of the outside world.

Jacen had stayed close. Unlike before he had been witness to the concern that even his stoic father displayed so openly. Apparently when he had heard that Trextan had been in the epicentre of the blast he had nearly broken down.

Alongside the creation of the gate shields, there were other items to consider. Regarding security at least. It wasn't just the planet proper that MaraTibx wanted to ensure the safety of, but of their trade stations along this sector as well. ArmsTech produced an interested type of shield, a Darkshield and a Worldshield to be exact. One allowed for camouflage possibilities while the other was more along the lines of the planetary shield.

Perhaps contacting them to do a joint venture would be possible. Finding a mutually beneficial relationship in terms of defensive shields. Another thought was to add BlastTech orbital defenses.

The BTI-Guardian Class Satellite would be perfect for this. The BTI-Guardian Class was designed with a mind towards stopping terrorist and military units on the ground with ease. Thanks to the state-of-the-art surveillance equipment, the Guardian is able to find whatever enemy of the state (or criminal) and obliterate them and their entire family with the press of a single button. Limited to moving in orbit, it's thrusters only allow it to position itself, and keep itself afloat in space and from becoming a pretty meteor should gravity ever get a hold on it.

While it did possess the ability to turn around and point it's weapons towards space. It would only be effective against large, immobile ships or asteroids. The long recharge time on the weapon itself prevents it from posing any danger to ships that move with any semblance of speed, and makes it even more vulnerable to fighters.

Jacen had explained that he had thought he'd felt Trextan slipping away. He had tried to explain his experiences back. Those moments immediately after the blast were hazy now, but he was certain he had become immersed in the Force. Perhaps too much. Almost as if trapped between life and death briefly.

The Marshal wasn't here now. Once Trextan was back in a bed he explained he had to head to a praxeum ship for two days but would be right back. Duty before family as ever, Trextan thought. He felt bad for the thought almost immediately. Jacen was supposed to be back at Sullust training, not out here. He'd been out there beside the tank the entire time.

From his bed he saw a ghostly apparition float past the door. He didn't even know her name, he realised. He often saw her knelt down beside Jacen in silent meditation. Another dark stab of emotion. It seemed instinctual to feel jealousy towards anyone who had received his father's time instead of himself. It had been the same with Liliane, one of Jacen’s students. Yet that was always counterbalanced by a curiosity to find out more about the man Jacen was.

Locke wasn't really that old, but old enough that he didn't much mind admitting when he had been wrong.

His hands were on the controls, his eyes on the screen. The x-wing was state-of-the-art, used to be that they used ancient crappy make-shift fighters with barely any IFF recognition. But this was different, this was as much sorting out the software as it was about what was happening outside.

"You fly well, Locke." He mumbled, while lining up shots as fast as she was giving them to him. "My apologies for earlier."

No, he didn't mind at all.

"We got two incoming from starboard, line 'em up for me, chief." Eyes still peeled on the HUD, waiting for the target reticle to come live.

All in all, it was a good set up that they had so far. Making a few purchases from ArmsTech would ensure that a Darksky protective shield would envelop the building itself. Then there was also the orbital office location that the bank would be building. It would take no more than a month to complete all the construction.

Security would then be set in place by vetted Arceneau Trade specialists, and then it was a matter of simply monitoring the trade traffic. Most folk this far out meant that they had few choices in a selection of purchasing goods, so depending on the product, there could be a mark up to be had. Otherwise, prices should be rather reasonable.

Working with the Galactic Alliance in an exchange contract would end up profitable and secure for both parties then.

That wasn't the only perk to the Guardian Class Satellite. The composite beams themselves are quite powerful, equivalent to two turbolasers that are capable of sustaining their blasts for nearly ten seconds. On the ground this would equate to nearly five square blocks being obliterated unless the target was reinforced or heavily shielded. The Guardian is mainly designed to eliminate soft targets and your everyday run of the mill buildings. It's effectiveness on military targets varies on the material the actual target is made of. Against beskar emplacements it's effectiveness is greatly diminished, and only five to six repeated blasts would start to damage the target.

One on each world would provide a solid standard in security.

With that thought in mind, Noire took her datapad in hand and then gave a small scribble of her signature. With that, the proposal would be sent and Noire would begin her vetting of local businesses.

As the rest of the station, Sections Four through Eight were finally brought into the life support systems, Jaxson was looking over the final report from the power generator being installed for the station. Ostensibly, it was billed as a hypermatter reactor... but that wasn't the whole truth. Aurora had not disclosed, except to top Alliance brass, what was actually going to be powering the station. A brand new type of power generator was being installed, one powered by a kyber crystal submitted Aurora's Sianium process. In theory, and in tests they had run, the generator provided four times as much power for the station to run on than what normal power generators could create. However, special energy storage areas needed to maintained as excess had to bled into these storage areas to keep the system stable.

Eight such storage systems had been arranged around the station, with another three installed as a fail-safe in case any one were to suddenly fail. The theory was that the reactor would remain stable as long as five of the storage systems could absorb and sent the excess energy elsewhere... such as the weapon emplacements that were due to arrive in moments.

"Are we sure about this, sir?"

Jaxson looked up to see one of his senior engineers.

"Yes, Miss Raaf wanted to make sure this station would never run out of power and this is the best reactor we have currently," he replied. "Status on the sections?"

"Work continues, with four through eight getting everything needed for the weapon stations, security checkpoints, crew rec... anything that wasn't vital for the other sections. The mountings for the shields are in place, along with the areas for both the internal security and the external offensive and defensive emplacements. We need only have them arrive before the work crews can bolt and connect them in place."

"Excellent."

"Control to mule one and two, we are at station keeping and stable. You are free to commence relief supply runs and bring back wounded."

The process to anchor the modest station was completed quickly and now with their primary function complete the "105"s began their secondary missions. Still having barely come to rest the station was already taking on refuges from the surrounding embattled systems. Bryce as he like to walked to great the people, not as a military leader, or owner of a billion ISK company. As his passion led him, a humble care giver. It had been some time since he had cared for so many at once. Not since Castimeer had seem such hardship.

To be honest his feeling seemed to be coming more from a place of dark reminiscing that actual events. To be fair the Alliance was far more organized and capable than what he experienced above that doomed planet. No here he could help, not just keep some alive but help many. As many as he could.

"Noire?'

A voice from the far side of the conference room caught the brunette's attention. It was Maie, a willowy blonde Companion in training. She had been assigned to Noire from the Guildhouse in order to monitor her growth and potential as an assistant. Smiling at the younger woman, the Kiffar coaxed Maie forward.

"Yes, Maie?" Noire set her datapad to the side.

"I have brought some tea." Maie replied, carefully balancing the tea service upon a silver platter.

"Of course, please, come in." Noire gestured, offering the younger woman a place to sit.

With an anxious smile, Maie came forward. She wore a light pink sari trimmed in silver. Her hair was in a thick plait, braided down her back and tied with a silver clip at the end.

"Is everything going well?' Maie would wonder aloud, inquiring on the planning. A bit too bold, but the young teenager would learn to bid her time.

"It is." Noire replied, mirroring the smile as she watched Maie set the tea service down upon the coffee table.

"How are you doing?" she asked, studying the girl.

"How do they work?"

The childlike voice inquired of the Corellian Green Jedi as Rhen set another healing crystal within the palm of the youngling's hand. Rhen gave a smile, this thick bushy beard flexing as the old man appeared to deeply ponder.

"Well, do you see this here? The crystal." Rhen began, leaning forward to carefully tap the cut gem in the shell of the child's palm.

"This crystal here is from Kashyyyk." a pause and then a questioning look. "Do you know where Kashyyyyk is?"

The child with the wide eyes and sickly pallor shook his head from side to side. He had been been suffering from the poisoning, his skin clammy and pale. Every breath was a struggle, but there was keen intelligence behind those eyes.

"Ah, well, it is a planet far from here. The natives there are called Wookiees." Rhen explained, elaborating. "And they are often as tall as two meters in height!" a bit of dramatic flair had been added to that bit, succeeding in making the younglings eyes bulge more.

"They are quite friendly, mind you. " Rhen assured him. "However, they are great carvers. Of wood, stone, whatever the mind could imagine. " another tap of the crystal.

"And with crystals, well... they've learned how to cut these crystals to enhance their qualities -- much like this one." he pointed at the sea green gem. "This one enhances your natural healing abilities."

"Whoaaa."

A chuckle from Rhen.

"Whoa, indeed."

the woman's eyes wide,
she could still feel pride
because for once she hadn't lied
no people she had fried
she took but a small step
her fingers curled
on the lightsaber below
she'd heard
the voice of a foe
so she must have been ready
to keep her head steady
and then just already
the foe attacked
the girl was unready
she had to act fast
so it wouldn't be last -
the last fight she would have
and then she saw them,
them crimson red eyes
and she knew then
how light slowly dies

The work continues Miss Raaf, and the third wave of transports has just dropped out of hyperspace. I am cautiously optimistic that the station will be finished on schedule, perhaps even slightly ahead. Time will tell of course. The readings from the Alexandrite Project are optimal and holding, I will be sure to send the readings and obervations on the containment system to Jylik and Kyburne at FrostGem Facility once the work is finished and continue to observe it. I will report again as the work continues. Jaxson out.

"Get the external crews suited up, they have a lot of work to do," Jaxson ordered. Turbolasers, ion cannons, mass drivers, point defense, torpedoes, flak... all of it needed installed. The sentry guns on the inside would be the easy part, and Jaxson was very curious to see how well the weapons would integrate into the containment systems for the power generator. Would it create an increase in power? The hypothesis was yes, but he wanted to see the results firsthand.

Objective 1.1 (1)

"The Shawda Ubb rely on these types of environments...and already I'm feeling the static in the atmosphere. Something is wrong on a biological level..." The old man began a deep hum under his breath while he caressed the length of his beard Jed Moonrunner was large and round but built, and he had a head full of grey hair that stopped at his shoulders. He looked experienced in life...his mustache gripped his face and matched his hair in color. Most people would characterized him by his brusque manner, stern demeanor, cautious disposition, and suspicious nature. But his care for others would manifest at times...perhaps he was overly critical but he always understood what was at stake.

They both entered one of the areas set up for the humanitarian aid. After speaking with some of the medics, they were able to procure one of the natives who was willing to give them a little information so they could begin their investigation.

Rebel looked off at the damage that was evident on their bodies of these Shawda Ubb, as he followed his master he maneuvered to the side of him as they came to the bed of their contact.

"You must be Naparawn Totalawnie...I'm Jedi Knight Jed Moonrunner, and this is my Padawan Rebel Sunka. If you can, I'd like you to tell us as much as you think would aid us in our investigation. The more information the better." His raspy voice filled the room as he shifted in his stance and placed his hands on his hips.

"Soo many strangers, but you all bring help. Our home is becoming poison to us. It all started with strangers..." He said taking a deep breath as his respiratory system had become damaged from the toxins. "We got an off-worlder, he started conducting his suspicious business North from here...I thought he was after the petroleum but later we all started getting sick. Further North is where it's the worse...none of us has been able to make the trip..." He lowered and shook his head.

Both of the Jedi looked to one another, Jed pulled his apprentice to the side. "I'm sending you to investigate this and report your findings. Your skill set is better suited...I'll convene here and feed you information as I discover it. Take this rebreather...if you can't find a source in an hour, get out of there."

Rebel sighed, and rolled his eyes. "I suppose..."

MANPHA

The healers would continue to work alongside the Jedi and allied forces, helping treat the individual cases of illness as they cropped up. It seemed that no one had been spared, young or old. While the Heka Healers didn't have the resources to decontaminate large amounts of water or find the source, they were experienced in handling patients outside of a proper, sterile hospital. Many words didn't have state of the art medical facilities, and even then there were portions of the population who would never see the inside of a clean examination room.

The little girl lurched upwards suddenly in a coughing fit, specks of blood dotting her clothing.

“You poor thing,” The younger healer murmured, hand at the girl’s back to both soothe and support, another resting on her lap as she leaned down. “Come on, let's get you a bath and a change of clean clothes. You'll feel better after that.” She picked up the girl, cradling her sickly form in her arms before heading off to a makeshift curtained off-area where the girl could bathe and change in relative privacy.

“Tell me about these Durasuits.” Parso’s tone had lightened a bit, now more curious as to what the woman could provide beyond basic medical care. She had listed in on the form, after all. He wasn’t sure what it meant.

“Ah,” Joza seemed to perk up, a grin tugging at her lips. A proud grin. “Durasuits are made from Duraflex, a fabric blend made from a heat crystal weave. Not only are they fairly durable against basic environmental hazards, but they're waterproof and help regulate body temperature.” Unlike Heatflex, Duraflex didn't offer much in the way of protection against blasters or other weaponry. But the Durasuits were designed for refugees and other displaced people with their comfort and health in mind.

“Refugee clothing then,” Parso confirmed, leaning back in his chair to look Joza over--moreso to get a handle on her expression, her reaction than anything.

“They're not the prettiest clothes to wear, but they're designed to be a necessity rather than a luxury. One less thing for an already troubled population to worry about.” Joza had thankfully ever been forced from her home, but she'd seen what it had done to locals needing to evacuate at a moment’s notice. “I’m also working on a line of durable shoes for the same purpose.” Shoes, as she'd learned, were also important in any sort of refugee situation. People often lost a lot of what they owned, and there was sometimes no telling when they'd get to settle again.

the lightsaber would slash
until it would crash

that was the Sith
her eyes kept looking at his
while her blade would whizz
through air and fizz
and fight with the Sith
peace
just a word,
no meaning to it
he'd said
"you are but a puppet
to the manipulators' trumpets
messed up is your moral compass
and your brain must be a puzzle"
she truly felt bad

but she was glad
that she hadn't gone mad

Kailari stepped out of her shuttle, her companion Celeste following behind her shortly after. The air itself smelt of industry, the smell of pollution and smoke pierced her nose as she covered it with her hand. "See I told you it was bad," Celeste teased the princess, "Reminds me of my time in the Old World." Ships flew overhead, carrying cargo to and from locations on the planet. Terminus was one of the busiest planets due to it's centralization and it would make a great location for a new headquarters.

Kailari lowered her hand from her face as she made her way through the streets surrounded by her private guard, not trusting any of the local residents. Her guards pushed the locals aside, clearing a way for her to get to the new location of her headquarters on the planet.

"There it is Celeste," Kaila said as she raised her hand to a building that was partially constructed, it's framework still exposed and electronics dangling from the rafters. "I'm sure it will look better when it is done. Anyways we are here to meet with the local owner of the area." She lowered her arm as she led her companion towards the building, ducking beneath some of the lower framework to get inside. Kaila took a seat at the main desk as Celeste leaned onto it, examining her datapad carefully as she memorized some of the statistics about the data and location. The guards took position around the building as the pair waited for the man they expected.

Bethany settled into one of the offered seats, listening to Voidstalker as he explained some of the situation. How many times would the same scripts be played out on the galactic stage? And would people ever learn?

If they hadn't learned differently in the last five hundred years, Bethany mused, it seemed unlikely.

She inclined her head slightly as the query was passed their way. Of the three who had come together on Monastery initially, each of them had their strengths. [member="Hal Terrano"] knew more than, she suspected, the entire rest of the order combined- and what he didn't know, he could lay hands on in some form or another. Michael was their stalwart, the stone the other two could rely upon. And Bethany?

Mostly, Bethany talked these days.

"The Order of the Sacred Lotus is dedicated to peace, and to helping those who are the most affected by wars- the civilian populations. We focus on medical aid and relocation efforts, whether to Monastery or to help refugees find their own place to settle elsewhere. We offer training, in the Force, but also more practical things for those who wish to learn new skills that will open up choices beyond those so often narrowly defined."

She paused for a moment, glancing at Michael.

"We are prepared to enter hot zones- but not as combatants. While most in the Order will fight to defend themselves, we never go to bring war. We are there to evacuate the populace safely, to treat the wounded, regardless of affiliation, and offer our services as mediators if that were to be necessary."

Placing her hands on the table, she clasped them together, looking back at Voidstalker and Eden.

"We can easily offer our aid with the civilian population that desires to leave. I would welcome them to Monastery, whether on simply a temporary or more permanent basis- as needed. We have few enough engineers to work on the infrastructure, sadly, but we can set up aid stations ground side as well, to offer medical care as well as basic supplies."

"Mule two, permission to doc."

Refugees from the "105" began to be led into the station from the make shift home they had been living in. Men, women and children of all races were being shown a kindness that had been lacking in their past lives. With a passengers capacity of well over 50,000 souls the it was soon not going to be enough for handle the continuing needs now making there way in.

"Sir, we are near capacity, orders?"

"Make room, any way you can. I'm not turning anyone away useless we need to. Feth should have made a bigger station..."

Elmont Block

Your focus determines your reality
Elmont had never been to Manpha. In truth, there were so many planets in the galaxy he’d never been to, so to be more accurate, he’d never been to a planet like Manpha.

His experience to date in travel had been as a small time freighter pilot, so his journeys tended to be centred around technology or medicines and typically urban environments.

So the swampy world of Manpha was not something he was used to – or comfortable with. And what he knew about ecosystems could fill a flimsy, cut up into sixteen pieces and fifteen of them discarded. But he was here and he was doing his best to help. Or rather he was spending most of his time making sure he didn’t step on the locals. Little amphibians and not exactly pleasing to the eye, they clearly thrived in the moist environment of the swamps. Elmont did not and felt entirely sweaty and bothered by the humidity.
