Jacen considered this for a moment. "The world isn't so badly damaged that I think we need to consider evacuation. There are a lot of industry leaders here who want those spaceports running again. Even if they're looking out for themselves they are helping to rebuild. The fighting on the surface is done. All of the remaining stormtrooper garrisons have surrendered now. Fighting as a resistance isn't really built into their conditioning. If we start evacuating skilled workers out of the sector I'm going to get some awkward questions."

He smiled and gave a wide shrug. "I see where you're coming from. Truly, we'll be glad of any aid on the ground, but I hope you can see the concern?"

Jacen tapped the datapad and the worst hit city was brought down as a holoimage in the centre of the table. The current aid distribution points were highlighted.

The numbers appeared on the holo. Beside each one was a colour to show how it compared to what the GADF had requested. It was all based on analysis the navy had done on what they needed in capabilities.

"Raw acceleration: exceeds expectations. Maneuverability: exceeds expectations. And so on and so forth. It's lighter and more agile than the current model. Only one launcher, but it's flexible. Can carry heavy proton rockets or homing concussion missiles. We've managed to increase the output on the laser cannons whilst keeping ninety percent of the components in common with your current logistical chain."

Pella let this sink in. The old admiral kept flicking his eyes between the display and a flimsiplast he had. She imagined he was comparing the numbers with those put forwards by her competitors. They were always taken with a pinch of salt, but she knew theirs would look good.

"So when do you want a demonstration?"

"You have a working model?"

"Of course."

"The most effective aid is what we can bring to the people here," Avalore gestured to the highlighted areas on the holomap, "this is not a global catastrophe or epidemic, this is civil unrest. Damp civil unrest that is quickly dissolving. The focus of the corporations is broad and unsurprisingly the welfare of the victims is not high on the list of priorities. A narrower focus is needed and best provided by a third, unbiased party; The Lotus," she smiled at Bethany, "NJO, and the Circle of Healers is about as strong of a third party as they could hope for."

"The Circle presently has four Relief ships at ready, awaiting drop location designations. I'd be happy to have them link up with any ships from The Lotus in order to better coordinate efforts."

Judah yawned slightly as his small group of consultants, yes-men, scientists and contractors circled around a set of plans that were slowly rotating mid-air. Debate on artificial versus natural light had broken out with the scientist and consultant, arguably over price versus yield.

This gave him time to check his comm and send out a few messages. First was to Mr.Zej, Director of Salvage. He would have the portly man start to check for a fueling station. Perhaps they even had come across one and marked it on their own personal salvage records.

Second was to his son to check in, although he didn't have to worry as much since [member="Thessa Kai"] was staying with them for an extended period of time. It was nice to not have to worry as constantly about the boy while he was out conducting business.

Third was to [member="Danger Arceneau"] about MaraTibX. It was just a short, joking one that highlighted their current business ventures.

[My consultants think MaraTibX has a monopoly on Terminus already, that we have a mole leaking our plans. You've got them all riled up, dont you?]

Quintus cleared his throat a bit as the images came to life, and his eyes seemed to light up. This he could help with, and excel with. His potential with the Force, as some in the Order told him he had, was not something he was concerned with. But it would swell around him in that moment, as his mind begin to whir and plan. Raising his arm, he tapped the datapad at his wrist, and scans and images came up from research he had done on his own. It was mercifully simple to get on the HoloNet and watch the newscasts of embedded unit reporters. Even easier when your reputation as a physician and scholar helped you acquire footage that maybe even people like Jacen hadn't quite seen yet. Already, there was a preliminary, pre-fab plan for aid stations being projected from the pad at his wrist.

"I hope you dont mind, Master Voidstalker, and Miss Kismet... I took the opportunity on the trip over to throw up a rough draft... Given the reports of the surface situation, it might do to... Well.. Rather than evacuate, evaluate. Open up pre-fab style camps, identical sort of drab little MASH type outfits. Emergency treatment and triage, relocation, supply. And have a census detachment to each. Do we have diseases spreading we should preventatively inoculate against? Are the mental traumas being treated? Fixing these sources of desperation will ease the burden on law and order. The best way to heal is to involve the locals, I would think...

To best do that, we need to know our resources and our deficits. You can not treat the disease if you do not know the systemic makeup and effects. Do we lack carpenters to aid us in one sector, but have an abundance in another? I'm not the best at logistics... But the Order has people for this. And I can recommend folks for the medical side. If these ideas here seem ok, I think the biggest asking from you is security detail to aid in our safety. And of course, any healers you can spare. My teams of doctors and the like can only do so much, no matter how well intended or knowledgeable. That would be where you and the Circle come in, Master Eden.... Your input on abilities and functionality of your people will help for us to know how best to distribute them."

Suddenly Quintus seemed to realize he had spoken more words in the one suggestion than perhaps anyone here, Order or not, had ever heard from him, and he went completely quiet as the images from his wrist-pad continued to project above it, flashing floorplans of neat, efficient camps and staging areas. The brilliance of relief was not just in the doing, but in the planning. While Quintus' skills were not specifically in engineering, it helped when you pictured these things as just ailing bodies needing fixed. Then he could easily see what to do. Though perhaps relating it to the average person to digest would need some work, he admitted.

The Wraiths were here. Allyson was slightly thrown off by hearing the encrypted voice. It caught her off guard, but the help was instantly welcomed. There was an odd familiar feeling about the speech pattern and the weird deja vu she felt. There wasn’t any time to focus on that, TIE fighters were showing up and it was time to take them and the Impstars down. The X-Wing, moved fluidly through the distance as they closed in. Other Rogue pilots moved along with her in an easy formation. They splintered off avoiding both the already tagged TIE fighter formations.

“Roger that Wraith One, good to see you guys coming out to play” Allyson grinned with Red and Wraith handling the TIEs this meant that the Rogues could chase down the Impstars. “Rogues formation Slash - Four, keep it spread dont need to give those guys a nice target for any cluster bombs. Shields up and open fire.” The Rogues moved into formation quickly. They focused on the first Impstar that was closest to them. The computer systems had labeled it as the second one, Allyson heard the astromech whistle letting her and her gunner know that they were close.

The computer quickly helped Locke lock onto the Impstar, as Allyson and the rest of the Rogues drew closer, their time to attack would be up. She kept her wits about her knowing that at any moment the Imperial ship could release cluster bombs or even mines to terrorize the Rogues. The other squads were keeping the TIEs off of them, their job was to focus on the larger ships. Remembering the compliment, Allyson spoke to her co-pilot.
“Thanks, when we blow these guys out of space - I’ll buy you a drink.” They had gotten off to a rough start, but for now they needed each other to survive.

"Good to see you too," came a slightly too heartfelt reply. Asmus reached up with his left and and pulled down his targeting computer. It was a skill in itself to keep one eye on the target lock whilst also taking in surroundings.

"Alright, Chad, Wilson. Designating targets now. They're coming in flights of three. Hit the leads then sweep up."

Asmus gave a gentle tug on the controls. His TX-100 required a delicate touch. He lined up his first targets. There was nothing gentle about his next maneuver. He pulled hard to one side and pushed his way out of their main targeting cones and came around.

The noise of the nose-mounted repeating cannon drowned out his instruments as he pulled on the trigger. In one sweep he tore two TIEs apart. The cannon cut out for a cooling cycle as he fell in behind the one that had escaped the first volley.

"you know nothing of my mind
just look at yourself; you're blind
to the ways of the Light; they bind
just let the Dark roam and don't be twined"
for an apprentice, he was fine
because he had a spine
and his words had some shine
yet there was some whine
"don't be fool, you boy
the Darkness has no joy,
because you are a toy
only merely coy"
she tried to not attack
but it was a knack
because the boy was young
he hadn't yet sprung

"No Mule one, you need to use the primary bay, the two lower ones have been presupposed as make shift refuge lodging."

Things were getting will cozy one could say. The two lower fighter and light freighter bays had been converted into make a open air camp. The air filters used to refill the bays after decompression were now working overtime to keep up with the additional air demands of the people staying there. The were at 300% capactiy and still rising. Something needed to be done.

"Captain Bantam to the Nade Gitt, please in act back up plan, we need additional support."

what a method he chose
"boy, you've made a mistake,"
Liliane did say

The man and woman exchanged a few more words, Parso seeming to have a thorough interest in what it was that she did and what her intentions were.

“How did you come to start Heartbeat House…Miss Perl?”

This time, Parso seemed a bit more laid back—his question a bit more genuine than scrutinizing this time around. He paused for a moment, glancing down at the paper to make sure that he’d gotten her title right. Best not to screw up Miss and Mrs.

“Oh…well, originally, it began as a dance studio.” Her smile didn’t falter, though she did hesitate for a moment. You typically didn’t go from dance class to humanitarian aid, but there were several more turns in the path than that. “Then I started making accessories, which graduated into the textile industry. I started researching different types of fabrics around the time that war broke out on Atrisia and then Kaeshana, and after seeing the amount of people it displaced from their homes, I wanted to do something to help.” It was an honest answer, and there was no ill intent behind her motives nor Heartbeat House in general. There were things she worked to keep private, but delving into humanitarian aid was more akin to her flexing the company’s muscles, testing out what it could do and what sort of impact it could have.

Some more back and forth, and the meeting came to a close. A handshake and a few signatures were all that it took to seal the contract.

As the weapon systems began to installed on the outside of the station, Jaxson was focusing his main attention on the integration of the first set of turbolasers. They were tying them into the overflow system from the Alexandrite Project and had secured permission to test fire the turbolasers from the planetary authorities. He had moved himself to the half-finished command center on the station, the workers and engineers working around him and his observation team.

"And all connected, sir."

Jaxson nodded, giving the order to begin cycling the system. There would be a few seconds while firing solutions were obtained by the crew at the first online battery station, seconds where Jaxson made a few last minute calculations and then lances of blue-green energy fired out, impacting upon the ships brought in for testing. They were older models, stuff that was likely to be consigned to the scrap heap or repurposed for some other reason. He gave a small smile as the data streamed in from the turbolaser crew and from the sensors on the targets. Just as they predicted.

Mr. Zej would get the message about the potential refueling station across his screens. He was currently overseeing a large job at the edge of First Order and Galactic Alliance space. An old battle site had left numerous derelicts to be destroyed and re-purposed. Typically he would look for something to save and restore but it must have been a brilliant battle as there wasn't much but twisted scrap.

The portly Pantorian turned in his office, looking over a second screen. A database containing a map of the galaxy sprung up. Typing in some parameters, Mr.Zej scanned through notes upon notes about previous salvage. There were a few space stations noted. A derelict shipyard. Nothing small enough for a refueling station.

He picked up his comm to communicate back.

[Not seeing anything out there Judah we have come in contact with. Might want to start thinking of an alternative.]

"There is the old girl, not the prettiest lump of metal in the Galaxy but hey better than nothing right?"

The Mules began to pack up the refugees family by family and carry them over to the medical frigate. The station had served its' purpose but it was much to small to continue use as it was. Now the larger frigate was here it would complete the humanitarian mission. As the people exited most seemed not to care about the new but now trashed outpost trade station. But to Bryce and Gallofree it was a good first step. It proved the tech within it could be pushed well past its' max and that it was designed well enough to perform beyond its expected roll.

While they had proof of concept, at least for the turbolaser, Jaxson would not be satisfied until all weapon systems had been properly tested with the tie in with the energy containment units. In that train of thought, he had instructed his engineers to test each weapon they installed, no matter what type it was. Meanwhile, he was overseeing the tying of the station's main shield generators now into the Alexandrite Reactor. The theory was that the reactor would make the shields even stronger because of the energy they could draw on to support them as compared to normal shield generators. Just in case though, he want them tested as well.

[Buy new? Do we do that? There's not much we buy new.]

Judah typed a reply back to Mr.Zej. It was a bit disheartening they couldn't salvage something. Not for monetary costs but refurbishing what they salvaged often was on display. Typically brought in more sales and clients if they could see what Salacia did on a day-in and day-out basis.

[I suppose you're on a break then, good news for you. I'll have to do a bit of research and see what type of platform we can find.]

"Test ship for the shields is on station, sir," an engineer informed Jaxson. He nodded, scrolling through his datapad as he appraised the progress of the station. Things were coming along nicely in his estimation, but the work would likely continue for several days to weeks after as the internal systems were installed, tested, re-tested, facility personnel moving in or requests for changes or upgrades from up the Alliance command chain. He was taking all of that into account in his calculations and his next report to Taeli.

"Have them move into position and inform local command we will be live-fire testing," Jaxson ordered. They had brought in a Procursator to give the shields a nice bombardment, just to test how it could stand under pressure and if being tied into the Alexandrite Project would help it. They had also set up a few more of the weapon batteries and would be firing at the Aurora ship to test them against something more modern, with shields, and such. Express orders, given multiple times, made sure that both gunnery crews knew not to push past shields falling.

"Let's begin."

Red Squadron reached the edge of ImpStar Two's engagement envelope.

"Break into evasive maneuver Thresh One Five." Alyce ordered her flight. They wove through turbolaser battery fire like agile birds of prey. The TIE fighters were still on their screens, coming in fast from behind. They wouldn't make it all the way in before Red Squadron hit the ImpStar, but they would catch them up soon after. The first flight of Red Squadron angled in and dove down on the ImpStar, letting loose it's payload onto the hull of the ship. Explosions of varied hues erupted from the skin of the ship as some pierced to the sensitive areas beneath.

Then it was her Flights turn.

"Red Leader, this is Red Five, I'm going to try to buy us some time. Arr-Nine, set the payload for station keeping, we're going to make them mines!" She said as more of a heads up than a mother may I. She banked hard to the left as the rest of her flight let loose on the ImpStar. Then she flipped 180, bringing the Gee forces up to a dangerously high level so she could come across the flight path of the TIE squadron. As she did, she released her munitions, the propulsion units on them kept them steady behind her as she sped past at full acceleration. After a few frantic heartbeats, she was beyond the edge of the TIE fighters' path. Then the TIE fighters had overtaken her line. A press of a button later, and blue white light erupted amid the TIE fighters. A mix of Ion bomblets and photon torpedoes cut through the center of the TIE line. A full third were disabled or destroyed, and the rest broke off to either take to the ship for repairs or come after Alyce.

Alyce hit her throttle as forward as it would go, though no more speed would come out of it, she was at full acceleration. Her payload was dry, and all she had left were her laser cannons facing forward. She dipped and jittered to keep lock off of her as she drew a host of fighters away from their defense zone. Blood pounded in her ears, drowning out the chatter on her radio as green laser light passed by close on either side.

Then, out of the clear black sky, the rest of her flight buzzed past on a perpendicular flight path. Their red laser fire cut through the TIE's angling down her six. Alyce dove down and bled some speed off of the throttle to bring her back around to the fight.
