Here Comes The Freedom Train (The Republic Invasion Of Korriban)

Vinyata turned around to face the battle, now raging in full force in the skies and on the ground of Korriban. Fighters weaved and dashed; gunships unloaded their deadly payloads, star destroyers hammered away at each other with turbolasers, missiles, and ion cannons, walkers and tanks and infantry were ferociously locked in combat. Taking a deep breath in, Vinyata relished the dark side, which was strongest on Korriban and grew even stronger because of the battle. The explosions, the fighting, the hate all flowed through her as she built up her force energy. Then, gazing out while she stood on the steps of the massive Sith Academy, she made several quick tactical assessments and pulled out her datapad, which rendered a 3D holographic display containing real-time updates on the battle raging around her. Serpent Legion’s superior defensive encampments were paying dividends, as they mowed down waves of Republic soldiers. The massive cliff/plateau structure that they occupied provided her troops with the ability to call down firepower on any Republic soldiers in the Valley of the Dark Lord or on the approaches to the Academy plateau. Their positions were not invincible however.

The cliff opposing the Academy plateau had been cut off when the bridge was destroyed. The cliff was long and extended several miles straight into the distance. The Academy was the highest structure as far as the eye could see. The cliffs that held her Legion their supporting gun batteries and Imperial allies were situated behind the Academy plateau and ran from a small section that parallel the cliff opposite of the Academy that had been connected by the now gone bridge all the way over to a vantage point that extended slightly past the eastern most part of the Valley of the Dark Lords. It was a commanders dream, in a planet containing many, cliffs, plateaus, hills and valleys, Vinyata had been able to find a huge cliff that towered above all local natural structures and provided the highest ground for her troops. That didn’t mean that the Serpent Legion and their supporting Imperial allies could hold out forever. Republic forces were redoubling their efforts to eliminate the Legion’s tactical advantage. Columns of walkers and tanks, along with formations of speeders and infantry supported by artillery were making their way toward the cliffs her legion was encamped on. The Republic was starting to call in massive artillery strikes as well as air-support, and was trying to maneuver a Star Destroyer into position for an orbital bombardment, which was currently held up by an Imperial Star Destroyer. If the Republic managed to accurately train their artillery and even get a Star Destroyer into position, they could pin down her soldiers long enough for the ground forces to scale the cliffs, eliminating the Legion’s high-ground advantage. Vinyata had cut off access to the Academy, but not to her soldiers positions.

Snapping back into reality, Vinyata looked at the recently blown up bridge. Through the falling shrapnel, rocks, and Republic troopers she could make out a falling green Nautolan. Running to the edge of the plateau, she hoped to get a closer look. Suddenly, hate and vengeance flashed through her as she realized who it was. During the Republic Invasion of Dac, she had been given temporary command of an Imperial Quick Relief Force (QRF). Her mission had been to provide a rearguard for the failing Imperial soldiers and to extract and survivors, particularly Sith. Many Sith had been captured, and when Vinyata arrived she found that she was muched outclassed by the Jedi there. Despite this, she had attempted to rescue Marcus Faust, who seemed more contempt on making an epic last stand then living to fight another day. The Nautolan Jedi now falling into the gorge before her had nearly captured her, proving how foolish and weak Vinyata had been. She had barley escaped with her life and dignity, as the Jedi was intent on her defeat and brining her to justice.

Seems the tables are turned now b****. Vinyata thought menacingly as she continued to gather her dark side strength. The Jedi was leading the Republic efforts to overtake her Legions position, and if Vinyata let him live he could overrun her Legion and swing the battle in the Republics favor. Not only would the Empire loose valuable high-ground, their forces would be in position to getting flanked. And I will NOT let that happen. Vinyata thought to herself.

Running to the edge of the plateau, Vinyata threw her saberstaff into the air and somersaulted, catching the saberstaff and diving expertly head-long after the falling debris and the Jedi. Vinyata let the adrenaline and sensations of adventure and combat give her strength one last time as she readied herself for the upcoming duel.

Serpent Legion was fighting back ferociously. They were responding to the Republics renewed assaults on their positions with renewed vigor and intensity. The Republic and Imperial forces were exchanging ammunition at an unimaginable rate as the battle intensified ever more rapidly. The battle was reaching it climax, and the victor of the upcoming duel would win this sector of the battlefield, and would put their side ahead in the Battle for Korriban.

Using the force, Vinyata transferred her energy into the ground as she landed with one knee bent, the other on the red rocky canyon floor, and her arms at her side. Vinyata rose menacingly and powerfully, slowly and deliberately. She twirled her saberstaff with finesse in her right hand and activated it, purple blades flashing as lightning coursed up and down them. She glared at the green Jedi 50 feet away who was slowly recovering from his fall, her yellow eyes burning with passion.

As he caught sight of her, she said “Hello there.” seductively and murderously. This duel would be truly epic.

@[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"] would quickly discovered that his lightning-bolt-like strikes had been preempted by an actual lightning bolt. Two of them, as it happened. One arc, which apparently hadn't hit yet, slammed into his first slash; the other into his second. The blasts jammed his sabres back, interrupting his rhythm. The right side of the horizontal lightstaff rose to meet the third strike, as Rasho flipped that hand's grip to hold the lightstaff vertical. A little twist, insanely fast for a Hutt, dealt with the third before it could reach his magnificently vonduun-clad head. Well, not quite before -- it left a shallow scar on the armor. The vonduun crab shivered slightly.

Rasho's lower blade deactivated as he twisted one hand over the other and slashed straight down at prettyboy's guard, intending to bash and then thrust forward at his breastbone. The inert emitter of his lower blade pointed at the center of Rasho's chest.

Sweat covered his body. The strain mentally and physically drained away the fresh springy feeling in his joints. His muscles ached and felt in need of a stretch. A'donari did a larger check of his physical situation now that he appeared to be laying down on the red clay of the planet Korriban. Thinking back, 'I remember fighting. Wasn't I fighting?'

“Hello there.” came a female voice from behind him.

'Oh right, there we are.' A'donari's inner voice cheeky about the daunting situation while he rolled over half heartedly. "Hi little Red Lady. I know why you're here but I took care of this already. See I rented the pool for the entire day." A'donari said groaning some and in a tone he would use to a hotel attendant. He was laying on his side without trying to move or get in a standing position so why not use the opportunity to catch a quick breather.

Balaya moved walking quickly and taking it all in while she went. The sounds of other in Valley and the feelings from the force told her one thing. This wasn't going to be a fun trip across to the tombs for them while she moved picking up some speed her hand still with Eruna. She paid attention to the other sith but they were the ones leading the way right now while the map to the academy came in her ocular implant. Navigating out of here was perfectly fine when the dust and sun came. The explosion from someone blowing up a bridge as sent debris and twisted metal vehicles down below as the sith knight moved remaining vigilant and looking for the jedi. The prototype her master had kept was big enough maybe for two but Eruna had her droid with a ship. They could get out and to the Apotheosis quickly.

Her eyes looked to the trooper on the floor then back to the Sith. The corner of her lip curling up as he spoke, Good .. she thought as she was quite happy to indulge in a little banter to buy time. Her neared him now but remained about five meters away and stopped.

"I am waiting for the Sith to happen .. tell me where is he?", she smiled more. "All I see standing before me is a person scared and all alone, have the Sith tucked tail and run already? that would be very disappointing", she said, her saber ready to be called pulsed in her hand, the force tight in her stomach flowed through her body now and she felt the strength of it giving her energy.

He looked outside to the damaged bridge, and all of the destruction that occurred out in the Valley of the Dark Lords. It was being destroyed, his planet, his home. But he knew he would return, he would and reclaim the only thing that mattered. Korriban.

He continued to hold the lightsaber in his hand. He wasn't letting it go, especially since they had just emerged on the field of battle. if they were attacked, he figured two Sith Knights, and their apprentices would be capable of bringing down any opponents. As long as they were moving solo, or in a duo, they would be dealt with. And if not, well...He could always retreat and get another ship from the hangar bay.

Arvis continued to walk towards the tomb that Eruna had spoken of. He knew all of the tombs, he had explored them all and he learned the names of all of it's inhabitants. At least, the Lords of the Sith who were sleeping within them. "A shame we will not be killing any Jidai today." He spoke as they all hurried.

The ship had landed at the destination and Reela went along with the others to begin secureing the defesive postion for their troops. The few resitance they ran into were cut down easily thanks to the combined strength of Jedi and a squardon of Republic soilders. With most of the area cleared Reela agreed to stay behind with one group while the rest advanced. That was when she began to feel it. Her master, Cinn, he was in danger. The force had reached out to her and she could sense that he was injured. He was in pain. And he was alone. She looked towards where she began to feel it. She could feel his exhsaution and pain from all he'd been through, making her worry if....and just like that she felt the other source. A sith. Not a strong one but still a problem for Cinn in his condition. She had no time to waste. Without another word Reela ran off towards the source. It was far so she needed to pick up the pace, using the force to increase her speed and she ran across the battefeild to reach him.

Into the Valley of the Dark Lords
Objective: Help where needed

Rianna was kneeling next to the body of one of the fallen, the short raspy breaths the eyes that were slowly turning white. The end was near, Rianna tried to make him comfortable he looked at her without seeing but still his senses seemed acute. "You all think you've won, don't you" he whispered. Rianna put her hand on his arm, he clothes blood soaked held that heavy scent of iron so familiar with human blood.

"I don't know if we have, I'm here to ease your pain" He half laughed at her as his head turned away, "ease my pain such a laugh, I claim my pain it makes me" He coughed several times Rianna figured his lungs were filling as he laid there, he could be drowning in his own blood.

"Let me help" She tried again. His head turned back for one instant his eyes blazed red, and then as if that had been his last act to frighten her he stopped moving, stopped breathing. Rianna reached up and closed his eyes. "May the Goddess give you comfort" Death was never easy and for the empathic Rianna it pulled on her emotions, she swallowed hard and then looked ahead. There were more wounded to see to she could feel them, but where were they and why. She had not heard of much fighting on the ground this time, not like before.

Slowly she rose up, exhaling hard centering herself, Rianna moved on.

It was a shame to see Korriban laid to waste as if it were nothing but a chunk of rock and sand. This was the homeworld of the Sith Empire, the origin of their race and culture. He could see the anguish in Arvis when they passed through the Valley of the Dark Lords with Balaya and her apprentice, Eruna. They were safer in numbers, he figured, for a time. But Sith were never meant to coalesce in large groups; that was the recipe for disaster. The outcome? What he saw before him was evidence enough of the Sith Empire's arrogance. Their expansion had cost them all, and their greed knew no bounds. A true Sith knew when to survive, when to preserve himself - Darth Avara intended to do just that, by any means necessary.

He grunted at his apprentice's disappointment that they would see no Jedi fall today. "Be glad that your heart still beats, Arvis," he said, pacing across the sands. "We are the remnants of a ruined empire, and perhaps all that remains of the Sith. Relish in that victory alone."

It was then just like that seem that hell broke loose all round him with firefights, scream of the dying or injured and good mix of chaos rang all round. That Ronin found himself in the middle of and fight along side with most the soldiers whom he came down with.Fighting got quite fierce since then as perhaps the enemy were on to their plans. He began think himself but then in middle of the fight he could have sworn. Hear someone call his name but given all that was happening thus far it all but seem came him. As but whispher .....of not going alone....down the hallway.....engine room....

And just like that the choice were laid down before him....stay stand with the Master Iella to be swallowed up by the advancing Sith and their forces for good of few. Or take the chance go follow the orders set down to him.....to the engine room.

At which time given the choice he in split second took the latter. Head off under the cover of all that was happening he makes it down the hall following the layout he now memorized in his head. Take been shot at and get hit few time with couple scrapes along with one hit square onto his shoulder. Before he got it in his thick head that maybe pick up the pace would be best. As given his stature among them.....as a padawan he had yet build a saber. So as much offense was concerned he had but blasters, skill and wits about him. Which he employed use to best he could get thru it........

Cutting her way through another soldier, Rasu turned to face the next wave of armor clad Imperials. Do they hope to tire us out through strength in numbers? she thought, leaping towards the next set of men, her lightsaber impaling her victim. The Jedi had almost made it to the engine room, or so she thought. Imperial warships were still quite unfamiliar to the Shi'ido and she just hoped that Master Syn, still fighting ahead of her, knew where he was going. The dreadnought was huge, and there was only so much the Force could do to rejuvenate their already tiring bodies.

The Shi'ido's onslaught was suddenly stopped however when a sharp painful essence erupted into the Force. It was there for only a split second before it had faded, leaving the Jedi pondering what could have caused it. Out of nowhere, a Imperial brute appeared in front of the girl, raising his blaster to hit her with the butt end of the rifle. Refocusing on her attacker, she bounded backwards, avoiding major damage from the blow, however her dodge was unable to miss the entire attack, her knee taking a hit, as the rifle glanced of the bony joint. Hissing slightly as pain erupted from her knee, she sent a wave of Force energy towards the man, sending him flying along with the men standing behind him as they were carried with the attack also. Cradling her knee, Rasu sent soothing tremors through the Force, numbing the pain so that she could continue on her run, catching up to the Jedi Master. It would not be long now till they reached their destination.

OBJECTIVE: "SITH HAPPENS" ;)

Talon activated his internal Comm and gave the order. Nearly all of his men began to retreat to his personal transport in the opposite hanger bay from the Jedi.

"Well I would hate to disappoint you. I know how Jedi love an excuse to fight." Talon said before directing the force energy he had been gathering into his body for speed and strength. He sprung forward at the Jedi with a elbow high right to left slash accompanied by a force push. It was yext book Niman, slash then push. He had the motions in his bones but he could feel her power building and he knew survival was on a knifed edge and if he wasn't at his best he'd be dead, but as odd as it was for a Sith to sacrifice their lives his men deserved a chance to see their families.

“Hi little Red Lady. I know why you’re here by I took care of this already. See I rented the pool for the entire day.” The groaning in pain Jedi called back as he rolled on his side agonizingly. What in the name of Marka Ragnos is that supposed to mean? Vinyata thought as she stared down the in-pain Jedi. The dark-side flowing her, she sensed an oncoming force-signature from a mile away. Although she couldn’t see passed the massive canyon walls that surrounded herself and the Jedi as the battle raged around them, she could sense it was another Nautolan. His apprentice? Vinyata thought. I only thought I was going to get the pleasure of killing one Jedi today. A sadistic smile crept upon Vinyata’s face as the Jedi continued to writhe in pain.
Screw it, I’m not waiting for you little pet to arrive. Vinyata thought, starting to dash at the Nautolan Jedi, planning on overtaking him in his weakened state.
As Vinyata dashed toward the Jedi, she saw him try to get up as quickly as possible, which was proving to be slightly difficult for him. He took his lightsaber and activated it. About ten feet from the Jedi, Vinyata lept into the air, contorting her body in a seemingly impossible spin, and brought down the blades of her saberstaff in consecutive order on the Jedi’s lightsaber, which was held in a feeble blocking position. The Jedi was sent reeling from the impact of the blades, and Vinyata used the force to hurl a boulder the size of a speeder at him. The Jedi slashed the boulder with his lightsaber, but Vinyata quickly followed, unleashing a torrent of blows from her purple saberstaff coursing with lightning.

It made sense in his head. A'donari and the entire Republic had showed up uninvited to the Korriban party and now everyone was mad. Just kinda sucked. A'donari called his blade to his outstretched palm while getting to his feet. Sith spinning towards him came in rapidly with a flurry of attacks. A boulder was hurled at his head. It was a good opening but filled with rage. No rhyme or reason for any of it.

Their feet shuffled across the red clay causing dust to pick up into the air while three beams of light licked at each other repeatedly sending out hummmms of cackling while A'donari remained in his defensive Soresu form. Each block A'donari administered with the softest of touches. Only enough force behind his own blade to cause the small Sith's blades to bounce off his own. Was he parched, aching, and partially stiff from the whole picking up a bridge incident? Sure. Was he as weak as his technique was showing? He would let the Sith answer that when all was said and done. For now he had to play his opponent. Young, small, and fast. She had strength welled within and was eager to get rid of it. A'donari had no objections towards that idea what so ever.

A'donari's arm lifted in front of his face, blade intercepting blade from a heavy downward attack, while lightning transferring from one saber to the next crackled menacingly. It licked his already charred Republic armor and cut at his exposed flesh causing a slice across his cheek. The burned skin went almost unnoticed. The favoritism towards the strong aggressive attacks from the woman whose head barely reached his shoulders registered in his mind while he felt the girls saber release from his. Instinctive muscle memory stepped to his right and kicked his left leg backwards; avoiding the opposite end of his opponent's staff as it was pulled upwards and passed without meeting it's mark. Both hands had been gripping his blade. Stepping back to his left at his target he chopped hard at the girls left side, exposed due to her hands being connected to the staff during her attack. His blade carrying the natural strength of the 6'8" Jedi along with the force of the light side still coursing through his body. His mind relaxed and calm. The most devastating addition to the attack, the blast of force, would either release upon connecting with the Sith or while crossing her path in general. A'donari didn't have much care for which it was.

The terrain was ripped asunder and scorching white hot light permeated the air, threatening to both burn, blind, and violently throw the Emperor off his feet.
Krag had little time to respond as the little green man flung himself through the air and began to throw lashes of white hot lightening in what seemed to be every direction. The beast of the Sith quickly drew The Inferno, his Sith Sword, and moved it up to defend against the overpowering strength of the force lightening. The mesh of bone and metal came up in defense of Krag's face, the rare ores absorbing the lightning and storing it as unused energy. Still, Krag grunted as the lightening struck the blade and threatened to send him tumbling backwards and onto his back. Krag defended against the tendrils for as long as he could, but when the little green Jedi landed in front of him and sent a telekinetic strike of lighting and pure energy outwards, the Emperor of the Sith could not longer keep himself upright.

The Graug felt the impacts of the Jedi's searing hot whips of lightening as they burned through his hide of hardened ash and he was sent off of his feet by the telekinetic attack. Krag was thrown through the air, his massive form sailed effortlessly through the air before hitting the ground and sent up plums of sand and dust which spun through the air. Even after the impact with the surface, Krag still found himself tumbling for several more meters and the ride was not all too pleasant. By the end of his role, Krag was several dozen meters away from Tefka with his sword still in hand. The Emperor's head was pounding and he could feel spots all across his face that had been bitten by the Jedi's lightening and had left massive burn marks behind. Standing slowly from his spot on the ground, Krag looked at Tefka with hate and rage filling his eyes.

A slow growl came from deep in his throat before he spoke, "I am more powerful than you can possibly imagine, Jedi! Your ignorance has blinded you to true power, but before you know it I shall send the heads of all your Jedi back to Coruscant on pallets!"

Raising his sword high into the air, Krag focused on the energy that had been stored within the blade from Tefka's attack. With a roar that could shake buildings, Krag struck the blade of the sword against the ground and sent a concentrated surge of powerful force lightening out of the blade and into the ground. The attack was a simple redirection of Tefka's absorbed attack and it was now bulldozing through the ground towards the little green man, the white hot tendrils of lighting turning the sand to glass as it made its way to the Jedi Master.

Leina continued to stroll around as she looked about for the object of her well objective. There was many things they could be doing here and many ways to go about it but none more important then -hiss- She heard it and looked around as the small canyon she was in narrowed and closed. The shimmering shapes in the dust becoming more and more obvious while they moved and the jedi held her hands out while she spoke. "Hiissssss ssssss iiisssss hissss" For a moment her hands went wobbly and the creatures seemed to look at her before roaring and Leina ran jumping over one while the wisties flew about to aggravate them and keep them chasing. "RUNNING TIME." She didn't look back at the eight hssiss dragons chasing her just flailed her arms and kept going

Although Vinyata tried absorbing the force blast that the Jedi had directed at her, she couldn’t prevent herself from being flung into the air. Gathering her energy, she back flipped and softly landed on her feet. Letting the anger and dark side flash through her, she conjured up her force power. Then, Vinyata swung her saberstaff and the saberstaff shot a short bolt of lightning at the Jedi. She quickly followed up the lightning attack by conjuring a force push, letting her emotions and the dark side radiating from Korriban flow through her. The massive surge of the force push attack flowed through her hand and at the Jedi at a deadly quick pace. Not waiting to see what the force attacks did, she quickly charged in after then, deftly unleashing a torrent of strikes with her saberstaff directed at random across the Jedi’s body to prevent predictability.

"You"

He could sense him... He had come to Korriban with the Jedi. They would come, and they would destroy the Sith Empire.... He foresaw it. The Sith could not co-exist. Already, there was too much infighting.... How they were even surviving currently was a miracle.

But there was one on this planet that piqued the Sith Knight's interest. It was time to confront him, once and for all...

Horuset system, Korriban. Sith Academy.

Darth Ayra turned her Lightsaber off, her golden eyes following the fighting, a dead Jedi and a regiment of troopers at her feet. She knew this was a lost battle. Ever since she had seen the Mandalorians burn Dromund Kaas, she knew. The Empire that she loved and wanted to serve had died that day. There was no point fighting here any longer. She had no more love to give.

Rising the cowl of her robe, she clipped her Lightsaber to her utility belt and climbed on a Sith Speeder bike. She would make her way to Dreshdae, uncover her shuttle and then send word to the cadets she had recruited that it was time to go. "Destruction breeds creation," she murmured, as she crossed the vast plains of sand, away from the fighting.
