Here Comes The Freedom Train (The Republic Invasion Of Korriban)

Marek Sh'adar

Searching for peace
For the entire ride over, Devin had been silent. Anyone else on the transport would have mistaken him for a heap of black robes if it wasn't for his slow breathing. In reality, he had just been thinking. From clone, to Sith, to dark jedi, to Jedi, to finally being his own person, he had definitely come a long way. Now, he would be waging war against the Sith as a Jedi. When the finally made it to Korriban, he got up and prepared to drop. Jumping out of the transport in a somersault, he landed silently beside his two brothers, one that brought him to the light, and the oter that kept him from the dark. He was in no mood to smile or make any wise cracks about the Sith. This was a day of reckoning. Looking to Cale and Marek, he nodded and ignited his emerald saber, it's color glistening in contrast against the red sand. It was time to do battle.

Valley of the sith - ridin' in a jedi's robes

To be fair, the dress code was Rasho's choice. To be even more fair, Evan was force sensitive but a slave, not a sith. A shiver ran through her lithe form as the green-being whispered a single word with such power and quietness.

No.

No matter how hard her little digits tried to maintain their grip on his ear, she was wrenched away by an invisible force that only a master could pull off in a concentrated direction without ripping his own ear off or hitting his speeder-taxi friend. Out of instinct, her wings folded close to her body as she sailed through the air only to meet an opposing force that sent her back into Darc's robes.

With a small, whimpering, "oomph," her form slid down, no longer glowing enough to burn, unmoving into the jedi's pocket, or folded robe...whatever he was wearing. Fiery hair remained tangled as it dripped haphazardly across her button-nose. For now, she was an unconscious stowaway on the Tefka-toting- Darc.

The smile remmained on her face at that and there was more as she spoke. "Look around you, really look at our collection. Notice anything missing?" A smile was on her face, what hadn't been taken by Velok when he cleared them out during Tyrin's reign had been moved by Kaine and herself to his vault. A place only three people knew the location of and the smile remained. "Dust and pottery, remain. The rest of it was moved weeks ago and only three people know the location of it. I don't need an electronic archives to rebuild an order when I have the key to the underdark but if you wish to come with me I could find a use for you." Her smile remained while the tac-pad continued to beep. The baktoid implants telling her the progress. "I control the Apotheosis and the underdark as the former hand of the Emperor Kaine."

Having been fighting on that bride, Ace was keeping a close eye on it, providing Vulpesen a chance to escape when a beep sounded in his ear. Opening up his telepathic link, Vulpesen got the gist of what Ace was screaming. Mostly because of the word "BOOM". "FETH!" @[member="Gherron Vael"] would likely have no idea what was going on and thus Vulpesen took matters into his own hands, running over to the apprentice. His senses were going insane as he deflected a few bolts and grabbed onto Vael. "No time to explain, just move!" With those words, he entered a force enhanced jump, bringing the boy with him during the explosion. Ending up just free from the worst of the blast, though the concussion did send him flying with a ringing in his ears. He would survive and continue fighting, but he was going to have a headache for a while.

On the bright side, that same explosion was enough to send him up for Ace to catch him in the ship which then moved as out of range of the booming AA guns. Setting Gherron down, Vulpesen started moving towards his cockpit. "Sorry bout that, but it seems like we're gonna need a new route plan." He hated when sith did things like that. It was a perfectly good bridge, and boom.. it was gone. Still, he was far from out of options. Taking a seat, he took the wheel and started moving through the flak clouds, avoiding as much damage as possible, though he did get a bit scorched on occasion. "Oh by the way, I HATE FLYING!"

The jedi master looked to the two of them, Ronin and Rasu he didn't know well enough to guess on their abilities but he wasn't going to insult them by thinking them inferior to Iella or himself. Just an unknown factor he could work around. "We're going to go through the ship, section by section until we reach the bridge. We need to get a ship wide evacuation to clear of it so we can bring in more people and then we lock down the engines so it can't jump away. Knight Rasu, Knight Wendigo stay with me and Councilor E`ron. We're going to charge the engine room first and then..." The jedi master trailed off when he heard the sounds of more people coming and turned. The saber he drew out from cathar with a black metal hilt finished in golden electrum. The snap hiss of the blade as a slightly unstable containment field made dazzling sparks coming out. The liquid gold blade sang almost as he rushed forward and slashed into the soldiers. "Now move towards the engine room"

For a moment, Avara was confused, but he did not let it show; he couldn't, not in such a tense moment when the walls of the Empire were crashing around them. She wore a smile upon her face, and it spoke of confidence. He could see it himself, she was almost as confident as he was, to the point of arrogance, perhaps. He did his best to relish in the tense situation, as the walls of the Empire crashed around them, the Jedi closing in, and the chaos rife on Korriban. "Dust and pottery? So what is so important that you need to be here when our Empire crumbles?" He paced forward nonchalantly, brushing a gloved finger across the dusty framework of the archive structure. "Left something behind, perhaps?" He turned his masked visage to her, past her, seeing the tac-pad bleeping; she was downloading something from the databank. "Tell me, what can you possibly offer me that could entice me to join you? Besides the vast knowledge of this archive, the Apotheosis, and the underdark, that is."

@[member="Balaya Zambrano"] @[member="Arvis Syphex"] @[member="Eruna Delmarra"]

"Then let's go, Master Zambrano." He said with his own grin behind his mask. He continued to hold the lightsaber in his hand as he stepped out of the way for them to pass through. He looked through the visor of Avara and nodded, just barely. They would go along with them, go to their secret warehouse. Perhaps stay awhile, before completing their own future plans.

He formed the force around in his mind and then expanded it out to get a force sense of their current area. He sensed no one nearby with a completely hostile intention towards them. "Are we sure Lord Krag will be struck down?" He said, before he glanced over at Avara as he spoke.

"You can question that after, Master. The Academy is crumbling." He said, forcefully.

@[member="Balaya Zambrano"] @[member="Eruna Delmarra"] @[member="Adamus Straife"]

"I'd listen to him if I were you, @[member="Adamus Straife"]." Eruna said, actually siding with @[member="Arvis Syphex"] for once. "We don't have a lot of time before the Republic makes their way down here. Either we talk and talk until they show up of we take what we can and make for the Valley where our rides waiting for us. Your choice but I think I know where Master @[member="Balaya Zambrano"] and myself stand."

"The academy is crumbling," Arvis said. Darth Avara looked upwards, and saw dust motes fall about him from the ceiling. So it is, he thought. He had almost forgotten, caught up in the heat of the moment. His enticed behaviour was a flaw he would need to correct, in time. Now was no time to strike bargains, here in the crumbling ruins of an empire. His apprentice, he agreed, was right.
"Then let us leave. Any Sith you see that is too weak to follow, strike them down or leave them to die. The weak perish, the strong survive." He said it to no one in particular, though he knew Arvis would take his advice most of all. He would not tolerate the weakness of a bleeding an injured Sith slowing down his progress; better to die at the end of a blade. Adamus marched forward, past the Smoke Demon that Balaya had summoned and across to the far exit of the archive. Arvis followed. "Come now, my darlings. It appears we don't have all day."

Balaya continued to smile as the tac-pad beeped and her hand went behind her as it came to her hand and she looked at it. The pad clicking onto her wrist and the smile staying there. "Left behind? Well there are more things in these databanks then translated texts and field reports." Her eyes looked over and flickered yellow while she focused on the force and the floor beneath her feet cracked and webbed as it went to the computers, the databanks and the pottery as it cracked, smoked and she worked to destroy it. "The republic is baring down on us." Her wrist came up as she slid a taloned finger along it and licked it again. The spell dissipating while she stayed near Eruna. "Your asking the wrong question, it is not what I offer to you it is that I hold all the cards. The artifacts, the holocrons, the texts and their location. Even where the Imperator is."

Balaya then watched the sight as the rest started to crumble and she moved to the side taking Eruna near her more to let the one pass and his apprentice. "Our ship is by Val'rysses tomb several miles away. Hope your prepared for the walk." The grin remained though while she started to move and motioned for Eruna to come with her. The datapad being accessed by her implants. Her one hand going to her apprentices shoulder to keep her close and the dark'chyld saber was in front of them.

Saki

Came in like a wrecking maul
Saki heard the explosion set off by Vinyata Nicashii and popped her shoulders as she looked over to see the firing soldiers. A smirk playing on her face though to it all as she took off at a run again and clothslined one of the sith troopers letting the metal bracer clip him just under his jaw. She was feeling it now and the loop was closed that inner turmoil and darkness turned into sheer offensive power slightly restrained. The only thing really lucky for some of them was that she didn't have her saber out. Only her bladed fist while she punched into the face of a trooper and his helmet smashed. Then she was off again and bounding into the valley of the dark lords as she went on. The academy was the goal but for now she would settle with breaking down the doors

Descending Towards Korriban
Onboard Dropship Freedom Doesn't Knock

The ship shuddered and bucked as they descended through the atmosphere, with a pair of bright golden eyes watching the altitude display above the closed ramp.

Her beast wanted out, responding to the adrenaline she could practically taste in the air. But Mara had expected no less on a ship full of Republic troopers. Everyone else was seated for the descent, except for her. She couldn’t sit still with a battle so close to hand, and despite the ship’s best efforts, she remained standing with what looked like effortless grace.

Fingers smoothed out the tank top she wore, then brushed across the lightsaber hilt sitting snugly in a sheath on one thigh. On the other, an IR-5 blaster secured in a holster that she checked again for lack of anything else to do.

One of the troopers arched a brow at her choice of blaster, others simply watched her, and the rest just did final weapons and ammunitions checks. Mara shrugged and grinned, continuing her pacing as she resumed watching the altimeter. She stopped briefly, leaning down to ensure that her boots were tied properly and the blades tucked into them remained secure.

Mara walked to what would be the top of the ramp, watching, waiting…and a slow, feral smile curling her lips as the numbers spun ever lower.

If anyone was watching the altimeter, it was Mara, and sure enough... Sarge was watching her watch it. Raising a brow, he tilted his head towards the woman while looking to the Sergeant next to him. Giving the man a knowing elbow, they both shared a quiet chuckle. FNG enthusiasm was the best.

Until you realized you were about to be the first off the ship on a combat drop. The odds of taking a round to the chest the moment the ramp lowered?

Depressingly high.

"UP.", he barks, voice carrying easily across the noisy interior of the dropship. It was the voice of a man who'd shouted that same order countless times before and knew how to throw authority into it.

As one, the troopers and Sarge unbuckled themselves and stood, taking hold of the straps hanging from the ceiling that helped stabilize the weight of their gear.

Stepping up behind Mara, hand clasped around a loop of thick fabric, he looked to the altimeter then her as the lights in the cabin dimmed and became a dull red.

Once it hit green, the ramp would lower and they could leave.

Not before.

"You ready?"

Nico looked at Kiskla and gave a nod of her head while letting out a breathe and focusing when the councilors orders came.. Not the most inspiring but hey it was the place to be and the -pop- and -snap hiss- as the blade and shield came into place on her gauntlets was more then enough. The smirk while she moved to join a councilor of all people in the endeavor to take one of the sith ships only served to please her and she was hoping for something to come and stop them.

Ordo's fleet advanced on the nearest Sith vessels.

"Launch two groups have them target engines on my signal." Ordo said "get me a line to their fleet."

Ordo put on his Buy'ce.

"This is Ordo of Aliit Ordo." He said "lower your shields and power down your weapons or be fired upon. This is your only warning."

"Lead the way then" He said, waving his hand forwards. "It is your ship." He said, and he bowed to the lady master Zambrano and nodded curtly at her apprentice, Eruna, the red lethan twi'lek. He would have to respect her for the time being, they could still be rivals at the least however. The only thing that would have to be set is that they do not kill each other however, that wouldn't help the Sith of the future now would it?

It was indeed a good plan however the Jedi didn't have time to think it over, as Imperial soldiers already made their way into the hangar. Republic troops were shot down as they attempted to maintain their ground, falling to the precise shots of Imperial blasters. Turning towards the source of the sound, Rasu witnessed the deaths of the first few soldiers, watching helplessly as their bodies fell to the ground, a smoking wound burning through their armor. Igniting her lightsabers, she filled the surrounding area with green and yellow light, her blades humming as she began to batter bolts aimed at the Jedi, returning them back into the crowd, wounding those that had chosen to attack. Breaking into a run, she matched her pace with Master Syn, continuing to catch the deadly streaks of energy on her blade, directing them back either away from the Shi'ido and her comrades, or returning them to the being who had fired the shot, a scream indicating it had found it's mark.

Within a heart-beat she was upon the Imperials, her blades a blur. Green intermixing with yellow, her weapons hungrily sunk in to each Imperial; severing a limb, piercing a heart or decapitating a head, all fell to her lightsabers. As the last soldier collapsed, the life leaving his eyes, Rasu turned to face Master Syn who was already a few meters in front of her, golden lightsaber still in hand as he continued his journey towards the engine room. Picking up her pace, she slowly closed the distance between the two, taking a glimpse behind her to make sure the other two Jedi were following. They had survived the first wave of soldiers that the dreadnought had within, however there were still much more difficult opponents on the ship, now aware of the Jedi's presence.

KORRIBAN
ABOARD THE ACERBATIS
OBJECTIVE: SLOW JEDI

Talon could feel it as the troops died. The presence of life quickly extinguishing as their lives were taken by the Jedi. It was a loss Talon had hoped not to have happen but he was not the highest ranking member on board nor was he in charge of the regular troops. His people were Commandos and he hoped to give many a chance to live. He drew more deeply on the force and closed his eyes the Jedi would be powerful and he knew it, but he would hold them somehow. He had too.

They were definitely heading his way.
'They must be planning to cripple the engines' he thought. There was no other reason to follow the route they seemed to be taking, but he couldn't be sure as he only felt a few presences. Talon regulated his breathing as they drew closer and activated his armor. The armor began to glow with a bright yellow white light, it could do nothing other than cast light, but they didn't need to know that. Two republic troops who had evidently gotten too far ahead of the group rounded the corner to come face to face with Talon. The hesitated for a moment before firing on the Sith knight. The red bolts snapped into life and streaked at him leaving the smell of superheated artificial atmosphere hanging in the air. Talon caught two bolts and sent them back at the troops striking one in the chest. The other was hit in the arm and went down on the deck. Talon took a step then leapt forward bringing his silver blade down on the man's weapon arm severing it at the shoulder. The trooper would live unlike his companion but his pain was intense.

"Thank you soldier," Talon said calmly "Your Jedi friends will notice your pain soon enough."

Talon didn't like the idea he had come up with but he needed the Jedi distracted and he couldn't beat multiple Jedi at one time with out a hole card. Talon leaned down and took off the troopers helmet. The mans face reflected back at him in Talon's visor.

"I'm sorry but this is going to hurt." he said to the troop as he stabbed a finger into the man's wound. The man screamed like a banshee and talon stopped and knocked the man out with a palm strike to the chin. He could only take so much of the man's howl. He stood back up from his kneeling position and dragged the man back away from the corner and lay him behind his position. With his unconscious hostage at his back Talon assumed his stance. His stance was wide and open, with his silver blade held out from his body in a one-handed grip, his blade was angled upwards and back, while his off-hand was folded across his chest with feet evenly spaced. Here they came....

Iella moved with Syn and Rasu toward the engine room. Moments later they encountered imperial soldiers and engaged them, Syn leading the charge and Rasu not far behind him, but Iella hesitated. Something was pulling her in another direction, the force guiding her to the left. Syn and Rasu had the advantage and soon would break the line of the soldiers. Iella sent a telepathic message to Rasu and Syn.

Get to the engine room, I will buy your time to disable the ship.

Without explaining further, Iella took the first corridor to the left. The force guiding her toward a presence close by, then she heard a piercing scream from a man in pain, as she turned the corner she looked upon the Sith standing by a trooper. He would not be able to sense her as her presence is concealed by the necklace, as is Syn, however he would be able to sense Rasu only. Her blade ignited, the White pulsing light from her saber filling the corridor, it sang to her ... the krayt dragon's pearl within the blade filling her with the essence of the female dragon, the familiar growl rolled up from her stomach and into her mouth and remained there ready to be summon. The white swirl of mist ... collected in her mouth and only the smallest amount escaped between her lips, it too is ready to taste the darkside.

She said nothing to the Sith but started to walk toward him. Although her presence is hidden, eventually he would see her.

"Oomph!" Gherron was caught by surprise as the other Jedi scooped him up into a force leap. He was fine, but the mere sound of the explosion was enough to give him a massive migraine, and dizzied him a little. Shaking it off, he got up, brushed himself off, and brandished his lightsaber once more. "Well that was fun", he said sarcastically. "Now what? The bridge is out." Looking down from the ship, he saw the entire battle taking place, Sith and Jedi everywhere in their own little skirmishes. "So... Do we just fly in then?"
