Here Comes The Freedom Train (The Republic Invasion Of Korriban)

Endless waves of Imperial soldiers seemed to leak through the walls of the dreadnought. Is there any end to it all? the Shi'ido thought, fighting the flood of fatigue that she was slowly drowning in. After picking up a man thought the Force, she threw him into the final two soldiers, flinging the trio into a wall where they lay there motionless. Taking the most of the short reprieve, Rasu turned to the Jedi Master, watching curiously as he took a swig from a small vial, green mist rising from the opening in the top. Accepting the bottle from the human, she brought the vial up to her nose first, inhaling the fumes that escaped through the top. Immediately she felt a buzz shoot through her body, her mind suddenly losing it's fogginess, becoming as sharp as it was when she arrived. What is this? she thought, bringing the bottle up to her lips as her fellow Jedi had done. As the green liquid ran down her throat, her body was awoken from it's haziness, her sore and tired muscles suddenly rejuvenated by the fire that circulated throughout her bloodstream. Returning the vial back to Master Syn, she gripped her weapons with renewed enthusiasm, her body and mind ready for whatever task lay ahead of them.

When the Jedi had finished sending his message to the other pair of their strike team, the Shi'ido and human set off again, leaving a trail of armor and burning carcasses for Iella and Ronin to follow. With her fatigue washed away from the mysterious liquid, Rasu fought with a fresh vigor. Her swings becoming more accurate, and her mental attacks were performed much swifter than previously, the mixture had done it's job well. To Rasu's relief, soon the sound of whirring turbines and buzzing power cores, indicated their arrival to the engine room. Heat hit the Shi'ido's face as soon as the pair passed through the blast door.

Turning to face the Jedi Master, she deactivated her sabers, asking the for the next part of Syn's plans. "What are your orders now Master?"

KORRIBAN
APPROACHING SITH FLEET

"Sir, no response from the Sith fleet." the communications officer reported.

"Good, I wanted to do this the hard way." Ordo replied as he checked the Tactical display. "Have our fighters hold back and defend the Frigates while they hit the Sith caps. I want debris fields in one hour."

Ordo walked back to the communications officer. "Ner Vod get me a secure republic frequency." He said as he thought about how much more he preferred being in a fighter.

"Done Buir." the young woman replied

"Good work Ad'ika." Ordo said before addressing the Republic Fleet, "Republic Fleet this is Ash'amur-class Star Destroyer 'Cabur be Ordo'. Be advised we are preparing to open fire on the Sith fleet, I say again we are preparing to open Fire on the Sith Fleet. If you have people on those ships now would be a shabla good time to tell me."

Ordo walked back to the Tactical display and wait for an answer. "How long before we have firing solutions for the Acerbatis?"

"90 seconds Buir." the gunnery officer replied.

"I want that ship venting atmosphere from it's important bits or this will be our new home savvy?" Ordo said as he did his best pirate impersonation.

Reela Witko

Nautolan. Princess. Jedi.
@Vinyata Nicashii @Count Aretine @A'donari Cinn

Reela finally made it to her master. She arrived just in time to have seen the Sith, with a two sided saber, attack him. Reela wasn't sure how long or how much longer her master Cinn could've stood to fight her which meant Reela had to intervine. She activaed her saber and blocked the next attack she'd made for master Cinn before pushing her back and away. Reela looked back to Cinn and nodded, indicating she had this, before looking back to the sith and stepping foward.

"You want to fight a Jedi, then pick on someone your own size!" she challanged the Sith, standing in the Shii-cho position.

Location: On board the Acerbatis
Objective: Dispatch the Sith

Iella had received the message through the comlink, however she could not respond as her blade arced around to block a strike from the Sith's second blade. Having fought against the Sith on many occasion, Iella noted his strike did not have any real conviction behind them which puzzled her to say the least. Either his heart no long thirsted for the kill or he too is buying time or both.

As her block come to his second blade, Iella shifted her weight on to her left leg allowing her to rapidly send a front kick with her right aimed for the lower abdomen her heel in the lead and would hit the soft part of his stomach, the armour would protect him somewhat but the force strengthening the kick which would send him flying toward the wall. Her leg found firm ground again and she raised her saber ready to counter any further strike.

As his opponent closed the distance, Vulpesen prepared for the attack, easily taking notice of the power concentration in his hand. It would take and idiot not to notice and guess what a sith would do with such power and thus, his saber was flying up into position long before the attack was sent, coming in front of him to intercept the lightning. Splitting the weapon and putting it into an X formation, Vulpesen was able to takea way the brunt of the attack, feeling only a few shocks which he was able to shrug off.

With @[member="Darth Naefas"]' next attack, Vulpesen used as little of his own abilities as possible to block it, using just enough to prevent any damage. Flying backwards, the shadow executed a quick flip which set him into a crouching position which then sprung into a fast leap, setting him behind the sith from where he launched three daggers, two at the sith, and one at the demon. Naefas might have been power, aggression, and rage, but Vulpesen was a hard fox to catch and his constant moving was enough to set most of his opponents on their toes. He doubted this simple opponent would find himself as an exception.

Trying to fend off both the smoke and the Sith, Gherron blocked and parried anything that came his way. It was now that he was grateful for his soresu training. Without it, he'd be toast. Coughing from the smoke, he felt his mind go wild with a fear that was no his own. The dark side spirit tried to grasp at his mind, then started to become solid for a few seconds. Following his ally's approach, he jabbed his lightsaber deep into the being, ripping upward before send another powerful slash at th Sith. Building up a powerful force push, he directed it at his enemy and released it with a yell. The force energy would hit him right in the chest, and with the power put into it, would likely push the Sith back, or disorient him at the least.

"If you want to fight a Jed, then pick on someone your own size!" The apprentice called out as Vinyata spun away from her. More anger channelled its way through Vinyata at this new interference, fuelling her with more strength. This apprentice was interfering when her master was weak and battered, and Vinyata could have overpowered him.

Using the force, Vinyata reached out to evaluate the battle. The Republic was focussing on eliminating the AA batteries, and were having more success than Vinyata wanted. She was glad her troops were equipped with homing missile launchers and other heavy weaponry in case the AA turrets took more than acceptable casualties. The fight was wearing down on both sides, the Republic was near exhausting its resources in order to hedge Serpent Legion and its forces from their defensive positions. Destroyed tanks, walkers, speeders, dropships and dead soldiers were littering the red landscape as shrapnel flew through the air and explosions carved deep craters into the surface of Korriban. Although the Serpent Legion's defensive positions were adequately holding out, both sides were starting to feel the wear of the battle weighing down upon them. She had no doubt her legionaries could win the battle, but Vinyata as their commander had to hold off these Jedi long enough to halt the Republic advance and allow time for the armored battalion coming in to reinforce her troops. I will not fail my soldiers. Vinyata thought protectively. Exhaling, Vinyata let the desire for victory, her attachment to her soldiers, and her hate for the Jedi accumulate, furthering her connection to the dark side, her dark aura could be felt even by those who couldn't sense the force.

Using her pent-up power, Vinyata reached out to the apprentice and pulled at her through the force. In her manner of attacking, Vinyata quickly followed up the force pull by breaking off two speeder-sized chunks of red rock from the ground and whisked them at the apprentice. The battle erupting around them, Vinyata reached out through the force and grabbed two missiles. Then, she pointed them both at the Jedi Knight, launching one rocket at his right flank and another at his left flank to prevent him from guarding his apprentice from her attacks. To add to her sheer unpredictability, Vinyata activated her force cloak, waiting to see the Jedi's reaction to this.

It was then that closer and closer they broke thru to make it close into the engine room. And once there looking about he began search for main control panel. Or anything close to it in order to get work......of which having bit of background work with ship engine. He had some idea of what do if he had time. Of which glance round a bit he figured the other Jedi were doing such nice work of doing.

It was made clear to the Jedi that conventional projectiles and weaponry did not harm the demon. It took the clumsy defense of one Jedi Padawan to make known the true flaw of this manifestation of the dark side; the lightsaber. The demon continued his assault of the Padawan until two daggers shot through the Force went straight through him; it did him no harm, and instead his smoky essence let them pass right through him undeterred - as if he were not there at all. Unfortunately for the Padawan, he was very much there, and his own master's daggers were heading right for his body. The Padawan managed to deal some damage to the demon with the lightsaber, leaving a malicious gash across the summoning's chest; and then the Force push cast him away. Avara's face twitched in amusement. "Think fast, Padawan." He watched the Jedi Knight's daggers soar. The demon lurched to his feet, hissing with smoke, his weakness exploited. It was all in good measure. While the Jedi Knight and his apprentice wore themselves down, Avara drew on the dark side, empowering and bolstering his reserves. These were formidable enemies, and on even ground they might stand a better chance. But on Korriban, the homeworld of the Sith, with a natural nexus behind him, Darth Avara was unlikely to be halted.

His foot slammed forward meeting the earth in a smashing manner. Reela having stepped in at the worst time and causing him to alter his crippling blow as to not hit her. Taking advantage the Sith didn't. A'donari watched her stand in place, just looking around, for a few seconds. Acting quickly he rushed forward using the force to enhance his speed before force enhancing his body while jumping sending him sailing towards the hole in the Academy wall where a ship seemed to have landed in it.

Vulpesen was not an idiot. He was smart enough to send his daggers high, aiming at the demon's head and high torso. aiming to shoot his weapons over the apprentice's head. Though one would be headed towards the younger Jedi, Vulpesen would call upon the force to alter its direction, aiming it away from the padawan and calling it back to his hand. As the @[member="Darth Avara"] was focusing on @[member="Gherron Vael"], and @[member="Darth Naefas"] was behind him with a slash, Vulpesen was able to keep his eye on the happenings of his partner, using his force sense to warn him of any attacks that Naefas might execute from behind. Vael's connecting saber strike did not go unnoticed to Vulpesen as prepared for another assault from the sith.

The summoning would be safe from his daggers for now, but he still had full intentions to attack it later, once the correct moment presented itself. As for the demon's affect on his mind, Vulpesen was constantly at war with himself, combating the darkness within. This extra burden was nothing to him. His will was strong and tested by the sith artifacts he often sought out. With his few weaknesses hidden away into safety, Vulpesen had no fear for his sanity in this particular fight.

Dozens of enemy troops had fallen to the Count's blade as the battle raged on. He had been a careful stalker, knowing that his combat style was less effective against groups of projectile wielding enemies. And so he had picked them off one by one, surprising the men from behind walls and pillars as they advanced, cutting them down and leaving their hewn bodies on the ground for the rest to see. Now he would seek out the Jedi themselves, who were advancing on the Academy. He advanced on the battle between A'donari Cinn a Padawan, and an unknown Sith, and made the decision to intervene and end the fight in favor of the Sith.

The Count was fresh for battle, and this was his true milieu in which he was most comfortable. Saber-to-saber combat would play directly into his advantages, he knew. As Cinn made for a hole in the wall, the Count suddenly appeared before him on the outside of the hole, cornering him in there.

"I cannot allow you to go any further."

Aretine gave Cinn the graces of a quick Makashi salute before slipping back into his first fighting stance of choice, crouching low and pointing his blade forwards with one hand. His free hand called forth a torrent of insidious lightning, cackling towards the Nautolan Jedi violently.

Korriban
Location: Acerbatis
Objective: Get around @[member="Iella E`ron"]

The Jedi's foot struck his abdomen like a stone and he fell backwards. He drew on the force and rolled with the momentum regaining his footing. He needed to find a way to get the upper hand but he was genuinely tired of killing. He stuck out his hand and let the darkside course through his body to form a violet lightning which he released at her. She would catch it or dodge he was sure but it didn't matter.

He focused his mind breifly while sustaining the lightning long enough to send a thought.

"Go, Jedi" he said to her mind, "please just go."

He was tired of sensless displays of power and needless expansion, but most notably he was tired of delivering posthumous promotions to young troopers families. It was time for him to go.

Talon let go of the lightning and drew him self into a Jar'kai stance. His body turned at a sharp angle left side forward. With luck she would leave but Jedi tended to do the opposite of what he wanted.

All that was left was to get around her and to his ship. The Acerbatis could burn...

Reela Witko

Nautolan. Princess. Jedi.
@Vinyata Nicashii

Reela wasn't expecting the force pull, making her try to dig her feet into the ground when the Sith did. She was lucky she could hold as best she could before the Sith flung two rocks at her. One Reela jumped away from the other she used her saber to cut in half. When it all cleared she looked around, trying to find where the sith went. Cloacking tech of some kind. It had to be the case. Just because she couldn't see her with her eyes didn't mean Reela couldn't use the force to find her. She closed her eyes for a moment and reached out with the force before senseing her presence. The moment she did she sent a force push in her direction to knock her back. After that she came in with a saber strike for her side, giving a sweeping motion.

A few feet inside the Sith Academy
@[member="Count Aretine"]

A few steps into the dark cool Academy was all he had gotten before a figure, standing behind him in the hole he had just entered through, shouted at him. "Why? Did you want a signature?" A'donari said with a calm smile on his face. The blood that had crusted thanks to the lightning from before licking his cheek broke open again when he showed the friendly emotion.

The mans response was a solute right before unleashing more lightning at A'donari. The strength of the attack much stronger than the apprentice's. It was something he didn't wish to deal with at the moment but wouldn't have been able to dodge in time. Dropping back into Soresu he dealt with the incoming assault. Blade, held out in front of his face while running down the length of his left forearm, intercepted the beams of hot white. Even with both hands holding firm his arms shook violently.

Saki

Came in like a wrecking maul
@[member="Gherron Vael"] @[member="Vulpesen"] @[member="Darth Avara"] @[member="Darth Naefas"]

Saki kept running, the building up her energies and the breaking of random soldiers enough for now as it all came about and she bullrushed towards the other two jedi she could see. The loop was all she needed as she ran up some rocks and jumped. leaping high with the force under her, in her legs until she peaked and started to come down. That inner darkness touched but not partaken of, the lessons from Darron Wraith and practice session with Iella fresh in her mind before she clenched a fist and pushed the force into it. Physical enhancement had proven to be her gift along with raw wrecking balls levels of destruction, her fists came down as the slightly armored jedi punched the ground releasing a quake.

Around her with a shockwave and repulse of force energy while the sigil on her neck glowed, the force battery and mental shield giving exactly what she needed to keep going aside from just enjoying the fight. The smoke demon to her looked more like what she feared most. Pretty things, or that level one fell to if they just conformed and agreed. That wasn't in her blood or in her wanting as clenched both fists and stood up. The sights of the two sith more then enough to get her moving again while she punched with the force, with vaapad strikes and touched that part of her Josiah had seen and sought to curb that Darron had trained to be a weapon. The force rippling from her fists and with a bicycle kick her feet in shadowstrikes that distorted the air as they attempted to bash and beat the pairs faces in. If they did concussive force that was just slightly stronger then being punched by a ham, but if they didn't she was still coming.

Dropship Freedom Doesn't Knock
Droppin' 'cause it's hot
Courtyard, Sith Academy

@[member="Sarge Potteiger"]

The dropship's pilot came over the comm, calling out last minute enemy positions as they swept towards the surface. Mara took her eyes off of the altimeter, turning instead to look at Sarge over her shoulder. The lights flashed a dull red which made her slitted golden gaze appear a hellish shade of orange.

Was she ready? Of course she was.

She knew this was where she belonged, she knew the dangers, and she also knew the statistics involving dropping into a hot zone. The courtyard of the Sith Academy was a maze of rubble from the bridge that had been destroyed, along with the carcass of a ship and several jettisoned escape pods. The latter had been used as weapons themselves, jettisoned at just the right moment to knock gaping holes in the Academy's walls before becoming part of the landscape.

Mara was a predator, pure and simple...this was going to be a glorious hunt.

"Absolutely." she replied a moment later, the purr gone completely from her voice, only to be replaced with a growl that sounded out of place for such a slender and deceptively delicate form. Some of the troopers looked askance at her, but had the control to say nothing in response. Which was best...and quite appreciated. She couldn't always control her beast with her adrenaline and anticipation running so high, and the last thing she needed to deal with was the guilt that came along with snapping at someone unnecessarily.

The dropship banked and her body thrummed with anticipation as the ramp began to lower.

Mara nodded and turned forward once more, counting down under her breath...

"Three..."

A deep breath.

"Two..."

A single glance back over her shoulder. Feral gold meeting steady ebony.

"One-"

Gone was the slender woman, and in her place was the auburn-furred predator bristling with spikes and elongated, saber-like fangs.

The light went green and Mara was off like a shot, letting loose a cavernous roar as she tore into the line of Sith troops closest to their drop point. Whatever they had expected to come off that dropship, she wasn't it.

The padawan had reacted well to the hurling rocks, even if the force pull had destabilized her. With skill the padawan proceeded to take the offensive, and launched a spinning attack at Vinyata's side. Twirling the hilt of her saberstaff in her hands, the purple blades spun and deflected the Lightsaber of the padawan, purple lightning crackling outward with each contact the blades made with each other. Summoning her seemingly infinite reserve of energy she was gaining from her powerful emotions and the dark side nexus of Korriban, she hurled a powerful force push at the padawan after shuffling her feet deftly to gain separation. Quickly following up her attack, Vinyata took her right hand off the hilt of her saberstaff and with her assassin gauntlet shot two star-shapped blades out after the padawan. @A'donari Cinn@[member="Reela Witko"]@[member="Count Aretine"]

Courtyard, Sith Academy

If there was one thing neither Sarge nor the troopers had entirely expected, it was for a gigantic jungle feline to launch itself from their dropship like a heatseaking missile. That didn't stop him from laughing though as he took calm steps down the ramp and the clones filed out on either side of him, weapons up and readied.

Already, he smelled the scent of charred flesh and melting metal, the curious mixture of smells associated with wars now; it was a world apart from the old smell of gunpowder and dead flesh. Charred was, pound for pound, worse in his opinion.

Especially when more kept getting added.

Reaching to his belt he took a grip on the hilt of his saber and tugged it from its holder. Bringing it up in front of him, he activated the silver blade and sent himself - through a high, vaulting jump - into the fray alongside Marakai.

They wouldn't be able to help anyone until they cleared enough room to figure out what was going on, but until then... killing Sith wasn't a bad way to spend the day.

Reela Witko

Nautolan. Princess. Jedi.
When Reela felt the force push coming she instanlty shielded herself with her arms, a lot of good that did as she was still knocked back. She fell to the ground but fliped backwards onto her feet in time as the Sith came towards her. When she shot the blades towards her Reela spun her saber in front of her in a cicular motion to block them away. When she recovered she spun the blade up to her right hand where she changed foward and began to attack with a number of fast jabs to the Sith's side. Each time she made a jab she'd bring the saber back to a defensive pose to block any counter attacks she tried. She wanted to keep the Sith occupied long enough for her master to do what he needed, not realizing another Sith had gotten in his way.
