The giant worm is right outside the front door of the archives and knocked down the front wall. One side or area just got blasted out. The whole structure has suffered significant damage and explosives inside from early on, correct? Is it safe to assume it's on the verge of collapse now?

The actual shockwave that explodes organs etc would have been contained by the walls. However, the walls themselves were turned into rubble so you'd probably get sprayed by debris.
