[member="Darth Vulkan"], my intention would be to turn her over. If she refuses to go, you and I need to come up with another way to resolve the situation IC, as I don't think someone's OOC decision (.i.e. Ali's writer telling us she's not budging, full stop) should cause war between two factions.

[member="Jack Sparrow"] [member="darth vulkan"]

If that is the decision, then go for it. Contact SSC people or GA people and let's get this moving.

You've said you have assets as a spy, you'll likely be working with a bounty over your head for a while. As with everything, though, this too shall pass.

This is after Ali has met with the woman and learned about the brain chips, the events before and during, etc, and other factors. Plus, I know Keira's writer and she's solid stuff. Crappy stuff happens all the time in Star Wars. You have about a dozen Jedi and Sith on this site right now that all used to be Sith or Jedi, and any transgressions of the past are forgiven because they switched sides. So unless YOU want the job, it was just a logical step for Ali as a character, from her position in things.
Not talking oocly.

I'm talking icly -- that in it self is going to really reap a heck of a lot of consequences. Especially with the Corporate Alliance, because the Senate is trying to state that nothing of the sort will ever happen again.

That is hard to believe when the right hand woman who was part of the former Prime Minister's Coup is the leader of the Republic Military.

It is true that at the end of the day the writer of the character has the final say in what happens to said character, according to board rules. But that's easily resolved: make a public/faction thread where the Republic moves to arrest Ali Hadrix pending investigation and trial. Then the ball is in her court and her writer can whatever she wants to.

If that means escape? At least the Republic can say in honest truth that they did what they 'could' in the boundaries of what the board rules allows them them to do.

Bounties aren't much to worry about. Gosh, I had a couple of them since the summer. Many attempts were made to cash in and only recently did one actually work!

[member="Khyros Sunblade"]

You're a great new asset from what I've been able to quickly read on my coffee breaks :)

@Everyone else

It's difficult, especially for one person to run such a huge faction, especially for the first time. I can only do so much with rl getting in the way. I don't have absolute power in the faction forum, so I can't fix things that people make me aware of.

And with my own character homeless/penniless/jobless and waiting for threads to continue so that I know what to do with her, well I certainly can relate to people being frustrated.

I haven't written with everybody yet, though I hope to eventually. But communication is key. As far as I'm aware, the Mando terms haven't even been presented to the rest of the Senate or to Jack. Other things have been getting in the way. That bounty was WAY too premature, but it just goes to show how impatient others can be.

If there are issues/complaints/concerns/questions, then I encourage people to talk directly to those involved. It'll save a lot of headaches both ooc and ic. Trust me.

Coffee break is over. I'll check in later.

Thank you, I plan to stick around a while.

I can confirm that neither the Senate, nor Jack has been presented with the terms.

Seeing as the Mandalorian invasion was RL weeks after the initial post that spawned all of this poodoo, but set only hours after I am feeling like a little leeway is warranted to us (the GR) and that the Mandos can wait until we've been given the list that Ember gave Faith.

And seeing the way the wind is blowing, if we decide to place this "within hours" of the terms being given to Faith, it is going to make some people look mighty foolish with their ultimatums.

All I am saying is people need to give leeway where they take leeway, the Senate is currently trying to work this all out.

[member="Khyros Sunblade"]

Terms weren't given to Faith. She and Draco left prior to them being reached and returned to Alderaan. Kay was given terms.

Also, there was no ultimatum, no time limit, no OR else actually given. Heavily implied, sure, you could argue that. What it did do was make a lot of you guys aware on an OOC and IC level this was even happening. How many of yall even knew there was an IC Negotiating thread? How many knew what terms had been reached on an OOC level?

Also, for the record, Draco waited 5 days to issue that broadcast.

[member="Darth Vulkan"]

My point was that the Mandalorians were allowed to post an invasion with Lasedri as the scape goat long after the Lasedri OP while still saying it was within hours.

[member="lady kay"] has not spoken with Jack or the Senate about terms yet, probably because of other issues, but it wouldn't have taken long to bring the terms to the Senate. The Senate deciding is another thing, but it seems you have shoe horned us into taking at least five days with the deliberating, otherwise if we "decide within hours" of Lady Kay being given the terms to completely abide by them then your post at best doesn't happen and gets retconned and at worst makes Vulkan seem out of the loop.

And I was aware that there was a negotiation thread, but Khyros was not involved with it. If Khyros knew about the terms then he'd have already brought them to the Senate and this part of the debacle would be done with.

Which type of census, the type that counts population, or a census pollster that gets people's opinions on topics?

Either way, it is an amusing image. Giant armored Hutt either walking down the street, knocking on a door and asking for a head count, or sitting outside of a mall asking people to fill out a questionnaire.

Kay hasn't presented the terms because the thread has stalled as I'm sure Jack is super busy....lol. So it's just for ooc reasons, nothing ic.

Sneaking back to work now ....

Would everyone be alright if I started up a thread, either in the Senate subforum, Private public forum, or Open public forum to get this moving along?

Along with that, could I get a link to the full list of terms or a copy of them?

As prelude to any possible sending of people away, Ali would have to be tried by a Republic court or Judiciary committee that then agrees with extradition to another authority. This can be done in person or in absentia.

My idea was to start a thread with a Judiciary committee, as we don't have a court system set up. I'd take the Chair of the committee and invite the other active Senators to be the rest of the committee.

Sounds?

I think [member="Ali Hadrix"] would agree to a neutral trial, and if not I'm sure Captain [member="Jack Sparrow"] can issue a warrant for her arrest, really I think from an OOC standpoint we are done and this is as good as the situation will get.

As for [member="Keira Ticon"] becoming the new supreme commander, [member="Danger Arceneau"] I wouldn't worry since it's not Ali's decision to decide who replaces them. ICly the supreme chancellor aka Captain Jack Sparrow has to decide who to fill the void with. And I don't imagine he's going to be picking Keira. Also the character recently had children so I don't imagine she's going to be running off to become the new leader of the republic military. Keira's writer is a cool guy and I'm sure he understands the situation. Let's just let this play out IC

I remember that and I appreciated the efforts. I’m sure Faith did as well.

[member="Khyros Sunblade"]

I don’t know you well enough not to trust you – give me a reason and that’s an entirely different story. I wish you the best of luck as I had tried for several years but that doesn’t quite work.

[member="Ali Hadrix"]

I wrote the Republic long before you were even a whisper on the website, as have a few remaining GR members. Alderaan was a big issue. Alderaan had requested aid numerous times. Alyesa ended up going to [member="Danger Arceneau"], [member="Popo"] and other sources outside of the Republic – to include her own company funding relief efforts while Faith continued to hammer against the Senate. No one even bothered to blink. Again, as I stated – the threads were deleted by former Faction Administrators and Owners. I cannot speak as to why.

Gir Quee should/would know of the requests made.

Lasedri was one of the primary reasons and pushes behind the dissent on Alderaan, Hadrix was just the ignition point.

My reason for OOC mistrust is the inability to accept responsibility for actions. That is the mistrust.

IC Wise, well Alyesa has been screwed over by the Republic numerous times despite all she has done – so you’re pretty much out of luck in that avenue.

Note: It would take a miracle for any Republic member to convince Alyesa to back down from her current position.

[member="Alyesa Organa"]

The only problem as I see it, is that it would take an invasion to wrest control of Alderaan away from the Republic. That is a lead in to a war that neither the Republic nor the Mandalorians can truly win.

I can understand that Alyesa is fed up with the Repubic, but Lasedri is gone. Hadrix is in the process of getting gone (though I know that isn't the main issue), and there is new blood in the Senate. Jack isn't the type of Chancellor that the Republic has ever had, and Khyros isn't going to let another Lasedri happen on his watch.

So, you can push for the war that no one wins, or you can let IC things happen. Talk to us new folk, don't just try to rip the Republic apart because of people who aren't here anymore.

[member="Khyros Sunblade"]

I truly think you underestimate the Mandalorians overall.

I'm not pushing for anything. My character is a different story. She desires neutrality and respect for her sovereignty. She doesn't want to have happen what happened before and the bureaucrats within the Republic to stand by and do nothing. Beyond that - Alderaan is in a position that it never has been before, it holds a significant military strength.

Don't presume I won't let things happen IC, but also don't presume I will just let my character do something against her design.
