Moonlight Lekku

"It's pretty quiet around here now," he replied with a shrug. "The door cameras will be the problem I guess."

He stepped out into the corridor. Individual units branched off it. For now Choli and Trextan had their own rooms, but given they were now past the worst of it, it wouldn't be long before they were moved into a room with four beds.

Trextan headed for the nurse's station and walked past them boldly. One of them was checking a chart, the other doing a crossword. The camera feeds say unwatched.

"Quick," he murmured as he made for the door. He hadn't realised the patches were location trackers.

He didn't have to tell her twice. Choli went darting alongside him, the pair quickly moving through the door to get to the other side. There they quickly turned around the hall, getting a peek to see if there were any other droids or nurses. Nothing, so far so good.

On the nurses monitors, two little green dots with aurebesh designators began to move.

"What were you thinking just walking past them like that" choli asked, amused as much as shocked that he just went ahead and did it.

"Well we walked past it so often... Did you see they didn't even look up at us?" Trextan was grinning, the mortifying embarrassment of earlier forgotten for now. The corridors were dark, but IR sensors put the banks of lights on dimly as they went.

"At least you can walk on your own this..." Trextan stepped across her. "Quick!"

His artificial arm wrapped around her waist, nearly lifting her from her feet as he sidestepped into an open door.

"Scrubs again," he barely whispered as the sound of voices approached. It occurred to him that the voices might have actually been on their way to get scrubs so he waved at choli to move into the back of the room behind the shelf.

There was only the tiniest of muffled squeaks that came from Choli, her eyes flashing a brief bronze in alarm as Trextan's cybernetic arm tugged her into another storage closet. The Irony was not slipping past her, and the pair went shuffling to the back behind the shelf.

He had yet to let her go, his chest rising and falling at her back, both of their hearts jumpstarting in alarm. The biopatches pinged at the changes, and while it wasn't too high to prompt an alarm on the nurse's monitor, if it kept increasing, they would begin to notice.

The tug that had drawn Choli into the closet with Trextan had lifted and scrunched the hem of her shirt a bit, leaving a bare patch of skin over her belly that his ring and pinky cybernetic finger settled against. They were both doing their best to remain quiet, eyes wide, listening to the sound of those voices increase in volume.

"We are running out of bacta gauze. Also need a few more boxes of PharmaTech's bactaless bandages." one nurse would tell the assistant. When shadows seemed to loom upon the entrance, Choli took another step back, pressing herself against Trextan rather snugly so, strands of black hair dancing as his breath made them fan. That was promptly followed by a distinct widening of her eyes. Pajamas were just terrible layers.

There was a moment of silence and complete ignorance as he stayed still. The assistant in deep green scrubs stepped into the room. Fortunately he wasn't looking too deeply into the shadows.

Awareness came suddenly as the man turned his back. First came the scent of her hair with her head right beneath his. However, what followed was forgetting his right hand was artificial as he felt the warmth of her skin against his fingers. Then quite how closely pressed she was to his hips.

Trextan tensed up slightly, but tried not to give away his state of alarm. His right hand slowly moved off her waist as the silhouette left the room. He listened for the receding footsteps, allowed his mind to follow the life forces as they moved away; a good distraction from the physical world at the least.

Well, focusing on making sure they weren't caught was a great distraction; well, sort of. Okay, not really for Choli. A wave of heat seemed to go rushing up her chest, along her neck, and settled on her face. Good thing that the shadows of the closet hid that from view.

"I think they are gone," her voice manage to murmur, a low whisper between the pair just as she took a step forward. Blessed space came between them again, Choli keeping her attention towards the door and her ruddy face away from Trextan. Like there was any way to avoid noticing that.

No other murmurs, which meant that perhaps they were in the clear. The door had been slid shut just prior to the nurses departure, but there was a small little window slit that would allow the pair to peek outside.

Focussing on the Force, feeling the connections between lives within the Force. A good distraction from the physical. However, it also meant he could feel the rush of embarrassment coming off Choli. That had him snap his senses back to his body.

He stuffed his senses back. Then he tried to push down the thought that it hadn't felt bad as such to have her held tight. Hospitals, even this kind, had lots of signs. As he peeked his head out the door and looked around he saw several. "Next floor down then," he said jovially. The mission was still on.

Brown eyes met hazel for a moment, and Choli was able to mellow out her embarrassment. Okay, mess hall mission awaits!

Typically, this wasn't the sort of covert operations Choli had imagined when she was undergoing SEER training. Truth be told, it was nice for it to be a lighthearted and rather risk-free endeavour. Not to mention, as the Rogue's bare feet went padding alongside Trextan when they slid away from the closet, that it was actually nice to not be alone.

A sign with sigils towards the mess and the turbolift or stairs they would need to take was at their right. A quick point and Choli directed the Justicar on towards the east wing. From there they could head on to the next floor.

Trextan moved with a slight limp, bracing his hand against his left hip as he moved into a brisk pace. Choli had been in the bacta longer than him. He'd felt so determined to go and visit her and then wavered when he'd seen a group of Rogues gathered about her tank.

They weren't here now. They were alone for their mission behind enemy lines. An orderly with a patient in a wheelchair rounded the corner before Trextan could give warning, or pull them into another compromising position.

"Just keep walking," he hissed. Head up, he kept going. The orderly spared them little more than a glance. Trextan felt just a spark of an inquisitive thought. He waved his left hand towards the ground and he soothed it out in the other man's mind.

He shot Choli a wide grin as they kept going. That had been showing off. "How's your legs with stairs?" He asked. She had been pinned when he found her, but he'd found the reserves to lift the console from her and get both her and her copilot out of the downed ship before collapsing before a GADF response team.

Stairs? Well, physical therapy was a thing. Her foot and leg had taken quite a beating. Bone had snapped it in several places, some even shattered. She was luckily that she didn't lose the limb. Her time in the bacta tank had taken longer, but even the bacta wouldn't heal everything immediately.

Choli had caught the mindtrick. He was showing off. It amused her and reminded her of the rogues. They'd do the same with flying, acting up and having a good time. Getting into shenanigans much like this. Again, it eased the sense of awkwardness. Made it feel as if she were back at the unit.

"Umm," choli bit her lip, glancing around and ruminating over how well she could handle stairs.

"Kark it." Came her quiet and determined reply. If Trextan was paying close attention, he'd see her eyes swirl into a steely gray hue of determination.

"Let's go." She took charge again, moving towards the stairs with a slight favor of her right leg.

He grinned. He enjoyed her spirited resolve. This time at least they were on a mission to steal food from the mess. Last time he’d gone to stop her ripping her arm apart and ended up running off to steal a shuttle. Back then, even when he had started to question the plan he had known she would have gone on without him. He’d followed as much to stop her from hurting herself as because he wanted to leave in the end.

“Well I’ve already carried you once on Skor and we managed on Polis,” he chuckled. He’d known it had been risky to move her and the co-pilot, but it had seemed the lesser of two evils at the time. That dark spirit had lingered. Fortunately he’d found the response team with Choli before collapsing and they’d gone to find the co-pilot who had seemed in a better condition.

Choli shot a glance over her shoulder, the Rogue lightly taking the steps. She was lingering an extra second or so, but it was clear that her resolve was not running empty anytime soon. Her streak of independence was strong.

"Please, Voidstalker," she playfully scoffed, dark hair swishing along her back with every step. "Technically, I saved you on Polis." A bit of a stretch but they were bantering anyways.

However, soon as she met his gaze she brought her head forward. Stairs, pajamas, and Trextan did not mesh well. Or, well they did, but then -- ugh, okay focus.

"No need to carry me over your shoulder. I'm a big girl." She added, moving down the first flight of stairs.
Back at the nursing station, the two little green dots continued to move. Vitals normal, save for a small hike in pace.

A grin suggested that he knew all too well that she would have brushed aside the offer. The fact that it had been in jest was made more obvious when he braced himself against the banister as he made his way down. He didn’t move that cautiously. He couldn’t be seen to fall too far behind, that wouldn’t do at all.

He nearly stumbled, as she rounded the corner and carried on back down. Trextan hadn’t realised he’d been watching her long hair swish back and forth with her steps, but he did notice the neckline of the loose pyjamas as she turned about. Blood pressure edged a little closer to warning levels, but was still well within the norm. Of course the railing was just bars, and eye level for choli was suddenly dangerous once more.

“Here we go,” he said as they came out onto the floor. The mess was closed and this area was eerily quiet. He drew up alongside her to try and keep his eyes back on the mission.

One would have to thank the Force that Choli hadn't given Trextan another look prior to him joining her at the end of the stairs. Then again, if he neared a little too close and they caught themselves in a delicate situation, maybe that wouldn't be the case.

"Shusshh." Choli brought a finger to her lips, motioning for the Justicar in training to quiet down. This corridor was a bit more crowded. There were two droids hovering at the end of the all to the right. Another orderly with a patient in a hover chair to the left, and straight ahead was the hall that would lead towards the mess just to the right. Refreshers were along that same corridor to the left and just up ahead, the turbolift doors.

"Okay, let's do it your way." Choli told Trextan, her honeyed colored eyes taking in the fastest route.

"Act normal. Just walk." Her head went swiveling to her left, noticing him there. At least the heat had left her face, returning it to its olive glow with slightly flushed cheeks in excitement. Yeah, could blame the stairs for that.
"Ready?"

The pink twi'lek had been evicted from his mind now. Instead he tried not to connect the view of her swaying hair with the scent it had held and the shape of her legs in the pyjamas with the feel of her pressed in the closet.

They walked side by side down the hall. The medical droids completely ignored the pair, clearly the situation beyond the interests of their programming. The orderly however found it a little odd. Not patients walking around in nightwear; that was fairly frequent. Just the two being down on this floor at night. Teenagers looking for a quiet room, he imagined.

"Mess is closed by the way," he called.

Trextan gave a smile. "Just stretching the legs," he replied.

The orderly decided this wasn't worth his time. He was overworked as he was. He gave them a suspicious look and shrugged. "Don't stay out of your wards too long. Never know when a doctor might actually show and then you can't find 'em for love nor money."

"Thanks!" Choli added, giving a fleeting smile towards the orderly only to turn a slight expression of 'Whew okay!' At trextan. Hey, beggars couldn't be choosers when it came to sneaking in to grab some snacks. Back at the nursing station, their little green locator lights continued on detailing where the pair were at. Trextan's vitals were elevating at a steady pace, perhaps, in part to his growing awareness of the Rogue beside him. So far, nothing alarming, but if the Nurse were to stop playing her crossword puzzle, she would notice that two of their charges were gone.

There was a wide double door that led to the Mess. Not far now. It was open twenty-four hours, but crewed with a droid staff. There were a handful of organic managers, but typically, this was left to the droids. A glance over at Trextan caught the slight hobble, her concern turning to embarrassment as she brought her eyes back up.

"You okay?" She managed to ask, profile to him and her cheeks slightly flushed. She could blame it on the exhersion and not on her wandering eyes. If Janes were here, he'd be making comments on discovering if he was packing a sock or not.

Mortification made her face turned a darker maroon, and Choli was grateful that her thick hair had a tendency to fall forward.

Unfortunate for them, that was about the time the nearest turbolift gave a ding.

It was one of the nurses from their ward. One would hope that perhaps Trextan would have a better chance at catching sight of them before they were found out.

"Probably good to walk it off a little," Trextan replied boldly. It very well might not have been but this was the most fun he'd had in weeks.

He saw the nurse turn out of the lift. Pretending not to be interested in the staff around them he didn't initially notice he was familiar. He realised who, seeing the nurse engrossed in a chart. Trextan's eyes widened. He snatched Choli's hand with his left and picked up the pace. The door in to the left led into the refreshers. It slid open to reveal another corridor with further swinging doors for different genders (and species). It occurred to him that if Choli hadn't spotted the nurse that was going to look bad.

Alright the mess hall was just ahead -- Choli's world spun as she gave a small muffled cry of alarm again. As Trextan had feared, she had not recognized the nurse, so once again, it seemed as if Trextan had suddenly decided to dart from the main corridor into... the refresher??

Confusion arose over the Rogue's face, her hand now captured by the trainee Justicar. The Refresher door gave a small hiss shut behind them, leaving them in an empty and quiet corridor that led towards several different adjustable stalls for use.

"Umm..." gold flecks of alarm scattered over a blanket of puzzled green, the teenager staring at Trextan bemused and perplexed.

".... what are you doing?" She asked him, aware that they were in a quiet area, alone, and uhh, well, glancing down and up at their proximity, rather close. Thoughts on that storage closet came again and her face warmed again.

"Ummm. ." His initial moment of hesitance made things seem worse. His Adams apple bobbed as he took followed her up and down glance.

Talk you idiot.

"The nurse," he blurted out at a hushed whisper. "From..." Footsteps echoed outside. In a panic he backed into the door to the female refresher and hoped to all that was holy that it was empty. Fortunately it was.

The hiss of the door outside was followed by a whisper as the male nurse walked in and pushed into the male refresher.

"From our ward!" He hissed, hoping she got the gist of it

Choli's perplexing expression turned into full on alarm as Trexton's lanky frame hovered over her for a moment, hand pushing her back into the female refresher and into another smaller, and oh god tinier room. Her steps made her rush backwards, the curve of her backside bumping against a sink, immediately halting anymore movement as the door to the refresher slid shut and locked behind them.

"I.. what?" Curves bounced a bit, her hands coming up as if to stop Trextan from running into her, only serving to brace against his chest and shuffle the soft fabric of his pajamas further. Her face turned a shade darker in growing awareness.

"Shit." It registered, nurse outside, right -- well as much as it could with having him in front of her then. Biometric patches registered another hike in vitals.
"Umm.."
