No Light

His wide grin remained on his face. He nodded, winking at her. It sounded like a deal made in heaven. He tore himself from staring at her face, he didn't want to seem weird or rude. He peered around the cockpit, looking at the various controls. He nodded to himself, the ship looked quite up to date, and nothing seemed broken. He moved his hands over the controls, gripping one of the levers, smiling at the familiar feeling. This is where he belonged.

Olan ~tried~ to give a hug to La before she rushed off for the fire. Not exactly cognitively getting the whole 'droid on fire' bit until afterward. As she rushed off for the fire quench, he said as she frantically looked around; "There is a quench in each personnel room, near the light panel. Just take the emergency plate off, its marked with a fire symbol and a cross."

Looking now between Reno and Harli he huffed and pulled up the bandage and the shirt he wore. "I'm fine! See!-"-Spurt! A little blood squirts out of the long gash across his ribs.-"-Okay, maybe not. We got to hurry though! Reno, prepare the ship for hyperspace jump, get us on course to come out between the planet Isis and Hoth. There is a small asteroid field there that the ship is in. Harli, I suggest you buckle-" Olan stopped talking as he watched Reno and La banter between one another. Shaking his head, his words may have been lost on them. "Harli, buckle yourself in. We got to go before anyone tries to break into that ship. If they do, its going to explode in twelves hours, taking itself and everything near it in a giant ball of plasma."

Than he limped over to his room and hit the door button. Inside was a plethora of everything explosive or weapon related. Even a work bench was in there, having replaced the table in there. With grunt Olan took off his jacket, holster harness and shirt quickly. Stripping down quick so he could just patch up his wound, he could take care of it more properly later.

Yanking out the medical box from under the workbench-what a place to keep one, he must get hurt a lot-and pulled out a bacta-bandage and wrapped it about his waist several times. And using a surgical sealant, he locked the wound up from bleeding more. That would need to do for now.

From Harlis angle, if she was just getting to the cockpit or was still in her original position, she would see Olan had a small cornucopia of scars along his back and sides.

Not wasting time, Olan grabbed the upper portion of his Iron Skin armor and slipped it over his torso. Sealing it, he threw his jacket on over with his blaster harness. The armor fit like a glove, so much so that they could see the indentation of the bandage pushing back out on the armor.

Moving back towards the Cockpit he got into his seat, which made the little gaggle of dangling nicknacks above his head jangle about. Some teeth, fangs and some bits of a burned out ship hull.

To the others, the ship prettymuch looked brand new. Where once the bantha leather had been worn and torn out, it was clean, fresh and new. Soft and comfy. The controls on the ship had gotten tuned up, there was even a backup hyperdrive now! The ship-even for its old age-was almost brand new!

Buckling himself in, Olan began to set the ships shields on the front nose of the ship, because if they came out in the asteroid field-it was most likely going to be face first. Secondary and primary engines were good...hyperdrive was warmed up and prepped for the jump...all bays sealed and locked.

Moments seemed like minutes to the young Spacer as he quickly worked the controls, time was of the essence...

Kiber would notice that the panel to get into the ship had a revolving door code. It changed every thirty seconds and its length and design changed each time. Unlike a conventional keypad, this one was a pattern chain. And it was massive, going from a field of dots-numbering a hundred-to a starburst pattern, to what looked like an old planetary map, and then to something completely oblong. They were massive on the small screen.

It may be easier to just blow his way in! But that would have its own plethora of issues. The security had to be tight on this ship, or else it would've been plundered long ago.

Slicing the console may be an option, but that would take a long time. A real long time with how the code changes so often. Though it is the safest option.

Kiber wouldn't sense any 'life' on the other side, but if he had a motion sensor, he could see that there was something in there moving towards him. It looked big, but had a changing shape to its form as it travelled.

As Vass came out of hyperspace, she would see the same sight that Kiber did. The Harlequins Jest, just sitting there in the asteroid field. Depending on the angle she came in, she may see Kibers ship or not-depending on if he hid it in the asteroid field. And depending on how close she was, she may even see the Bounty Hunter trying to get in.

The ship itself looks extremely well armed, its original military configuration was never this advanced in armament. Turrets dotted every firing angle of the ship, and had multiple overlap points from the look of it. Other than that, the ship looked brand new-except for the paint.

'Beep boop bleep'

Reno quietly said to himself, mimicking the sounds coming from the cockpit. He dialed in the co-ordinates Olan gave to him and got prepared for hyperspace. Feeling a sharp pain as he lifted his arm up, he remembered he had been shot on his shoulder. He winced a little, patting the sore wound. It wasn't anything particularly bad, but hell did blaster wounds sting. He got another energy pudding out of one of his pockets and stuffed it into his mouth whole, munching on it happily. How wonderful pudding tasted after a battle.

@D'vok Windroamer

There was probably a lot of ways D'vok would have been able to get on the ship, the most easiest would have been to catch onto the back of the hoverbus before it took off and stowed on the back end until they landed in the airborne Avalon.

He would see all the same things as the others did when first getting in. A large cargo hold, with a small number of shipping containers, leading to two separate bay doors into the central part of the ship. Beyond, he would see the internals like all the others did. Communications console, turret control chair, eating table and booth seats, food synth, the works. It was overall a standard looking YT-2660 on the inside.

So far, the others would be unaware of his presence...maybe.

"Alright everyone, lock yourselves down, we are going to jump once breaking atmo'. Olan said, both him and Reno working as a team to prepare the ship-and doubling the speed of what usual inefficiency occurred when doing all this by yourself. It seemed Olan was none the wiser to D'voks presence, just yet. Or maybe he knew and felt he wasn't a danger, yet.

The ship slowly began to gain altitude and pull away from Shadda, the bright city lights beginning to fade into dots. The tall skyscrapers turning into little hairs on the surface of Shadda.

'Weeeeeee'

he said to himself again as they flew off. He turned to Olan, seeing him staring.

'Sorry, I like doing the sound effects'

he said grinning, pressing a few more buttons, each time saying 'beep' or 'boop'. Maybe he did this before as he got quite lonely on his ship, all by himself, so saying things out loud seemed to make him feel less lonely. He stared out into space, smiling. He hadn't flown in a while, and was happy to finally be back in the cockpit.

"No, no, its good. I do the same thing sometimes and-" Olan keeps his hand on the control stick to the ship and he kicks a little plate near the center console and the plate pops open. Reaching underneath he pulls out a cloth plushie Gundark, it looks old as time. The ears are all floppy and big. Usually a Gundark would be dark red, but this one looked somewhat tan due to its age. "-meet Charles."

Returning his hands to the control stick, continuing the slow upward climb away from the planet. "Jumping in...three...two..."

Reno simply stared at the toy, speechless for a few moments.

'I love him already'

he said smirking at Charles. Reno snapped himself out of the weird trance and got back into the zone, ready to help Olan fly the ship. He had found it a little hard to begin with, but now he was getting back into the flow of his piloting days of old.

Olan put his hand on the hypderdrive throttle. And began to look back, he thought he saw someone in his peripheral vision. "...One?!" He was right, he saw someone come to the cockpit. He looked a little familiar. But before his brain could register who it was, his body responded to its last command. Pushing the hyperdrive throttle forward.

Que Music.

The ship lurched forward, the world seemed to go wonky a bit outside and that sickening wave of nausea cascaded over him. Charles the Gundark plushie flopped across the room from its position on the main console to smack into the cockpits back wall, making a soft squeak sound.

Twisting his head back around, Olan let the figure be a shade in his mind as he kept an eye on where he was going. Minutes passed as the world was a blur...literally.

A loud beeping started to fill the cockpit as they were nearing their destination. Appearing as a large red dot that was on the holomap that popped to life from the center console, the asteroid field was BIG and it seemed to dwarf the ship they were looking for. But it was right there, like it wanted to be found. Not sure if that was a good thing.

Pulling back on the throttle the ship slowed down and exited hyperspace. This is what they were looking at.

Several moments of silence later, the biggest of the space rocks moved on its natural path and the ship came into view. It was big. Very big. Its ship bays looked like they were big enough to hold thirty-plus fights. Multiple additions to its underbelly looked to extend the cargo holds on the ship. And most of all...

...it was well armed. Turrets, turrets everywhere.

On the side, the name "Harlequins Jest" was imprinted onto the outer armor. It looked brand new for some reason, the ship, except for the paint.

Just as the ship came to a stop, La'kuus walked from the food synth with a cup of hot liquids in her hand, topped with a black lid and held by a brown material cup with a design so much as an R unit's broken down leg. She stared out the window with curious eyes. Before long she moved herself in front of Olan to look out the window more clearly, especially eyeing the ship. "Hmm. I've seen different types of those batteries before in some shops I worked at. I recommend raising the shields, they could malfunction." Or that was just La's fault, when she tried to get the battery at the shop to spill oil so she didn't have to change the one in her speeder.

She moved back from halfway on Olan's lap and walked back into her now not-smoking room to get dressed in the spare armor she left on there a few days back. She couldn't properly drive her ship without her R unit, seeing as she could barely hold it together with the droid. She really needed some hands-on lessons. For now, someone else could borrow it and investigate the ship.

'Noooo, Charles, man down'

Reno said aloud, chuckling to himself, eyes focused on the controls. His fluid motions were now perfect, just like they used to be, helping pilot the ship gracefully. This lasted only a minute before they came out of hyperspace.

'Damn'

is all that Reno could say as the massive ship came into view. He wondered why, and how, anyone could build and need a ship as large as the one he was staring at. As he stared at it he felt an uneasiness. The ship itself seemed fine, not much damage, yet nothing seemed active. Something wasn't right.

"Well, we've arrived. And can someone get Charles for me. Hes taken a dive." The Spacer said as he piloted the ship around multiple different asteroids. Some were big and some were small, some even pinged off the hull!

Twisting about in his chair to see who had come up to the Helm/Cockpit, he saw D'vok. Then he looked to La who had taken a spot on him a moment before moving back into the ship. "Hey, did you bring this guy on board?" Looking back at D'vok he extends a hand back to shake. "Sorry for not noticing you earlier pal, welcome to the Avalon."

Looking back every so often now to check he wasn't flying INTO a asteroid, instead of them flying into him.

Sparing a glance also at Harli. A big grin on his face at this point as they got closer to the large ship in the distance. And they were rapidly closing. Almost there at this point.

La La came out with her wearing armor on, a Warden class armor at that, and went to the group of... three. Three it looked like. "If any of you want to fly out and investigate the area in my ship you can feel free. I can woman the batteries and hit away asteroids." She suggested as she pulled on her helmet, sealing away her thick mess of hair in the process.

Don't try to be helpful La, you know you're just doing it for practice.

@D'vok Windroamer

"Thanks yourself! And yep, though its not exactly a ship, its more of my home, but yeah." He says with a chuckle, turning back to the control sticks, guiding the ship deftly-or as deft as someone like him could hope to. He wasn't a hotshot pilot, and it showed. The sound of asteroid bits knocking against the hull every so often was a good testament to that.

They were nearing the closed bay doors on the opposite side of where Kib was. They couldn't see him or his ship right now. Slowing the ship down with the front thrusters now to he wouldn't smash the front of the ship into the doors, he brought it into a slow dance with the larger ship-so he had a bit of time to pull out the gold spike, the same harmonic sound coming off the metal as he took it off.

"Hope this works..." Then began to prep a channel to try and communicate with the larger ships command system. "Names Olan, by the way. Mentioning it off-handedly as he kept the ship steady and worked the command console infront of him.

@La'kuus Quelin

"Please be careful out there, La." Looking back at her for a moment, stopping his actions on the console as he looked at her squarely. Worry written on part of his face, then it turned back to the work at hand.

@D'vok Windroamer [member="Harli Hayes"] [member="Reno Jendir"]

A deep sigh escaped the Spacers lung as he heard that. "Like it wouldn't be hard enough getting in and out alive, was hoping those goons may get'em. Thanks for trying, D'vok. And nice to meet you."

Looking back at the console he opened the channel just to the Harlequin and held the key to the receptor. Nothing was happening so far.

"Oh yeah, let me introduce you. This is Harli-" Motions to Harli with his free hand. "-and this is Reno." And brings his hand to Reno.

Still nothing...but the spike did seem to change in pitch slowly...maybe it was a matter of time.

La La took her chance to escape into her ship and seal off the hanger bay from the rest of the ship. She was a little lonely now, but soon she flew out and started to circle the ship like some kind of bounty hunter.

Oh wait, she was a bounty hunter.
