[OOC] The Raven Who Stole Christmas [Red Raven - Black Suns - Barab I]

[member="Ordan Vosk"]

Forgive me, but the lasers in use are not small. And any flooding control would not be equipped to handle what we are now sending down there now. Not only that, but you say the pumps present are archaic...so it is more than likely they don't work very efficiently and would be easily overwhelmed. Not only that, but once a breach is made, the pressure from the incoming water would only make the holes bigger and bigger.

You guys seriously need to run.

Archaic by the standards of a Galactic Civilization mean that they are probably still more advanced than modern day pump systems. Aside from that I clearly stated the pumps wouldn't stop the flooding but would prolong it. Aside from that I also said there may be other defenses that members of the Black Suns besides myself may be more keen on. Oh and aside from that a well maintained system, archaic or not by any standard can still be pretty damn efficient. You guys seriously need to read.

It's the unfortunate circumstance of living under a planet that suffers nightly torrential downpours. Barab I doesn't have oceans because it is so hot it soaks up during the day, and at night, the oceans fall back down onto the planet, per se.

My two cents on the subject, I only read the last two replies so I don't know what else has been said.

I would honestly think that a barabel society would have the means to protect themselves from such a disaster. Yes there would be flooding, a few feet to cause some damage and chaos. But it would subside. But then again that would be my guess, you could bring in a RPJ on it if you wish.

i read your post. but lets be real here. the pumps are designed to deal with natural problems. Not a military assault. and again like has been stated, we are dropping an ocean on you guys. where do you think the pumps pump to? the lake. a lake filled with radiated water. and those holes are only getting bigger with each passing second. the moment they get big enough, the entire roof will collapse. but that is fine...stay there. i just wanted to warn you. so you can't say anything later. if you wish to stay...by all means. I'll see you all in the afterlife brothers....

You guys ignored all our posts about drilling. It is not our fault you didn't think of that end result. this is a simple clear cut case. city floods, you leave. you stay, you die. it is that simple. no offense. you can't go back now and say oh we attacked the drills. that's just bad rp, and cheating.

I'm curious about something. By your definition these holes are going to keep growing larger with every passing second even though they likely had to drill several miles underground at least and then the roof of the cavern that a city is based in is going to collapse? We're talking about a cavern of literally colossal proportions that can house an entire city here too. So I can expect the entire roof of the cavern to collapse in your opinion?

[member="Ice"] no but our defense against the drills would have to been naval forces in which you guys said were going to be nothing but backdrop. So you would mislead us OOC so you can use this attack as your main focus? take a hike.

You make a good point there. The roof would be unlikely to collapse yes. But that still doesn't change the fact that we don't know how big these facilities are. And again, it's a mining camp. NOT a city! Nothing that has been described so far would indicate anything so enormous that the gigantic holes plowed through to the caves couldn't fill in short order.

And for the third time, we have admitted you have a chance to escape. Which none of you are even making an attempt to do. Despite our many warnings.

[member="Ice"] I think your missing the point with the ships that we had in space IC: wise if we was going by that wouldn't there be firing going on down to where the drillers was at.

OCC: we was told no navy so there for no ships if that is what I'm getting and with this reason. Why would we fire on it if we wasn't to use our ships like a navy

Actually if you read the very first post of the thread, written by your leader I believe, you'll find this....

Cryax Bane was leading the offensive, drilling into the underground city and taking the mining headquarters and offices, with Colap Ticon leading an attack on the mines themselves.
....that seems to indicate a city to me not a mining camp. Now then I want to know something else; I researched the vessels you used to drill the holes into the planets surface. Y-8 Mining Vessels which were made to mine lucrative astroid belts. Interesting.
