Objective III: Retreave the wounded and dead, and get home
Allies:EOTL, The Tingel Arm Coalition
Opposition:None
Equipment: Broad Saber, LO-56A MKII, armor
Forces: Tarrians sword [576 soldiers] alongside the 201st Mechanized Company
Laphisto nodded towards Shem Spinner Shem Spinner before watching the man leap into teh air as his star fighter fly by, pulling him away. crossing his arms over his chest laphisto looked out towards his forces who were indeed pulling bodies from the wreckage of walkers, and retrieving those who had been knocked down from their bikes. It was around this moment that Tarian stepped up next to him, pulling his helmet off and putting it under his arm, " the men fought well today sir. I have the casualty report." laphisto looked over at the extended data pad, taking it in his hands and opening it up, watching the names of the soldiers who had died here today scroll by.

" Very well. When we get back to Aurora station, put these names on the memorial wall. We will give them a warrior's burial and celebrate them."

looking up to the sky a large form taking shape a Kilometer away from the battle field, the Gri'shto, a Greh'ova Assault Ship was landed in a vally several kilometers away, it was how the order had gotten planet side and if things went awry it was thier way off this rock. as the ship approached several small dots began pouring from its hanger as LAET/C and LAET/I MKII gunships flew into the battlefield. the LAET/C moving to pick up walkers. Pulling them off the ground and then flying them back to the assault ship. with the LAET/I gunships landing with their doors sliding open and infantry began boarding.

It would take a little under five or ten minutes for the order to be fully packed up. Any walker they deemed too damaged was left behind for the rebels. Along with a maintenance guide on ways to best fix the machine. Small tokens of gratitude for allowing them to pull free without being stabbed in the back.

a Gunship was seen flying over Ruus Kote Ruus Kote before touching down fourty yards to his east, where Lieutenant Oserrias and his Pegasus D-6AV' squadron were tucked away had the order requested air support, these fighters would have been called to action. with a rumble the gunship then picked up and took off for the Gri'shto. and within a moments time the ship began to leave for orbit before jumping to hyper space.

"Knight Shem Spinner to all TAC allies, cease fire on Lastile Order mercenary forces. They're withdrawing peacefully after negotiation. See that they have the necessary time to recover their wounded."

It took a moment for the word to get around. Orders were slow to pass between all commanders, but eventually the guns fell silent. Sayno had it's engineers push forward, recovering vehicles and salvaging enemy vics, while infantry moved in and allowed surrendering troops to retreat peacefully.

Sayno himself pushed forward, making sure to be present when the engineers finally detonated the wall, and allowed the armor to push in.

Now onto the city...

"Big Boss, this is Azure Phoenix. Priority message, all units, listen up! Sending you our coordinates now. We've got eyes on an enemy operation where they're loading crates onto a ship. The site is heavily and aggressively defended, with two Spider Walkers tearing through local forces.

Sayno frowned. Still, the battle raged.

"Iron Men, adjust south. Tigers and Bobcats only. The rest make your way into the capital. I want to get Fynch Fynch his capital building back."

"All that effort and you got six kills?!" Ami snickered as blaster bolts zipped by her. "Wow Tiny, I'm disappointed!"

The Stormtrooper got out of cover, firing her blaster carbine towards the nearest enemy. Three bolts later the man what shot dead along with another soldier who was cowering in front of him. "Double kill motherfracker!" Ami said. "Fortune favors the bold Tiny!"

Friendly reinforcements began to push east, Dieter and his troops followed suit carving a path through the use of blasters and vibroswords. "So what's the situation?!" Ami shouted using the tin can for cover as she continued to open fire on the TAC forces. "You think we can reach those facilities in time?!"

Just then, the transport that they were protecting exploded. Ami was thrown off of her feet landing headfirst on the metal ground. Though Ami's helmet slammed against the floor, her head was still ringing. "Chit!" Ami yelled painfully crawling to her downed rifle. "What the hell happened?!"

It did not take long for Ivixa to find her pursuers. The tiny Asa’nyx came to a sudden halt just before rounding a corner, her probe droid having cued her into the presence of two signatures moving down the next gangway. She pulled up the feed in her HUD, at which point her yellow-hued eyes briefly widened as she visually examined her targets.

It was the Jedi, accompanied by one of Linsla’s soldiers.

Ivixa didn’t hesitate. The tiny sniper mag-locked one of her pistols onto her hip and armed a CryoBan grenade, allowing it to cook for a couple seconds in the process. Then, after a quick breath, she leaned out from cover and threw the grenade towards the two enemies before shifting back behind the corner. The grenade was set to explode less than a second after it left Ivixa’s hand, potentially giving her targets very little time to react before being caught in the freezing blast. Still, Ivixa preemptively took defensive measures, anticipating that there was still a small possibility that the explosive might be leveled back at her.

In that, Ivixa activated her armor’s repulsors, using them as a boost to send her flying laterally before coming down five meters to the right of her previous position. Then, tucking into a graceful roll in order to cushion her landing, she redrew her other CryoBan pistol, both weapons ready to fire at a moments’ notice.

It was amusing to watch Valmy question Teresa's words and think that being broken was something so temporary. The Valkyrie didn't stop Valmy as she tried to close the gap, watching her through narrowed eyes as the girl flooded her system with chemicals. It was almost adorable. But how long would it last? How temporary was that boost in strength?

She could sense two of them charging forward, leaving one behind near their vehicle. Amidst the sound of her steps and the hum of her blade, Teresa didn't catch Boomboom's question, but she did hear Valmy's complimentary words. Teresa smiled and briefly made eye contact before shifting her gaze to Valmy's hand as it reached for a blaster.

Her father's saber split into two as she felt the mercenaries begin to make their moves and spread out. She had noticed two of their weapons earlier, and the bigger guy certainly wielded a sizable one. Yet, most people in this galaxy who made danger their business often relied on blasters. The Valkyrie's taunt had worked, and volleys of shots came her way. The white blade of her father's saber focused on defending against the shots from Boomboom, while the yellow half reflected back at Spikes.

However, the moment Delight poked his weapon out, Teresa's golden-orange eyes snapped to it. With a flick of motion, her left arm pulled away from the blade, palm facing his direction with curled fingers. Before the ability fully activated, her lightsaber swiftly moved to absorb the shots from Valmy. When her ability finally released, it was slightly off target. Teresa had combusted part of the wall beside Delight instead of the weapon he carried.

The ongoing shots from around her limited her movements for the moment, and some came dangerously close to hitting. Yet her instincts were on fire, able to match them all for now. Her purple blade shot up high amidst the barrage of shots, but Teresa had already decided where to send it first. Like a dart, it shot down towards Boomboom, with the sun behind it.

"Of course it has," she replied, still maintaining her playful tone. Teresa wasn't actually timing anything; whatever felt like twenty was good enough. Despite the risk of taking a blaster round, the Blackened Valkyrie pressed forward, thrusting her lightsaber—not at the woman's blade but with the intent to strike and force her to move more.

starship-1-by-heristal-di19cmy-pre.jpg

A couple hours had passed since Strike Fleet Aurek had left the Lothal system via hyperspace, apparently leaving the surface troops and the resources that had been collected on their own. A new ship entered the system's vicinity exiting hyperspace strategically on the opposite side of the planet from where all the space combat had taken place and Fleet Aurek escaped. The ship was quite large, a star destroyer in technical classification, but it was outfitted and currently being used as if it was a freighter on steroids.

"Lothal command, what the heck is going on here?" a message was broadcast from the ship. "Looks like there is some sort of battle taking place here. When we left Bothawui to make our pick up everything seemed quiet." The voice paused for a moment and you could almost feel the smirk from the man who was making the broadcast. Suddenly the signal shifted from being directed to the planetary control to an open mass broadcast. "Oh I'm sorry. This is Captain Aldron Ironclad aboard the Steel Aurora, representing Iankien Deliveries. We were supposed to be picking up some Dooniun. I didn't realize that we were heading into a warzone. We want no part of this trouble. We have powered down all weapons systems. As soon as we are able to calculate a jump to a neighboring system we will be on our way. Really should check what's going on at each stop of our journey…"

As the large vessel maintained orbit and awaited directions, a secret long range signal was sent to each Stork dropship on Lothal. The Steel Aurora was their way out of the system. It was empty and the crew of the ship was ready to dock all of the ships and offload their resources for delivery to the Empire of the Lost.

The bridge of the Aranar-class Battlecruiser was a hive of controlled activity. Grax Tolwin, the Ugnaught Communications Officer, carefully analyzed the transmission from the Steel Aurora. His sharp eyes narrowed as he parsed the details, his gut instinct warning him of potential deception.

"Incoming transmission from the Steel Aurora, claiming they're a freighter, but I've got a bad feeling about this," Grax announced, his voice tinged with caution.

Zane Harlock, the Queequeg Security Officer, was already on edge. His past life as a pirate had honed his instincts, and this situation was setting off all the wrong alarms. "Freighter, my tail. They're probably up to something. We should be ready to pounce if they try anything sneaky," Zane muttered, his gaze locked on the tactical display, tracing every move of the supposedly unarmed ship.

"Agreed," Zane said, taking the lead. "Grax, keep them talking. We need to buy some time to figure out what they're really up to."

Grax nodded, quickly composing a response. He opened a channel to the Steel Aurora. "Steel Aurora, this is Phoenix Command. Lothal is currently an active combat zone. Maintain your current position and power down all systems. Any deviation from this will be considered hostile. We'll guide you through the proper protocols, but you are to stay put."

While Grax kept the Steel Aurora occupied, the rest of the crew moved into action. Fizz, the Squib Mechanic, was down in the engine room, ensuring that every system was operating at peak efficiency. "Engines are primed and ready. We can outmaneuver them if they try to run," he reported over the comms, his voice filled with confidence.

In the hangar, Kip, the Chadra-Fan pilot, was running final checks on his fighter. His instincts were buzzing with anticipation. "I've got a feeling we're gonna need to scramble soon. Just say the word, and we'll be on them like stink on a gundark," Kip said with a grin, giving a thumbs-up to Gibit, the Ewok Weapons Specialist. Gibit, as usual, was meticulously loading the ship's weapons, ready for anything.

Zane turned to Grax once more. "Send an encrypted message to Strill Securities' Captain Kal Netra. I want him in the loop."

Grax nodded, fingers dancing over the controls as he composed the message.

Encrypted Transmission to Strill Securities' Captain Kal Netra:

From:
Phoenix Command
To: Captain Kal Netra, Strill Securities
Subject: Potential Hostile Activity - Steel Aurora

Message:
We've intercepted a transmission from a star destroyer-class vessel identifying itself as the Steel Aurora. They claim to be a freighter from Iankien Deliveries, here to pick up doonium. However, we suspect ulterior motives. The vessel has powered down its weapons but maintains a suspicious position in orbit. Be prepared for possible hostile actions. We advise keeping your forces on high alert and coordinating with us for any necessary countermeasures. Awaiting your confirmation.

End Transmission

Zane Harlock stood over the central console, eyes scanning the holographic display of the Lothal system. The Steel Aurora hung in orbit on the opposite side of the planet, its true intentions unclear.

Zane's mind was made up. He turned to Grax Tolwin, who was already anticipating the orders. "Grax, relay the following orders to all units."

Grax nodded sharply, his hands moving swiftly across the console as Zane began to issue directives.

  • SS Ebonray Assault Interceptor Squadrons - Intercept and Monitor
    • Deploy immediately around the Steel Aurora. Stay on high alert, intercept any unauthorized movement, and engage if hostile intent is detected. Maintain real-time updates with the bridge.
  • SS Phantomray Stealth Assault Interceptor Squadron - Stealth Operations
    • Activate stealth systems and monitor the Steel Aurora and other potential threats. Prioritize intel gathering and assist ground forces like Braze if needed. Avoid direct engagement unless necessary.
  • HF-2 Jair Kyr'am Heavy Fighter Squadron - Defensive Positioning
    • Establish a defensive perimeter around the Aranar. Protect the flagship and be ready to engage incoming threats.
  • Tuitio Support Boat - Support and Extraction
    • Stand by in support formation. Be prepared to lend shields to capital ships under fire or assist with rapid extraction of ground forces as needed.
  • Blizzard-class Heavy Starcarrier (VIPER Squadrons) - Reserve Forces
    • Keep all VIPER squadrons on high alert in reserve. Be ready to deploy swiftly if the situation escalates.
  • GAMS-346 Astrocat Blockade Runner & Sarlacc-Class Snare-Bearer - Blockade and Containment
    • Position to block potential escape routes. Engage and contain the Steel Aurora or any enemy ships attempting to flee.
  • Aranar-class Orbital Defense Battlecruiser - Orbital Firepower
    • Maintain orbit and prepare for heavy fire support. Be ready to deliver orbital strikes as needed to support ground operations or neutralize high-value targets.
  • Great Mother Shark - Prepare for High-Speed Engagement
    • "Great Mother Shark, prime all engines and prepare for immediate high-speed maneuvering. Be ready to engage at full speed on my command. Ensure all systems are optimized for rapid acceleration and full combat readiness. Stand by for further orders to move swiftly and engage targets as needed.

Valmy’s system amped up as the stim quickly took effect. Energy pulsed through her blood and muscles, but it also made her mind work faster too. ”Frack, frack, frack,” Valmy muttered as natural nerves were exasperated by the stim running through her blood. In a perfect galaxy the stim would have provided laser focus along with the physical advantages it provided. Sometimes that was the case. But when faced with a being as intimidating in every way as Rafaela was, the increased synapses in Valmy’s brain all drove towards panic.

Every shot taken at the dark Valkyrie seemed to be intercepted and pushed aside with no effect. Easily for that matter. That only built up the panic in Valmy’s thoughts, but it made her grip on her blade tighten and her feet started to stir as if they thought of running even before the message was sent from Valmy’s brain to do so. The attack on Delight was even more awesome. Though it had not been done as intended, the power of it made Delight drop the weapon that was the intended target and ran off towards the closest bit of cover, where she hid.

Spike and BoomBoom continued their assaults. It was clear that they would not be successful, but the feeling through the whole squad seemed to be to delay defeat as long as possible and maybe they would be spared. Valmy at least had a promise of that, but she wasn’t exactly confident that the black winged woman was going to follow through with that promise.

Despite the shifting of her feet Valmy never took “flight” from the situation. Partly in awe of what Rafaela could do, partly in curiosity of what was going to come next, and partly assuming that if she made herself scarce Rafaela might make an example of her squadmates. Rafaela started forward and Valmy managed to focus some on at least trying to put up a defense. Her blade wasn’t going to hold out long against a lightsaber, but that was all she had at the moment. She’d use it the best she could and then start dodging like crazy when it inevitably failed. ”You trying to herd me?” Valmy questioned as it seemed that while Rafaela’s strikes would certainly end things quickly if Valmy stood still and took it, the purpose seemed more calculated. ”I’ll move wherever you want…for a moment at least,” Valmy continued a little bit of confidence building as she began to feel like more of a toy than an opponent. Toys could last for quite some time. And this toy would play Rafaela’s game and hope for an opening as she retreated backwards or side to side depending on what the easiest direction was to avoid being sliced in pieces.

The battle continues to rage. The floor shudders. The Reporter does not flinch.

"Any good journalist reports on all sides. But that does not always mean that both sides are equal in wrongdoing." Valerson says absently, "If these terrorists perform acts of terror upon civilians then I will make mention of it. But from what I can see such acts of terror are wholly on the Imperial side of the court. Baroness Bella, I bring up the Emperor's odd pattern of behaviour to highlight his choatic, unstable, and clearly stimulant-addled - him admitting towards being overly caffinated on the eve of battle - nature."

The Baroness launches into a tirade against the Reporter. Now he does flinch: a raised eyebrow. Maybe it is because she's hitting him where it matters most (his wallet) or maybe he's more hurt that his reputation is being called into question. For a journalist, reputation is everything.

"Baroness Bella," he coughs and flips a page in his notebook, "the purpose of this interview is not to discuss me but you. Not the conduct of the Coalition Forces but of the Emperors. I presented these pieces of very public evidence on the Emperor's pattern of behaviour. Do you have faith that this Emperor will bring an end to corruption, waste, and needless destruction given everything you've seen about him?

Rimmer looked at the comm officer and nodded. ”Lt. Kovasch all plans on planet are to move ahead as planned ” Rimmer gave another hand signal to the comm officer and a channel was opened to more assets on the planet. ”The Crusader fleet has met with more than expected resistance. We cannot support the extraction of resources. A plan is in the works. Continue all plans. You’ll know when the extraction shall begin.”

<<Copy that Hammer. Kovasch out.>> Dieter said ending the communication line. He fired off another blast of bolts into some more rebels. He turned his head slightly to look back at Amiggie, "You miss count, I am at fifteen with that last burst. Haha, this is fun."

"So what's the situation?!" Ami shouted using the tin can for cover as she continued to open fire on the TAC forces. "You think we can reach those facilities in time?!"

"With our current forces, we should be able to secure the facilities, but ultimately it is up to how hard we are pushed. But our bet still stands." Dieter said with a stressful but playful tone. He lifted his arm and pressed a button on his forearm. "Sergeant-Major, what's your time on this load?"

The Stormtrooper Sgt-Major replied, "We've got about two minutes left on this load. The facility was chock full. I've already sent two squads over to the next one across the street. Once we're done here we'll send the other two over to thirty-five. We're moving as fast as we can."

"Thank you for the sitrep. Crusader, what says the scout you sent to rally some of the additional troops?" Dieter responded.

"They were only able to spare two heavy weapons squads, they're inbound on an IFV. About a minute out." The Crusader LT. responded.

"Keep up the pace. I don't know what the city looks like but, I do not want you all to be trapped here."

Dieter looked up to another rebel charging at him firing his blaster, the bolts ricoceting off of his heavy powered armor. He slapped both his rifle and vibrosword against his magnetically charged armor securing them on himself; he reached and grabbed the rebels blaster and pointed it to the sky as the rebel nervously fired it uselessly into the aether. His other hand grasped the rebels throat, lifting him off the ground while crunching the rebels blaster hand causing it fall harmlessly to the ground.

Dieter lifted the rebel close to his helmet, the rebel pulling out a vibroknife trying to stab into Dieter's neck but only finding armor plating. His modulated voice small, but filled with hate rang out so that only himself, the rebel, and Amiggie behind him could hear.

"Do you know the sound of a back splitting in two?" He asked the rebel as the knife flew out of his hand, morale dropping the longer he was held by Kovasch.

"N..No..." the rebel said with Dieter's hand around his throat.

"May you find peace in the force." Dieter said lifting the rebel above his head, while beginning to kneel.

"NO! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!" The rebel yelled. Another of his compatriots began to rush Dieter but was quickly dispatched by one of his platoon's soldiers. There was a small clank as his knee made contact with the ground.

"RAHH!!" He shouted bringing the rebel trooper down onto his knee, with a terribly loud cRACK. The rebel rolled off of his knee unconscious. As Dieter stood up he unattached his rifle and fired a round into their back. Silently he said "Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves. For the Empire."

He turned around just as a voice rang out, not from his comlink, but from the Stork's internal audio systems <<ATTENTION INCOMING FIGHTERS! TAKE COVER!>> That was coupled by the swiveling of the Stork's dual-purpose quad laser cannons pointing, tracking, and firing on the incoming bombing run. The Spider Walker's homing missile launchers also began tracking the squadron.

A squadron of Y-TIEs, flanked by a squadron of Death Seeds for defense, swooped down from the upper atmosphere, streaking over their allies on the ground and past the spider walkers. The priority was stopping their Stork from getting off the ground. As the Ugly bombers flew overhead, three would drop their Proton Torpedo payload on the Imperial transport. The Death Seeds, following up the strike, would fire their turbolasers on the ground troops and the spider walkers alike.

The Stork's quadruple laser cannons fired at the fighters themselves as the anti-missile octects shot out to intercept the proton torpedoes. It caught two of them before they could make contact and the third hit the Stork's shield harmlessly to the Stork, but peppering the infantry below who couldn't make it to cover in time. The spider walkers homing missiles let loose, thirty in total, fifteen from each spider walker.

The Death Seeds strafed the spider walkers and infantry, damaging the walkers and killing or injuring around a squad of Stormtrooper. Just as they thought the assault was over an invisible bolt went through the north walkers leg.

The shot was loud as a translucent bolt of intense energy shot out from the rifle and burned right through the leg of the spider tank. He wasn’t looking to outright destroy it. Just make it inoperable.

The walker trembled as its leg joint crumbled and the entire walker came crashing down with it. The crew inside exited fast, they ran and deployed a rope down the side of the building rappeling down as fast as they could. Once they were all on the ground the commander pulled out a remote detonater and pressed a button, exploding the walker that sat on the top of the roof. The firey wreckage fell in through the roof causing a massive amount of dust to be blown everywhere, but allowing the crew to get back to friendly lines.

"Commander, what happened?" Dieter asked.

"Not sure, from the hole on the leg it was either from inside the city or on those hills out there, but I'm not sure." He said pointing in the general direction of A'Runda A'Runda , but not definitively at him.

"Thank you Commander. Please assist the troopers." He said with a head nod toward the facilities, "All units be advised there may be a possible sniper. Direction unknown at this time."

He looks to Amiggie picking her up off the ground and bolts hitting him in the back, "Keep assaulting or fall back to the line, I'll follow your lead firey-one." He said turning around to unleash another group of bolts in the direction of more rebels.

Braze felt the emotion surge, hot and raw, as he watched the Empire of the Lost Soldiers ruthlessly break the rebels' backs. It was a visceral, gnawing anger that clawed at his insides, urging him to act, to do something. Every logical fiber in him screamed to stay in his sniper position, to stick to the plan—but that distant, rational voice was drowned out by the relentless drumbeat of his heart, pounding with a rising fury. The itchy ghillie suit was nothing now, just a minor irritation compared to the storm brewing inside him. His helm zoomed in on the battlefield, and the sight made his blood boil.

"I can't stay out of this... Cover me," Braze hissed through gritted teeth, the decision snapping into place like a blade unsheathing.

He moved before the words had fully left his lips, springing to his feet with a speed that defied the eye. The world blurred around him as he darted forward, a streak of motion too fast, too deadly, to be real. His steps were almost soundless, barely disturbing the grass beneath him as he zigzagged across the field, a phantom closing in on his prey. The rebels were outmatched, struggling—and Braze couldn't let them fall alone.

The moment he reached the enemy ranks, Braze exploded into action. He became a living weapon, a blur of motion and color that struck with terrifying precision. His twin blades ignited—teal and indigo, whirling arcs of light that carved through the air in lethal archs. Every movement was fluid, a seamless flowing motion of destruction as he tore into the outermost ranks of the Empire soldiers.

Weapons shattered, hands were severed, knees were capped, and bodies crumpled under the onslaught of Braze's relentless fury. He was, truely relentless, cutting down man after man with an efficiency that bordered on the inhuman. There was no hesitation, no mercy—only the cold, sharp edge of his focus, honed to a deadly point.

The soldiers had practically no time to react, no chance to defend themselves as Braze ripped through their lines. He was a ghost, appearing and disappearing with each vicious strike, his lightsabers flashing in the dim light like the fangs of a predator. He moved with a destructive vigor, a torrent of action that surged forward with unstoppable force. None had seen this side of the white-haired youth before—a child in appearance, but a whirlwind of death in motion.

This was no ordinary child. This was a warrior who had honed his skills to the extreme, driven by a deep, burning passion for the fight. His movements were not just practiced—they were perfected, each strike delivered with obsessive precision, each kill a marked display to his dedication.

Should anyone have gotten a clear look at him in that moment, they would have seen the whirling blades of destruction were wielded by a boy. A boy who fought not just with skill, but with a fire that consumed him from within, driving him to devastate the ranks of his enemies with an unholy fervor.

And as he fought, the words pounded in his mind, a mantra that fueled his every move:

Overwhelm the enemy,
Outwit the adversaries,
Overtake the challenges,
Outlast the trials,
Overcome the hardships,
Outlive the storm,
Outmatch the impossible.

Braze was a storm incarnate, and there was no stopping him now.

The ceiling shook and with it, Bella felt her montrals twitch as the vibrations seized her awareness, nearly causing her to grimace. Fortunately, the Togruta held her expression in a tight, focused set as Val spoke his point, retaining the instinctual, unflinching composure of an interceptor ace with an enemy hot on her six.

"Baroness Bella," he coughs and flips a page in his notebook, "the purpose of this interview is not to discuss me but you. Not the conduct of the Coalition Forces but of the Emperors. I presented these pieces of very public evidence on the Emperor's pattern of behaviour. Do you have faith that this Emperor will bring an end to corruption, waste, and needless destruction given everything you've seen about him?"

“You are in denial Mr. Valerson, but perhaps I can understand your misinformed conclusions if these are the lies being spoken of His Imperial Majesty.” Bella began. “Regardless, I will give you the truth. I don’t need to have faith. The Emperor himself—no matter his alleged insanity, his megalomania, or his eccentricities—represents the end of those very social and political ills. An end to corruption, waste, and needless destruction! By virtue of his presence and legitimacy, we have stability, we have peace, we have—”

“Cut, cut!” A voice rang out, interrupting Bella just before she would have finished. “We are no longer on live. That’s it. Thank you, Baroness.”

Bella nodded and took a short, relieved breath, before taking off her headset. However, her relief was short-lived. The short-statured Togruta glanced up, only to find that the screen streaming the live feed was not projecting a commercial or a recap of the interview, but rather an emergency state announcement projected in bold red letters.

Moments later, the reporter, a glowy-hued Vainalorium woman with a voluminous, elegantly-bouffanted mane of blonde hair sitting atop her skull, appeared on the screen, her luminescent features marked by an unusually dour, saddened expression.

“Blessed Imperial citizens, this is an emergency state announcement. I repeat, this is an emergency announcement. A few minutes ago, Imperial military and civilian channels across multiple sectors began to transmit a rallying cry on a repeating loop—For the Emperor. We have just now received confirmation of its meaning, from High Moff Teckla Tane. It is with indescribable grief and—”

The reporter suddenly stopped, a single tear, whether forced or genuine, streamed down from one of her eyes. She did not bother to wipe it away.

“Sadness that I announce the death of Our Imperial Majesty…” Another pause. “His Excellency, Emperor for Life, Lover of all Porgs, Galactic Conqueror, and Genius with an IQ of over 1000…Imperial Emperor Velran Kilran…has passed away, while waging a defensive operation against the Tingel Arm Coalition.” With that, the image went back to the besieged Imperial Complex, displaying Imperial flags flown at half-mast as rebel invaders pushed deep into the city in the backdrop.

“Is this it? That’s the interview?” Bella asked the Imperial officer who had stepped in only moments prior, his expression laced with equal parts disbelief and sadness.

“Yes, Baroness. Of course. Your duty here is finished.” The officer spoke, shaking his head as he did.

“Call the hangar and have them prepare the Jägerin. It’s time to fly.”

Final Post.

The Reporter looks at the broadcast of the Emperor's death absently. He's heard Baroness Bella's words come out of a thousand mouths: Confederate, Alliance, Imperial, Jedi, even Sith—stability and peace are what anyone in this Galaxy who has gone upside down wants. But they never question if those who promise such things want them to come into effect. After all, fear and chaos are what brought them into power. Why would they want them gone?

That's why despots and their followers fear the truth. The moment the people have the truth their smoke and mirrors disappear.

Then maybe, just maybe, we'll have actual stability and peace.

But that will never happen. The Reporter chuckles to himself. Even if you report on corruption, murder, and debauchery in the highest office... turns out the people don't want to hear that. People would rather buy into the illusion of peace and stability.

Better to milk the Galaxy for all its credits.

He lights up a chandrilan cigarra.

"That's a wrap ladies and gentlemen."

Steel Aurora

Aldron Ironclad received the message from Phoenix Command with a noticeable frown. In the not so distant past Aldron and Baik Rimmer had both been pirating throughout Hutt Space. They weren’t exactly rivals, but they weren’t friends either. It was mostly an “honor among thieves” thing. Until Aldron found himself in a bit of a jam and Baik lent a hand to ensure that the Hutts didn’t board Aldron’s ship. It was really just a continuation of the thieves community looking out for each other over the ones they were thieving from, but Aldron decided that he owed Rimmer. And to his current displeasure he vocalized said debt.

Captain Ironclad had since gone legitimate, transporting any and all goods from the Corporate Sector all along the Hydian Way. While his clients weren’t always of the highest moral fiber, his work was now above board and lucrative enough to be able to purchase the Steel Aurora to use as his singular business asset. He had hardly imagined that when the debt to Rimmer was called in he’d be taking his livelihood into a warzone to collect Imperial resources, but he wasn’t one to welch on a debt. So here he was. But he sure as hell wasn’t going to risk his ship by threatening hostilities. ”I can see the situation Phoenix Command. Sorry I took this job already. Should have known there was a reason why the fees were so off kilter. I am shutting down all systems not vital to survival and awaiting further instructions.”

Aldron grumbled as he shut down the comm and swiveled his command chair to his senior bridge crew. ”Comply with anything other than allowing them to board. We have nothing to hide at this time, but I lived too long as a pirate to create the precedent that I accept outside boots on my deck.” The statement was met with steely stares of understanding.

”If they demand we leave, jump to the far side of the moon and go dark. Send out directions to the resources on the surface using the encryption Rimmer provided. I’m settling my debt today.”

On planet Knight Sule Angar’s Thunder Squad was evacuating the key Imperial personnel from the Imperial Complex. Capital City was lost. That was the assumed outcome all along. The people of Lothal hated the Empire, and the Empire didn’t give the people of Lothal a second thought. The only intent of the Empire was to retain as many resources as possible. The complete failure of the interim NISB Staff Director had resulted in Admiral Rimmer’s forces being overrun in orbit. The intelligence reports also grossly underestimated the ground assault of the rebels as well. That being the case the elite ground forces of the Empire were on to plan C. Grab what you can and survive. There was a “freighter” in orbit to collect anyone who was able to make orbit. But the possibility that plan D, surrender, was a temporary possibility was becoming more and more likely. Especially when the bad news from Dac was delivered. The Emperor was dead. Dac was a disaster zone. Another failure of readiness perpetrated by the NISB. Nothing that could be changed now. The last passenger was loaded onto Angar’s Stork dropship and she pressed the control to raise the boarding ramp. ”Make for orbit. Keep weapons offline and broadcast that we are carrying non-combatant refugees. We’ll see what kind of animals these rebels are.”

“Huh…” A’Runda wasn’t given any time to react to what the padawan was telling him before he saw the child blitz down the hillside towards the city. “W-Wait!” The Tusken barked from his prone position before growling under his mask. Braze was too enamored with their own excitement now to follow through with their tasks right now. The walker he shot had also blown up as well. Creating something of a smoke screen that kept him from seeing his targets. He wasn’t going to even cover Braze like they asked.

Letting go of the oversized rifle he stood up and narrowed his eyes behind the crimson lenses of his goggles. Bringing his hands up he unfastened his ragged ghillie cloak over his shoulders and let it fall back onto the grassy ground behind him. Knowing that if he didn’t act quickly and decisively that Braze could hurt themself in body, mind and spirit.

Taking in a few deep breaths A’Runda stepped forwards before leaning down. Stretching his legs back and pressing his feet against the ground and holding out his hands against the grass beneath him. Reading himself in a four-point start like an athletic sprinter. Focusing his body and power through The Force until he pushed off the ground behind him to rapidly accelerate his body with explosive force. Kicking up a large amount of dirt behind him to run after the padawan that just ditched. Unlike Braze who zigzagged their way down the hill and into the city, A’Runda trajectory was far more direct, like a speeding repulsor-train barrelling across the land. Leaving behind the lightsaber rifle to collect later.

As he sprinted after the boy the tusken grabbed his double bladed lightsaber and ignited it. Activating both ends simultaneously as the rather unique weapon howled to life. It’s crimson blades crackling and sparking, making his form appear like a bright red blur as he made a bee-line for Braze

Once he was close enough A’Runda ceased his sprint and slid harshly against the ground. The speed and momentum he carried followed closely behind him as a gust of wind blew away the smoke and dust that surrounded Braze. Dispelling that what was concealing the carnage the boy was creating and the mamed bodies that laid about. The dutiful tusken wasted no time, no energy or breath in even addressing the young echani. Stepping closer to them he fluidly spun and twirled his double bladed saber around him to knock away blaster bolts that threatened his personal space. The towering tusken loomed over Braze before his free hand shot down and grabbed a big fist full of the back of the boy’s shirt and scruffy cloak.

Wasting no time, A'Runda bent his knees, his legs forming very acute angles as he lowered himself. Gathering up his energy and power before violently launching himself into the air with a mighty leap away from the scene. Taking the padawan with him and leaving behind a sizable crater where they stood. Master Kai’el entrusted him with the safety of his padawan, and A’Runda would be damned if he was just gonna let the young echani throw themselves away for the heat of battle.

On the bridge of the Aranar-class Battlecruiser, Zane Harlock studied the tactical display. "This doesn’t feel right. They show up right after Strike Fleet Aurek leaves? No way that’s a coincidence."

Grax Tolwin nodded, already working on the console. "They’re here for more than just a pickup. It’s too convenient."

Lieutenant Korr Sarn, the Duros Tactical Officer, stepped forward. "Their positioning is too precise for a simple freighter. They’re likely here on someone’s orders. We should expect hidden agendas and be ready for any surprises."

Fizz, busy monitoring engine systems, added, "If they were legit, they’d have left by now."

Kip chimed in, "They’re either waiting for someone or being used as bait."

Zane decided, "Let’s keep them close. Grax, offer them assistance and direct them to a designated landing zone. We need to keep them in check."

Grax opened a channel to the Steel Aurora. "Captain Ironclad, Phoenix Command here. We understand you’ve found yourself in a difficult situation. We’ve designated a safe landing zone on Lothal for you to wait out the conflict. It’s secure, and we’ll ensure you’re kept out of harm’s way."

Before the Steel Aurora could respond, Zane turned to Korr. "Run a tactical analysis. If they try to move out of orbit, I want to know the best intercept course."

Korr nodded, his red eyes narrowing as he focused on the tactical display. "I’ll plot their potential escape vectors and position our forces to block them effectively."

Zane then turned to Grax. "Keep tracking the Steel Aurora and relay orders to a pair of Phantomray Stealth Assault Fighters. I want them to move up and apply some dust to that star destroyer-sized frigate. We need to keep a close eye on them."

Grax quickly transmitted the orders. "Phantomray Fighters, this is Phoenix Command. Move up and dust the Steel Aurora. Keep your stealth systems active and monitor their every move. Report back immediately if you detect any unusual activity."

Meanwhile, Sergeant Mira Vos, the Togruta Ground Operations Coordinator, was overseeing the preparation of the landing zone on Lothal. She spoke over the comms to Zane, "Landing zone is secured. We’ve got troops in position, and I’ve arranged for a quick response team in case they try anything once they’re on the ground. We’ll be ready for whatever they have planned."

Zane nodded, appreciating the thoroughness. "Good work, Mira. Keep your team on high alert."

With the orders given, Zane then turned his attention to the nearby battlecruisers. "Korr, start moving our battlecruisers closer. I want a closer look at that frigate. The Mother Shark should be in a position to get eyes on them soon."

Korr adjusted the fleet's movements. "The Mother Shark is moving in. We’ll have visual contact shortly."

As the preparations continued, Zane opened a secure channel to their allies. "This is Phoenix Command. We’ve intercepted a star destroyer-sized frigate identifying as the Steel Aurora. Their arrival is highly suspicious, and we’re investigating further. We’ve ordered them to land, and our forces are moving in to apply pressure. Stay on alert and be ready to assist if needed. We’ll keep you updated. Coordinates sent.

Grax, always thorough, ensured the message was received and understood by their allies. "Transmission sent, and acknowledgment received. Our allies are on standby."

Zane nodded, his focus returning to the tactical display. "Alright, everyone, stay sharp. We’ll see what they do next."

The crew remained vigilant, watching as the Phantomray Fighters moved into position and the battlecruisers closed in on the Steel Aurora, ready for whatever came next.

"Chit! Chit!" From the corner of her eye, Ami saw a figure moving faster than the eye can see. With each move they made at least 10 soldiers were cut down some in bite sized chunks. Ami raised her Blaster Carbine trying to get a lead on the target but at the speed they're going, Ami might as well be targeting a Fly. Even the HUD system in her helmet couldn't make out who target was but judging by the faint humming sound and the cauterized wounds by the dead Imperial solders, Ami assumed that it was a Jedi of sorts.

"Ugh I hate those bathrobe wearing bastards," Ami muttered remembering her tussles with them back in when she served the NIO. "Tiny! I don't have a visual on the target!"

The being moved faster than anything Ami had seen, the Imperial Troopers were blindly firing their blasters in hopes that a stray bolt could catch them. Yet the results ended in their gruesome deaths. It's bad enough to fail a mission and risked getting executed by a commanding officer or worse get chewed up by them, now Ami has to deal with this harbinger of destruction.

"Frack me!" Ami slowly backed away her eyes darting furiously for the target. Her heart was racing, was this going to be the end? "If I die," Ami muttered. "I just hope Buttercup could deliver the news to my parents."

If Myri Dara Myri Dara is still around that is.

However, the continuous chopping of troopers ceased, and the figure disappeared. Ami blinked before taking a deep breath. "Okay!" Ami yelled out. "I need a fracking drink after this!"

"You are not going to die on me. PARAGONS, full-defensive, get whatever doonium you can and get that Stork in the air. Sergeant-major get your troopers out of here. Crusader on me I can't take both of them." There was a rouse of affirmatives across multiple comms. As Dieter picked up Amigge in his arms, and rocket jumped back to their makeshift defensive line and handed her to a paragon. "Soldier give me your blade." The soldier complied and now Dieter had two vibroswords. He turned around, "Carrots, get to the Stork, keep with the paragons, they'll keep you safe. I'll see you for a drink later."

He stood up and began walking towards the two lightsaber-wielders assaulting his troops.

"HEY! YOU THERE CHILD, YOU'RE WORSE THAN ME! LOOK AT HOW MUCH BLOOD YOU'VE SPILT!" It was obvious that he was trying to get a rise out of the pint-sized Jedi. Normally, Dieter expected it to not work, but even he could see that emotions fueled this boy. Dieter crouched low and ran at the boy with unnatural speed, for a normal human, but he wasn't a human, he was Atoan. His extreme muscle mass aided by his powered armor allowed him to clear the gap between them fast. He used his two lightsaber-resistant vibroblades to block an attack meant for a stormtrooper, he quickly followed it with a roundhouse kick to the boy's stomach. Whether or not it landed, it hopefully would cause the small Jedi to retreat even for a second.

Dieter turned his head towards the trooper he just saved while keeping his eyes on his opponent, "Go, to the stork now." The crusader walked up behind Dieter, "I have your back."

Dieter relaxed his stance, and pointed a blade at Braze Braze , "You there, you fight me. No need to bring in the troopers who have just been collecting materials. They did nothing, but you and me we're murderers now. Although you probably don't see it that way." After saying that he went back into a defensive stance, rather than an attacking one.

"And you," the Crusader said pointing his saber at A'Runda A'Runda , "You'll fight me." He gave Dieter a small nod and entered a similar defensive stance.

Teresa could feel the fear and the worry, she could feel this woman's comrades anger how hungry she was to feel those feelings and emotions to become tenfold. For once I could, she thought while dancing with the small human. "Herd you? My are you telling me you are that wild that I should treat you like an animal?" she teased while the woman moved lots to avoid her strikes.

"I don't particularly care where you run to. But if you are not keeping me occupied then," Her purple blade continued without unnoticed using the blind spot of the sun. Teresa was sure Boomboom who was behind her was in full view of Valmy. Without any remorse the Blackened Valkyrie giggled as her blade impaled through the mercenary's throat and out of his back. "The other three will die in moments."

She relaxed her aura allowing it to finally permeate the area around them. It allowed Teresa to send a spine chilling feeling so violent and heavy that one could almost choak. Both the yellow and white lightsaber pushed out further towards the other two widening the circle in which she can act. "Humm, I wonder, oh I do wonder when you will attack me with all your heart." She smiled, her voice a seductive and playful again with an edge. "Come now pet bear your teeth already."
