Excellent, Commander Vereen was on the way to her location, thought Tmoxin. Wraith was still nowhere to be found.

The Hapan officer could see a small contingent of scouts on their way back. As they approached, Sergeant Maar, the leader of the Morpho scout squad, reported in: "The Yuuzhan Vong have dug tunnels under the trees, and they are using the trees as the entrances into the tunnels."

No wonder they've been so hard to eliminate. They have literally gone underground to survive. She nodded and thought how great it would be to just bury them in those tunnels and not even have to fight these tough, blood-thirsty aliens at all. She again radioed Draco Vereen. "What kind of heavy explosives do you have with you Commander? I'd like to try and blast the Vong either out of their position or bury them underground."

All of a sudden they heard a bellowing war-cry in Yuuzhan Vong and a contingent of five Vong scouts came rushing out from a nearby grove of trees, looking for a fight. Immediately they were fired upon by the Morpho Security Team, but Tmoxin, almost not even conscious of it, ignited her lightsaber.

Sergeant Maar was a little stunned and beside her, he asked, "Commander are you a... Jedi?"

"Not exactly," she answered, shouting over the noise. "And don't concern yourself with me. Worry about eliminating those Vong scouts, Sergeant!"

With both of his main alts in this Dominion busy waiting on other things, like a [member="Cryax Bane"] and perhaps a [member="Jeong Hye"] for Jenn, and a [member="Rilus Mercer Sieron"] for a Marek, Corey had to take matters into his own hands to write and have fun here in Doldur. That meant making a new alt.

That meant making that alt play-do.

That meant making NPCs that could help other writers come to their full and climax their stories so hard? So. Hard.

But right now, also, Stinger was waiting on things to do, that was one NPC down. So Corey had to go get the blue and red play-dough and make something happen. That meant throwing Vong at the likes of [member="Tmoxin Temi"] and @Orick T’ane and the [member="One-Two"] step and [member="Abraxas"] and [member="Anastasia Rade"] and probably [member="Draco Vereen"] and @Aron Rodie and of course [member="Seto Du Couteau"].

That meant Vong from the swamp.

That meant Vong who took over swamp creatures and created a massive Saurton that was Vong formed and waltzing out of the marsh. Being escorted by a dozen Vong warriors with their amphistaffs all pedigreed and ready for action. That meant Godzilla Vong versus Force users.

Leggo.

Nine.

For the first time in years, Genesis felt alive again.

Having been "rightfully" pressured into an early retirement in light of what had transpired at Atrisia, the former Grand Marshal had spent quite some being idle. Retirement was not exactly something that he enjoyed; especially since the nation he helped create was in the middle of a war. Sure, he wanted for nothing. Sure, he received a rather handsome severance package in light of his service. Yet neither of these realities satisfied him. Genesis Rostu was a man of action, of force. Sitting around for days on end was a worse punishment than execution in his book.

So, he weaseled his way back in.

A member of the New Executive Council, Arakyd Industries, found itself in need of some experienced hands to lead its corporate fleet. Genesis dove at that opportunity like a fat kid leaping at a buffet. His credentials were more than enough to land the job; and soon he found himself dispatched to the Doldur System. The mission of the day was to secure the Corellian Run in the hopes that it cut off the Rebel Alliance. Personally, Genesis was all for this plan, as he had the distinct displeasure of dealing with a previous cell of Rebels many years back.

It was as if those who took up that iconic name were doomed to be incompetent ants throwing sticks at giants.

Nonetheless, the new Vice-Admiral took his orders and got to work. A small congregation of vessels emerged from hyperspace and parked themselves in the midst of the Doldur System. There, the engineers that were aboard began their assignments whilst a detachment of vessels began a preliminary sweep of the area. The "geek squad" were tasked with developing an early warning system: one that could be deployed along the length of the hyperlane.

And Genesis...was perfectly fine with watching the group eagerly go about their assignment.

Mina Dahma's private yacht landed in a spaceport near the building site of the new Techno Union Obsidian Spire. She was looking for someone from her past and the normally composed Coruscant art dealer was nervous, even though she desperately wanted to find this individual. Today she dressed somewhat conservatively as she didn't want to make a bad impression if she was able to find the person who she had tracked to this location. Her hat was shaped like a leaf and she wore a matching suit-dress:

zK2OnOLm.jpg

She had no connections whatsoever to the Obsidian Order, nor did she have direct connections to the Techno Union. She did know [member="Darell Irani"], having viewed an art collection once at his home. There were also plans to make a second Wilhelmine Dahma Art Gallery in a spacestation with funding from the businessman, but those plans were dragging along. It didn't matter. Mina had been preoccupied with this search and had no time for affairs which didn't move along like clockwork. Little did she know that Mr. Irani would be arriving at the same location shortly.

The Countess stood outside of the under-construction Spire and made her way into the lobby. She took a deep breath and went up to the attendant who manned the front desk to inquire about the individual she had come to see.

The three vehicles pressed through small thickets of trees and over growth, capable of going faster on smoother terrain the tanks were limited to about forty kilometers an hour, which meant we were about fifteen minutes out from the Commander still. I was sure she would be fine until I arrived, but I felt like I had taken a big brother role for her, and I was fairly protective. The girls who worked for ArmaTech could attest to that. Perhaps I should look into a repulsor-lift tank. It would be faster than this version, and with the upgraded generator it could function equally well, with higher ground clearance and maximum speed. Ah what the future could hold. The point of these generators was to provide next generation power armor, vehicles, starfighters, and small capital ships.

We cleared the forests and began closing on Commander Temi's position. "Roger that Troublemaker, lets reinforce Morpho and figure out where the main group is." I said to Orick. "Commander Temi, if you have Laser Target Designators you can start calling down some fire support. Guided tank rounds and all." Hopefully she was prepared and ready to receive such assistance. I had a place for her picked out in the primary vehicle and was speeding towards her group of security.

Darien looked around, was this where his father ment. His father had sent him to make some connections and hopefully find himself either a trainer or at the very least some people his age to talk to. Darien hated being alone in crowded places, he didn't understand why he couldn't stay at home or just go to the office with his father. He took another step into the spire taking a deep breath as he did.

"Man up Darien" He repeated over and over in his head. He didn't want to disappoint his father, he was too old to be nervous.

He wiped his palms onto his trousers. It was a bad habit he needed to stop. another step. He approached the attendants desk working up the courage to make words come out of his mouth. Next to him was a rather well dressed lady, he vaguely recognised her from a holonet article she had an art gallery. Darien liked art art was safe.

"Erm.. Hi ... can you point me in the direction of someone who can enroll me in force training " He eventually said to one of the attendants "I was told the order handled that?"

Troublemaker. She couldn't help but smile under her helmet as she heard her husband's call name for the first time. It suited him quite well, she could see how he had got it. Orick not only made trouble for others but had a knack of getting into trouble as well. This wasn't the sort of date she had planned but hey it paid the bills. It also gave her the chance to play with new force abilities she had been reading about. This practical experience was much more fun than sitting in a training room practicing by herself.

"Let's go barbecue some Vong," she grinned at him even though he couldn't see her. It was nice seeing him in his Mando armor. It looked good on him even if it was bigger than a few other armor sets that he had managed to pick up. She suspected that they would be done with this job in no time thanks to all of the droids that they had brought with them to this party. "After this, wanna grab something to eat?" Ana would have suggested some bbq chicken but after her suggestion decided probably not the best plan. Ana had a feeling that he wouldn't say no to an actual date either out or her cooking. They could even just find a nice quite place to relax for a bit and get away from the fighting after their first deployment together.

Her HUD wasn't picking up any unfriendlies at the moment but something told Ana that the Vong were on their way. They were not going to let the Union take this planet easily and were probably hiding for the time being. If they wanted to play hide and seek Ana would play. They won't like it when she finds the Vong though.

Eyes narrowing as he swung his legs down, off of the makeshift bed that was built for the Medic to look at his leg. Seto gingerly pressed more and more weight unto his leg as he steadily walked towards one of the supply caches to replenish his Flamethrower's fuel cell. His HUD brought up the surrounding area of more units moving deeper into the marsh, spreading far and wide to smoke out the rest of the Vong laying in wait for them.

Seto, now satisfied with a new Fuel Cell and bringing along an extra one, he quickly marched back to his speeder bike. Fingers revving the engine as located the most forward party of troops with his HUD, communications were being sent of multiple parties that have made contact with the Vong. Decisions, decisions Seto mused to himself as he tracked his target location with his HUD. He noted that more units were coming in, notably War Droids, a smirk tugged on the corners of his masked face as Seto propelled himself forward with his speeder bike.

He maneuvered his speeder bike through the marsh, smoothly dodging each tree as his HUD displayed his route to reach a Scout's distress signal. His sensor flared up as Seto took out his lightsaber, ignited as he swung forward while on his speeder bike. A Vong had launched itself at Seto from the upper branches of one of the trees. Its bladed staff smashed against's Seto's saber but with the momentum of the speeder bike and extra help of the Force Seto pushed off the attack as the Vong landed behind Seto.

Seto forced his speeder bike to a halt as he turned it so to face the Vong once more, Where's the scout? Seto asked himself, he wondered if the Vong had actually allowed the Scout to call out for help in hopes of catching another easy prey. Wrong prey Seto mused as his left hand turned forward and launched his speeder bike towards the Vong Warrior.

Before she had time to inquire about the person she sought, a young man approached her with a familiarity as if he knew her. Of course, she was a regular guest on the HNN show, Coruscant Culture, so perhaps he was familiar with her celebrity status.

After the young man talked to the attendant, Mina turned to him and said: "I am a guest here myself and am looking for someone who is just about your age who is also enrolled at the academy. Or I think she is probably about your age. How old are you, young man?" she asked.

Although this human male appeared to be a teenager - she wasn't really sure on first glance - her daughter would be twenty-three years of age. But they were in the same realm of youth and idealism.

"In fact why don't we take a tour together," she said. "You can help me find who I'm looking for."

Darien turned in shock as the Lady he saw earlier started to talk, was he talking to him ... she was. His stomach dropped what was he supposed to do. Had he done something to anger the woman. Maybe he had cut the queue. He quickly glanced around there was no queue and on balance the lady didn't seem angry.

Calm down his said to himself in his head. He took a deep breath and Listened she was asking his age, she was only asking his age. He chuckled to himself how stupid he had been. Then it occurred to him he was supposed to answer "Erm ... I'm 17 ..." He replied then the voice of his old headmaster rang in his head 'Manners Darien , Manners above everything' so he quickly followed it up with a My Lady. He wondered why she wanted his age, in his panic he hadn't actually heard the first thing she said to him.

The she suggested he take a tour with her, that was better than going round along and she was an art collector and darien liked art so he'd probably like her. "Of course that would be grand ... I'm Darien, Darien Cordel a pleasure " He offered his hand out of politeness. That's what his father would do so it was probably the correct thing.

Cryax, using his fresh, new handle, "re-b00t," quickly found out that he was not alone in the vast system of numbers and lines that made up the code of the Techno Union's networks. In fact, as his red eyes flipped back and forth between the myriad of screens floating in front of his ARCs, he worried his tongue against his teeth in curiosity. Doldur had never been known to be a hotbed of slicing activity, especially the ones of the caliber he was seeing. These were more than just tiny flash pockets of cyber-spacial anarchy, flaring up because of this or that hacktivist agenda. Talent like this was rare. He hadn't seen it since those kids on Nar Shaddaa. Of course, now those kids were dead.

With a more few clicks, Bane let his daemons continue to parse through the encrypted messages now splayed out on his Holoscreens. The content still elluded him. These folks were being ridiculously careful. As expected, there was one name that seemed to be at the nucleus of everything. Stinger. Probably some nerf who got his hands on some slicing gear and...Bane's eyes widened as he noticed that even as he read it, the information was being erased. Stinger had found him. Stinger was no script-kiddie.

The question lingered: Were Stinger and his crew simply culture jamming? A bunch of kids raging against the corporate machine of the Techno Union? Or was there something else going on?

You could be the best slicer in the galaxy, but the best way to get information was still straight from the horse's mouth.

Cryax's tenor whispered some voice commands for his ARCs.

"Open Holosearch. Access darknet layer five. Search slicer forums. Post new message."

His ARCs typed out this:

Halfway post.

There was a lot of work to be done on the field of battle. With the new Saurton-Vong Hybrid creature walking through the swamp, it heard the sound of battle and, with the Vong warriors around it started heading in the direction of possibly [member="Seto Du Couteau"] ‘s speeder bike explosion. The lumbering LizardVong was nearly 2 meters tall, and build like one would expect from a Vong crossed with a sentient alligator creature. Yeah, and in the Force? It was… fuzzy, at best. Not really Force-dead, as it was a hybrid, but, y’know, weird. Like a small vessel on radar.

As for around the Obsidian Spire? All was quiet, Jennifer Blanchard was watching things happen and made sure that the crew that was accompanying [member="One-Two"] knew where their targets were.

The real part here was Stinger. Listening to his dark and heavy music like he was some kind of bad-ass, but really, he went out and wore trench coats and sunglasses and fedoras. He was one of those who would wear a mask at a rally, and from here on out? The rest of the NPCs that were going to be doing slicing, they were going to be working for someone, not just themselves. So [member="Cryax Bane"] and Jennifer Blanchard would have their work cut out for them, even if the pair didn’t know they were on the same team.

The wannabe quickly understood the message (he had time for trading cards and learning code) darknet though? That meant something! Stinger was hitting the big times, but where was he going? Darknet… level two, looking for re-b00t… Hmmm…

The droids were moving quickly across the terrain, moving with a precision that couldn't be matched by any organic forces in the galaxy. He watched as they moved along, sensors sweeping the area for any Vong presence and they wouldn't be disappointed, with the first sensor ping, there was another and then another and then there were dozens. the vong flooded out of caves and trap doors, flowing like a wave at the droids.

" Bring up the tanks. spread out the formation and allow the Baron's to flank." His words were directed towards the many droids under his command. The barron droids ignited their jet packs and rocketed up into the sky, he knew they would be dropping just behind the vong advance, catching them in a crossfire. Turning to Ana he chuckled a bit, " Barbecuing the Vong, I'm guessing you're not also suggesting we eat them too." He watched the fighting as it began in earnest, his droids were evenly matched as far as numbers went, but he had tanks and speeders to help tilt the balance in his favor and he wasn't shy about using them.

" Food sounds good, not sure there's a restaurant worth visiting on this planet, Guess we are going to have to cook something ourselves." The battle was beginning to play out in front of him and it wouldn't be long before they were both engaging vong themselves.

All he had done was walk away for a few minutes, a man had to use the restroom at times. It wasn’t easy trying to find a peaceful spot to urinate on a hostile world. Had he thought about it, he would have installed a bladder in the suit himself. Many of his contemporaries would speak about the need for discipline and self control, to which he would counter only when it was applicable. When it came to pursuits of power, or finding the true nature of the darkside sure. Out in the middle of a battlezone when one is supposed to fight for their life? No way in the galaxy would he dare hold his bladder for an additional eight hours while slaughtering the most pointless wastes of life that the galaxy could muster up. Just the mere thought of vong made him furious, and eight of them had during his trek to a peaceful spot where he could open his immortal armor.

The actual act of urination had been glorious, but getting that damn armor back on the proper way took nearly thirty minutes.

Readjusting his gear on the long trek back, he heard battle. Lives were being lost, and fear was permeating the darkside as he tilted the axis of the galaxy to revolve around himself. Power flowed through him, and strengthened what was made weak by all the years of living alone and hiding in the shadows. His joints grew strong and pliable, and the powered armor covered the flesh that could be torn apart by the enemies of the Techno Union.

He saw the commander, who was poorly using a lightsaber and ignited his own crimson blade. Instead of using his blade, he instead grabbed all those in close proximity that were the dreaded vong and launched them nearly twenty meters away from him.

“Form up, start gunning them down two at a time while I and the commander concentrate our efforts on breaking their squads.”

Set upon by malice and the bane of the Force, Abraxas found himself surrounded. The creatures stared him down, and the creation stared right back into their eyes. What was once trekking through marsh and listening to the sounds of indigenous creatures had taken a turn for the more intense and dangerous. Taking in the odds of the predicament, Abraxas slowly straightened his forearm and took aim at one of the multiple specimens before him.

//ENGAGE.//
With a shrill screech, one of the Vong lunged for the creation only to be met with a singular slug to the dome. Dropping into the mud, the body convulsed momentarily whilst the rest of the horde charged for the monstrosity himself with quite the blood-lust. Round after round was expended from Abraxas' handgun, bodies dropping around him like stones. Murky waters and mud kicked up into the air, creating quite the spectacle of action had anyone been nearby watching. The sounds of gunfire would resonate throughout the landscape, possibly attracting the attention of both Vong and potential allies. Assuming both parts would be equally present, Abraxas attempted to push his way through the mess of corpses, only to be set upon by another group of hostiles.

Activating his lightsaber in his right hand, he carved through those that chanced upon him being too slow to react; however, the creation had other plans in mind.

More gunfire and ruckus would sound off in a cacophony of battle.

For anyone in the vicinity, they would be the ones to discover the result of the skirmish.

One-Two stood silently in the center of the bridge, now that the organics had vacated the ship he was free to get back to the important task of perfecting the operation of the ship. There as a report that came through that the engines were running at .07% from peak efficiency, and it was in the process of fixing the problem. It hated the lack of perfection, there was no place for that on any ship that it commanded. Sensors pinged a bit and it stopped focusing on the engines and moved its focus to the long range sensors. Something had dropped out of hyperspace, it wasn't sure what had shown up, but there was only one signal at the moment.

Fighters were that had been on stand-by rocketed away from the cruiser, as the large ship moved forward and out of the planets orbit. Maneuvering thrusters gave way to main engines as the ship rumbled into the black, prow pointed right at the location of the hypersape signal. It watched as the fighters raced ahead, there was no emotion on its metal face, but if it was capable of one it would smile. Conflict was what it was constructed for, the mere hint of conflict made its processor jump into overdrive at the possibility of clashing with the enemies of it's owner.

It crossed it's metallic arms over it's chest, in a mock stance of many organics that it had seen in that pose. It did not know the meaning of the pose, but many organics felt it was a pose of power, and One-Tow was powerful indeed. It was the most powerful war droid ever built, and it would demonstrate that power today, with the might of its ship.

The three tanks rumbled through the underbrush, arriving about one kilometer from Commander Tmoxin's position. We slowed our advance, the sound of a firefight in progress going on ahead of us near her position. Or at least the position she had called in. "Get on the scanners. Give me a precise location on our allies so we can begin providing fire support there." I wanted this over. I wanted to leave this world and get back to Nar Shaddaa as swiftly as possible. These Vong were a minor nuisance and they had to be eradicated. The fact that we could eradicate them and test the new Generators was a lucky coincidence.

The seconds ticked by while sensors were run, then compiled, then processed into usable data and displayed on a screen "elevate ten, traverse right eighteen. Fire one." The shell resounded out, slowly arcing downwards and detonating among a group of Yuuzhan Vong shredding them with the large round. From here we could provide fire support and light up the enemy, and soon we would be close enough to shield the Morpho Security infantry from enemy fire.

Part of the erasing going on was Zero Overdrive. This Stinger might be an ally, but at the rate he was going he was going to wind up dead before the day was over. So whether he liked it or not, a lot of his reputation was about to get erased. If she had one strength, it was not leaving footprints. This was made more difficult when it was not her and the person in question had been enjoying spraypainting his name all over the holonet.

Although it was a risk, Zero sent a message directly to Stinger. She hadn't worked out his actual physical location just yet, but sending a message to him? She could manage that. She didn't bother using any of the popular holonet codes. If she sent a message it was clear and concise. And then it was erased.

//Be careful. You leave too many footprints. Techno Union shows up and a new Slicer wants to talk to you on the same day. Not a coincidence.//

Once read it would be deleted.

Her duty to Stinger absolved she felt no guilt about following behind, using his more aggressive slicing to hide the fact that she was making her way in as well. She was curious about this re-b00t. He was certainly the best of those active right now.

As the Morpho Security Unit attacked the Vong scouts, Tmoxin saw a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye. She still held her lightsaber although she wasn't keen on Jerec Wraith seeing her with this specific weapon, lest he try to wrench it out of her hands, thinking she wasn't a Force user and had no business using one. But he only glanced at it and didn't say anything. He barked an order to the troops and she turned to him, now that there was a visible break in the battle as the Vong were completely engaged by the Morpho team.

"There you are, Wraith," she said, looking him up and down. She began to ask where he had been but stopped. Do you really want to know, Tmoxin? A man or a woman... we all need a little privacy now and then. Even in a marshy woodland.

"We need to advance to the trees in which the Vong are hiding and laze the target for Commander Vereen. There are tunnels underneath these trees and the best course of action is to trap them with a large explosion."

Suddenly she heard the rumbling of tanks and noticed Commander Vereen coming up upon their flanks.

She turned to Jerec Wraith and shouted, "Get down!"

Tmoxin hit the ground as an immense artillery round landed squarely in the middle of the Vong contingent. The Commander was precise, and she marveled at his accuracy. Her own forces were not hurt, but merely blown back and would most likely lose some hearing, the ones who were really close to the blast.

A thought occured to her.. Stinger, while no slouch, was a grand stander. You know what they said about the tallest poppy. Before re-b00t took his attention he'd actually been trying to target the Techno Union ships. As if they'd miss that with the way he powered through things leaving his fingerprints everywhere. Better to fail but fail unnoticed. Chances were good that he would die. Even if he didn't..

While continuing down the path that had been laid out, spiders still crawling away on their own, Zero also began doing some serious digging on Stinger. His location didn't interest her as much as where he posted, when, his wording, his style, his contacts, his networks.

In short, if anything happened to him, Zero Overdrive had every intention of being able to don a Stinger mask and rabble-rouse the slicer community on Doldur. It would take some work of course, he had his little following of the overly enthusiastic, but convincing the other more competent, more cautious people that he was now worth listening to would take some delicate maneuvering to not blow her cover.

That was fine. Zero more than most knew the advantages of having another name and face to hide behind, and she knew the work it took to maintain it. If anyone caught on later down the road, it would be one more layer between them and her. Almost no one ever got to speak with or meet Zero Overdrive. They certainly did not get to know Jeong.
