The Crash of a Life Time.

Kay chewed the inside of her cheek as he suggested helping her to drag out the bodies. She just didn't want him to overdo it. "Well...I'm sure that by the time I've gotten a few of them out the door, you'll be done searching. Then you can help me with the rest." Compromise, compromise. That was the best solution.

When he spoke of them surviving the crash and with their special skills that'll only benefit, she had to admit that it was on her mind as well. "My seat didn't fly as much as the others did after we made impact. And I braced myself for it while others panicked. I was wondering if maybe this crash wasn't accidental. Do you think that maybe someone was trying to get rid of you? While myself and the others were just collateral damage?" She sipped her tea as she studied him and his response.

He thought about it and wondered that before returning to his thought about the Generators. "IF they did they would have had to been a pilot or passenger on the ship. There is no reason this should should have crashed with the condition of the generator and powercells from what i have seen. And there are worse planets for someone to crash onto, so it shouldn't be too big of a worry about it." He had paused his hands for a moment and decided to grab his trenchcoat and pull it around his shoulders as he checked in it. As he opened it up there were slits in the fabric where he hid daggers that could be seen now that he was checking them almost blindly. "But, just in case."

His head then turnned in her direction as he smiled. "I mean come now Kay, if someone wanted to get the people on this ship hurt over me... well then they really out did themselves. And probably should never show their face here if they like to not be tried for it."

Well he was armed, and with a bunch of daggers to boot. No doubt he was very good with them too. But his vision was limited, so it was best for them if they pressed on. Kay finished her protein bar breakfast and then washed it down with her tea. "I guess you're right. You know your enemies far better than I do." A bunch of innocent people getting in the way wouldn't of bothered her enemies. No. Instead they would turn it around and use those deaths against her, blaming her for them because she didn't do as they wanted. Politics was full of cut throats like that.

She got to her feet and held out her hand to help Solan stand, before guiding him to where she stashed the bodies. "Okay, time to be a pickpocket. If there's nothing worth keeping, or some credits, just keep them in their pockets and we'll bury them with it." Kay started on one that looked pretty easy. It was a woman with a dress and cloak, only a couple of pockets on her. Finding nothing, she dragged the body to the door, being sure to bundle herself up well before she took the body outside, while leaving Solan to pick the pockets. Sure she said earlier that he could help drag the bodies, but he had to go through all of their pockets first.

Once she was outside and had dragged the body into the hole that was now half the size that it was just yesterday, Kay looked around. It was cloudy, but not windy, just a bit breezy. On her way back to the ship, something gave her pause. There was a set of prints in the snow that didn't match her own. They seemed to lead both to and from the front of the ship near the boulder. Hmmm.

Kay didn't want to make it seem as though she noticed. She carried along as usual until she was back inside of the ship. Right away she went to Solan. "Can I see the bottom of your boots please? Either you've been sneaking out on me in the night, or we have someone snooping around."

[SIZE=14.6667px]As she helped him out there he looked at the bodies with his sight through the force and sighed. He hated to see innocents die because of his actions, he hated it yet it always happened no matter what he did. He couldn't stop it and he certain had no reason to want more. Only when she left did he just nod and start going through the pockets of those that were there. He had to stop after the first one though. He didn't know why he was having the problems that he was having.[/SIZE]

He could usually gut someone, kill them without hesitation and then use their death to feed his power. But his eyes fell on these people and all he could think was how... wrong their deaths were. If someone had sabotaged the ship he had to know, if it was an accident through and through then these people deserved to be returned to their families. Hell either way they did. Not buried without recognition on a planet he didn't even know the name of. His hands clenched tighter as he forced them back into the pockets with a disgust filling him. Looting innocents to survive. Even for him this was too far and when he was through here, and off to his home he would make sure every family knew that without their brother or sister or mother or daughter or father or son. He would make sure they knew he lived because they died and they should hate him for it.

He sighed again though as he sat there until his ears picked up the sound of the door and his head turned to speak to her until he caught the alarm. She was not back for another body and her words confirmed it it as his hand itched suddenly. He looked past her with the force and let his mind stretch out as he only shook his head no before removing his boots and holding them out to her.

Kay took a look at his boot. Hmmm. "Be right back." She took only one of them and went back outside to the prints in the snow. She just had to be sure. Secretly she hoped that Solan was just sneaking out or maybe even sleepwalking. But in the back of her mind, she knew that wasn't the case. And upon comparing Solan's boot with the prints, it only confirmed her suspicion. They weren't his.

Kay glanced around now and opened herself up to the Force, trying to get a sense of where the stranger was. But she couldn't find anything. The person must not be that close by. Either that or it knew how to block detection.

She went back inside, coming out from the cold and handed Solan his boot back. "Well it seems we aren't alone. It could be another survivor or maybe someone living not far from here. I tried to see if I could sense them, but couldn't. So the sooner we get you back into top shape, the better."

Kay wanted to finish her work with the bodies, but she waited to see what Solan thought was the best plan of action.

He tapped his hand as she took his boot, why he had no idea but what ever it was she was rather quick about it as she came in not long after. He had gone back to work but with the same sickness in doing what he was doing. He sighed and welcomed her returning so quickly because honestly this was a bad idea being around the dead. Even touching them caused his empathy and slight experience with Psychometry which caused him to pull out their last moments and emotions and he had to actually shove the body away from him with the force as he was breathing heavily. Had she not come back so soon he probably would have simply stood and went back to the room but when she spoke his shoulders relaxed. Well, until he heard of another living thing. Why was it he could only sense her and his emotions though. The moment the person came in range he should have been able to sense a trace of emotion, something.

"We continue as planned, we need help and we need to get that Transmitter online after we bury these people like we should... i need to stop if ok with you, i can't stand being around them. Sorry." He sighed as he looked at the ground, he was useless. Blind, he couldn't sense the last one, he was sickened the moment he touched a corpse. It was so stupid. He used to be able to do all of this without trouble and now he was as useless as he could be.

Kay nodded. It wasn't easy to be around the dead, but she had to put it in the back if her mind as she did her task. Not everyone knew what they could or couldn't handle in a stressful situation such as this. "It's okay. Come on." She helped him to his feet and then guided him to his room. "It should only take me an hour or two. Then we could have lunch." Kay helped him to the bed and grinned, trying to lighten the mood as he's done so many times before. "Maybe you could make one of those amazing star class executive chef created protein bar lunches?" The Padawan gave his shoulders a quick hug, "They are my -favourite- after all."

Hopefully that helped. It gave him a bit of something to do as she cleared out the rest of the bodies. Then after lunch she'd treat his eyes again, regardless of whether or not he had wanted her to rest. She had to be more stubborn if they were going to work on getting out of here all the quicker. Solan had shown a bit of his darker side when he had told her what to do before while expecting an argument. If he went dark on her again, she knew how to handle it. One doesn't marry a Darksider without knowing how to deal with their....tempers. Solan wasn't much different.

Without a word Kay went back to work. If whomever it was had wanted to kill them right away, then they would've done so already. Oddly enough, it appeared as though the person was waiting for something. Or maybe someone?

He sighed and head her say it was okay before helping him up and back to the room. He continued to listen to her speak but in the end she said something that mde him laugh a bit under his breat before she gave his shoulders a quick hug. "Thank you for the words, and ill be sure to get those ready for you when you finish, should i get the tea warmed up too or is it time for some tea rehab?" He smiled as he said it, relaxing again and letting his shoulders relax while he started ti move and sit down. He wasn't always stubborn, just when he believed that there was something he could do.

To be honest though the way he was acting he didn't know if he could touch the bodies without having more flashes and if he did he didn't want it to show. He ran his hand through his hair again and when she was gone his feet pushed him up before moving him across the floor and to where his things were. He started going through them with a reason to find a single item in them. It would be a case, well two cases, but there was one case he wanted more than the other. It was large though, and he soon found it as he pulled it from its confines.

Moving back to the seat he unlatched its locks before opening it. Inside was the instrument he loved and gingerly he pulled it out of the case. What it was was a wooden violin of elegant make, something he carried with him everywhere except when a battle was involved. It calmed his mind and kept him from experiencing the flashes that he did. He would start to tune it while he sat there, focusing only on it.

Kay exited the room with a chuckle. Tea rehab. Never!! She was always sure to have a supply, knew where to find the Sapir tea leaves in various planets of the galaxy both in the markets as well as in the wild.

Soon after she resumed her work, going through pockets and taking out items that they could use, while leaving credits and valuables behind. She didn't want to be portrayed as a thief. With a little help from the Force, Kay moved the rest of the bodies outside into her makeshift grave. By the time she had covered them with snow, she was a bit worn out.

Yet it was time to do a bit of investigating. No rest for weary. She followed the footprints that didn't belong to the two of them and was curious to find that they led both two and from the ship. Also curious was that whomever made them was careful to retrace their steps so that it seemed as though there was just one set of prints. Kay furrowed her brow and looked off into the distance, shielding her eyes from the snow as the wind had started picking up again. They seemed to be heading towards the mountain range. Hmmm.

Kay turned and headed back to the ship, back to where it was warm. She'd tell Solan about it later, when he could see better and could do more about it. No need to worry him about it right now. Once inside she closed the door and braced it this time. Better safe than sorry.

She was caught by surprise as she saw Solan sitting there with a wooden instrument that he was tuning. Was he going to play? She hardly ever got a chance to listen to music. Kay quietly closed the door and then sat on the edge of the bed, cross-legged, not wanting to disturb him at his work.

His eye opened for a moment and he smiled as she sat there cross legged without a word. He smiled and spoke first instead. "You know, you don't have to stop talking simply because i got out this old thing. Trust me when i say im not even that great at it that there is any need to be respectful." His hand moved the bow across the strings once and listened as the sound of the violin filled the air around them. It wasn't anything too loud, just a soft check to make sure that the instrument was tuned before he would play anything.

His hands would then moved to create a quick change in the notes, testing each one and listening to it. He had always been calm when it came to playing this and he couldn't help but look at her for a moment with a smile. He wasn't truly sure what she would think of it but he began to play now as his eyes returned to the strings. What he played was no structured song, nothing that really he knew before hand and he simply went with what sounded right. IT was choppy granted but he was enjoying the sound of the Instrument and nothing more.

While he did though his mind remained detached and searching the area around them for anything new or different. If someone got close to the ship he should be able to tell, why he could not already was worrying to him. Very few times had he not been able to read the emotions of those around him, and he could not understand why this was one of those times.

It was beautiful. Sure the music wasn't much of a song other than notes played in different rhythms and scales, but it was music. Kay closed her eyes as she listened to the haunting instrument and just relaxed, probably looking a bit silly with a smile on her face as she just sat there.

When he was finished, she opened her eyes and applauded. "Thank you. It's been what feels like forever since I have heard any instrument being played. Strange, I know, but it's true. Where did you learn?"

As Solan would answer, she prepared the tea, getting the kettle and cups ready, along with the tea leaves. It didn't matter to her if she had it hot or cold right now as she was still hearing the violin playing in her head and it was soothing after a hard day's work.

He still smiled as the answer to her question was simple. "My mother taught me, she had thought it would be a good relaxant after training. To have something that was my own and could color a painting of pure emotion and thought. I started when i was young, what age i forget but it was the most enjoyable thing in my life. I would spend hours with my mother learning it, understanding how each note sounded. You tend to have alot of time on your hands when both your parents are Jedi who left the order to become recluse farmers on Dantooine." He set it in his lap and ran a hand over the neck of the instrument. "I still have her old one in the old home, in a glass case, locked away so no one could ever destroy it... Well, it is for now. I was thinking about passing it on to my daughter if she wanted to learn."

He sat there for a few more moments before his smile finally fell from his face and he looked up before it returned. "Ever play something like this yourself?" He smiled as he looked at the woman's direction, struggling to actually look -at- her though as he was a bit annoyed with having to use force sight to do so.

Kay listened as he spoke of his mother. She sounded more and more fantastic and she wondered what her parents were like. She never knew them, doesn't even know their names or what they looked like as she was brought to the Academy at an early age. She wondered what her life would've been like if she'd of had an upbringing like Solan's.

As he asked his question, she was brought back from her thoughts. "Me? Play music? Oh no. I've never even touched an instrument. That wasn't part of my instruction at the Academy."

It was almost time to eat again, and then time for what could be the last treatment for his eyes. Having him see again would lift a burden off of both of their shoulders.

"Come now, they must have taught you guys about something concerning music. Or was that deemed too much fun and enjoyment. Because if so im marching right into the Council chambers when we get off this rock and demanding an hour of music." He smiled at her as he said that, already knowing the answer but hell, it was good to stay light hearted in your conversations. Especially if you are stranded in the middle of no where with nothing to help you but the tattered remains of a ship and one other person. The Cruel hand of fate and what not... what was he thinking about. Right the Instrument.

Solan smiled as he thought for a moment longer before holding it out to her with a slow careful motion, as if it were delicate and fragile as... glass, or maybe fine china, point being he was very careful. His words coming next though would have been a rather surprising selection to be sure. "Why don't you try it then. And don't worry about not knowing what to do, it will keep you busy while i get those ration bars that we need."

She laughed a little as he spoke of marching in on the Council. Oh she would have -loved- to have seen the look on their faces as he gave his demands. It would've been priceless.

As Solan held out the instrument, Kay just looked at it for a moment. Her hesitation alone was almost enough to say 'you sure?'. But it was clear that he was. So she ever so carefully took the violin in hand, wishing that she had studied his fingers while he played instead of closing her eyes. Kay tried to hold it like he did, but then she couldn't quite see what she was doing from that angle. So instead she just held it on her lap and started plucking the strings a bit. At least the instrument was in tune, or else her plucking would sound really, really bad. It was just a mishmash of different notes, many of it sounding very odd in her ears and far from what Solan had been playing earlier, even though he wasn't playing much of a song either.

"Why do you play it under your chin? This way seems much easier."

[member="Lady Kay"]

Solan smiled as he watched her for a moment, heading over to the food and keeping his ear turned towards her. So it was a bit of a curiosity of his to see how she would do with the instrument and when her question was posed he thought for a moment before nodding. "I guess it would make more sense when plucking the instrument but when you have to use the bow to play it, you can't generate the same sound that you do with it on your shoulder. Here..." He grabbed the ration bars and the pot. Choosing to set up the pot first he breathed in and began to generate the heat in it while he pour in water.

Only once the pot was to the point it needed to be, and the bars lain on the ground would he move over beside her and motion for her to try and put it in the crook of her neck again. "What you want to do is almost lay your head sideways rather than put your chin in it. Not on your cheek mind you but more on the flat of your jaw." He motioned where, as he spoke. "You should be able to look down the neck of the instrument if you do it right." He turned his body to her and waited to see if she would get it.

Kay listened to his description, having stopped plucking the strings the moment that he started speaking. She brought the violin under her chin first before readjusting her head like he told her to do. It felt incredibly awkward. But still she wasn't going to say no to trying it. The fact that she was even holding an instrument was amazing in and of itself. She brought the bow up and lightly glided it across the strings, not pressing for any note in particular. The sound just echoed through the room and the vibrations gave her goosebumps. "Amazing...I don't know why they never let me try it before. I guess they thought it would interfere with my training."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"It all depends on how you train someone, i was taught that the force flowed, moved on its own and was a living being in its own right. That it was no better or greater than us and just simply... the same. The Violin showed me how the air vibrations, how the small change in the natural path and makeup of the air could be altered to create something beautiful and greater than any of the parts alone. Think of the Force like the vibrations, only a single part in what makes all of what we do greater. Just another living being like us." He smiled as his head turned to look up at the ceiling. "Well, the violin and the fact my sight can show me those flows."

Kay lowered the violin as he spoke about what he was taught about the Force. It made some sense. "I always thought that the Force was a guide that helped us, threw certain things into our paths to help us to learn further to become better people. I let it guide me to certain wounds and to help me repair the damage. And choosing either the Lightside or Darkside was determined by what we drew the Force from and what we were using it for."

She handed the instrument back to him and then picked up their supper and started to eat. "Speaking of healing, we should work on your eyes again. Thank you, by the way, for showing me how music is played and expressing your views. It's opened my eyes."

[member="Lady Kay"]

"Just don't close mine permanently and we can call it even." He smiled at her as she talked and he thought about her understanding of the force. "Ive heard the view, its a popular and very truthful one. Just like you talk about people ddifferently as others people understand the Force differently. Talk to it differently. Understand things in it does or they do with it's help oddly... Hell it can make someone who normally just hits on people sound like some wise old man... then again, partially blind anyways so, maybe i just need the accelerated Aging and im done." He smiled at her once more as his teeth cut through the bar.
