The Mandalorian Crusade | MC vs GR Invasion of Kashyyyk

Location of Aedan and first 5000 meters: In bound to Kashyyyk
Location of second 5000 meters: Entering system
Objectives: Secure the planet and surroundings
Allies: [member="Aditya Mantis"] [member="Rach Vizla"]
Enemies: [member="Reshmar"]

Ships in Force:
2x Centurion-class Battlecruisers (1200 each 2400 total) Wyvern and Dragoon
1x Shinigami-class Star Destroyer (1500) Reaper
1x Deliverance-class Heavy Carrier (850) Shadow
2x Dire-class Patrol ships (100 meters each 200 total) Hatchling and Yearling|
1x Redstar-class patrol ship (50 meters) Red 1

Aedan smirked as he leaned back to rest the rest of his force would arrive soon and to make it seem like Aedan himself was with the first force that arrived and to not give away any chance of surprise there was a prerecorded and very Aedan like message to be played by Captain Drake. The wookiee stood on the bridge and howled loudly as their force came out of hyperspace closer to the planet than anyone else would risk Aedan had given them some very precise directions and these paths had led them here in almost half the time it would take to normally get here. The wookiee saw the Mon Calamari fleet and howled loudly the translator issuing for the translated directions as his ships moved into a defensive position quickly the two Centurions Wyvern and Dragoon taking up position on either side of the Shinigami-class Reaper. The Dire-class and Redstar all moved forward slightly providing a good anti fighter screen as the Deliverance-class Shadow drifted back and launched its fighters. Two squadrons (24) Devastator-class Heavy Fighters, one squadron (12) Ragr-class superiority fighters, two squadrons (24) of Naast-class Missile boats, and one squadron (12) Cabur-class starfighters. From the Shinigami-class issued forth one squadron of To Vhin-class fighters moving backward swiftly and activating their electronic warfare devices and hiding themselves from sensors, two squadrons of Kandosii-class bombers drifted backward as well hiding themselves within the bubble created by the To Vhin-class, one squadron of Hecr-class fighters and two squadrons of Cabur-class starfighters moving to join the fighter screen. The two Centurion-class did not yet launch their complements holding them in reserve for now just in case things got worse. Finally Captain Drake broadcast sending out the message Aedan had recorded. "This is Aedan Miles to all Republic forces you are to turn back now and leave before shots are fired. If you do so you shall not be chased and I will personally do my best to make sure any surrendering forces on the planet below are safely returned to you." With that simple threat laying in the air the communications were cut and any farther attempt to contact Aedan would be denied for the time being.

The screams of the black smoke, the high pitched screech of blaster bolts and the dull thuds of explosions in the sand, the smell of ozone, blood, and salt. The turkey gobbles.

All these things filled Tusk's ears and nostrils as he charged through the mostly scorched sand. The battle before the first trench was a slaughter. Mandalorians and Republic soldiers fought in disorganized groupings, but this was where the Mandalorians thrived. The large Gerosian dove and rolled with a grunt, narrowly evading an artillery shell. Sand cascaded on all present. In the distance he could see the armored turkeys he had heard rumors about.

"What a waste..." he muttered, fantasizing about the Dantooine turkey burger he would love to be eating. Each one represented a succulent patty or feast for three. He licked his lips behind the T-shaped visor of his helmet before standing up and jumping into the trench. He landed next to a group of surprised Republic soldiers.

"Kark," the but of a rifle slammed into his head. Big mistake. He roared, and pushed them away with the Force sending sand flying all around them. He grabbed his rifle by the barrel and swung it like a hammer bringing down ranged weapon on his opponents like a hammer. The scene was too grotesque to describe with words and the other two soldiers, who witnessed this fled only to receive scorch marks on their backs.

Location: MC120 Independence-class Battlecruiser Dauntlass, Dropping out of hyperspace in Kashyyyk system

302nd Republic Heavy Flotilla - 10,120 meters

"Reversion in three minutes sir" said Captain Lorkin. The mon Calamari captain swam from the jump station to command with one lofty paddle of his webbed hands. Reshmar nodded to the man upon moving up to take the second command position on the command and control console. The battle group had dropped out of hyperspace an AU away from the system and changed course to gain optional insertion into the system. Again Reshmar had to pull rank on the Republic commodore but the man did as he was ordered and the group had been divided into two formations each with a much different role in the battle to come. The jump officer swam up and entered in the command to drop out of hyperspace. a moment later the star lines flashed out and the green world of Kashyyyk lay in front of the two formations.

The battle waging in space above the world raged as Republic and Mandalorian vessels and attack craft engaged each other for control of the space above Kashyyyk. the massive form of Dauntless lay still among the battle, coming out as close to the forest world as possible. Beside her sat the rest of Force Fortress, the two Republic class star destroyers poised and ready to engage the Mandalorian ships. To her aft, sat two escort cruisers which now moved into close defensive position with the massive command cruiser. Far to the formations aft starboard the ships of Force Longbow, consisting of three heavy cruisers and a single escort cruiser, moved into position for fire support mission. Reshmar looked out over the the battle then brought up a display of the system. Beside him captain Lorkin conversed with the commanders of each ship in the group ordering them to stand by for orders. Reshmar considered the current tactical situation and closed his eyes to calm himslef before he engaged. Reshmar took a deep breathe then exhaled slowly, letting his mind clear, and the task of command sink in.

" Captain, order all elements to launch attack craft. have all squadrons take up defensive positions and let the enemy come to them. I want a tactical solution on everything that moves out there captain. Ships, fighters, projectiles, Rock, I mean everything. I want a threat analysis on every tango and IFF tag on all friendly and enemy contacts. Lets make sure we flag any neutral of humanitarian contacts so we can avoid targeting them." said Reshmar as he looked over the first data coming in on the battle before him. The Mandalorians and Republic had been engaged in small scale skirmishes over the forest world but as of yet no major battle had broken out. The small defense force over the world had managed to stay in the fight and keep the first wave of the Mandalorian invasion force at bay. It however could not keep the Mandalorians from landing.

"Captain, link me in with Captain Forthma on Deliverance." said Reshmar as he looked over the three-dimensional depiction of the Kashyyyk system. contacts began appearing on the display as each was targeted, scanned, and identified. Around him were small corvette and attack craft engaged in combat here and there. Medical frigates and corvettes raced up from the world below ferrying wounded out of the battle zone. Civilian craft hurried to get out of the war zone, and commerce freighters attempted to avoid getting blown out of the sky above the besieged world.

"Make sure those medical ships are tagged neutral. Unless they fire on us we will let them go about their work. Have comms get with every civilian ship and organize their egress from the system. Let's try to get everyone out of the battle zone safe. Then begin targeting the enemy corvettes. Disable them if possible, we are not here to kill anyone." Said Reshmar as more and more contacts appeared on the display.

"Admiral, Captain Forthma is on channel twelve awaiting you sir." Said a communications tech.Reshmar opened the channel and sent it to his command display. The Mon Calamari woman looked calm but unlike Reshmar and his crew she had to deal with the dry recycled air of a vessel meant for any race to operate. Reshmar maneuvered himself and swam into a position which would present him as upright in the other Mon Cala's display.

"Captain, I am giving you command of Force Longbow. You need to keep anything off Force Fortress while we deal with these Mandalorian forces. Engage at long range distances only catain. No matter what happens here in orbit do not move in. Support me from there and follow standard rules of engagment. Keep yourself safe captain and if it comes down to protecting yourself or protecting me defend yourself captain. Dauntless if tough and can take anything these lot can dish out. My the force be with you." Reshmar said watching the Mon Cala woman nod in acceptance of her orders. He closed the channel and looked once again at the display of contacts layed out on the three dimensionsl tactical display.

"Captain ready the support wing, have them launch and await orders. We may have survivors out there needing pickup." said Reshmar as the last of the contacts popped up on the display. each now tagged with a friend or foe designation and target threat level.

"Solutions plotted sir, we are ready to engage." said Captain Lorkin. Reshmar nodded and entered in his code to send out the guns free order to the fleet. "Open Fire!" said Reshmar as the battle for Kashyyyk space commenced.

"OOOYA MANDOS!!"

She fist-pumped the air and punched Captain Studious (really need to give them name tags) in the shoulder. He stared at his shoulder, then at his boss. If Aditya had been looking at him, she would have seen the biggest eye-roll an Echani Captain could muster. Instead, the man contractually obligated to Captain a ship full of Mandos (couldn't he find something a little more culturally appropriate? Maybe, maybe not?) spouted orders among the cheering crew.

"Bring us about. Place us between [member="Aedan Miles"]' rear guard and the planet. Chime the rear guard, let them know we're available to pitch in on repairs and tactical maneuvers."

"Dude, whut?"

"... All systems check. Batten the hatches, as they used to say."

"Srslydidyoujustputusinthefighting?" Aditya sat straight up in her chair. Both feet touched the floor.

"Ready weapons. Helm, stay in a frigate's shadow." The Captain said, upon sensor bogeys confirming starfighters.

"Bh-wh-ch... Someone tell Jimmy Joe to get my daughter up here! She's gotta see Mommy's ship blast the bad guys!" Aditya grinned.

Location: Kachiro City to West Beach
Objective: Reinforce Thul and CSAF forces, Neutralize Shield Walkers, Destroy Transports
Allies: Republic and Friends
Enemies: [member="Ra Vizsla"], [member="Draco Vereen"] (Fixing tags in an edit, just wanted to get this out before there were dozen replies that required another revision.)

Perched high above on branch of one of the great Woshyr trees of Kachirho, the Jedi Marshal observed the progress of the Mandalorians through macrobinoculars. A holo-pen lay beside her, quietly projecting a livestream of Ra Vizsla in action. Occasionally, she gave it a glance when he came back on screen in a new development. The warrior had zero interest in the spin campaigns currently unfolding on both sides of the conflict, but the feed offered her some valuable snippets of intelligence, and insight on the new leader of the (mostly) united Mandalorians.

She found that she liked him, in a funny way that one soldier could admire another across the line. Hearing him speak, she started to comprehend why the once disjointed Mandalorians now followed him in crusading. Such a charismatic figure was dangerous, for
the Mandalorians could become the most formidable force in the galaxy when they stood as one. The first Mandalorian War was proof of that. She understood that fact as one of Vizsla’s drivers, while others within the Republic struggled to grasp his motivations. The Mandalorians attack with flimsy moralizing because they could, simple as that. People were capable of a great many terrible deeds where there was no fear of repercussion.

She wasn’t sure what to make of the latest development of killer avians smashing into Republic lines*, but the feed gave her the sign that it was finally time to act. It pained her to leave her allies on the
frontlines struggling with the onslaught of shock troopers, and now suicide bombers, but the Mandalorians had to be lulled into thinking it was business as usual in facing the Republic, committing their forces for a cake walk.

She put away her
macrobinoculars and tablet, then donned her helmet to connect with the rest of her unit over Biocomm.

“We’ve kept Lady Thul and the Chief waiting long enough! It’s time to show the Mandalorians the true strength of the Republic! One fight!”

Her words were met with of cacophony of Yinchorri
roars and mechanical shrieks, over comm and vocalizer so that enemy and ally could hear their war cries. It came from within the treeline at the back of Kachirho, a deafening chorus that momentarily overtook the battlefield.

The Padawan cleared the foliage to step out into plain view on the branch, brandishing a gun metal lightsaber hilt.

She spoke again, but this time over an open channel by normal comlink:

“I am Arisa Yune, Jedi Marshal of the Light Brigade. As Revan challenged Te Ani'la Mand'alor, and Darth Maul to Pre Vizsla, I challenge Ra Vizsla for the title of Mand’alor. Whether or not he accepts my challenge, I’ll be coming for him all the same.”

With a click, her saber came alive, a blade of silver light shooting out from the hilt. Once, the Sith weapon had shown with crimson light when she had claimed it from her first kill at Coruscant many years ago.

Predictably, an element of Basilisk jockeys broke off from their original
tasking to attack, drawn to the light of her saber like moths to the flame. If there was one thing she knew about Mandalorians, it was their ravenous appetite for Jedihttp://starwarsrp.net/blog/107/entry-1881-transmission-to-all-jedi-the-ilum-enclave-massacre/. Their envy of the Jedi was almost as legendary as their armor.

A few steps to the side, and she cleared the side branch to fall. She flipped on her repulsors after a few meters to ascend in controlled flight.

The jockeys gave chase as she weaved
between the trees, the lead firing off shots from their laser cannons. With the same sort of pre-cognitive talents typically (and wastefully) employed by Jedi for bladework, she spiraled through the air in tight rolls to evade the fire. She sensed the jockey’s rising frustration as they kept missing shots. The Jedi was just too small and agile in her power armor, just like a missile. She turned on her back, giving him a wave with her saber hand to goad him into taking rash action.

That set him off, as he gunned his boosters to close in for use of his shockwave generators. She chucked a
gas grenade behind her into his trajectory while juking right, manually triggering the detonation of the grenade by telekinesis so that he’d pass right through the cloud of plank gas.

The lead jockey was sent careening through the air as he lost all control, screaming and flailing in agony as the powerful corrosive ate through his
bodyglove and flesh. Moments later, the backside of the dying Mandalorian would be shredded apart by molten shrapnel as the boosters exploded from the intakes sucking in the gas, killing him instantly. The basilisk's systems as a whole were beginning to fail as the plank gas compromised vulnerable areas of its chassis, sending it into a nose dive.

The wingman followed their lead down in a vain attempt at coverage while taking wild shots at Arisa with a ripper to cover their descent. She was not deterred, circling around to her rear in hot pursuit. She yanked the second jockey right off her mount with the Force, leaving the woman to tumble through the air like a rag doll. She accelerated,
cleaving her saber through their neck as she passed by.

With no rider for direction, it turned back for her as it’s last designated target. She tossed another gas grenade in its path like with the first Basilisk, repeating the tactic to send it crashing to the ground with its headless master.

Two down...and the rest of the Mandalorian army to go. She felt the attention of dozens of eyes upon her as she
egressed from the city. Beyond the void of the Ysalamiri lounge, she felt the presence of several powerful force users within their ranks, all converging upon the city. The Republic had their work cut out for them.

Fortunately, for just about every hostile presence she felt in the Force, there were several friendly ones at her back and side. The treeline bristled with movement as her forces poured outward from their
tarped shelters.

A mixed group of starfighters and gunships launched into the air.
A-wings activated their phantom jammers to mask their electromagnetic signature and scramble enemy sensors. They climbed high into air to establish top cover for the other aircraft tasked for ground support and conducting interdiction against spaceborne reinforcements, working in tandem with CSAF fighters.

Cyclone bombers
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/83569-cyclone-class-bomber/ and A-10s pressed forward to deliver their payload overhead the Mandalorian beachhead and water. The bombers led the charge, tanking through enemy fire just as they were designed to do. TIE fighter boats followed, beginning to orbit the lake as they awaited delivery.

Droid interceptors
http://starwarsrp.net/topic/64015-drone-class-droid-interceptor/ tangoed directly with Basalisk jockeys between the trees and mountains with their CSAF allies. While they lacked the shielding and durability of their Mandalorian counterparts, they made up for it with speed and agility that allowed them to literally fly circles around the manned wardroids. With the power of Hydrahttp://starwarsrp.net/topic/83058-hydra-mesh-networking-program/, they could pool telemetry to cycle effortlessly between individual Basalisk in packs from moment to moment while the Basalisk themselves required the comparatively glacial, inefficient inputs from their organic jockeys for guidance. The interceptors focused on dismounting the riders as the weakest point of the team, then went to town as the dumb machines were left alone to their own devices.

The final component of the Kiribian air assets consisted of Yinchorri Dragoonshttp://starwarsrp.net/topic/82789-yinchori-dragoons/, squad of cavalry swarming towards the beachhead. They targeted the area just ahead of the first trench line with glop grenadeshttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/G-20_Glop_grenade to put an end to the rush of suicide runners, and isolate the lead attackers from main body. Some Dragoons fired directly into the Mandalorian shock troopers on the ground, or intercepted them in the air when they rose to meet the Yinchorri or rocket past them. Their powerful Famos battle rifles easily broke their shields and pierced their armor with devastating neutral particle bolts and 20 mm vibro flechetteshttp://starwarsrp.net/topic/83209-vibro-flechette/?hl=vibro-flechette fired from integrated mass drivers. Pockets of Mandalorian infantry who had broken past the trenches were targeted in a similar fashion.

Harvestorshttp://starwarsrp.net/topic/63739-archangel-harvester-droid/ looped behind the attackers, spinning in a deadly twister of flailing arms and blaster fire to slash, gore, and shoot Mandalorians on their unguarded backend. Some would snatch up one or two Mandalorians at a time, snapping their necks with coils of long metal tendrils.

“Attention to all advance forces on the first trench line,” Arisa called to her allies over encrypted comms. “Please continue retreating to the second line. Friendly air and artillery operations are about to commence. I will cover your retreat. You have two minutes.”

On the ground, an armor column of juggernautshttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/HAVw_A6_Juggernaut/Legends, TR-SDs, and defoliatorhttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Defoliator_Deployment_Tank tankshttp://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Defoliator_Deployment_Tank moved down along the shore of the river that cut through Kachiro, their advance directly covered by AT-AA and BAAWS http://starwarsrp.net/topic/4391-baaws-brightstar-class-anti-air-weapons-system/that moved with them. Basilisk that dared come close to the armored column would find themselves in the pull of the BAAWS’ tractor beam, halting or restricting their movement to make them easy targets for quad laser cannons and flak guns. The ECM suite of the Anti-Aircraft walkers was employed along with the A-Wings phantom jammers as another layer of electronic protection, thwarting shatter missiles.

Fighter tanks
http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/TX-130_Saber-class_fighter_tank and artillery speeders raced ahead of the column of heavy armor, aiming to flank the the Mandalorian bodies that had made it to shore. A few BAAWs moved with this striker group. As the vehicles advanced, they fired into the Mandalorians and their vehicles outside the shield with a collection of missiles, grenades, and energy weapons.

Along with the CSAF, the forces of the Kiribian Systems Union had met the Mandalorians in a coordinated combined arms assault to initiate the next stage of the battle.

"Incoming!" Evasive maneuvers!" the other soldier of the Squad screamed in the comms.

"Roger"

[member="Varien Moxla"] threw a Force-aides grenade towards Myles. Amid tthe cloud of smoke, Jessica's helmet turned to thermal, she realized that one more space wizard entered the fray, and she switched weapons at the same time as she got out of the trench in an attempt to fend off the space wizard, because she knew the grenade was aimed at the trench. But she was, well, forked. Between the grenade and the space wizard, she fired the SI-74 directly at the space wizard's lightsaber, in hopes that the lightsaber will take the hit. Even so, she still have 11 shots left in the LSAT180 and, as she reverts back to the bowcaster for firing at Mandos' joints, a little slowly because she lacks the flexibility, she ducks for cover after the grenade detonated behind her. But that left her vulnerable to the Basilisk war droids, on the one hand, and to the armored turkeys whose ammunition contained explosives. But lying low, as for a crawl, presented a few advantages: she could improve her aim, she could switch weapons faster - it just wasn't practical for grenade throwing.

"Take that, Mandalorian turkeys!" she said over comms as she shot in the direction of the herd of turkeys.

"Turkeys?"

"The first line of turkeys appear to be improvised explosive devices: I saw some of them explode in the first line of trenches, wait... I see armored turkey-mounted mortars in tow!"

[member="Tusk"] heard some of the turkeys gobble in pain as Jessica hit the joints of these turkeys' armor with a bowcaster. Perhaps some of the turkeys would be still alive after taking a hit in the joints. Perhaps a hit would prematurely cause the turkey to explode. But for now the visions of horror in thermal mode showed several turkeys exploding all around her near the first two lines of trenches. But she couldn't hit all the turkeys without discharging a entire bowcaster's worth of ammunition and then some. There were just too many turkeys to go around, even with some of them exploding against the trenches. Too many Mandos to go around, too little time to ponder which Mando to hit - she had to hit as many Mandos as she could. Turkeys, infantry, you name it. Until one of the armored mortar mounts is about to ram Jessica on her right before she can change her field of vision to aim at the turkey ramming her in an attempt to run her over.

"Ma'am... there's a mortar turkey right on your right!"

"Aaaahhh..." Jessica screamed as one of the armored turkeys rammed her on the side, forcing her to aim for the joints of that turkey.

The turkey realized that ramming some object 137 kg in weight (her 100-kg self, 12 kg for the armor, 15 kg for the SI-74, 4 kg in ammunition, 6 kg for the bowcaster) will result in a nearly perfectly inelastic collision a few moments too late, and the turkey must now push itself covered in armor as well as Jessica with her entire arsenal still on her, now rolling on the sand. But in ramming Jessica, the turkey ground to a halt because it lacked the strength to push her further.

Briika bit her lip to keep a giggle in as she witnessed [member="3X744"] make a glorious dismount off his big red beast he affectionately called Clifford. For a moment there the battle medic wondered if the young Fett clone was okay as the boy was sprawled face down in the muddied earth, probably knocking the wind out of him, but the kid bounced right back up and finished his landing with the style and grace of an Olympic gymnast still hungry for a medal.

[ Oya! ] yelled Three as he hurried to catch up.

[ Kandossi, ad'ika… I like your attitude. Always try to make a negative into a positive. You will be happier overall, and stay alive more likely. ] Bree complimented the Munin Clan cadet with an affectionate pat to his small shoulder plate, then the golden blonde moved forward ever vigilant keeping a watchful eye out for trouble.

As the Mandalorian Vanguard and Crusaders marched on through the forest towards the outer city of Kachiro, the private, encrypted comlink between the Tor and [member="Vilaz Munin"] came to life. [ Just be careful where you walk, cyar'ika. We don't know what the Republic and the Wookiees could've done to the earth. ] the Cuir Rekr cautioned his beloved from his perch atop the blood red basilisk war droid the Akaan rode into battle.

[ I will be careful. You too, Vil'ika. ] the silver-armored baar'ur replied with the same loving yet concerned tone towards her cyare.

Soon after Vilaz dropped down to walk with Briika and Three beside the war droids, the Republic finally showed them a bit of opposition. Republic troopers and Pro-Republic Wookiees came at them in an ambush style from the trees, but the Mandos easily countered. The battle medic was an excellent shot and used that to her advantage taking out several from afar before the soldiers got too close.

When an eight foot tall angry walking carpet charged wildly out from behind a nearby tree with a nasty-loking weapon raised, the petite Mando'ad quickly side-stepped it's targeting action, ducked, then aimed and fired her Ripper with strategic hits to stop it dead cold.

Now with that taken care of, it was time for Briika to aid her fellow vode that had been wounded; soldier first, medic second.

The ripple of explosions in the embassy made her look round, grinning beneath the t-visor. Now the fun would begin. Something flicked into life on her HUD and she swing the barrel of her sniper round towards it.

"Contact!" She called to the team as a wookie group bounded towards them, some falling from the trees above. Ava rose to her feet, exhaling she fired halfway through, the slug ripped through fur, flesh and bone, snapping the head back of her first target as he was shunted backwards into his comrades, dead before he hit the ground.

She scrambled backwards, letting the others fall forward to cover her as she switched weapons. She caught the glow of a lightsaber in her peripherals, yanking a force breaker grenade from her belt she launched it towards the Jedi, before pulling her Vornskr scattergun free of its harness.

As the fighting continued to swell within the forests outside of Kochirho city, the dispersed Mandalorian invaders found themselves facing increasingly desperate odds. Every capable Wookiee soldier from within the city had been mobilized in the early stages of the Mandalorian invasion, and their war cries filled the dark forests, reverberating between the thick-trunked wroshyr trees, turning hundreds of voices into thousands. The Republic soldiers positioned throughout the region suffered the heaviest of casualties as they lacked the natural skill and capability of the Wookiees to navigate the environment and the expertise and equipment boasted by CSAF's Commandos. Entire teams of Republic troops were killed as explosions burned away the supportive boughs on which they stood, falling to their deaths in the darkness of Kashyyyk's Shadowlands below. The Basilisks, however, caused the greatest casualties as their magnificent laser cannons tore through the myriad jungle layers and cut swaths across lines of Republic soldiers firing down upon them from platforms built into the trees. One team was wiped out as the rampant Basilisk towing an increasingly mangled [member=Zef Halo] behind it caused great swaths of damage through the battlespace. A Republic shock trooper was injured while preparing to fire a rocket. The resulting misfire sent an anti-tank round exploding into the wroshyr wood beside them. The explosion that followed through the remaining troops into the air and detonated a stack of spare munitions that irreparably damaged the tree itself, and several nearby civilian huts began to burn. With a great CRACK!, the ancient wroshyr's trunk split, and it's top end began to tilt and slide before collapsing into the arms of the surrounding forest, casting Republic soldiers and Mandalorians alike from the safety of their positions. A second wroshyr tree fell with an explosive crash that reverberated through the forest for kilometers around as the rogue Basilisk showed no signs of slowing down; a stream of missiles left its pods and blanketed the area in bright flashing fire for several long moments before darkness returned to the forest. To the astonishment of anyone who managed to catch the sight, one of CSAF's own Captains, a female Wookiee Commando named Hraffa, lunged violently from the boughs of a wroshyr tree and caught hold of the tether connecting the mechanical beast to its rider as they streamed passed, Halo flailing angrily as he endeavored to mount his...well, mount.
The hitchhiking Wookiee operative grunted as she gripped the rope tightly in one bare hand, then reached down with her other and severed the line connecting the ever-unfortunate [member=Zef Halo] to the Basilisk in a single smooth stroke of her own traditional ryyk blade. The line snapped and the cursing Mandalorian would now be free to take the reigns of his own destiny with what was left of the rope. The Wookiee growled deeply, her eyes narrowed in grim determination, and sheathed the ryyk blade before hoisting herself onto the Basilisk's spine with powerful arms. The seating space was small, built for tiny Humans, and therefore cramped her knees, but otherwise boasted enough room for her to sit comfortably. The wind whipped through her fur, and the beast's rampage found twigs and leaves and bugs trapped in her locks, but Hraffa managed to maintain an easy grip on the Mando'ade war mount. As she began manipulating the available controls with her bared hands, Hraffa endeavored to subdue the beast by the only means she knew: She roared at it.
Her tone was neither necessarily pleasant, nor kind, but firm, and amicable. Her bellowing grow threatening at moments when the mechanical mount attempted to buck her off or ram her into a wroshyr tree, but Hraffa was not about to be defeated by a lesser beast of war than she. With bared teeth and slavering jaws, the grey-brown Wookiee roared in the most empowered way of her people, subduing the Basilisk with a series of chants and declarations of her own supremacy over it. As this ne'er-understood battle raged between the racing mount and its would be conquerer, the semi-intelligent machine began to slow its racing pace before breaking through the canopy and into the night sky. With the star-speckled background illuminating the fierce curves and threatening angles of the monstrosities form, Hraffa could not help but feel a sense of admiration for the machine's design. It handled poorly at speed, but it had ceased resisting her command. For a time, Hraffa allowed the great beast to rest in the air, drifting over the treetops as she herself looked to the battle at the beaches some kilometers away. Explosions rocked the horizon, and great expanses of light of indeterminate origin ignited the twilight sky. Hraffa growled to herself disdainfully, and the Basilisk sensed the pain she felt for her homeworld. Wookiees were one of the few warrior cultures in the Galaxy that preferred peacetime to conflict, and to see her world burn for no other reason than that the Mandalorian Clans wanted it to built such a rage within her heart that she let out a most fearsome war cry that echoed across the forest canopy and was heard even as far as the city itself.
Before Hraffa could complete her beastly proclamation, however, the Basilisk war droid turned itself abruptly onto its side. Tossed from the saddle, Hraffa's thundering bellow was cut to a sharp yelp. She bared her teeth in a flash of anger, assuming the machine had attempted to throw her, yet the missile that shot passed and into the sky told her otherwise. The Wookiee Commando clambered back onto her mount's backside and watched the anti-aircraft missile shift course, looping back around for another shot at killing them.
The great beast waited for several long moments as the missile came nearer and nearer, then Hraffa bared her teeth at the munition and roared a command that was immediately understood by the Basilisk. They dipped suddenly and disappeared into the forest once more in an explosion of timber and foliage. The war droid dodged large sweeping boughs as the missile nipped at their heels like an starving kath hound, it's propellant already running out. The missile sputtered and began to slow as Hraffa and the Basilisk cut closer and closer to the Shadowlands. As Hraffa shot passed the [member=Vilaz Munin] and [member=Briika Tor] the missile finally ran out of fuel and detonated by proximity, casting forth a concussive wave that was trailed by a bath of fire.
Out of the smoke and flame, Hraffa and the Basilisk (both smokey though parts of Hraffa's coat were actually on fire) cut through to the open air once more, both great beasts of war reveling in their shared strength and collaborative might.

Despite the setbacks Guri's Republican allies were facing, the holes made by the Mandalorians' Basilisks were being filled with raucous ranks of fearsome Wookiee warriors. Sling-weapons launched thermal detonators at the Mandalorian war droids from what seemed like all directions, the explosions rocking the canopy to and fro as the grenades emulsified lesser armor, though the true threat to the Basilisks would come from those charges that detonated at close range. The battle seemed to come to a standstill, though more and more shaggy-haired Wookiees were encroaching on the besieged Mandalorians from all around, denying them even the easy escape to the sky.
CSAF's Commandos, who had suffered the least of the battle's damages, continued firing down at those Mando'ade they had clear shots at, their silent Verpine Assault Rifles clicking away softly as their high velocity rounds tore through the air toward their foes. Rifle grenades were employed against the soaring Basilisks, their accuracy augmented by the collective targeting abilities of their SHARBO helmet systems. For the time being, the Mandalorian advance had been halted, and the next several minutes of the battle would determine which side capitulated first.

It was this knowledge that spurred Colonel Guri Pasha to take immediate action on the objective. Via secure comms, she signaled her Commandos to ready themselves for the advance in order to fill the gaps left by their wasted Republic support elements. The Commandos, clad in armor and equipment that exceeded the capabilities of the typical Mandalorian soldier, brought their full might to bear on their Mando'ade victims. Rifle grenades focused fire at slower moving targets, the attention on the weak spots of Basilisk armor intended more to damage and hinder than destroy. Ion grenades tumbled through the air in pursuit of the goal of hampering the Mando'ade's electronic systems, and Verpine rifles continued to flood the area in support. CSAF elements began moving fluidly through the forest canopy, following the movements of their prey as they slogged through the ranks of the Wookiee's fighting forces, slaying one grizzled defender after another. The Commandos proceeded expertly from one covered position to the next, minimizing their exposure to Basilisk fire while continuing to employ munitions as accurately as the terrain would allow. CSAF had served its purpose as a support element, and was now transitioning fluidly into the role of the assault element, edging closer to the Mandalorian fighters from more directions than could be readily defended.
As Guri completed a brief overview of the current tactical situation, she spotted a young woman in the distance through the foliage ahead. [member=Mira Rekali] was stalking atop the boughs and through the leaves of the great wroshyr trees with an expert's grace, undoubtedly guided by the wisdom of the Force that seemed to surround the girl. The Rodian's black, bulbous eyes narrowed as she evaluated this new foe, intrigued by the ferocity that burned in the lithe girl's garnet-colored eyes. Guri stood straight and tall, the small retinue of Commandos gathered around her focused on maintaining security of the wooden platform upon which they were positioned. Guri knew she had already been spotted by the young woman, who had devastatingly wrestled two Republic soldiers to their deaths. She was next, and she welcomed the challenged joyfully.

Guri Pasha hailed from the An'yettu Islands of her homeworld of Rodia. She had been educated in her planet's capital of Iskaayuma, sharpening an already keen mind. She would later come into a lifetime of conflict as she was adopted into the ranks of the Okuru clan of Mando'ade warriors as an adolescent, developing as a skilled leader and a cunning warrior. Now, on Kashyyyk, she was asked to pit her body and soul against others of her own people, and it was a call she was more than glad to answer.
The tree boughs between her and her supple young prey laced back and forth, over and under one another. Pockets of wooden platforms crafted by Wookiee engineers were dispersed here and there to provide an adequate support for non-native travelers. As she began striding forcefully across these boughs and platforms, moving with a discernible purpose, Guri lifted a gauntleted hand and pointed at the young woman. The silent declaration was expressed clearly on the Rodian woman's face as her black eyes narrowed fiercely, her thin snout curled gleefully, and the spines lining her skull stiffened and grew hot. The antennae atop her head twitched and angled themselves outward to better inform her peripherals and avoid sinking into tunnel vision. Every visible fibre of the Colonel's being bellowed a silent, inalienable declaration: That one belongs to me.

As Buruk is just about to enter arms length, Arlos steps to the right slightly so that Buruk is now running of course. As he steps, Arlos turns his body 90 degrees to the left, causing Buruk to miss if he didn't redirect his attack. As he sees Buruk's first attack, he moved his left hand upwards whilst quickly twisting his wrist outwards, so that Buruk's punch is deflected aside. Whilst he is moving his wrist, Arlos would attempt to slash across the top of his neck, starting from the jugular and finishing at the left artery.

His comms still switched on, he yells into them. "Evac! Now!"

Looking up, he sees the god damn venom creature. "What the hell." He thinks.

Battle was erupting around them, and Draco was hastily using time behind the shield wall to direct traffic. “I need a Rekali or two to lead an attack on those mortar teams with Funky!” Draco called on the comms hoping [member="Funky Balor"] and [member="Mira Rekali"] or even [member="Rekali the Hutt"] would be enough to deal with [member="Jessica Med-Beq"] and [member="Myles Savar"] or at least keep them occupied. Trying to direct battle was fairly difficult even if he wasn’t directly on the front. Turkeys were exploding and attacking the enemy from the front, surging up the beachhead. “And keep out of the way of those Turkeys.” Republic armor was engaging the front line Myrkava Battle Tanks now, and Republic Air Support had finally arrived to combat the Mandalorian air cavalry. "Could some MC air support help out with the Republic forces."

Alor, Thul still needs to be dealt with.” Draco nodded and slipped into the shieldwall in the trench with his Einherjar. Draco and his men took the charge, using the shieldwall of reflective shields to defend against the hail of blasterfire from the House Thul forces charging them while returning fire with missiles and wrist beamers used to cause paralysis in enemies’ limbs. Since the beamers ignored conventional shields and armor, they were a favorite of Clan Vereen. Grenades went from both sides as the Mandalorians continued their advance through the trenches, which in turn protected them from tank shells.

Blaster bolts peppered Draco’s light shield and shoulder, stinging his skin and burning him just above the armpit, rebounding in the general direction they came from as he turned using a body impaled on his spear to cover himself from the incoming fire a little better. A big power-armored walking tank was doing the fighting. The big Mandalorian reached out and began drawing that energy into himself and unleashing at the approaching power armored soldiers in the form of lighting. Much of the lightning stopped out from the soldier, but the spread on the outskirts caught some.

Ducking behind the cover of his light shield, Draco snapped off a few full power Paddle Beamer bolts at the big warriors knees, hoping to immobilize the tank. “Caspian, go for the throat. Kima, you wanna go berserk for me?” Draco asked, rather relaxed.

From the forests north of the city and earsplitting roar echoed from the massive trees. Birds and animals scattered from the tree line rushing away from the source of the roar. Tree limbs cracked and snapped as something moved through the forest and into the light of the sun in the clearing at the edges of the city. The beast let out a bestial growl unlike any other on the planet.

GRAK! GRAK! GRAK!” The chant rose from the Mandalorian forces, calling on their very large cousin, chanting his name as he came forth. Grakhttp://i.imgur.com/QMv5QqX.jpg, the Mandalorian Gorax stepped forward, swiping a massive Mandalorian steel mace at the closest beings around him. He wore heavily modified Ori’edee Beskar’kandar, made to fit his thirty meter tall frame. It covered his back and torso well, as well as the front of his neck with thick heavy beskar plates, his forearms, hands, shins, and feet similarly armored. A mask with a T-visor covered his face, but not his full head. From the platform on his back, four integrated droids worked the shield, keeping the powerful deflector shield scaled down in size so that to be in the shield, put you in the danger-zone.

Grak growled and stomped forward, not caring who or what was beneath him. To the Gorax there was only him, Sklor on his shoulder, and prey squealing and screaming below him. A Basilisk War Droid drifted too close and was snatched by the beast, crushing it in his armored hand before launching armor columns before him.

The chanting didn’t stop, “GRAK! GRAK! GRAK!” The Mandalorians were seemingly unphased by the betrayal of the Gorax, but those of Clan Vereen knew to keep their distance, and the others would soon learn. Sklorhttp://www.kurisuto.com/uploads/2/6/2/5/26250793/char_glott.jpg, the shaman on the beast’s shoulder was shouting and pointing, directing the Gorax’s attention as best as he could, but no one was perfect. The Shaman wore his beskar’gam and shield protecting him, spinning his blastercannon around, lacing the nearby enemies with heavy blaster fire while Grak swept his mace back and forth, punted, or stomped anything beneath him. Even tanks and walkers were not safe, the Gorax being taller and heavier than most, capable of using his large heavy Euk'gar mace to turn them to rubble.

The Gorax began making his way to the vehicles rolling into the clearing.

She heard the message form a republic command [member="Arisa Yune"], retreat from the first trench. She sent message I have already done so, may have fall back from the second line yet. Get me reinforcements ASAP! She then looked out on the battlefield something was wrong, her flanks where being attack, the line had not folded yet, but crack where beginning to show. She also need help to get artillery back online, it came down to fact she did not have the manpower, not to face the horde itself. She had to act, to atleast stall the inevitable. She gave the order, All infantry companies pull back to third tier of trenches. Captain August and your Housecarls do your duty, and may the force be with you, help get my boys out of their. She sent message to the rest republic, pulling out from the second line of trenches, please send more to the flanks, get me some armoured support.

Trench 1
This was abandoned, though it provide no cover to mandalorains. Though it still had few uses as obstacles, for the enemy to try and get over, sandbags in the way and then into a ditch. Dead bodies from both sides lay here, when tides comes in would it wash them away, only tides knows that.

Trench 2
Elaine had given the order to retreat from this line, even so not all the men where leaving it. Some of her troops, would not be able to make walk due to there injuries, every able bodied soldier was ordered back, to next line of trenches. This left the dead, the dying and the wound, and the housecarls. Her personal bodyguards would have to fight on, getting out this quagmire would just make them sink. They would fight on to the bitter end, but the names would live for ever. They became a vanguard for her troops hopefully with republic reinforcements, they could rally and retake the beach. Her men had given it there all, it was not down to strength of will or determination that they had failed to hold this line, but just due sheer numbers. Also without the initial support she needed, her rear has been attacked as well, she could let her men get surrounded she owed them that much. The brave pioneers, where still doing there best, to keep everyone resupplied. This was not a route, but an orderly falling back, how far back only time would tell.

Trench 3
As she gave the order to retreat from the second line of trenches, her command area was buzzed by [member="Funky Balor"] and his forces. She looked at them in disdain, and then used the force to crush his throat and shut up his singing. Her men where dashing back here, he may just came the wrong time, her army was about to be here. All of them but housecarls, he also had to deal with the Grenade Launcher trying pelt them on all in plasma. Sniping fire from her scouts that where already here, how long could his men stand against that, only time would tell.

Artillery Position
Her troops where having issues here as they need to get back on with firing at the mandalorians, the war droids where giving barrage fire on them, this was being answered with reaper fire. The flack missiles where having impact on the guns, most reapers where now useless. As well as the odd emp round getting fired at them, the odds where stacked against them, but support was incoming from fighters that finally been dispatched. Soon he would not just have to fight her ground troops, he would be fighting kribbian fighters. Time might be on her side, with any luck.

War Turkeys gobble-gobble-gobbled in the distant beaches and what Republic forces there were to be battled with had vastly been surrounded and outnumbered. The Twilight Raid had little resistance, so far....

The movement of [member="Mia Monroe"]'s vornskyr pack made Ginnie smile beneath her buy'ce. Mia had always been Ginnie's favourite ba'vodu. The fact Ginnie could hear at all was due the hearing aides [member="Mia Monroe"] made, when Daddy [member="Ordo"] brought her home to Mandalore for the first time. Ginnie felt a tug on her blood trails, Ba'vodu Mia was moving and the thought that she had Ginnie and Arla's flank (however remotely) made the pyromantic teenager feel invincible.

"I'm so gonna beat you to it." Ginnie joked to her vod Arla. The tilt of her buy'ce was token 'Ginnie Having Fun'. The girl vibrated and hopped, pushing through the lines with the ease of a child raised in war. Which this child was. Wembley raced forward, great claws crashing into the Wroshyr tree and propelling him up its' mighty trunk with ease. A Wookie broke out of the brush, firing bolts at the two Ordo girls and growling to the high heavens. Ginnie pulled her lightsaber from its' thigh clip and ignited the barab ingot inside. Less stable than other crystals due to the radiation levels of Barab I, Barab Ingots tended to burn in clear fire with spurts and fissures licking on the ends.

The teenager rushed the Wookie, lightsaber raised. She jumped. The Wookie charged. Yoash flicked in a downward diagonal, Ginnie twisted her wrist. Yoash swung through the Wookie's torso. The hairy warrior fell in pieces. Yoash's saber beam flickered out of life.

In the distance toward the Embassy, Ginnie felt the lull of [member="Andy Rodarch"] & [member="Aryn Spar"]'s explosive fire. Fire.

The Wroshyr Trees to the East burned. The beaches burned.

The planet was alive in conflagration. Ginnie felt the pulse of the fire draw her out.

In her youth, the child had been mutilated in the firestorm calamity of her seventh birthday. They hadn't meant to set the grenade off in the ammo vault. They hadn't meant to lose Ginnie and her mother in the vault. They hadn't meant to close the door. The concussive force ripped Ginnie's eardrums, breaking her world into an ever present tinnitus which became her only sound. A child ruined, she was denied by her Buir, starved and forgotten. All Ginnie could see was the fire which tore at her face and neck, the burns which marred her. As a child, her mind never left the ammo vault where the accident had deafened her and killed her mother. She spent years consumed by it, that ever present fear. She'd survived the flames to be cast out as soot in the hearth.

Her Force Powers manifested in childish nightmares, in the insecurities of a child who could never return home. [member="Ordo"] found her on Serenno. He found her value, he picked her up and showed that she was not the only Mando'ad with scars. Ginnie Verd the Abandoned Firestarter became Ginnie Ordo the Beloved Goran'ika. Her brother-in-law [member="Arrbi Betna"] took her hunting, her sister [member="Arla Balor"] was always there to dote on her vod'ika. Daddy [member="Ordo"] taught her a better way to the Forge and Force. Still, the fears ravaged her. Sith took her, tried to train her, to mould her.

Then, a possessed Ordo killed the Mand'alor. Ginnie became unbearable in anger. Her spirit burned. She torched a Sith prison ship to rescue [member="Preliat Mantis"], burning the prisoners and Sith inside. She lit Vorzyd on fire, controlling conflagrations against the Vong. She built a Forge to create that which could salvage her Clan Ordo from being hurt again. Fire had become the Destroyer, the exponential abyss from which Ginnie could pour out her fear. Her heart fought with her inner flame. Sith Alchemy had its' way of taking pounds of flesh from those who wished to forge it. The whispers in her nightmares became those of her brother [member="Isley Verd"]'s heartbeat.

Dar'jetti..... .... ... . . . . .. . .. .

Dar'manda....... ... . . . . . . .

.

.

No. Not my ad'ika.

Ordo refused to release his ad'ika to the horror. He bundled her in loving arms and with her mother [member="Rianna Ar'klim-Organa"]'s Jedi Mastery and inner light, they pulled the poisonous fear from their daughter. Ginnie rested in the sunlight bereft of her Iron Skin, bereft of her Forge on Ziost, bereft of contact with the outside worlds. Confined to the Farm and her parents' sides, Ginnie worked with the animals, tended the vegetable garden, plied the Beskar Forge with her father, and healed. Emotional scars faded, washed away by the brilliant sunlight which had released her of the terrors of her childhood. Aay'han; the perfect synthesis of joy and mourning.

Ginnie Ordo was free.

The Mand'alor called to his adate: it was time for the Republic to discover tor for their sins. [member="Arla Balor"] needed vod to protect her, and vod she would get. Coming toward the Embassy with Arla, Ginnie felt the spring of flames across her buy'ce's sensors. Where Flame had been the herald of disaster, now Ginnie had a new appreciation.

Aay'han; joy and mourning. As the flames grew, Ginnie felt the bath of sunlight on her armour. The Knight and Rally Master had found delight and tor. As the flames licked away from Mando'ade explosions, Ginnie held out her hands.

The flames became pillars of fire roiling around Ginnie in thin tendrils which lifted six feet in the air. Each bit of fire she found poured into the ordered lines. Ginnie grinned. As her and Arla's team made for the Twilight Raid objectives, Ginnie kept her hands repeating the energy coils which kept the flames locked in her control.

Republic soldiers fired on their position. Ginnie flung her hands to their directions, vast chutes of flame burned into the jungle and the soldiers. Armour was only good for so long, the girl knew. She'd built and repaired enough beskar'gam in her short time.

"[member="Kronos Oda"] [member="Aryn Spar"] I have assistance if you need it." She went off the commlink and nodded to her sister.

"Arla, how close are we to destroying that embassy? Give me two minutes and line of sight and it will be done. Then can we help the others on the Beach?"

Colonel Enery Deate stepped out into the hanger of the massive ship and walked towards his battalions ready area. The massive Bantha assault transports sat on the hanger floor in a side maintenance alcove, finishing fueling and awaiting the final word from command to deploy. He walked past a group of fighter jocks who watched him as he paced out into the center of the hanger blocking one of their fighters as it was about to take off.

'Get the hell out of the way!" yelled someone from behind the attack craft causing Enery to stop and look at the fighter and the pilot in its cockpit now cursing him and howling his hands up in derision. Enery, the polite caring soul he was pushed his glasses down his nose and eyed the pilot intently then spit on the deck.

"Forgive me, I was not aware I was crashing the pajama party." said Enery as he pushed the glasses back up his nose and turned and walked away towards his assault craft. The nine Bantha Transports were lined in three rows of three vessels ready and waiting for the call. The Dauntless' air crews were wrapping up fueling and moving away from the massive craft to move on to another group of fighters to the left of the Banthas.

The group was a mix of the older variants and the new MK II's which were now slowly cycling out the older craft. Colonel Deate walked the rest of the way across the hanger and up the ramp of Serpentine Fire, the foremost of the Banthas. The MK II variant posted two massive batteries bristling with weapons and two missile batteries on the forward prongs. Enery walked intot he ship and slammed his hand on the ramps activation button causing it to begin closing.

"Ok you mindless dogs, Its time to forget your mommas and put on your big boy pants. were going in hot. I just got our orders and were headed into the trees. Seems our beloved Marshal what's his name" Enery paused for a moment to try to recall the man's name. he could not just the the man looked like he needed some serious sun tan lotion for the skin condition he was sporting. "any way, like I was saying our Grand Marshal has requested out presence in the poodoo storm tea party he has gotten him and his people into. Now I do not usually drink tea but by god I like getting into poodoo. Now lets get ready, man all weapons and ropes. I get the feeling we will have to pull these green suits out by their tails." finished Enery as he walked past the formation of assault forces assigned to the group. they would be the ones jumping in to get the people off the ground. All he had to do was keep his ships in the air and set fire to anything that looked at him wrong.

Enery climbed into the pilots seat of the massive transport and began his preflight check. His copilot has done most of the prep but he still wanted to make sure he was comfortable with the ships condition and readiness. He finished and put on his helmet and signalled his copilot to fire up the engines.

"Mothergoose to Daultess control, Requesting clearence for departure." said Enery over the communications channel. A voice came back instantly.

"Your Green to go Mothergoose, happy hunting." said the man in flight operations. Enery nodded to his copilot then lifted the massive transport off the deck. The massive assault shuttle slowly began to move out of the side hanger and into the main hanger of the vessel. Behind it the eight other Bantha transports followed suit. The group of nine lined up in the main hanger then as one shot out the hanger and into the skys above Kashyyyk.

"Mister Maker, please give us some mood music to deliver our poor stranded allies from harm to" said Enery as he smiled and glanced at his electronics officer. a moment later the local comm channel was filled with music.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sI_bev7kYHU

The men and women aboard the Banthas smiled and nodded tot he music as the ships shot down through the battle dodging flak and stray laser bolts inbound for the besieged embassy and Grand Marshal [member="Thoja Arlos"]. Enery grined and nodded off to the left at a fighter moving in to take a shot at the transports.

"Light it up" said Enery and the massive batteries of the transport came to life sending out bolts of energy at the incoming attack craft. Klaxons blarid a moment later, "Missile lock" shouted lieutenant Maker. a second later the projectile hit the shielding of the transport rattling it and causing Enery to have to adjust his course a bit so he did not hit the shuttle beside him.

"OK guns free, if it moves towards us tag it. Give it a head ache and pat its little but and send it to hell." said Enery. a few chuckles and some comments from the men made the crew forget about the near miss they had just had with the atmosphere of the planet and the direct immolation it would cause. Enery eyed the altitude counted as they entered the atmosphere of Kashyyk. The counted was dropping rapidly as the nine Banthas dropped from space like comets through the sky. A burst of fire from the sixteen laser cannons intercepted a second missile just before it struck the ship. To his left a bright flash lit up the glassteel causing it to dim as one of the Banthas came apart and disappeared in a ball of fire.
"Harrys toe just bit it Colonel" said the electronics officer. Enery cursed and gripped the controls tighter. "Nothing we can do for them they are barbecue now. Better buckle in maker, this may get rough" said Enery as he pulled back the controls bringing the ship to a sudden stop and spun it left to avoid flak now coming from the surface. The bulky Bantha was not as maneuverable as a fighter but the beast could surprise people who had never controlled one in flight.

"We're in the flak now boys! Lets pick up our beloved leader and then romeo lima foxtrot out of this party." said Enery as the shuttle broke through the upper atmosphere and into the skies of Kashyyyk. looking around to see if anything had followed them in but so far so good. "OK lets give the Marshal the good news shall we." said Enery as he turned the comm channel to the Main Republic channel. Jamming was rampant all over the world and he had no idea if the Grand Marshal or anyone else would hear him but he had to try. H ewas sure if he did not come back with the Republics senior ground officer in one un burnt piece he would have a very bad day.

"Mothergoose to Top Dog, Evac in five, We will get as close as we can be ready to run." said Enery over the channel. He was sure if anyone could hear it the Mandos monitoring comms would hear it too. HE changed channels to his assault detachments channel and called Major Price.

"Ok Price, were going in fast and hitting the ground hard. Every mando schoolboy and his robotoy will be on us from the get go. Our main objective is to pull the Grand Marshal out. Once we have him aboard were headed for roof and cold drinks." said enery. Price simply gave a one word answer "Roger" and Enery went back to trying to keep the Bantha out of the flak. "OK Boys Lets dance." shoted Enery as he pushed the control forward and dived for the world below.

Here they are, Tet thought to himself. "Fire up the long guns. All HVC barrels aim for that Republic-class. See if you can't zero in on the neck." Tet smiled, he was waiting. Sensor showed the five ships of the Republic's main group engaging the Pirate King and his preliminary forces with a support group on the fair side of the battle line. Covering the rear as was normally. Brawlers from the look of them that the Devil's Eyes was sending over. "Make sure the Pirate king has access to the Devil's sensor data. Ahead, three quarters." The Star Destroyer lurched as it began moving, seconds later firing solutions were coming online.

"Target that escort cruiser with the Long Range Ions and Lasers. Ready all guns. I want main batteries on the Republic-class, then half batteries on the escort and the star destroyer. We are running and gunning them today. Missile load, Assault. I like Cyclonics at the rear, clusters in their midst." Today was going to be a good day. With the Warden and Sovereign covering the rear with Interdiction, the enemy wouldn't be able to hope on their rear, the Guardian traveled behind the main line with the Jahaatir, both powered up and doing their duty.

Electronic Warfare nodes split between the cruiser and the star destroyer evenly, though the Long Range guns did not. The full force of the Mark 240 guns started opening up alternating fire every ten seconds unleashing a withering hail of fire while the other Hyper velocity guns started their cyclic rotation, keeping the pressure constant, drifting towards the neck of the Republic-class. The twelve barrels were able to keep it up, two at a time for ten second volleys. Over the course of about a minute, almost five hundred slugs were driven from the ammunition lines, new belts already being sent from the belly of the beast.

Whenever the ship hit standard engagement ranges, its other batteries would open up, split evenly against the Cruiser and the Star Destroyer, trying to see about sawing it in half.

Fighters, moving under the cover of Dedicated Energy Receptor Projectors swooped low, staying out from engagement zones while the other ships moved forward, spearheaded by the Sovereign, its support slightly behind her, as she pulled for standard naval engagement range. "How is it going?" The voice of a much older, much sterner man said from the Command Chair's comlink.

"Its going. First Republic Forces are engaging. We are lighting them up. They brought a big nasty with them. Sovereign and Nad'alyr are flanking. We are pulling for standard range to engage and support the Pirate King." Tet answered tapping his fingers impatiently. He didn't need this oversight. He was barely in command of a full line of ships. "Republic fleet has a rear guard. Nothing too dangerous."

"Good."

Far up in space, there was an entirely different fight going on. It was a battle of fleets, perhaps even more pivotal than the fight taking place on the surface. Ships battled back and forth, as Star Destroyers and fighters alike strategically combined forces to gain the upper hand.
Away from the space battle sat another grouping of ships, just as large as the others. It was the Primeval Warfleet Hydra, the sect of the Primeval Fleet Ajihad had rebuilt and put under his command. The command ship of the fleet was a Time Rift-Class destroyer, a ship capable of conducting electronic warfare like no other. And just as Enery's battlegroup left the hanger and headed for the embassy, they knew about it.
"My Lord, this Admiral Mercer. I wanted to alert you that a battlegroup of hostile dropships is inbound to your location."
Ajihad pondered the issue for a quick second, before activating his encrypted comlink to reply. "Very well. Release Echo Squadron to pursue them. The fighters are faster than their dropships, we should be able to pick them off easily." He paused a moment before continuing. "And prepare another squadron, just in case. I feel our foes have more up their sleeves than they have yet to reveal."
"Very well sir. And one more thing; intelligence reports indicate that a ship entirely filled with water has entered the system.."
Ajihad frowned. A ship entirely filled with water? He would have to investigate. "Very well, Admiral. Carry on. And send a Marine transport down as well, I need to escort a prisoner."
Admiral Mercer would nod as the assassin ended their communications. He relayed Ajihad's orders to his crew. The hangar doors would open on a nearby carrier as two dozen Vaughan fighters sped out. Echo Squadron was on its way. They were doomed to fail.
Back on the surface, the assassin snapped back to reality. It seemed the Mandalorian and the Marshal had engaged in some sort of duel. The Mando's strike missed, and it looked like Arlos was about to slit his throat. Ajihad lifted up a gloved hand once more, this time initiating a different sort of attack. It was an attack of the mind, something he often exercised during torture. Every mind had an off switch in it. If someone managed to flip that switch, then BOOM, they were out like a light. It was a good way to put someone in a coma for a few hours.

FLEET GROUP

As the Nadalyr came about and fired up its interdiction fields, mimicking the arrangement of her sister-ship, Likar kept his eyes on the various battlefield developments depicted on the holoprojection in front of him. He could have just as easily surveyed the scene through the glassteel viewport of his vessel, but in truth he wasn't comfortable on a bridge this exposed, and he preferred to remain as far from the vacuum of space as possible. Even the three meters of armor plating rising to fully enclose the room was small comfort when one was intimately familiar with the sheer destructive power of most capital ship weaponry.

It was barely a matter of minutes later that the fleet of the pirate king arrived, and hot on his heels were the ships of their enemy. Fresh reinforcements acting as the second wave of the orbital battle. The republic ships began launching fighters and preparing formations almost immediately, though they had yet to engage the mandalorian vessels.

"Primary target is that star destroyer. Hypervelocity and binary fusion cannons coordinate fire with the Sovereign, and engage that secondary escort with the ion and turbolaser long guns. All other weapons standby for range and firing solutions. I want ECM's divided proportionally, two on the destroyer and one per escort. Train the conical projectors on their formations, prioritizing incoming fighter trajectories. If they're going to use missiles, I want them firing blind."

"Aye, Sir." Came the chorus from the bridge crew, and the ship began to reverberate with the sound of constant weaponsfire as the guns engaged their assigned targets. The Nad'alyr moved in concert with her sister ship, and the pair of Nynir frigates accompanying her each held back and began to engage the star destroyer along with the two much larger sovereign-class ships.

Armis nodded to Jessica jumping on the squad comm.

"First push left fill in the gaps and dig in." "Third push right." "Getting ready for a long day."

He surveyed the battlefield shaking his head. This was definitely a cluster but he was not ready to die today. He switched channels on the comms. Things were about to get very chaotic.

"Alpha this is Zeta requesting fire mission." "Target coordinates up five from checkpoint Delta danger close.......fire for effect."

Myles took a deep breath as he heard somebody yell grenade and he was yanked back into the closest hole one of his squad mates. Another jumped on the grenade tossed by Varien shielding the others from the blast. It took him a minute or two to get his wits about him. Then he dove back into action.

He screamed out to everyone.

"Get small fire inbound."

He looked at Jessica.

"You may want to find a hole Ma'am......heavy ordinance inbound."

More than a decade, the Republic had put up a valiant fight. They had fought their inevitable advance tooth and nail for every inch of territory, spilling blood in the thousands of gallons. The trees grew fertile in the following months, bloated with their unwilling sacrifice. There had been veritable legions of wookiees taking up arms to defend their ancestral home. The battle had raged long and hard, with heavy losses on both sides. It had been vicious and impossibly taxing. It had been rewarding.

But now?

Loray was bored. By extension, Aver was bored too.

It really wasn’t what they had come for. War was their home as much as the warmth of a hearth in winter is to other men. Gentler men. Lesser men, perhaps.

She’d wondered about these things once – about a decade ago, incidentally – but that had been stripped from her. The patchwork of humanity, scavenged and sewed meticulously together; flayed.

Killing in and of itself had never brought her joy. The strife was where it was at. Conflict, always. Even the most stable and consistent fixture in her life for the past ten years liked to see her writhe. Seethe. Spit blood and carve swathes through enemies. Through him. He especially liked it whenever she brought her violence to bear on him.

With a sigh, she lowered her sidearm. The fleeing Pub was cut down a moment later by Mando fire from the sidelines. Just as well.

Chatter erupted over the comms channel again – something about a massive Republic fleet dropping in. Late or intentional? Didn’t matter. The invaders were prepared and met them head on. Normally, she’d have tuned out any mentions of space, but then a keyword hooked her attention like a raw steak dangled in front of a starved animal.

The mercenary licked her lips. Called the Mando. “The Equalizers will lead your boarding action,” she said, with the same tone one might state the sky is blue.

“Come, Loray.”

They had bigger fish to fry, and the corpses in the ground would rest a while longer.

The oversized cat disappeared through the flames, their hungry tongues licking at his beskar-clad body. Andy hummed her approval as she turned up the heat. Could always respect a man who didn’t shy away from fire.

But that was also the last thought the Rodarch spared for her fellow Death Watch. She was in heaven, truly. A planet full of nothing but kindling. Tall, impressive, ancient kindling, but kindling nonetheless. It was everywhere. Connected too. How obliging. Andy giggled a private giggle, utterly lost to the ravenous WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH of the gouts spewing from the nozzle of her flamethrower.

So, so pretty. All of it. How the fine mist of napalm coated every surface with its deadly lacquer. It shimmered only for a moment before erupting into the white-hot pyre it was always meant to be. The true destiny of any wood to ever sprout from the beep of Mother earth.

A faint cackle sounded through the raucous laughter of the flames. It was coming from the lone, thin figure standing there in the middle of the firestorm. She was black against the blinding gold of the sun, a shimmering demon of heat and nightmares.

Only Andy Rodarch was very real, and so were the fires spreading wherever she went.
