Invasion The Republic Shall Fall [One Sith Invasion of Coruscant]

This was going to hurt.

As he slammed against the steps for the first time, the light armor he wore cracked. Vindica had to act quickly, and intelligently. He'd faced protectorate troops before, he'd faced Bolters, and he had a plan that just might save his life. As Sibohan raised him up to smash him into the earth again, he reached out to the troops closest too her, just as they fired. The weapons would act as they were designed too, detonating as Vindica grasped them. The explosions would break Kerrigan's focus long enough for him to get free of the grasp. He needed a new plan.

He fell on his knees, standing up, one eye burning red with hatred, the other remaining green, remnants of something no longer living. HK's troops charged valiantly, they were brave, he'd give them that. As more Sith moved in, they flocked to Vindica's side, facing the Iron Company. There was no diabolical line from him, nothing but silence as his enemy charged, in fact he deactivated his saber.

As the forces clashed a bayonet went for Vindica's head, the user hoping to claim a Sith Lord as a kill. It wouldn't be happening. Vindica ducked under and shot up an open palm into the man's chin, forcing his head to kick back long enough for the assassin to place the hilt to his throat and ignite it briefly.

The corpse of course collapsed into a heap in front of the others who'd yet to take on a Sith, and like all soldiers, watching on of their brothers die angered them. Another charged, only to have his fallen comrades weapon propelled into him at massive speed. The bayonet ran through the armor with a sickening crunch. Vindica didn't have time for games, a force push sent a group of charging vibrosword wielders onto their backsides, and before they could get up, Sith were upon them, slitting their throats.

Vindica locked eyes...or photoreceptors...or something with HK and his guard. Vindica had similar friends. Behind him stood two men, his saber guards, they'd survived since the fall of the Empire, and force knows how many coups within it, at least these two had. They had experience to counter their lack of numbers in comparison to HK's guard, they could best each of them one on one, he was confident in this, but in this situation he was not so sure. Time would tell. Vindica and his guard began moving towards HK slowly at first, then breaking into a full on charge.

Free from the Jedi’s hold, Darth Nephthys was a whirl of black fabric and hair. On her feet, she began to run in a half circle around the Nautolan, only to suddenly snap her head to the right. There, in the midst of chaos, the Force uttered a cry of preemptive warning.

A token of precognitive innate abilities that only became stronger when fighting alongside her brother. The fierce face of the Iktotch bloomed in her mind as she became a dark blur, coming to a sudden halt about three meters from the senator.

Instinct to protect her brother had her focus in absolute stillness, as a static barrier went blooming in front of her brother, a hard wall of protection to prevent any buckshot from tearing into her onii-san.

She was his Shield.

And she would not allow any to harm him.

"The Meditation Chambers!" A Knight came rushing past Avalore, en route into the thick of things, "Avalore get to the Meditation Chambers! Master Draclau is coordinating evacuation of Padawans!"

"But ...Ysan!"

"She's with the younglings, GO!"

Easier said than done. Avalore threw her gaze around, wild brown eyes gazing at the long, cluttered hall of running bodies she would have to sprint. The very thought of it made her short of breath.

"AVALORE GO!"

She grabbed her belly, bundled the lengths of her robes, and began her lolloping gambol towards what she hoped to be safety.

Sixth Battalion was on point now. Ain't nothing gonna stop Jed's boys. Even if their foes had space magic that begged for post edits and glowsticks that infuriated the writers on the HoloNet, Jed wouldn't stop. By now, he and his men were blitzing the Jedi Temple like a knife through warm butter. Adorned in their Phase II Clone trooper armor and equipped with similar, but more modern equipment, they made quick work of the defenders as dozens of soldiers rushed the Temple. The wounded had been evac'd, now all that was left to do was kick ass and chew bubblegum. The Colonel was all out of bubblegum.

The Colonel eyed what appeared to be a battle of the fittest fourth wall breaker. [member="Dak Canton"] was busily firing away at a Jedi, [member="Sam Jhovna"], who just so happened to throw her only weapon at him. Weird. Sighing, mentally scratching off "Save Jedi" on his To-Do list, he lifted his rifle. He'd run out of ammunition with his DC-15A and had abandoned it long ago in favor for a new little toy he'd found earlier. The engraved markings in the side referred to it as a model CZ-836. He hadn't fired it yet, and he hopefully wouldn't have to unless some dumbass wanted their head blown off.

"Damn Jedi." He snarled, barreling forward to shoulder ram [member="Sam Jhovna"]. Of course he was a little pissed at her poor decision making, but he did happen to drop her out of harms way by slamming her into a doorway. Of course, he wasn't able to use the Force and sense the bullet entering his calf. "God's mother!" He blurted out, dropping to a knee once they were in the room. The damned slug had tore cleanly through his leg. BAM! "Holy saint Peter the great." The man growled as the incendiary traits of the bullet exploded, blowing off chunks of meat and blood from his leg.

This Jedi was going to owe him a lot.

Durasteel groaned while Duracrete and polished velmstone shuddered. Fragments of debris began to fall only to bounce harmlessly over that citrine bubble of protection, sliding down the curve of that shimmering sphere of energy to the floor.

Yet the Zabrak Jedi Knight did not move. Not a single twitch of her fingers or a flutter of her eye lashes. As the ceiling began to crack under the powerful grip of the Sith Lord, A'dele kept her focus, the mantra of the Jedi Order keeping her concentration constant. Firm.

Unfaltering.

For those who were unfamiliar to the seiza position, it was the Atrisian from dubbed 'proper sitting.' To sit seiza-style, one must first be kneeling on the floor, folding their legs underneath their thighs, while resting the curve of their bottom on the heels. The ankles are turned outward as the tops of her feet are lowered into a slight 'v' shape, allowing the tops of the feet flat on the floor. The back is kept perfectly straight, although not unnaturally stiff, with women sitting with their knees together.

Those unfamiliar with this style of sitting for meditating would find that maintaining it for more than a minute or two tends to lead to a loss of circulation, with the accompanying 'pins and needles' feeling, followed by painful burning sensations, and eventually complete numbness in the legs.

However, for one with a wealth of experience in meditating in this exact style day in and day out, the circulation of the blood improves. An experienced seiza practitioner like her could maintain this posture for forty minutes or more with minimal discomfort. In the stillness she was a tower of strength. For in the discomfort she was brought to focus, to her center.

Her concentration would not be broken, despite the desires of the Sith Lord as finally the debris of the crumbling ceiling came tumbling down upon her. Large chunks of duracrete and twisted metal fell, only to bounce and slide off the protection bubble. A thin sheen of sweat soon began to grow over A'dele's tattoo'd cheeks and over her brow, deeply concentrating as a massive cloud of debris and dust rose all around her, the sound of the crumbling ruins resonating through the meditation chambers...

Only to clear afterward and reveal the Jedi Knight still in the same position, only this time, surrounded by debris just outside that citrine circle, the ceiling a large crater allowing rays of light to fall upon the Jedi almost light a halo through the settling cloud of dust as that protection bubble ever lingered like a silent taunt.

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
Location: Coming Up The Steps of the Temple
Objective: Fighting the Sith, Darth Vindica, and his Honor Guards
Allies: Siobhan Kerrigan, [member="Bluejay Ungolfen"], Iron Company troops and Aedan Miles' Droid Company
Enemies: [member="Darth Vindica"]

The Sith who were upon his knocked down troops did not had much time to celebrate, another thunderous barrage was heard as their limp bodied knocked down into the ground, as if stricken by a ruthless blow of a warhammer. Their armor shattering and blood splattering over the surface of metal floor as they were peppered with deadly grapeshot shot from MK 2 bolters.

Here and there an Iron Trooper or Knight was impaled or slashed by a red lightsaber.
Here and there a Sith screamed out as a vibrosword was driven trough their gullet, or their cries were cut short by decapitation, or a bayonet was driven through their armor and twisted. They were beat down, here and there, by the weight of the bolters in Knight's strong hands, wielding them much like maces in close-combat, or a direct hit would burst through a Sith's armor, exploding the fleshy matter as the shrapnel dug its way into the bodies of Sith's friends. Grapeshots took few Sith down at the time, the deadly weapons peppering their lighter armor with shards of metal, little pellets propelled at deadly speed like a shot from a cannon.

It was war, a true battle. The Sith and Iron Knights were both experienced in combat, many of the Knights were veterans of the Bando Gora Campaigns, surviving this long when they came face to face with Dark Side's demons, minions, Sith Knights and Lords, undead, and they stood fighting through resolve, knowledge, persistence. Sith were strong, but so were the Iron Knights.

As a wave from Vindica's hand detonated a barrage from bolters the troops looked back, shielding themselves with their armed forearms and gauntlets, the shrapnel from their shots peppering their armor. Still they kept going, soon enough firing once more, falling a Sith after the other, even a barrage of three bolts were shot in Vindica's direction from one of the looser Knight groups.
It was, however, rather hard to disorient Siobhan with such a trick, for the simple fact that she was behind the lines of troops with HK, not in front of them. Therefore, the soldiers would be shielding her from the blast and shrapnel while she still was able to maintain eye-contact with Vindica.

Now, as Vindica and his two Honor Guards began rushing at HK and Greycloaks, the droid did not return the favor. He faced the Sith, two of his guards at one side, two on the other, all of them had a shatter-pistol in hand. In unison they raised it towards the Sith running at them, pistols aimed at them in one hand, lightsabers in the other, and they pulled the triggers, the projectiles were sent ejected from fire-arms silently.

While Vindica's troops were veterans of the Empire, but HK and his guards were veterans of the Old Republic. They were senior in experience to the Sith and his guards by few thousand years or so. For Vindica wasn't facing just HK and his guards, he was facing HK and four armored copies of the droid he used as guards.

So their shatterpistols fired, two at each of Vindica's guards, one on him. Although the shatterpistols were weapons that fired silently, a very advanced rail-gun systems, clear whooosh sounds were heard as their bullets flew through the air at high speed. Just how high speed? Well the bullets were small caliber, small enough that it was near impossible to deflect them by lightsaber, because one could not really notice them until they hit, yet the bullets were propelled with enough velocity to punch through light-vehicle armor. With one shot HK was able to dent phrik armor just before facing the Sith, a metal that survived the destruction of Alderaan, and Vindica's armor was already cracked. They were very much so high-powered sniper rifles in pistol form, their drawback was the rate of fire, only five bullets were sent so far at Vindica and his charging troops.

And how good was HK's aim?
The droid was good enough gunslinger that he was able to shot a dragon in flight, passing over head the machine as he climbed a giant spire-like root during the Mask of Madness incident, in couple of seconds HK had to climb the root before the dragon noticed him, take a quick aim when the beast passed over head, and hit it with the shatterpistol in its vulnerable spot on the under-belly before disappearing once more.
And HK was able to accomplish that, in less than a second he was able to rip armored scales off of the flying beast and disappear before the dragon-fire tried to melt him.

And this time Vindica and his troops were just before him, running at him, a much easier target.

The bullets were aimed at their chests, aligned to go clean through their bodies and hit the spinal column.

Objective: Holding it down against the assorted criminals, Yuuzhan Vong, and Invaders.

The Quad-Vong wasn't going to fight him, it was obvious it wasn't because he was scared. It was because he didn't need to prove anything to Antares Windu. Antares was beneath him, and it was probably true, but the Jedi Knight didn't take no for an answer.

Especially from the enemy.

The Yuuzhan Vong that had fallen at his feet hadn't even been given the chance to stand up, the aqua blue blade that was Antares's lightsaber plunged it into it's head, and then dragged down through it's neck and it slowly melted it's vonduun crab armour.

He knew that [member="Kiskla Grayson"] had answered him, he felt it, and then he was on the move again. The Myrshavong tore through the metal and walls where men hid. He shredded them to pieces with amphistaff's and hands, he was a savage. He was unstoppable.

He had to die.

Antares's legs carried him a few feet before he leapt into the air, letting the Force carry him and he flipped to carry his momentum even further and he landed in front of [member="Tsavong Kraal"]. Sliding a few feet before he turned around and pointed his lightsaber at the Yuuzhan Vong.

This time he said nothing, this time he couldn't be thrown to the side. This time the beast would have something that would give him a fight. And he advanced, a single hold on his lightsaber as he gathered the Force and throwing debris (that was large enough to get the attention of the beast) at the creature.

The Commando heard the voice named Serenity respond to him. "Serenity, this is RC-1025. The Senate Building is mostly evacuated but there are some Senators missing. I have reason to believe that they may have been nabbed. I found one of her Naboo guard KIA. Following blood trail. Any information on the Senator or her whereabouts would be greatly appreciated, over," he said.

The blood trail was now turning into spatters and were getting less and less frequent. That wasn't a good sign. However when he cleared the corner, he saw two armed men there and the fluttering of a dress disappear at the corner on the end of the hallway he turned to. They saw him and raised their rifles but the Clone, bred and trained for combat all of his life, was faster. Two bodies fell to the floor as the Commando continued with barely a break in his stride. "Update, confirmed Senator has been kidnapped. Just took down two mercenaries but still in pursuit. Level 64," he said.

I grunted as a Republic soldier came out of nowhere and slammed the Jedi out of harms way, taking a hit in the process. I ceased firing with my BTI Ripper and used the lull to duck down behind my pillar. I slammed the Ripper back into its holster and hefted my Czerka assault rifle. I still had a dozen or so rounds left in the mag, all of 'em 5.56mm FLARE slugs. Oh, and I had one last White Phosphorus grenade in the underslung.

Y'know what's nice? Barely having moved an entire firefight. I mean, sure, my ribs were killing me where the verpine round had hit. I was still pretty sure one of the ribs was broken and damn did it hurt. That said, not having to move around a whole lot meant I didn't have to run around, which meant I didn't have to aggravate the break.

Anyway, I pivoted out from behind cover and squeezed a secondary trigger.

Thunk.

The Willy Pete grenade went sailing toward the Republic soldier, clinking near his feet. It immediately threw up a shower of chemical sparks that lit up the whole area and white phosphorus smoke started billowing out of it. Those sparks could burn right through plastoid armor. As for that smoke? Let's just say inhaling it would be a bad idea.

In a kneeling hasty fighting position, I stared through the optics and waited for my target to be flushed out, finger steady on the trigger.

Objective: Walk Away.

When the dust cleared and the Jedi was still there, the Sith Lord looked annoyed more than anything. “Really?” He said in disbelief. He looked down the hallway then down the other side. Then he looked back inside the meditation and weighed his options.

He turned around and away from the mediation chambers, and moved quickly back down the hallways. Kentarch used force cloak so he could move around unseen and unhindered. He passed through the main hall, out the main entrance and down the stairs out into the city block. “Need a pick up.” He said into his communicator. Despite the fighting around the area, a transport came to Kentarch as he released his force cloak. He boarded the transport and ordered the ship to fly back into space where he would watch the battle progress via holotable.

Then she was joined by her good friend Aika, and already Sochi could sense what she was thinking; funny things those Force Bonds. She had only ever formed them with four others, and Aika was one of them. She listened to what she said, and she wasn't wrong,

"Your right, I can't help but feel the emotions running rampant at this moment. This will always be something troubling on my mind. Regardless these people come first.." she said shaking her had before commotion and fear filled the air. She quickly turned around to see...she was quite sure, some form of life tearing down an turret. This must've been what her troopers were telling her; this was the inevitable. Luckily they had gotten a good majority of the tourist out of the area before the rest went scrambling about.

"Aika, can you use that alter ability of yours to whip up some wind?" she took a beat so there was more than enough time to receive an answer. Then she turned to her men, "Prepare yourselves for battle, try and hold this line we don't want them to advance any further! Will use our ships as air support." she said now talking loudly so the others can hear her. Her troops gathered around and she called upon the force to pulled crates into the immediate area where her forces began to set them up strategically. One she kept for herself.

She ignited her lightsaber and blaster bolts immediately began to flare. "Aika gather what citizens you can and retreat further into the complex." she gave her friend an expression of worry, though it was subtle. She was quite sure if this was going to be the end or not. Then she turned back to her men, "Commander, get those ships in the air."

Then she crushed a wooden crate with the force and lifted a couple of individual pieces into the air, intending to use them as projectiles. Her Cerulean blade ignited and casting its glow over her brown robes.

Sokrai's speeder came to a screeching halt, as she merely used force-powered acrobatics to land on top of the wall, as soldiers began taking pot-shots at her. She easily deflected them, as she began sprinting at the poor, unfortunate souls. Sokrai quickly struck them down in one fell swoop, as fellow soldiers turned and ran, their tail between their legs. She turned on her heel, hearing the guttural noises of [member=Tsavong Kraal] . Seeing the knight land in front of her, she quickly did some more acrobatics, and landed between Kraal and the knight. The 5.56 mm bullets with acid inside them shooting towards her, fired by [member="Dak Canton"] from inside the Temple, were a problem. She was wearing beskar'gam, but even so she did not want to get peppered by the salvoes, even though she would obviously have no way of knowing they contained acid. Theoretically a telekinetic shove could have solved the problem, but that would have required multiple pushes. As for simply stopping bullets in mid-air like certain holovids presented as feasible, that required more finesse and concentration than she was willing to give.

Probably more finesse than she possessed, come to think of it. A scalpel she was not. So when given the choice between testing what defensive force powers she had or dodging she chose a third option in form of telekinetically gripping the bodies of three dead Sith - her own telekinetic shockwave and the hail of bolter and laser rounds unleashed by the Iron Company troops had demanded their tribute in blood - and raised them from the ground into the air with a casual mental gesture. For her that took very little energy as they were thrust into the trajectory of the rounds. The effect of the rounds upon them was rather vicious, the corpses having already been gruesomely mangled by bolter fire.

Her danger senses prickled and then she felt a strong blast as she felt a few stray bolter rounds prematurely detonate. Now, Siobhan had not been standing at the front, rather to the rear of the Iron Knights. Ergo she would have quite a number of soldiers shielding her and chances were bolter rounds not be flying past her. The blast pushed her back slightly but not much as there would be no rounds shooting past her and she had a few heavily armoured troopers shielding her. However, the detonations obviously made smoke rise up into the air, which was a temporary annoyance. Some stray shards of shrapnel peppered off her heavy armour.

So as HK and his forces engaged the Sith, she focused her power and exerted her telekinetic will, then unleashed it upon her opponent, keeping line of sight with Vindica. The outburst of her power was a telekinetic shockwave that blossomed into a force explosion, designed to slam into him with the force of a telekinetic battering ram, an invisible Mjoellnir of power. One of Siobhan's talents was being concussively unkind and this she was demonstrating now as she harnessed the Force into a bludgeon with which to beat her enemies, to send them flying, crush their bones.

Out of the corner of her eye she spotted the damaged bronzium statue that she had pulled into the air and used as a weapon against charging Sith earlier before Vindica appeared on the spot. Stretching out with her mind, with a look of intense concentration written over her face, the fingers of her free hand curling, she seized it once more and propelled it into the air. To brutally swing it at Vindica from behind with tremendous speed and kinetic force, wielding it like a club as she sought to smash it into him and beat him with it.

Ben thrusted his lightsaber into the armor of the giant Sith Lord with an audible grunt, but he met resistance, glancing up he widened his eyes when he realized it was not going to cut right through it. He knew it was going to be tough so he was not too surprised. He pressed as hard as he could, trying to get it to go all the way through, but the laughter of the Sith Lord alerted him to the fact that it was not going to work. Before he had time to remove the lightsaber he felt the powerful force of the Sith Lords fist slam into his face and send him flying through the air.

Crashing through a piece of rubble, Ben came to a sliding stop, but he did not have time to writhe in pain as Shara was flying right at him again with his lightsaber raised high into the air. Ben rolled quickly out of the way, the sound of the lightsaber slamming into the ground and cutting deep into the ground hit his ears. Pushing himself up, he jumped to a standing position, but the sound of another voice washed over him. Holding his lightsaber firmly in front of him, he glanced at [member="Daella Apparine"] before speaking. "Master Apparine," He nodded his head at her before he returned his attention to the Sith. "I will stand with you any day."

Share slammed into the ground, sending out a slight wave of concussive force that rippled dust and broken duracreet. His massive bulk rose and turned to face the Jedi Master, a scowl growing on his lipless face. There was no time anymore, this man had to die, so that Shara could move on to killing other Jedi.

A voice caught his attention, a female one. He saw [member="Daella Apparine"] stand in place, shooting her a brief glance. His free hand shot up and a massive bolt of purple and blue lightning rippled the air. The sparks danced and jumped towards the blonde woman.

At the same time Shara dashed forward, his lightclub extending out into a massive downward swing, strength enough to bend durasteel placed into his blow.

The Zelosian Jedi Master's blades were a blur as he turned to his right. His blue blade turned to point at the ground and parried the blade at his right while the yellow blade in his left hand swept to bat away the crimson blade directed at his torso. His 360 degree turn ended with Talon still on the defensive. He could feel the Sith as she lunged for his mind the wail of a thousand desperate voices pierced his mind. Talon was a master of push/pull and telekinesis but his defense of his mind was only basic instinct.

Again the Protectors of the diminutive woman sprung om him and his blades batted the blades up and out. His arms brought the sabers back in and removed the heads of both. The daggers of her eyes plunged into his mind and immediately the thought of not finding Kira sprung to his thoughts. His feelings for her had been slowly growing for some time and in his heart of hearts she had a place that he never spoke of. He was Jedi as she was and she was pure in a way that he valued above his own feelings. Yhe Sith had pierced his mental armor and he had to choose between the blades of her protectors piercing his body or the blades in her eyes piercing his mind.

"Stay out." Talon said as his mind tried to hide his secrets. His training on Rhen Var and his growing feelings for Kira Liadain.

The effort of putting up the barrier had made his hand slow as a crimson blade grazed his chest leaveing a green burn in his thick akin and tore open his tunic to reveal the scars of torture. He had to choose his physical protection now over his mind. She would be able to see far too much but it wouldn't matter if he was dead.

The truck landed as Popo got the communications from the troops he'd requested. Apparently, he'd missed what the commando had stated before, which was odd. It wasn't like him to miss crucial information like that, but it couldn't be helped. Honest mistakes happened. For now, they were attacking the rear of the enemy forces, as had been the plan. Popo, however, because he'd misheard, was now with the Jedi who'd driven him here on the enemy flank. Ironically enough, between the Temple, Popo and the Jedi girl, and the Republic troops, they had the Sith fully flanked.

He slid out the back of the truck while the girl did her Jedi thing, careful not to fall off the back bed. Trucks were great, but Hutts didn't do well with steps or drops. After carefully exiting the truck, and irreparably bending the tailgate, he took in the stock of the situation. Troops all around, target rich environment, lightsabers everywhere. It was almost like a rave in the underworld, though slightly less lethal.

At least, less lethal before. Popo took action and did the one thing few people would ever expect from a Hutt: he charged. The E-Web on his shoulder spat plasma death into the Sith ranks as his wrist blasters placed more precision fire where needed. As he closed ranks, the electro staff spun and lashed out. Sith and Sith soldiers alike fell like wheat before the scythe as the Shell Hutt carved his way into the enemy.

"For the Republic!" was the battlecry that tore from his throat and blasted from his helmet speakers.

Popo had joined the fight at last.

Energy went surging through her limbs, up her body into a tangible wind that swept her hair back off her pallid face, the dark kohl and bruised eye sockets surrounding the obsidian orbs reflecting back that fear. In it she focused on it, on the woman, on his concern, his worry.

More images came to her, as the Oracle delved into farsight to elaborate more about his secret. Her head jerked back as sickening feelings of pain, anguish, agony, and utter hatred shot through her. While she reveled in the emotions, they were not her own.

No. They were someone elses.

That wolfish smile curved into a devious grin, as she spoke not with her mouth, but with her mind, echoing around him as two more guards ran up to him to strike.

Then, a bright pink-purple spark exploded outward - yet in a manner that would not have harmed anyone - as Daella’s eyes held a flash of yellow.

Shara stopped himself mid stride, a difficult thing for someone of his size to do. He managed it however with a fist slammed into duracrete. He came to a grinding halt, stopping only a few feet before the blonde woman. He let out a loud growl.

“You know my name.” That was something he had not suspected, something that had utterly shocked the massive Sith Lord, something that had made him sto

The Maelibus rose to his full height, nearly ten feet tall and towering over the tiny blonde woman. His huge lightsaber droned loudly, his grip tightening on it as unease grew within him. He didn't like this, no Jedi should know his name. Something was wrong, this was no Jedi before him.
