Emberlene's Daughter, The Jedi Generalist

She looked at him for a moment more like a teacher seeing a student realize something before moving. "It is always showing new mysteries, even for me someone who has dedicated more time to studying the mysteries. I can always find something new about the force that draws my attention... and it is why some really dislike my approach. Respecting it and understanding that ones knowledge never stops growing with the force. As opposed to these ones who think that they have mastered it because they spent a week learning one technique." She chuckled to herself while walking down the way and it gave way to the edge of the city where the statues were all set up along with the pathways out of the city. "We'll head out and it will be easier to explain and show."

"It's funny... I've been at this for what, two decades?" He would respond, shaking his head and chuckling lightly. "And yet I continue to learn more about the Force... And the more it continues to amaze me, even when I've begun to think I understand it so well."

He smirked in turn as he would listen to her speak about it, and nodded his head at her offer. "Of course" He said. "Lead the way."

He was interested... What did she mean by explaining and showing, exactly?

There was a very tight lipped grin on her face when they were going over at a couple of the things here. She could look out and see a whole lot more of it now. She was walking and seeing a whoole lot more of the world now that they had gotten out into the fields. Her and Sorel had explored the tower, met its guardian and learned how best to move around the world. There was a great deal more going on before she stuck around here. Everything they were all wanting to see, a few more things though here on the world before the jedi master gave some parts of it. "Yes that is how the force is, many discount it and fail to understand that it will always seek to teach you a great many things." Matsu had some more ideas until she walked over to some of them, some of the parts with her own interest when she motioned for them to be able to continue towards the mountains.

“I guess in the end, all we can do is try out best to learn to understand” He remarked softly as he just continued to view the details of the planet around him. The grass, the trees, the dirt, anything that might be something worth observing. He was in particular looking for things or variations of them, that he had never seen in his life... The power of curiousity always could lead to a great discovery after all. This was special especially to a Jedi, who thrived on knowledge.

“I wonder what else...” He trailed off as he would follow her lead. “... The Force would wish to teach us?”

She was looking at him with a nod of her head when they continued through the fields now. Where they would be able to go all over with a lot more sections. The jedi master allowing herself to reach out with the force to look over the planet. Here in the field she could see a great deal more going on for all of them. The jedi master breathed out searching over the field until her mind relaxed allowing the feeling of the force around them to guide her with the veins of crystals on the planet. The flow of the force enriched waters and where life came to be on the world itself as it started to come to a corpse of trees that were tall and white with pink, red, purple and dozens of shades in between.

He knew Matsu was reaching out, but as she hadn't really indicated what she was doing, all he could really do was stand there and watch. Watch with his eyes, tilt his head, curious as to what his former Master was doing. She hadn't indicated verbally or even physically in some fashion. The fact she was sensing was a guess, to him. But he did, ever so slowly begin to reach out via the Force, just via instinct. A habit, if you will.

He wondered what he would find...

Allowing the force to reach out and manifest around her went a long way. Matsu could see more of it before they were all going along with a small indication from her hands as they arrived. This ar out of the city, away from everything that they had the untouched sections of the world where the machine creatures and a number of others roamed. Matsu stopped under one of the trees as the leaves reflected purple, yello, pink and red with the leaves looking like small hands and there were faces carved into the bark. The force resonating from within the tree as she could feel it with some of the smaller pieces of fruit. "Hmm these are rare and good."

"What are these, exactly?" The Jedi Master would inquire toward his own Master. Matsu hadn't really clarified just what she was trying to reach out to sense, nor what she was testing. She had left him completely in the dark. And while he was a Jedi Master in his own right... He felt it a disrespect to try and read his Master's mind to try and find the answers. If they were answers that she felt he should have, she would give them herself. Shmi had a mind-reading habit too, and he knew she was uncomfortable with doing it on accident too, for the same reasons. So he would try to take tabs from her...

Looking at him as she took one of the fruits from the tree the jedi master spoke, "Well these are fruits that you can eat. Bitter outside but the inside is very moist and juicy. Figured you might be a little hungry and nothing like dining on the local cuisine to really get relaxed. We have a lot more searching around here to do still so time to see what can come from it." She had a small grin on her face while going about it all, more information here and there would be coming but she was also still exploring this world, The trees that were ancient an interconnected were something she had not been expecting.

"Screw it, why not" The Jedi Master would respond as he would hold out a hand, bringing one of the fruits from the tree and casually taking a bite out of it without even touching it with his hand. Was he showing off? Probably. More than likely, he was doing it to entertain Matsu, pull a little joke. Would she get mad at him for using the Force for something so trivial? Probably not, and it WAS for her anyway.

Either way, he would squint a bit at the bitter taste at first, but as he kept going through, the taste seemed to improve and he slowly nodded his head. "Huh, neat" He remarked as he took another bite and looked around at the environment around them.

"Were I one of the more serious master I might think that you were abusing the force but it is not such a terrible thing." She said it more with a look on her face while she ate a piece of the fruit herself. Walking around and the bark of the tree she could see as it had a carved face with sap leaking down from the eyes. She could see a lot more as the locals who were here explained and they moved around. "The locals, from what they said these trees are ancient, by most standards they have stood for millions of years and see many things of the worlds history. People forget but the trees remember."

A chuckle escaped him at her remark. "I use the Force for my mission, as I have been trained... But I am still human, no? I am still a human being with telekinetic powers. It only stands to reason I may use them for trivial things. Like showing off" He would joke, shooting his former Master a cheeky grin in turn.

He would follow behind her as she would continue the tour. He noticed the sap leaking from the trees carved eyes and he wondered why... Tradition, perhaps? What in their culture though, prompted that? He would listen as she would talk about the memory of trees, and he nodded his head at the end.

"Do the trees remember them cutting eyes in them where the sap comes from?" He half joked, though in this... It was his way of asking about the nature of the carvings.

"Possibly, or perhaps they remember because they have been carved." She said it and she wasn't entirely certain about the nature of it but she was willing to learn what they might have or know. She was more then willing to really try and learn from the other people and cultures on the planet. Where she could continue to look on the planet would go a long way for what the jedi master did. With the fruit on the trees themselves she could see where these trees were. Coming out as she could see some of the attendants who roamed around that let large manes of shiny black hair gleam in the light. She was joining them on the side of the trees for a moment and getting direction into the corpse of trees deeper.

"Suppose even the apparent generalist doesn't know everything" The Jedi would tease, shooting her a cheeky grin in turn. That nickname seemed weird, almost arrogant to him, but he meant no malice in his teasing. He would walk alongside her as he would watch the trees, noting their carvings, each one... Wondering about their origin. She did not know, and he did not either... Would the villagers know? He was tempted to ask one of them...

But his lack of communication with any of them in the past made him apprehensive. Did they even speak the language that they did?

She was looking at him. "If I knew everything it would be very boring. A jedi should never stop learning or trying to improve, to stop you face the real danger. Ignorance is a danger no one should have." She stayed there and talking with some of the people got a small look on her face. Seeing how they were dressed and going around she had an idea of what they were doing. Being some of the confessors who listened to others and comforted them with the force itself. She was leading the way and she looked at him before speaking and standing there. "As I taught my daughters when they were young. How to cook an egg, there is much knowledge to be gained." She waited for a moment. "It is a liquid for the most part, then you heat it up and.... it becomes harder, it solidifies as opposed to most liquids that when heated up become gases. It serves as the base and binding agent in many dishes that you eat everyday. Knowledge is power and while it can be hard at times what is more costly is the price of ignorance."

"Suppose you might know everything about making hurricanes out of nothing but not everything is in your reach, then" He joked lightly, seeming to enjoy at least being able to banter and make jokes about... Well, everything. "But it's true. Our whole lives we just keep learning. If we knew it all, what fun would that be if the learning stopped?" He would remark, with a shrug in turn as he would continue to listen to what Matsu had to say.

"When they were young? Geez, they were just young when I knew them a few years ago."

"They are still young compared to many but they are also learning a lot of skills. It helps that there is a few very talented jedi who they have learned with such as Corvus and Sorel. It gives all of them something that they can strive for." She wa slooking at more of it and getting a larger idea where they could and might be able to go later. She wanted to explore before checking around the woods here. Seeing everything that they brought for themselves. "Either way, my five daughters will hopefully become talented jedi in their own rights, improving upon my legacy and seeing the galaxy change."

"Five? Geez, I thought you only had two" He would answer, shaking his head in bewilderment. For someone who apparently was not exactly on the "straight and narrow", Matsu sure had a lot of children. What exactly had sent her to the "dark side" if she had stuck to one end long enough to have five kids? Perhaps he didn't want to know, if he was being completely honest with himself... Some things were just better left unsaid.

"Only met Corvus and Sorel once each. Both kind of... Disappeared."

"They were driven away by others with more ambition then honor." She said it but coming through the trees now led into a thicker area, with the trees standing taller. A pond that steamed in the middle as one of the beings on the planet stood there with a large blade. A cloth in their hand when it was over their lap and they were rubbing the ends of it with the cloth and a whetstone to make it sharp. It seemed to have no hostile intent when they looked up and pale blue eyes looked out from under reddish black hair. Smooth features until Matsu looked at Josh. "And yes five, just because I don't make a show of every little thing though people forget."

"You're preaching to the choir" He spoke, looking her dead in the eyes. It had happened to him, as well, she knew this. Though he did come back in time... Although not to the Order that had driven him away. Those were chains he had broken...

He was his own Master now.

He would tilt his head a moment as they would reach a pond, and with it came a fellow with a rather large blade and a cloth to rub the blade with. He would blink a bit as they stared at them, before turning back to Matsu when she would say that, yes, indeed, five.

"I'm almost shocked you managed to stay with a man long enough to make five" He would jest lightly, a small smirk indicating that he was merely teasing. Matsu had already told him of her rather... Sordid affair with the one-time Senator in the past.
