A Light in the Dark | Galactic Alliance Hex Dominion of Tython

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
Location: Aboard the Knight of Eclipse, entering the edge of Anaxes system
Objective: Abregado forces enter the system
Allies: [member="Ajira Cardei"], [member="Vilin"], [member="Valkyra Silber"] (?)
Enemies: [member="Miss Blonde"], [member="Darth Abyss"], [member="Tezuka Sayo"], [member="Scáthach"],
Equipment: stealth shuttle the Knight of Eclipse, 4 Greycloak body guards, Vong biot armor (with built-in grav glove systems), camouflage cloak, hypno-gaze, personal jet system, pair of electro-cestus, various other armaments kept aboard the ship

HK was kneeling in a meditative position, his Greycloak guards fussing around him, placing the strong rigid armor plates in their spaces and adjusting them into their proper sequences as their stealth ship soared through the void of cosmos towards Anaxes, a planet where the last remnants of the One Sith were now amassing to either try and hold out against the GA expanding into what used to be their territory or conduct yet another scorched earth maneuver like a tantrum thrown by a spoiled child when they can't get their way.

This was why the droid and his team were on their way towards the planet, the Sith were cut off, their resources were running thin, and the longer they waited the worse their position got during the siege, it was HK's goal to undermine their status even further by sabotaging their defenses and traps, foiling their plans, single-handedly sowing discord among their ranks to make the siege that much easier. Question would arise, could only 5 droids do all that? Yes they could. Because they were HK and done similar deeds before in the past.

Before they entered the system the droids would sent out a transmission to [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] to let her know that they were preparing an assault on Anaxes and the machine was going to enter combat personally in case she wanted to tag along with them. Another transmission would be sent to [member="Kimiko"] and the [member="Iron Giant"] as well, letting them know that,

"There is another chance to steal more of One Sith remnant ships, they are amassing forces on Anaxes, we are moving in for one last battle with them, if you two want to tag along."

And, of course, [member="Six-O"] would be given a chance to tag along with the machines on their stealth transport to cause some mayhem.

Either way, as Vilin moved the GA forces towards the system, with Ajira doing her scanning and Valkyra doing whatever, I didn't actually completely read her post, Abregado forces amassed couple systems away from Anaxes, preparing their fleets and ground forces for eventual battle and assault, or in case they had to cut off retreating Sith remnants. For now it would be just HK and other droids on his transport.

The first step was to avoid the mines set up, or still being set up in the system by enemy forces, while they were placed expecting large naval forces, single stealth ship, especially one as prestigious as the Knight of Eclipse, sneaked between and around them, evading them and slinking through the void like a shadow.

As the droids moved closer and closer to the planet, it was time to start picking their targets and what to strike against first.

The Eye of Vahl ~ The Oracle's Tower

The X-wing dipped low into the valley. In the cockpit seat sat a man garbed in the robes of a Jedi. His features looked hard as marble. He could not have been over thirty, but his features looked weathered beyond those years. A faded tear drop scar glistened silver just under his right eye. The whole of him, from pale skin to drab robes looked bleak and colorless save for his hair: long locks, red as blood.

Some knew him as Ryan Korr, soldier of a fallen government; knight of a fallen order; member of a fallen people.

He could hear her voice in his mind. Whispers of shadow, darkness calling out to darkness. Immersing himself in the cool rivers of the Force, he quieted the stirring storm in his breast, seeking serenity in acceptance.

The Force roiled in agony in the valley below. Korr guided his X-wing into the heart of the torment, trusting not to mortal sight but to the brighter current. Before him there burned a dark tower.

The Oracle.

Her whispers still tortured his thoughts. Blood of his blood, both members of a forsaken people.

Once, he told himself he was only a Knight of the Jedi. A hero of a proud history etched on the alabaster stone of a dozen temples from the Core to the far flung Unknown. It was all he had ever wanted. All he had ever known.

He did not want to be part of a people lost to darkness. A people always traveling, searching for a home they would never find. He did not want their pain, their suffering, their future.

But it is who I am...

I am Vahla. My blood rages with the embers of darkness, just as it does in all of my people.

We will find a way to be free, to cleanse our shadows. Do you hear me, Isolda?

I will find you. Our people will be free.

"Do as she says. Evacuate the planet."

Abyss words were aimed at the rest of he high command gathered around him, and while they were a bit confused non of them would oppose his decision. While he had no intention to let this reach the point where they had to sacrifices the fortress world, it was still good to have a back up plan ready. Scorched earth tactics had always been a One Sith standard after all. Oh how little things had changed. The moment the command was given, preparations for the evacuation began. As a fortress world most of the people there had a connection to the army of navy in one way or another, so it wouldn't be much of an effort to get the rest of world.

"My lord, we are getting reports that a group of Higher ranking loyalties has locked themselves in with a few of their soldiers, mainly young ones that don't know any better, in the officers' mess. They have their own energy, food and even oxygen in there, so we can't just let them starve. What is our next step?"

Again a slime danced over Abyss face, and without further explanation he turned on around and began his walk to bring the traitors down personally. They would serve as example for how things would be handled from now on. When he reached the troop quarters he was greeted by the soldiers with cheers and applaud, the common infantry still as dedicated as on the day he left. A young officer stepped beside him, leading him to a locked door at the end of the room, stopping in front of it with a salute towards the sith lord.

"Sir, we have placed the charges to breach the door, but we were waiting for further commands. How should we proceed."

Abyss offered a firm salute back, before each of his hands reach for one of the weapons hidden on his body. His left grabbed the silenced slughthrower from his back, while his right pulled the sith sword from the holster hanging over his shoulders.

"Breach in 30 seconds. Once the door is open I want both ion and smoke grenades in the immediate area. I go in first, and as soon as the smoke has faded you and your men follow to extract anyone injured without a rank patch on their shoulder. Ready when you are."

30 second later the door was blasted open by a collection of surgical placed explosives, and with only a moment of delay a handful of smoke and ion charges were thrown into the long corridor behind it, before the soldiers waiting the even had the change to fire. The smoke alone began to obscure vision inside, but the ion charges killed the light completely. With only flickering flashes of light breaking for the darkness once in a while.

What followed was collection of sounds and and the blurred images of a sith lord that was skilled in walking the shadows, each time light broke through the dark for a second. First a few blaster bolts fired into nowhere, followed by the slight click of a silenced gun and a scream of pain. The barely audible sound of a throat slit open before words were able to leave it. Another click, and a the sound of a body hitting the floor. A click, a sound of pain and the sound of another blaster bolt fired into nowhere. A last click and the the noise of a rifle breaking from the weight of a soldier falling on it. Bones breaking, combined by the sound of a gun being reloaded. Blood dropping on the ground from a number of fine cuts left on someone chest. The gun shoots in quick succession, each followed by another pained grunt.

When the lights turned on and the smoke had faded again the floor was littered with men, most of the only injured but some of the devoid of any live. At the end of the corridor stood Darth Abyss, his blade bathed in blood, the gun in his left pressed against the head of an officer that had fear written in his face, being forced to walk towards another locked door.

"Open it."'

With sweat running down his forehead the man began to type a code into the terminal besides the door, until it opened with a and audible hiss. Once the metal had moved aside another click could be heard and the lifeless body of the officer joined the others on the ground.

"Thank you."

Dropping both the sword and the gun on the ground the sith lord walked in, greeted by a group of commanders, admirals and after high ranking members of the remnant that all shared the same mix of confusion, anger and fear on their faces. On their side stood a group of armed soldiers, most of them slightly jittering as the dark figure emerged into the room.

"Hold your fire. Lord Abyss, I am terribly sorry, I was just follow..."

The Admiral had stepped towards Abyss his hands in the air, and was promptly greeted by the fist of the sith lord. His nose broke with a audible and fairly disgusting sound, as the man staggered backwards, blood dripping down his face. Red spit dropped on the ground, as he lifted his hand into a fighting position.

"So this is how you want to play it than."

When the first punch came, Abyss simply made evading step that moved him besides his attacker, his right reaching for the mans wrist, while his left reached for the mans shoulder. Almost casually the sith lord applied force, dislocating the mans shoulder with another disgusting sound. The Admiral dropped to his knees.

"My lord, please have mercy."

As an answer the admiral received Abyss cybernetic right leg in a kick that knocked him from his knees to his back. With disgust Abyss allowed himself a last look on the man, before his cybernetic pushed forward once more, crushing the mans skull under its force.

The soldiers in the room couldn't hide their fear. The fight had been quick, merciless and brutal in way that was even worse than on many battlefield. One of the youngest of them dropped to his knees, throwing his weapon on the ground with tears running down from his eyes. The Sith lord stepped in front of the kneeling figure, reaching for the rifle. For a second everyone held their breath, waiting for the siths next move. The tension broke when no shoot was fired and no blood was shed, as Abyss offered the weapon back to the young man.

"Rise solider. I want this officers executed."

And so the officers were executed by the very men they had tried to convince to defend them. That was how treason would be handled on Anaxes from now on.

"The enemy has activated the interdiction field; also the Justicar is closing in on us!" the sensor technician told Cathul.

"Let the interdictor ship go. They are not retreating; in fact they are coming in our way with their remaining frigates. They are keeping their interdictor ship and carrier behind, we can move in afterward"

"Fire everything you can on the Justicar!" Carmen ordered.

With the bomber squadrons closing in on the targeted ships, and their crews aiming their bombs at the hangar doors of the Maladis, massive explosions tore the topside of their hulls apart, exposing their subsystems. Also, several bombs took out heavy emplacements on the enemy frigates, making both heavy frigates suffer heavy damage from the combined fire from the bomber squadrons and the broadside fire of the Legacy, and losing a significant portion of their combat capability. Meanwhile, the concentrated fire of both artillery cruisers destroyed the Charge, due to the heavy punch these weapons carry, especially since the MIRVs could easily overwhelm the point-defense of that cruiser. But the Justicar still being out of standard turbolaser range from the Hero of Coruscant, the Legacy had to contribute its long-range fire to deal as much damage as was possible: just two 380mm hypervelocity cannons were not enough. Said Justicar was finally done turning around and, while the crew diverted all the underside shield power to reinforce the topside shields, it was not enough to stop the barrage of long-range fire from the Justicar. The crew braced for impact, and they managed to land a few hits in front of the superstructure.

"All bomber squadrons, return to ship immediately! However, engage any enemy craft coming your way when possible"

"Damage report"

"Central cargo hold is on fire, venting has begun, then damage control teams are moving in"

Speaking of damage control teams, similar scenes are being played out on other ships, with some variation as to which sections are affected. However, both the wave of enemy bombers and the Charge (before the enemy cruiser exploded, taking a few fighters along with it) caused some breaches on the hull of the destroyer called the Legacy. The pieces were a little distant, from the Boneshatters' standpoint, so the Boneshatters could evade the debris flying everywhere. The Boneshatters still being out of range of even the frigates, who even now were advancing past the cruisers, they could close in pretty much unmolested but the enemy crews feel that what amounts to a Force-EWAR still being in effect would preclude them from being effective until they enter standard turbolaser range. Then again, the sentiment was the same for the frigates: here it would be a shot in the dark to fire at Boneshatters from beyond the standard turbolaser range. As for the fighters, perhaps by the main fleet closing in within standard torpedo range it would force the enemy fighter screen to get out.

"If at all possible, we should capture the enemy admiral and/or flagship: once the enemy flagship is close to not even having any combat ability left, direct your fire on other units"

Marcus continued on as the valley came to a sharp passage, forcing the three of them into a long fissure leading into the next stage of the valley. As they advanced Marcus took a look at his visor's screen, blinking twice to bring life to the Commander's HUD installed into the helmet. He glanced down to the bottom left corner and noticed that one of the squad indicator lights were blinking, showing a weapons discharge. Immediately the Sergeant placed a hand on his comm device, exhaling before speaking into the unit.

"Team 1, Report." He commanded as his eyes scanned the area surrounding them. The report he was expecting was replaced with silence as the other two indicator's for that team began to rapidly blink as well. "Team 1, Report in, now!" A moment passed before feedback came in from the comm unit. As time passed the feedback was replaced with Team 1's commander. "We're pinned down! They tried to circle around to flank your position, we-" The comm unit dropped as Marcus glanced over to the indicator lights once again. The soldiers were still alive but they were engaging the enemy.

Marcus turned to [member="Liliane Lancaster"], a hand still placed on his comm system as he informed her.

"Ma'am. Our advance team is under attack, we can expect-" Marcus was cut off as two stray blaster bolts flew over their heads. He watched the yellow beam fly over them and quickly tackled the Jedi Master to the ground. "Down!" While it may not have necessarily felt good it was for her safety. Immediately Marcus rolled over to see that Flesh Raiders had started to overtake their position, screeching wildly as they fired off blaster bolts towards their team.

Recovering himself Marcus brought his blaster rifle up, aiming at one of the creature's that stood on the ridge. With a slow exhale Marcus fired his weapon, the blaster bolt impacting in the Flesh Raider's chest before sending it tumbling down into the fissure. He turned to the trooper who accompanied him, clenching his hand into a fist. "Protect the Commander!" He waved his palm towards the Jedi Master before taking cover behind a nearby rock, preparing to fire once again.

The Men In The High Castle
Axum System - Anaxes
Location: Anaxes Citadel
Men and women ran about the hanger in a frenzied rush. Weapons were loaded aboard transports, troops were assembled and the Starwing was fueled and ready to go with recon craft already on their way down to the surface. Lord Abyss and his forces were going to learn that Anaxes was a naval world and it's might would rain down upon him like the azure hammer. "Alright soldiers, listen up! Today we face our own who have turned against Anaxes. Some lowlife Sith scum thinks he can take control because some of us served the same Emperor at one time. Well the One Sith are dead. He failed his Empire and I don't like failures in charge. Admiral Harrier wants us to oust him. So we will. Now board your shuttles soldiers. I want The Citadel in our hands before they know what hit them. Move out!" The troops broke for their ships to board. Spirits seemed high given the task they were to accomplish. Valkyra gave a grinning smile as she watched them for a moment. They were all so eager to fight for their homeworld. To die for it. She respected them for it but could see their blind loyalty was more suicidal than patriotic in all realism. If things were to proceed smoothly and they could kill or remove this Sith Lord: then maybe they could get back on track to best the Alliances pending invasion. Maybe Valkyra could move higher up in the ranks. The little blonde blue eyed Lieutenant settled that thought aside for now and made to board her own ship down to Anaxes. It was going to be one hell of a siege.

IP8SAQp.png
"Attention all citizens, loyal soldiers of Anaxes, those who betray their world, and the usurper. This is Admiral Harrier. The usurper, a Lord Abyss he calls himself. Has taken over The Ruling Council and lays claim to Anaxes. In our darkest hour he comes as the Alliance fleets have set sail and head to our shores. What an opportunistic move on his part. Had you come soon after the collapse of the Empire I could serve by your side. It is plain as day though you don't care about those here else you would have. You maybe see our armies and fleet for its strength. And that's what a Sith wants. Strength, power, control is it not?

I will deny you them here though. The fleet is loyal to the people they protect. Not you.

Prepare yourself with what little time you have left. The might and pride of Anaxes wields the hammer against you. And we shall rain down from above until you and your men are broken and begging for mercy. There shall be none, nor shall we ask for it."

The transmission cut off and the fleet readied for the first barrage. The Sith had underestimated the navy. Most of the officers came from Anaxes or Axum. As did the crews. They had fought and bled for the Azure worlds all. Even the others who took up with them from elsewhere having worked alongside were ready to defend these worlds from threat. Some of the army may have lost their loyalty somewhere or buried it in the pit deep in their hearts where the One Sith should have been buried. The Navy had not.

The speech send to the world below left little impact for two reasons: First of the civilian were already lead to evacuation that would bring them to safety and out of the dangers of battle. That alone was enough for them know that this "usurper" had no intention of sacrificing them in the war to come, other than the attacking forces that more or less threatened to burn the world they pretended to protect. The second, and far more important reason was not about the civilian but about the military forces stationed on the citadel. While there had been many officers and higher ups that were equally blinded by their desire for power as the attackers, they were already in the process of either surrendering or being executed. Commanders didn't made an army, it was the hearts and souls of those that fought in it that mattered. And when there was one thing Abyss held, then it was their hearts and souls.

While they might were puzzled why exactly the sith had returned to take control, very few viewed him as an invader. The legends of the Ascendeds actions and glory during the day of the one sith were told to this day by those that fought with him, and they became stories of hope and dedication passed on to those that had not been there to witness them.

There were many stories that could be told, but non was as well known as the battle of Mindabaal. The day the empires fall truly began, when the sith once more rose to spill each others blood. The world had been under attack by armies lead by a traitor in form of a sith lord, and he fell down on them with full force. Abyss men had been ready for a glorious last stand, ready to die for what they believed in. But it never came to that. Their commander, back then just an mere acolyte of the order, decided to meet the enemy alone, bargaining his own live for theirs in a last act of defiance against their enemies. And that was knowledge that stuck to them, a leader that was not afraid to risk his own live for theirs, instead of hiding on some ship and giving out commands.

"Admiral Harrier. Stand down or we will be forced to blast you out of the orbit. Other than you and those under you might have fallen to believe, I did not came to take away your world from you. I came to defend it, a task for which I had to make adjustments on the current command structure, thanks to your actions. Your council is still in control, I only took my rightful place as emissary of the Sith order. Refrain from your attack, and stand besides me, the council and the brave soldiers that have scarified as much blood and dedication than myself to keep the claws of the alliance out of the worlds that do not belong to them. This is my last offer admiral, and I would advise you to take it. It would be a shame if more blood was shed because of your shortsightedness."

Again the message was openly send to all on the world, so all would know who would be the invader and who would be the defender.

Balance in the Force is essential to become a great Jedi, that was what his Master once told him. And although they were together for only a brief time, the comment struck home. Elmont knew that to achieve that you had to gain balance in one’s abilities and talents. Being adept at Force skills is nothing if you do not know how to use them. Having a great talent in channelling the Force through Healing is fine, but if you cannot also protect yourself in combat, then you will never reach your true potential.

Which brought him back to the planet he was standing on. Here, Ashla and Bogan cast their light and dark shadows upon the surface of Tython, and true balance exists within as well as without.

The start of his journey will take him northwest across the large island continent of Masara to the other coast. Then a journey of eight hundred kilometres over the Thyrian Ocean will follow; and after his arrival on Thyr, he will journey across rocky plains and through extensive forests until he reaches the site of Qigong Kesh, once the Temple of Force Skills. It lay beyond the forests and three days’ walk into the Silent Desert, that mysterious place where sound is soaked up by some unknown quality in the constantly drifting sands. The winds are relentless there, and it’s said that some of the sand sculptures that persist sometimes for mere seconds are sentient, part of a species that has existed on Tython for millions of years. No contact has ever been made with these sculptures – indeed, there are those who believe they are simply another unusual quality of the Silent Desert. But Elmont was open-minded enough to believe.

And he was journeying on foot wherever possible. It was a sort of homage to the days of the Jed’aii – and if it were good enough for them, it would be good enough for him.

A rasping and desperate gasp for air that would never fill its lungs again was the last sound to be let out between the lips of one Flesh Raider, a line of blood trickling down from the corner of its lips to trail along the curvature of its jaw where drops of crimson would hang for but a moment in a desperate attempt to defy fate before gravity would impose its will and drag the life-liquid to the ground. With the hiss of metal running over metal, the blade that aided the now decease Flesh Raider in standing, would withdraw from the being's neck, causing a new river of blood to form, and settle back into the frame of the cybernetic arm from what which it had emerged from. With the muscles slackened from death, the body of the Flesh Raider crumpled in on itself and collapsed into the slowly growing puddle of its own blood, joining its fellows on the ground.

Grunting in satisfaction, the cloaked form of Darth Lykos would callously step over the now cooling corpse, uncaring of the loss of life and taking care in ensuring that no blood stained the edges of the tattered cloth that formed his robes and that his bare feet did not step in said blood. Swiftly leaving behind the carnage borne upon death and conflict, the Zabrak's lone eye stared ever the more intensely at the rock wall ahead of him, ignoring the soft patter of footsteps, these ones not caring about the puddle of blood, that slowly approached form behind.

He stood upon a rock path, one carved out over the centuries and millennia within which rain and footfall had natural fell, that wound itself up along side one of the mountains that decorated the surface of Tython. Surrounding him was nothingness, nothing but piles of picked-clean bones, dirt and flora that fought to even exist within such a harsh ecosystem. None of which should have caught the Assassin's interest, especially when the scurrying Presence of the Light could be felt crawling upon the Dark surface like ants, skittering about like flickering flames. And, indeed, nothing that was a part of the scene had drawn his attention, what he sought was currently beyond physical sight.

With no sound being uttered or even created by the action, Lykos pushed onward, continuing to pay little mind to the sound of hurried footsteps that followed in his wake as a dogged shadow. The only sound created by the Sith Lord was the taps that rang off of the high rock wall to his right, bouncing off into the open expanse to his left, created by the pitch black and polished wooden cane that he held tightly within his right hand, the tip, capped in brass, seeking out any obstacles that may be within the Zabrak's path.

Having lost an eye, Lykos had lost the ability to perceive depth perception and while he was more than capable of making up for this disadvantage through the Force - using it, essentially, as sonar, that did not mean that he always did so, or always could for that matter. During the times in which said option was removed from him - sometimes due to the phantom pain that would originate from the empty eye socket robbing him of the necessary focus to use the Force in such a manner subconsciously - the Assassin would often rely on the cane he now held.

In the current moment, the option was one that he was choosing to ignore for he sought to pass beneath the focus of any and all beings concentrating on Tython; his Presence smothered, shrunken and obscured using every technique he knew. If there was any way that he was going to be tracked, it was either by the Presence of the footsteps that followed behind him or through his using the Force to impose his will upon the physical realm around him.

The tapping of the cane would soon stop, however, after it impacted against the rock wall that had held Lykos' amber gaze just minuets earlier. Tucked away between the cradle of the mountain he had just climbed and a peak that grew from said mountain, the rock was was almost indistinguishable from the area around it, alienated only by the fact that rain soaked boulders sat scattered around it, their forms outside of the natural overpass that Lykos stood underneath. Rather than acting in any hurry, rather than moving forward with what he knew he needed to do, Lykos chose to raise his left hand - the cybernetic one - and rest it against the wall before speaking, his low and raspy voice shattering the silence.

"Tell me, my little shadow. Why here?"

He heard the loud crack of thunder from the skies above, it didn't seem to be raining. When he looked up he was reminded of the constant storm he felt inside all the time...it was a battle everyday to stay on track. One wrong move and...

Then he heard Trextan' voice, He took a deep breath and looked over the undergrowth as he saw it. "Yeah...there's definitely a taint imbedded in this place..." He released his breath and took a few steps forward.

His nose began to twitch, he picked up a scent. When he turned to look, he fiddled with his lightsabers attached to his lower back. Nothing in his line of vision, didn't mean they weren't there. Another crack of thunder caught his attention and he took to looking at the sky again.

Hmm...

"I'm sure your already aware...I'll watch the rear."

It was an old way, the ritual of visiting each temple under your own steam as much as possible. Speeders were forbidden and even the use of a shire, one of the most common beasts of burden on Tython, was frowned upon.

Walking, it was said, will bring you closer to Tython, which itself is incredibly rich in the Force. It will make you understand, experience, taste, and smell your surroundings instead of viewing from a passenger's position. And sometimes it meant there were dangers to confront.

Finally, he reached the expansive Stark Forests that would lead eventually to the Silent Desert. The trees of these forests store water in pendulous, leathery sacs, useful to travellers and constantly refilled as the skeletal branches suck what moisture they can from the air.

With Tythos shining down on him, Elmont was enjoying the time spent alone. Not alone in a lonely sense but alone in a communing with nature and the Force sense. The weather was neither too hot nor too cold and the going through the forest was gentle, and he followed a shallow stream that meandered towards the desert some kilometres ahead.

"Fire the hypervelocity cannons at the enemy carrier!" Carmen ordered.

Both sides' volume of fire is steadily decreasing: the two cruisers were short at least one missile and one non-missile hardpoint apiece, but the remaining MIRVs being fired made short work of the Maladis. Yet, before the Maladis were destroyed, they managed to deal some serious damage to the artillery cruisers, and these cruisers were still able to somehow use roughly two-thirds of their firepower. Also, the Legacy took heavy damage, after the Justicar firing pretty much every gun they could point at it, and the same for the Legacy on the Justicar, which was on its last legs. After seeing their main firepower lost, the enemy began to recall whatever squadrons it could to its carrier, the Wrack, which came under fire using the two 380mm hypervelocity cannons. Which, despite the long distance at which it was fired, both hit it, but not quite inflicting hull damage: the volume of fire was rather diminutive. Meanwhile, by the fleet closing in on the sitting duck of a destroyer, the enemy attack craft make strafing runs in attempt to disable the carrier's hardpoints, but the enemy fighters are facing heavy point-defense: they think that disabling hardpoints on a carrier was a good idea but point-defense was everywhere: from the 20mm point-defense HVCs on the cruisers and the quad lasers of all other ships, and also the poorly-trained fighter crews flying unshielded craft, the enemy is short more than just a few squadrons of fighters.

"Legacy has made an emergency hyperjump!"

"Admiral! The enemy is retreating deeper into the Tython system!"

"Let them go for now. We're going to board the enemy flagship once we tractor it in"

"The enemy flagship lost over half its crew"

Boarding a Wyyrlok and making it to the CIC, even of a heavily damaged ship, would still require a few hundred marines to do so properly, perhaps even thousands, but the enemy carrier, the interdictor cruiser as well as the remaining frigates all made the jump to hyperspace alongside most of the remaining enemy attack craft. Rear Admiral Kanno must be a little nervous by now, since a few holdouts fell back to Tython proper from Kalimahr, where they now were. But even losing half the crew on a Wyyrlok would still mean that they are outnumbered compared to a Mateus with a full complement: the former would still sport 17,000 crew while a Mateus comprises 12,000 crewmen at full strength. Currently the Hero of Coruscant was close to full but a few hundred casualties have been reported, so they'd better hope that there were no Sith onboard.

The Men In The High Castle
Axum System - Anaxes
Location: Anaxes Citadel
Valkyra's reconsecration craft flew high above The Citadel and other local areas of operation. Picking out troop concentrations and pinpointing targets for orbital and air strikes. With this ongoing the hasty force of marines and starfighters were taking off from their capital ships for the surface.
"Every last man and woman who have sided with you are a traitor to everything we've worked for. We who stand true to Anaxes won't let you bring about her fall like you brought the Empires. Now die like like a good Sith dog". Harrier cut the transmission to the surface. The negotiations were over and the chosen course was civil war. "Attention all ships. The traitors have forgone surrender and have chosen to fight. Any who do shall be destroyed. Begin orbital bombardment on targeting data on my mark". Harrier has gone off the deep end now. The Sith coming back had ruined everything he planed for. So it would be death for all he chose. "Mark".
Turbolaser batteries opened up on the surface. Anti-orbital defenses were targeted. The worlds shields weren't on the list though the fleet was lower than it's projection so they would not help. Not every whip fired though. Some had doubts about killing their own unlike Harrier. Others were debating currently to defect to the Sith's side and few about just abandoning the world to whatever fate came about. About a third of the flee through was all for retaking Anaxes from Abyss. Loyal to a fault they were.
The ground invasion will begin shortly.

No it wouldn't. Blonde didn't play that game. Like at all. While lieutenant flat chest and admiral triple chin started their little assault, Blonde had already thought ahead. She wasn't about to let in fighting tear them away from their objective and the Admiral needed to know that she just didn't care about this planet. So as a few turbo lasers struck the shields of the buildings and city to weaken its defenses, Blonde simply say in the council chamber with her feet up and her hand playing with her data logger.

"My mother said to pick the very best one and you are not not it." There was a small beep on her comm link and nothing of significance happened on the planet. But in space it was a completely different story.

One of her freighters docked to the shipyards exploded violently. Chunks of metal and fire spewed through the cosmos and a large piece of shipyard hung off the end barely keeping attached without it dragging itself into the planet's gravity well. People were probably caught in that explosion and died, and honestly blonde couldn't of cared even a little. So with a bit of fine tuning she adjusted the vocalizer on her mask and edited the sound of her current voice.

"This is a message for Admiral Dingbat. Shut up. I will burn your fucking planet to the god damn ground. I will wreak havoc and ruin so badly that it'll make Druckenwell look like a fucking joke. So here's what you're gonna do. You're going to fly down here on a shuttle in the next ten minutes, I'm going to give you a knife, and you're gonna disembowel yourself on live television. Then Abyss is gonna cut your head off Atrisian style. It'll make for great TV. Or you can just pack up and leave, choice is yours really. Either way if you don't come to a decision in the next ten minutes I'm gonna kill this planet. Now before you go thinking you can just ion bomb everything, my ships have scanners that detect ion energy signals so the moment you power up its bye bye. And as far as jamming my signal? There are very specific instructions to blow the shipyards if I don't check in every two minutes. So clock starts now. Good luck." Blonde do fuck around or play that game.

Her droid agents had already infiltrated the shipyards, placed explosives, and were simply blending in with the staff. She didn't have the time or patience to play this game.

The bar took shape and folded in and over itself time and time again as the Iron Father turned things over, hammering the scale off of the other size. As the heat dimmed, he turned it a moment, checking the small slice he hot-cut from the greater bar. Satisfied, he took it and reared back, plunging it into the quench tank near his anvil. Steam hissed and exploded from the surface, faint flickers of blue static lightning arcing from it as the liquid in the quench roiled and spat back a mixture of water and his own blood. Methods long kept hidden by [member="Ajira Cardei"], he called the darker secrets of his arts to him and bent the metal to his will. Those techniques, blended with Force Imbuement, would leave a stunning weapon in the end of this, or so he hoped. The blood was trace, just enough to begin forming a bond to the blade pieces.

Finally, he turned to the impressive chunk of kyber he had found in the dust and rusted tools of the forge. Crudely shaped and untouched, it still faintly pulsed with power as he neared it. The Force called to him in whispers and faint music in the back of his mind as fingers already calloused in this new body drifted over it. Beautiful crystalline facets met soot and oil stained digits as he stood in reverent contemplation of the piece before him. Crystallurgy was not his primary focus, metallurgy was. But he knew enough of it to know his plan was not as mad as it might seem. Indeed, it was likely a part of his 'trials' here. Ijaat knew something was awaiting him on this tormented earth. That something had brought him here for a reason. He now believed that this project and dream of his was part of it.

Taking up a delicate chisel of gleaming beskar and madog steel, he dipped both it and a hammer into the quench tank. It was a way of anointing them to his presence, and binding them to him. Closing his eyes, he drew in his awareness to himself, his tools, and the several foot long chunk of kyber crystal. There was a flicker of fear, but he embraced it rather than denied it. Something this ambitious was normal to feel fear and trepidation over. It was not to be without fear, but to accept that fear and not let it rule you. This was the lesson of the Je'daii and the failure of the Jedi, in his mind.

And so chisel was placed against crystal, and hammer knocked. Gently, ever so gently. The Force pulsed in him and the objects he held as he sat cross-legged in the middle of the forge, holding the kyber chunk on his knees. Rough shaping would come first, but even now he teased and prodded the molecules of the crystal to empower even further, and align more perfectly to make the shape he desired.

Trextan went one further than Rebel. He pulled his lightsaber from his belt and kept it in his hand as he walked towards the darkness. It was oppressive. Like a sinkhole in the Force that drew in all positive emotion.

The Force moved darkly here, but the shapes that moved ahead of them were all too real. The shadows became eery silhouettes as a fire was lit somewhere in the threes ahead. A signal from these Flesh Raiders for reinforcements.

At a warning from the Force Trextan stepped aside. A spear whistled through the air and landed where he had been standing.

Without warning, a flight of hook hawks swooped out of the high trees and sang a sweet song. In truth they were carnivores, singing their prey to a somnolent standstill and then tearing into eyeballs and throats with their wickedly hooked beaks and sharp talons.

They hovered in a rough circle around Elmont, wings beating a gentle rhythm, voice glands whistling and humming in practiced harmony.

Elmont had never seen or heard of these creatures. He stood and stared at them, awed by their beauty and their song – and their circling became closer to the Jedi.

Then a single hook hawk drifted down, slow and casual, still singing as it aimed its claws for Elmont’s eyes. And despite his relaxed state, something felt wrong – and he recognised a warning from the Force. So before the creature could gouge his eye, his borrowed saber was drawn and the creature fell to the ground.

The remainder screeched in anger, and in that moment he was once again calm, focused, and at one with the Force.

As if sensing this, the birds began to sing once more. Elmont can feel his attachment to the Force waning and he shakes his head and keeps his saber held high. Two birds swoop in and one swing of his saber deals with them.

Realising their quarry was no easy prey, the remaining birds change their song to one of panic, and fly up through the canopy and away.

Elmont took a full three minutes before he was assured enough to put his saber away and then he continued through the diminishing forest, and finally he could see a sparse desert landscape visible on the horizon. The edge of the forest led down a gentle hillside, and the boundary between forest and desert was a gradual lessening of undergrowth, a greater spread of creeping sand.

He took the chance to stop for a drink and refill his canteen from a small spring. And as he walked forward he was aware that the sound of birdsong behind him was fast ebbing and instead he was cocooned within a deep, encompassing silence.

"All bombers, return to ship; all fighter squadrons, continue to patrol the system for any enemy reinforcements"

Of course, Cathul didn't expect the operation to be without casualties. The Legacy made an emergency hyperjump to Coruscant, where, hopefully, it will be repaired and refitted for any future campaigns. And yet, in their escape to Tython proper, some enemy fighters couldn't make it back in time inside their motherships: those who couldn't escape were destroyed rather swiftly with limited losses. Meanwhile, the Justicar was so badly damaged that it could only put some desultory suppressive fire on the Alliance carrier before said carrier could close in. Which means it's the Justicar alone that has to deal with the GA attack craft taking out some hardpoints on it. The temptation was great for Cathul to destroy the ship outright, but Rear Admiral Kanno has to be brought to the lava cell on Sullust or another prison location somewhere in GA space (the infamous swamp prison camp on Dagobah comes to mind, although, of course, Dahrtag could count). With the question of how to get to the enemy CIC, Cathul drew a blank: while she had to defend that very carrier she is using as a flagship against a boarding action with Trandoshan marines, losing hundreds of in the process, she had no idea how to attack an enemy ship in a boarding action.

"How the feth are we going to get to the CIC now? All the crews that successfully captured a Wyyrlok claim the same thing: we are going to get poodoo rained on us at every turn"

"Phase 1: we are going to need a few stun bombs and drop their payloads into the life support circuits. For that phase we are going to need heavy stun bombs, chuck anesthesics in those so that the Graug they employ as marines fall asleep"

"Graug? I get that Tanith told us all about how the Sith Order uses Graug for crewing security posts, and are everywhere in the Sith Order armies, but why Graug?"

"Tanith's report states that the defense of the Ruination required Kaine to exhaust many more Graug for every Silver Jedi marine they managed to kill"

Elmont has a soft step but even he was unnerved by how soundless his progress across the sand is. He felt a compulsion to say something, anything, just to see what happened but he pushed the urge away, thinking it frivolous.

Finally he set up camp on the now cooling sands. He started a small campfire and ate some rations and set out a bedroll. The lack of noise was now disconcerting and so he focussed on being attuned to his Force senses to be aware of anyone or anything approaching him.

But it is his eyes that warned him first – movement in the shadows beyond his fire. His hand went instinctively to his saber and not a moment too soon as a lizard the size of a person closed in on him. As it advanced, he noticed its spiked body and its six limbs. A Silik lizard perhaps? He’d heard of them – rare silicon-based creatures that absorb energy from the sand.

Its curved claws looked vicious and its crystalline teeth that were too numerous to count added to the challenge. And the backdrop of this whole scenario being played out in total silence was oddly distracting for Elmont.

The lizard literally leaped through the fire, and rather than use his saber, Elmont Force pushed it to one side. Landing, it twisted and squirmed away until it was gone. Or rather it was hiding, Elmont thought – not wishing to hope it might slink away so soon.

Guided by the Force, he span and activated his saber in one movement, the blade igniting without a sound. The lizard’s head was at Elmont’s feet and it hung by a thread to its body.

He quickly dragged the Silik lizard’s corpse away from his camp and buried it to prevent interest from carrion creatures. The burial was silent, even the shush of sand between his fingers noiseless.

The fight had begun. Liliane would have never imagined they'd be attacked so soon, but it'd happened anyway. Flesh Raiders, at least so it seemed to be, were really feisty people -- aggressive, very hasty, dumb. That combination was horrible, making them fighters whom even the best of Jedi Masters had a hard time fighting against. Not because they were skilled, but because they had no idea what they were doing, so nobody could really expect anything from them.

She knew how to fight, so she didn't find it a necessity to take cover. The woman had a lightsaber and the necessary skills to dodge the blaster bolts, meaning she also had the potential to destroy the enemies without taking any damage.

"They can not die. Whatever you do, do not kill them," the Jedi Marshal said, a sudden tone of strictness to her voice. A true Jedi did not kill unless absolutely necessary. And even though the people around her were not even members of the Galactic Alliance Defence Force, not even speaking of being a part of the New Jedi Order, she couldn't deal with any deaths.

Unless it was Isolda.

The Flesh Raiders continued to fight back. Blaster shots came from here and there and everywhere, but the lady was ready to deal with them. The blue lightsaber brought in a defensive position, she moved it as little as possible while parrying the shots from the blasters. There was no point in using too much energy that moment. After all, if she tried herself out right now, she would have nothing to spend on the Vahla.

And Isolda.
