Kay just smirked as she lay down on the cot and curled up. Many times she had watched over her friend. Now it was his turn. It didn't take long for sleep to take over as she had used a lot of energy that day.

Despite the heaviness of the day's activities, her dreams were rather pleasant which was a relief. It gave her time to unwind, which would prepare her for the night ahead of them. Hopefully Hawk wouldn't fall asleep. Even if he did, just as long as they were up before dawn, they would still have time to work on their mission.

With his forefinger, Hawk caresses the amulet. His breathing slows down. His eyes appear out of focus as he see a vision. The vision was Kay and him standing over a grave. Kay was begging him to use the amulet to bring back Shaw.

The alarm on his watch goes off before he see what his choice he made. He looks down at the amulet. It was glowing green. Hawk knew from experience that green meant life, He felt better. No headache...no lingering symptoms. It healed him. He slips it into his inner jacket pocket.

He nudges Kay. "Time to wake up."

Kay did what any other normal person would do after being woken in the middle of the night. She rolled over and ignored him. When Hawk nudged her again she asked for five more minutes. Surely he can spare a few.

Afterwards she forced herself go sit up and then yawned. "Okay...try to pack light...

It a good thing Kay decided to get up. He was just seconds away from dumping cold water on her. "Pack light? Says the girl with a tea kettle in her bag"

He was all ready to head out. He wasn't bring much with him. Just his his lightsaber, amulet, and a few rations. He didn't need anything else.

She smirked at his sarcasm. "Hey, it's a small teapot for two. And I always pack light." Well light enough so that she had everything that she needed. Kay was used to her situations always changing, so it was best to be prepared.

She got to her feet, feeling very much as though she needed more than a nap, but she had a job to do. Sleep can wait. With another yawn she slipped her satchel over her shoulder and headed out of the tent. Maybe the crisp night air will help wake her up.

Hawk followed her out of the tent. "Lead the way." He says in a low voice. "I have no idea where the mines are located." The ground shook again. "Frak." He mutters. "Not again."

Kay widened her stance as the ground shook so that she could keep her balance. Well that certainly woke her up. Less than a minute later it was over. "Come on...I saw a map of the town near the Mayor's office."

She broke out into a jog, heading what at first seemed like in the direction of the school, but then she veered to the right and stayed at an even pace around the side of the mountain until they left the busy part of town and followed a gravel road in the forest. Of course the gravel was noisy underfoot, so she slowed down to a walk. "There might be guards, I don't know....Shouldn't be too far up ahead."

Hawk jogs along with Kay than slows down to a walk on the gravel road. "You saw a map in the mayor office? So you don't know the location of the mine?" He shakes his head. This is insane.

Hawk reaches out to the force. He did sense a few life forms ahead. He had a bad feelings about this.

She whispered to him as they walked, trying to be as quiet as possible. "I have a basic idea. I just didn't get a chance to check the scale of the map. It isn't as though I had the time with the Mayor urging me out of his office with his blaster."

It wasn't as though she needed to ask for directions. The mine was nearby. She just didn't know how close they were to it.

"A basic idea that makes me feel so much better." He says sarcastically. "There a few people up ahead." A light was on in the Mayor office. "I don't think they are guards. The minds are too sharp."

Kay stopped and tried to figure out a plan to get them out of there. "Well...what if I screamed and they all came out to investigate? We could then stun them with my blaster and then head into the mine. How does that sound?"

It wasn't a bad idea unless they came out shooting. "All right. Let's give that try." He keeps his hand on his saber just in case they need to deflected any bolts.

He moves to the side and waits for to Kay to start screaming.

Kay looked to Hawk as he just put his hand to his saber. She frowned a little. "Don't you have a blaster? I don't need you to start chopping limbs." If he didn't have one, then she figured that she'd give him hers and just modify her plan a little.

"No, I don't carry a blaster anymore unless I'm going undercover as a smuggler. Don't worry I have other ways to defend myself." He figures he can use the force and take a blaster from one of the guards.

Kay chewed the inside of her cheek. How was he to stun them without a blaster? She held out hers. "Here take mine. And try not to hit me with it, please? I'm going to cause a panic."

"What will you used?" He says taking the blaster from her. It felt strange holding her blaster. It was a little smaller than the one he used all those years ago.

He sets it for stun. "I don't make any promises."

"What will I use? My voice of course."

And without further ado she bent forward and messed up her hair, throwing her head back and forth until she thought that it was good enough. Then she took a bit of water from her water bladder and splashed her face a bit to make it look like she was sweating and had ran a few miles. Once ready, she ran over to the miner's office screaming at the top of her lungs, "HELP ME!!! HELP ME!!! THERE'S A MONSTER CHASING ME!!"

The commotion surprised the miners---no wait---they were men from the Mayor's office! And they recognized her! So instead of rushing out to help her, they instead raised their weapons at her and gave chase as she turned and ran. But instead of heading in Hawk's direction, she went the opposite way to give him clearer shots of their backs. Hopefully he had good aim!

Hawk chuckles a little at Kay appearance than watch her go through her damsel in distress act. It was pretty funny. Why the hell was she running away from him.

He fires the blaster in three quick shots. Two of the men went down like a ton of bricks. The last survivor leaps and grabs Kay before Hawk could get another shot. The man hands were wrapped around Kay slender neck. "I will kill her. Put the blaster down." Hawk places the blaster on the ground. "Now step away from it."

Hawk takes a step back. Once the man attention was on the blaster on the ground. Hawk waggled his fingers sending a rock into the back of man's head. The man staggers forward releasing his grip on Kay before almost landing on top of her.

Kay moved out of the way as the man fell onto the ground. She rubbed her neck a little. "Thanks. Now see? Nothing to it. No lightsaber required."

She walked over to her blaster and picked it up, securing it inside her satchel. Then she grabbed the arms of the nearest man and started to try to drag him into the bushes. "Let's hide them in case anyone happens by."

"Ummm don't drag them. Use the force. All you are doing is leaving a trail for someone to find them." He uses the force to move two of the men to a nearby bush.
